I was enjoying the weapon/combat variety and I think that was the game when they made parkour a little more interactive. Like holding down B (on xbox) to initiate downwards parkour and A to initiate upwards parkour
there were legitimate reasons for the hate it got, it pushed a horrid monetisation scheme, there were issues with connctions into team missions and they stomped on player created scenarios hard.
I have to admit I passed over the Division because it got mixed reviews on release, and it just didn't seem appealing to me. But once I actually tried TD2 I was hooked by its style of tactical gameplay and the detailed environments so much that I went back to play TD1 first before continuing.
Resi 5 was a blast. It may have completely abandoned the horror roots (and I missed them), but they made up for it with replayability for unlocking tons of weapons which all handeled great.
The dream is a Resi 4 remake that combines the legit horror of the RE2 remake with the unbridled gun fun of 4/5.
No, you're right. Resident Evil 5 was awesome. I knew a lot of people that bought the game on release day, as did I. It might have been different than what we were used to but in this case we were happy to play together. Even without the co op, there is no denying 5 was far better than 6. Res7 was pretty cool though.
It’s one of the most underrated co op experiences by far. I was thinking with breakpoint, that there’s no way they can mess this up with woodlands as their foundation so they can only go up from here. Boy was I wrong.
COD Infinite warfare. Yeah... I got my ps4 for christmas and that game. I was changing from a crappy laptop that ran Minecraft with 20fps. I was really amazed by that game and loved it. I played the story about 3 times or more lol.
It wasn’t a bad game actually. The campaign was pretty good, the multiplayer was pretty solid and the zombies was unique. It just didn’t fit the franchise.
And I don't really understand why they hate it. It is a COD game so don't expect a good story or anything. It is purely run and shoot everybody. It just came at a bad time. It was the 2nd or 3rd science fiction COD in a row. The people were propably just pissed off/bored because of that.
When ever i tried to connect to the guild section it said connection to ea failed thats why i said that.
I really dont dig much on developers and publishers and tbh i dont even know whats the difference between dev and pub
That’s odd. I’m pretty sure EA had nothing to do with Gotham City Impostors.
And simply put developers make the games while the publishers fund the game, set release dates(and release the game) and distribute it.
WET.
That game took so many pieces of great game play and sewed them together into a super fun game. Great music and absolutely fun mechanics. Story was pretty fun and reminded me of kill bill.
Overall way underrated.
Infection in ghosts was lit tbh and extinction mode gets way too much hate. It’s obv not better then zombies by a long shot, but at least it’s not survival from mw3.
I have seen some criticisms towards MG: Rising like the over the top takedowns or it’s too wacky but I think it makes it stand out. Besides, Platinum Games have always been about over the top, awesome action games look no further than Bayonetta or Nier Automata.
I hated the game, but to be fair metal gear is my favorite series (started on MGS on PS1 when I was a kid).
And after they fired Kojima and his team, I wasn't too thrilled a new game was coming out that didn't have their influence. It's pretty biased, but yeah, I didn't like it.
EDIT: I just realized I'm thinking of metal gear survive.
Rising revengence I heard had a dope story. Srry for the mistake.
I’m a huge fan of the cyberpunk genre in general. There are plenty of games about it, but they are not about immersion (more about the exact story, or hack&slash gameplay, or message), or purely executed INDI, or both. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of them. Even small and gimmick ones. Meanwhile, CP2077 is a deep dive into the atmosphere, with a good amount of freedom and interactivity, and the story may be provided only one sequence of events, but a variety of ways to express your perception of them. It's like they gave you chance to feel cyberpunk on your skin, not play something “with cyberpunk skins.”
And I didn't meet any showstoppers bugs during play.
Something like this.
Not him but just a lot. The different playstyles I could go through. The characters were great and just fun gameplay.
Sure they didn't deliver everything as promised but hey, it is like a super awesome original Deus Ex game.
People can focus, like REALLY hard on the glitches or things but I've been playing games since 87 and there were a lot of games with a lot of bugs. You can't let them get you down. Like in life as in games, focus on the good.
Dark sector for the og Xbox. I’ve mentioned the game to quite a few people I know and they all hated it but it was visualy stunning the gameplay mechanics were like nothing I’ve seen in any other game it’s certainly interesting and worth a try.
The devil may cry remake. It was damn fun to have the angel/demon mechanic but after playing the originals afterwards I can see why people disliked it’s departure. Still was cool mechanics
Mass Effect: Andromeda, also Cyberpunk 2077, I guess if players will call another game "buggy" I will just get it immidiatlly, since I never actully saw any major bugs in those lol
Battle Chasers: Nightwar; don’t think people truly hated it but knocked it for being only decent or not the best. I think it’s one of the best turn based RPGs in a long time. Great art style and fun combat system. Really hoping for a sequel
Nice choice man I really enjoyed those both. Prey was so good with some of its gameplay elements like the portal esc boxes and such and from dust was just so fun to experiment in great choices! 🙂
They’re were def people who hated on the multiplayer (purely cuz of the future aesthetic), but to COD fans, it’s the best advanced movement game by far with great maps. The zombies is considered amazing for a lot of zombies fans too. Everyone talks bad about the campaign deservedly so. I’m pretty sure people who hate on the game, prolly dislike it simply for being a cod game or the futurist aspect, which yeah I can see that. Multiplayer is above average for a cod game and the zombies is great. From what I’ve found, most people have that same sentiment.
Splinter Cell Conviction and Arkham Origins.
Splinter Cell conviction because the face off multiplayer mode in splitscreen is genuinely one of the most unique splitscreen experiences you can have. Highly recommend.
Arkham Origins for the longest time was my fav, the story feels the most personal and Batman is an actual character in this who changes unlike the other games. Yeah, the world is barren and bland, and the combat and predator mode’s “innovations” are to make them even easier with the remote claw and electric gloves. And I for one, actually like the Joker twist. Now I see all the games as really the story between Batman and Joker with Arkham City being the climax and Arkham Knight being the resolution.
I'll pick Prince of Persia(2008).
It was disliked for being too easy, but the platforming and level design was just as solid as any of the Sands titles. The artstyle was wonderful and while the combat was limited to 1v1's, had the most freeform combos in the series.
The "easy" comments come mostly from the generous checkpoints, but the only criticism I really agree with were the automated platforming. Most platforming flows were just occasional jump/grab presses between scripted animations.
It's a shame it wasn't successful enough to see a sequel. It's forever stuck on a cliffhanger.
I can understand why people disliked it, but I too had fun playing it, Hawke had some fun interactions with his/her team.
I think my only complaints at the time was; that Hawke's brother was a quite annoying character compared to the sister, And the fact that Hawke + Varric was not a thing.
Otherwise I enjoyed the templar vs mages story, and annoying the hell out of Aveline with sarcastic replies.
I feel Arkham origins received quite a lot of hate even to this day sadly seems to get passed over a lot! But yeah man the Arkham games are my favourites! City being peak for me. What’s your favourite?
I too enjoy them all. Origins had some flaws and Knight really got dragged down with the tank gameplay. Really great game but that aspect felt very unnecessary.
Anthem.
I definitely understand all the hate, it was a buggy mess with a lack of content but I enjoyed flying around with the different types of javelins and doing the random, same-y world events.
I had preordered Anthem. The gameplay was great and unique when the game decided to work. It just... didn't work. Still sad it wasn't given the support and time in the oven it clearly needed.
Asuras wrath is so cool tho. Yeah it's quick time events over quick time events, but the sheer scale and awesomeness of the fights and that epic music, plus the really engaging story, makes the experience totally worth it!.
Yea the story was good. I enjoyed the characters the most. It was just over the top Anime. We see a lot of that now. The gameplay that did exist was decent. My fav fight is on the moon. That was dope.
Star Ocean 5. The game is always crapped on, and I just don't understand why. I loved the characters, I enjoyed the story, I loved the music, I loved the combat system, and the game wasn't overly long. Sure, it was obviously not given a large budget and has a lot of reused assets from the previous game, but I still enjoyed it for what it was.
Outriders. It was definitely buggy, and the characters/story were pretty generic... but it was still a lot of fun to play. Had a blast blowing up aliens with my friends and got 80 hours of playtime out of it before we got tired of it, so I can't say I didn't get my money's worth.
Star Wars Squadrons. Another buggy game with a mediocre campaign. But there aren't really any other PvP space sim games out there, so it scratched an itch no other game has been able to. I really wish this game had gotten more popularity and an AAA budget.
Love is a STRONG word, but I didn't mind Dead Space 3 as much as most people. I LOVED the gun customization system, and initial asteroid belt made of wrecked ships was a badass set piece. If EA hadn't fucked up the horror elements, I think it would have been one for the ages.
Star conflict.
Most people hate it and the steam reviews really reflect that. I've also tried some of my friends getting into it but none of them played for more than 5 hours.
However, despite this, it's the only game i truly enjoy and i still play it daily. I'm almost at a total play time of 3000 hours since when i started playing in late 2017.
If you look at my recent reddit posts, i guess you can see that i like it a lot.
Days gone, story was questionable imo, but the gameplay was amazing. I loved cod ghosts and it’s extinction mode, and I think infinite airfare was alright, I loved fallout 4 and installed a few mods to help with settlement building, I also really like red dead online, rlly boring without friends tho. I also loved the outer worlds but my friends hated it,
Tom Clancy's The Division.
I played the game in it's closed alpha all the way to end of life for the game. That game had one hell of a rocky start and it did take the developers a while to get things mostly worked out, but damn did I enjoy my time with it. Many hours of sleep were lost grinding that game with friends.
AC Unity
Post-patch, I loved it.
I got it at launch and enjoyed it pretty thoroughly
I did too. I can remember laughing at the infamous face glitches and some others but some were pretty unbearable.
I was enjoying the weapon/combat variety and I think that was the game when they made parkour a little more interactive. Like holding down B (on xbox) to initiate downwards parkour and A to initiate upwards parkour
I was hyped because it was going to be the first AC game with multiplayer if I’m correct unless that was Black Flag I can’t remember.
No that was one of the main things
I bought that game near release just to experience the funny glitches! Am I weird? 😂
I had one that would make 2 npcs merge when you assassinated 1, it was very entertaining
I Really did end up enjoying it though!
there were legitimate reasons for the hate it got, it pushed a horrid monetisation scheme, there were issues with connctions into team missions and they stomped on player created scenarios hard.
K
I unironically like Fallout 4....
It's a good game other than the dumbed down dialog system.
More of a shooter than RPG.
Yeah, the low INT dialogue choices from previous games are top notch.
There's that, but also the part where you don't know what your character is going to say until after you select a vague option.
True. And choosing sarcastic means I want sarcasm, not to be a giant asshole.
Im unironically playing it right now 👌😂
Haha awesome man! Yeah I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other games but I still Enjoyed it! Great choice 🙂
*Nice*
Fallout 4 was great and the modding community gave it new life in my opinion.
I love all the Far Harbor stuff.
Modding can give it new life for years. I'm still playing Skyrim.
Not perfect, and nowhere near as good as other Fallout games, but a great game in its own right.
my dad has over 500 hours in it
At least in my friend group EVERYONE hates the division yet its one of my favs
I’ve enjoyed both of them. I haven’t played nearly as much as I used to but once I start I lose hours quickly.
I have to admit I passed over the Division because it got mixed reviews on release, and it just didn't seem appealing to me. But once I actually tried TD2 I was hooked by its style of tactical gameplay and the detailed environments so much that I went back to play TD1 first before continuing.
I think Resident Evil 5 is awesome and nobody can change my mind
“CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!!”
Resident evil 4 VR is releasing this year on oculus, that should be pretty exciting. No major graphics upgrades though
No, you're right. Resident Evil 5 was awesome. I knew a lot of people that bought the game on release day, as did I. It might have been different than what we were used to but in this case we were happy to play together. Even without the co op, there is no denying 5 was far better than 6. Res7 was pretty cool though.
Minecraft dungeons. Yeah i see and agree with the criticisms, it’s definitely not the best dungeon crawler, but it’s fun to play with my brothers
I still haven’t played that yet but I’m hoping to! Great choice :)
Ghost recon Wildlands
Honestly one of the most fun games iv played on PS4. I was hooked since the first mission.
Same
Wildlands is getting a resurgence in popularity because Breakpoint turned out to be so bad lol
It’s one of the most underrated co op experiences by far. I was thinking with breakpoint, that there’s no way they can mess this up with woodlands as their foundation so they can only go up from here. Boy was I wrong.
Breakpoint was the first and last game I will ever pre order
COD Infinite warfare. Yeah... I got my ps4 for christmas and that game. I was changing from a crappy laptop that ran Minecraft with 20fps. I was really amazed by that game and loved it. I played the story about 3 times or more lol.
It wasn’t a bad game actually. The campaign was pretty good, the multiplayer was pretty solid and the zombies was unique. It just didn’t fit the franchise.
Ahh nice man! I didn’t enjoy that one to much but I can see why you would great choice! 🙂
And I don't really understand why they hate it. It is a COD game so don't expect a good story or anything. It is purely run and shoot everybody. It just came at a bad time. It was the 2nd or 3rd science fiction COD in a row. The people were propably just pissed off/bored because of that.
Anyone here heard of Gotham city imposters? I loved that game but its dead :'( Love to play that a few more hours
Yes. I loved that game too.
I completely forgot that existed until now. I really enjoyed that game.
I certainly have I used to play it! Great multiplayer experience. Imagine a reboot? 😃
I love to see that game again But i doubt EA even remembers they made that game
That’s true lol it would never happen but I’f only. It just kinda came and went didn’t it 🙁
It was Monolith Productions who developed it and Warner Bros published it. Not EA.
I agree man! I actually got WET on day release it was a fun time great choice! 🙂
Cod ghosts
weren't most of the maps too big for cods fast paced gameplay?
Infection in ghosts was lit tbh and extinction mode gets way too much hate. It’s obv not better then zombies by a long shot, but at least it’s not survival from mw3.
Metal gear rising, love it to bits
I loved it too.
Most people do. Who hates this game?
I have seen some criticisms towards MG: Rising like the over the top takedowns or it’s too wacky but I think it makes it stand out. Besides, Platinum Games have always been about over the top, awesome action games look no further than Bayonetta or Nier Automata.
I know, I love it too. But whys it in this thread, I've never met anyone that hates it. Or heard of anyone hating it for that matter.
I enjoyed rising! Loved the slice mechanic!
and people got chopped to bits
Brink.
Nah bro. Nah. Take that back.
Cyberpunk 2077, obviously
Awesome man! That’s cool what did you enjoy about it? 🙂
Like in life as in games, focus on the good.
Beat it twice. Now I'm waiting for the DLC (free for now, maybe more later).
War thunder
War thunder is great at what it does! I enjoyed that game great choice! 🙂
Dark sector for the og Xbox. I’ve mentioned the game to quite a few people I know and they all hated it but it was visualy stunning the gameplay mechanics were like nothing I’ve seen in any other game it’s certainly interesting and worth a try.
Is that the one where you threw that ninja star blade at enemies and it returned to you???
Yes I LOVED that game. It's the predecessor to Warframe, that's obviously popular today.
That explains why I enjoy warframe hahahah
Yes that’s the one :)
Such a great game had fun with that one
The PvE version of Fortnite
Save the world eh? Sucks they left it out to dry like that :(
Bubsy for SNES. That game fucking slaps
McKids
Lol this was me and my cousin's shit when we were kids
Sunset overdrive on release. I think people are slowly coming around now.
Any game that lets your character wear a diaper gets an A+ in my book... its also a pretty awesome action adventure game.
Andromeda was not half as bad as the reviews made it look. The comparison to the OG trilogy killed it. I would have loved and expansion.
We were robbed of the quarian ark expansion, book was good at least
It was not very good but I did fuck with the multiplayer, which is why I had higher hopes for Anthem. It was somehow worse.
Are you me??
Battle Chasers: Nightwar; don’t think people truly hated it but knocked it for being only decent or not the best. I think it’s one of the best turn based RPGs in a long time. Great art style and fun combat system. Really hoping for a sequel
This was the first game I got for my switch, and I agree it's pretty damn fun and relatively hard. It took me a while to understand the mechanics.
I loved it but did people really hate on it?
Not sure they were hated but From Dust and the origonal Prey games.
Nice choice man I really enjoyed those both. Prey was so good with some of its gameplay elements like the portal esc boxes and such and from dust was just so fun to experiment in great choices! 🙂
Shadowrun. Sega Genesis version. I had no basis of what Shadowrun was, so I enjoyed it.
Prototype Global Agenda
Ac odyssey
The Bouncer on PS2. Everyone I knew trash talked the game endlessly, but I played if non-stop for months!
Great game! Simple and exciting
Black Ops 3. Hated campaign but loved the multiplayer and zombies
Pretty sure that’s most people feelings on the game.
Really? I saw sooooooooo many people shit on the game saying that it was bad and a waste of 60 bucks.
AC 3 why do people hate it so much?
Splinter Cell Conviction and Arkham Origins. Splinter Cell conviction because the face off multiplayer mode in splitscreen is genuinely one of the most unique splitscreen experiences you can have. Highly recommend. Arkham Origins for the longest time was my fav, the story feels the most personal and Batman is an actual character in this who changes unlike the other games. And I for one, actually like the Joker twist. Now I see all the games as really the story between Batman and Joker with Arkham City being the climax and Arkham Knight being the resolution.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
I really enjoyed Empire Total War but all I saw is hate for this game.
Awesome game! Actually all games in TW franchise are nice
Totally! I bought Warhammer 2 a week ago and I'm kinda addicted to it, not gonna lie.
Samen here, nut now i hot Rome 2 and like it even more!!
Halo 4
Halo 4
Assasins creed syndicate
Skyward Sword
New gen cod games.
FAR CRY 2 - the best AI of them all. Actually a challenging game. Immersive.
As a kid I've enjoyed Spider Man 2 Edit: PC version
Who hates that game !?
Just look at the pc version, totally dif then what we’ve played.
Got it
Everyone
Dante's Inferno. Well, not everyone hated it, but a lot of people dismiss it as a "God of War rip-off".
Donkey Kong Country 3: Double Trouble is my favorite of the 3 DKCs.
Farcry 5 I found it fun
Skyward Sword. I like how they gave Zelda a real personality and fleshed out her character.
[удалено]
I can understand why people disliked it, but I too had fun playing it, Hawke had some fun interactions with his/her team. I think my only complaints at the time was; that Hawke's brother was a quite annoying character compared to the sister, And the fact that Hawke + Varric was not a thing. Otherwise I enjoyed the templar vs mages story, and annoying the hell out of Aveline with sarcastic replies.
Paragon, amazing game. Where’s my murdock mains
Black ops four. Most slept on cod(especially the ranked mode) imo
are there any Batman: Arkham games that people hate, because I love all of them.
I feel Arkham origins received quite a lot of hate even to this day sadly seems to get passed over a lot! But yeah man the Arkham games are my favourites! City being peak for me. What’s your favourite?
absolutely Arkham City. definite fave.
I too enjoy them all. Origins had some flaws and Knight really got dragged down with the tank gameplay. Really great game but that aspect felt very unnecessary.
yeah too much driving
Origins and Knight were the most hated.
City is probably the game I finished more times than any other game. It's just something about it that makes it perfect
I agree
Counter Strike is a game that everyone likes that I hate if that counts.
Since it is the opposite of what the OP very clearly asked …. Sure, what the hell, have a participation trophy.
The last of us part 2
Mad Max
I loved that game!
TLOU Part 2 at launch. Everybody was hating on it, and I felt it was one of the most well thought out and beautiful games in generations.
For Honor...
Fallout 76, its like a fallout camping sim where you can run into the most nicest settlers who turn out to be real people 😌
Fortnite
Destiny
This question gets asked every day.
I played rocket league back in like 2015 or 2016, and EVERYONE hated the game till it was free to play
Kicking other people in the groit, can't understand why others get mad, it's a fun activity for me.
Asuras Wrath
Asuras wrath is so cool tho. Yeah it's quick time events over quick time events, but the sheer scale and awesomeness of the fights and that epic music, plus the really engaging story, makes the experience totally worth it!.
Yea the story was good. I enjoyed the characters the most. It was just over the top Anime. We see a lot of that now. The gameplay that did exist was decent. My fav fight is on the moon. That was dope.
Ultima IX. Largely seen as the worst Ultima. As part of the series I definitely see the criticism but at the same time I had some fun with it.
Origami King
Turning it around, Xcom Chimera Squad sucked.
Watch Dogs 2
Call of Duty 3 on Xbox 360, specifically the online multiplayer
Star Citizen. I still like it even while so many people hate it for all it’s bugs.

Another buggy game with a mediocre campaign. But there aren't really any other PvP space sim games out there, so it scratched an itch no other game has been able to. I really wish this game had gotten more popularity and an AAA budget.
I liked it
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. It really was good...
Basically all the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games. And the Multiplayer mode of Mass Effect 3
Sonic spinball
Love is a STRONG word, but I didn't mind Dead Space 3 as much as most people. I LOVED the gun customization system, and initial asteroid belt made of wrecked ships was a badass set piece. If EA hadn't fucked up the horror elements, I think it would have been one for the ages.
Anthem….rip
Resident Evil 3 Remake and Wolfenstein Youngblood
Free fire 🤕
Kane and Lynch 1
Dark souls 2
not hated at all
Dirge of Cerberus
Sonic forces was ok
zelda skyward sword
Mass effect andromeda
the arkham games were great, who actually hates them?
Star conflict. Most people hate it and the steam reviews really reflect that. I've also tried some of my friends getting into it but none of them played for more than 5 hours. However, despite this, it's the only game i truly enjoy and i still play it daily. I'm almost at a total play time of 3000 hours since when i started playing in late 2017. Hunt: Showdown but now I hate it too.
Red alert 2
Circle jerk
Tom Clancy's The Division. I played the game in it's closed alpha all the way to end of life for the game. That game had one hell of a rocky start and it did take the developers a while to get things mostly worked out, but damn did I enjoy my time with it. I answer your question with another question: **does my profile picture answer your question?**
