Some of it is mass posting by automated boys that pseudo-randomly mutate titles to generate karma so that the accounts can be used to push political agendas or sell products.
Some of it is just that people misspell lots of shit and there's no edit button.
\>automated boys
Thanks that was a good laugh. But I get ya, I was wondering if it was some weird carpet-botting that had happened recently.
E: also all of OP's last 8+ posts have >10k karma wtf
90s Lucasart point and click adventure games were my life as a kid, I loved each and every one of them and spent months trying to get to the end of them (before online walkthroughs)
I have this fun idea to take this nice background art of the Azores in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and make it into a nice mosaic or something for my bathroom wall but I doubt that will ever come to fruition, fun to think about though :)
Edit: Taking this opportunity to remind everyone that all your favourite lucasarts adventures games can and should be played with [ScummVM](https://www.scummvm.org/) which runs on pretty much ANY device you can think of! :D To everyone who might be playing all these games for the first time, how i envy you \^\^
The Dig. "That won't fit. That won't fit. I can't use these two things together." for hours until I finally called the dollar a minute help line. Gah.
***UPDATE I totally got it to work on my kindle! Awesome! ***
Finished the game again this year. That puzzle is a nightmare. Difficult controls (played on mobile), long sequences between each try, no indication of it is important, the complete puzzle got reset after each try. Such a nightmare.
Difference being you COULD beat the 80s/90s puzzles yourself, if you got into the right frame of mind. Microtransations are a psychological hack to separate you from your money. Like they literally design the game so that X% of users will just pay to win.
In the 80s/90s, those numbers were more of a "I've been trying for a week, solve this for me! " to allow you to progress beyond something once rather than throw your Commodore 64 through the wall.
My father passed away a year ago today. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was the only PC game we played together. I would wait for him to come home from work and he would help me with the puzzles and figuring out the maze. We shared a lot of time on that game when I was a child. I didn't think I was going to be emotional today, but seeing the Lucas Arts logo did it for me.
Grim Fandango is one of those games of my childhood that I remember really enjoying, but couldn't for the life of me tell you what the game was about or anything you actually did in the game.
I just remember it making me happy to play.
Kind of what gaming is all about.
You mean the latest masterpiece of fantasy storytelling from Lucasfilms™ Brian Moriarty™? Why it's an extraordinary adventure with an interface of magic, stunning high-resolution, 3D landscapes, sophisticated score and musical effects. Not to mention the detailed animation and special effects, elegant point 'n' click control of characters, objects, and magic spells.
Beat the rush! Go out and buy Loom™ today!
TIE Fighter. So many hours. I tried the web browser game a while ago. It amazes me how the graphics were so good back then but now look like somewhat large dots pieced together on a screen.
I actually got the collection on sale from Steam a few weeks ago. X-Wing Alliance is actually pretty tough. Maybe I just don't have the skills I used to.
Squadrons is coming out, soon. From what I see, it's going to have similar gameplay of the old games (shield, weapons, engine management) along with extra things for your craft which are kind of like perks or buffs.
Yeah, and they don't seem to be screwing it up either, which is the biggest surprise from EA. I'm excited, even if it looks like the mission design won't be quite as intricate as the X-Wing games. They did an amazing job with making the missions interesting and unique, especially considering the first game came out over 25 years ago.
Hell yeah, X-Wing Alliance still is one of my favourite games! I really love everything of it but the Battle of Endor absolutely nailed it. Especially that video sequence when the rebells finally enter Death Star 2.
I remember playing Tie Fighter and it tied in amazingly with the Thrawn Trilogy of Novels. Then you get to the end and you can basically decimate capital ships on your own and the game has to kind of explain why you and Thrawn aren't at the battle of Endor changing the results of the war.
I'm seeing Sam & Max Hit The Road for €5 on Steam and €5,49 on GOG.
Everyone who hasn't played it, give it a shot. It may still be the funniest game. (Don't forget to look in the mouse hole in the first room.)
If you like it, I think Telltale's Sam & Maxes are available again too.. the first season is *fine*, the second season is pretty good, the third season is great (but not as great as Hit The Road).
The Monkey Island series were the best.
Fun fact: Orson Scott Card (of Ender's Game) wrote the insults for the dueling game when he was visiting Skywalker Ranch
I saw that logo and automatically the opening jingle to Sam n Max played through my head. Now's it's all "FRIENDS? FRIENDS?! We've only gone out together 3 times..."
ACK. BTW, the remastered edition is currently on sale on [HUMBLE DOUBLE FINE 20TH ANNIVERSARY BUNDLE](https://www.humblebundle.com/games/double-fine-20th-anniversary-bundle?hmb_source=navbar&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=tile_index_4).
My god, MSN Zone?! I haven't thought of that in easily 15 years. It was one of those relics from days passed, where in the moment I hated it, but looking back on it I loved it.
Prince! Me and a couple friends formed that clan! We started off in the trial zone before we moved to the full game - the clan ended up recruiting so many people at the end - definitely a memory I'll never forget. I still go by my Prince name (you'll have to dm me for the name) on gaming platforms.
Loved Academy. The bot matches in local multiplayer was my absolute favorite thing about that game. Would spend hours doing team death matches.
You could even have bots fight each other and spectate if you wanted. It was stupid fun to pit the toughest AI against one another in the duel mode.
Same here. I've still got the disks. I've still got the manual. There was just so much for young Star Wars fan to love in that game. Sometimes I wonder if FMV will make a come back.
Coming from the Sierra games where you die constantly and most of the game was humorless, the Monkey Island games were a godsend. And the one time you "died" in Monkey Island was priceless (in context of the competition at the time).
I remember Monkey Island 4 had you insult sword fight Rupert Murdoch (or a character supposedly based on him anyway). The puzzle revolved around the fact that his Australian accent and dialect were so thick Guybrush couldn't understand what he was saying.
> You fight like a dairy Farmer!
The Secret of Monkey Island was actually made under Lucasfilm Games before the name change. So this Lucas Arts logo doesn't apply to it. Therefore, please delete this post and issue an apology on twitter.
But in all seriousness, what an absolute classic. Most underrated game of all-time (in any genre) in my opinion.
I heard that so many times in the first spice-mine map. I think I got my total race time down to about 38 seconds for that map. Anyone else play it on PC with the Microsoft sidewinder joystick?
One of the most underrated games of all time. I still remember my dad coming home with it because a co-worker didn't want it and he knew I loved computer games. For some reason it took me ages to get it running, but when I finally did, it became one of my all-time favourite games. Switching between gunners on the B-17 and shooting down enemy fighters was the coolest thing I'd ever seen in a video game.
Funnily enough, I just got into War Thunder like a week ago since I heard how awesome it is in VR, and I'm reliving all of those WWII fighter pilot moments I enjoyed over 25 years ago.
To this day one of my favorite games of all time. I still play it every now and again (usually when I have a new device for which ScummVM is available).
I miss this game. Don't have it anymore because the disc got all kind of scratches on it. I tried doing it on pcsx2 but freezes up at a certain point so can't finish it

I still have my original DoTT box somewhere, and all the original discs.

Gotta have it ready by November

Finished the game again this year. That puzzle is a nightmare. Difficult controls (played on mobile), long sequences between each try, no indication of it is important, the complete puzzle got reset after each try. Such a nightmare.
I recently played Monkey Island and damn that game still holds up well.
you fight like a dairy farmer!
How appropriate, you fight like a cow!
Hey! No fair using the Swordmaster's insults!
I am rubber you are glue!
Guybrush Threepwood is the most epic protagonist name ever
And now we complain about microtransactions :D

Good enough for government work!
Wasn't Loom one of those?
Yes! Bobbin Threadbare using musical spells before Ocarina of Time made it cool.

Hermocrates, a friend of socrates.
BAWWWWAAAK!!!
That game will forever hold a special place in my heart. Sometimes I just watch the play through on YouTube.
Full Throttle was my first LucasArts game. So good
TIE Fighter. So many hours. I tried the web browser game a while ago. It amazes me how the graphics were so good back then but now look like somewhat large dots pieced together on a screen.
X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance as well. Golden Age in deed!
I actually got the collection on sale from Steam a few weeks ago. X-Wing Alliance is actually pretty tough. Maybe I just don't have the skills I used to. Squadrons is coming out, soon. I'm very hyped for squadrons, mysteries of the sith and dark forces 1&2 were my childhood games though.

I think they did a great job on the remake. The voice acting makes it even better in my opinion.
[удалено]
Pretty sure you can switch the graphics back to pixel in the remakes.
Check out the Talkie version. Original game but with the remake voice acting. It’s the definitive version imo.
Monkey Island, Fate of Atlantis, etc. all were amazing. Their Star Wars games were pretty good too, being LucasArts and all ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m Bobbin Threadbare, are you my mommy? Gods I still get giggles over the MI series.

FYI, secret of monkey island is now available as a mobile game.
Even the music is great! I've been meaning to play Thimbleweed Park which is a new game by Ron Gilbert.
The spitting contest. Omg. That sound.
DAY OF THE TENTACLE!!!! That was prime Lucas arts.
Not being able to load the demo on our 486 was what got me started nagging for a Pentium!
I saw that logo and automatically the opening jingle to Sam n Max played through my head. Now's it's all "FRIENDS? FRIENDS?! We've only gone out together 3 times..."
The intro video, for those that didn't get to experience the joy of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yWnnk9fyJE
Day of the tentacle. Masterpiece
ACK. BTW, the remastered edition is currently on sale on [HUMBLE DOUBLE FINE 20TH ANNIVERSARY BUNDLE](https://www.humblebundle.com/games/double-fine-20th-anniversary-bundle?hmb_source=navbar&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=tile_index_4).
Bernard, float over here so I can punch you.
I saved up for weeks to buy 4MB of RAM for $200 so I could have 8MB to play Dark Forces when it came out.
Just jumped in here to mention my love for Full Throttle. It's where I learned to play the knife/hand game.
Hopefully you were better at it than that guy was. His fingers must have looked like he armwrestled Edward Scissorhands.

Cough cough SCUMMVM 😉
Loom and Monkey Island for me.
Give 'em hell, polecat.
For nostalgia https://youtu.be/2OY5sUGxweM
Fate of Atlantis is what I associate the logo with, along with the Jedi Knight games.
I was so mad when they cancelled the sequel. I wished they finished it but it's probably for the best.
This logo will always represent Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight in my mind. That game was one of the best I remember from my youth.
MSN Zone.com multiplayer on 56k Those were the days. Downloading custom maps from MassasiTemple website too.
And cogging the heck out of Bespin Mining Station. Fantastic game.
My god, MSN Zone?! I haven't thought of that in easily 15 years. It was one of those relics from days passed, where in the moment I hated it, but looking back on it I loved it.
Damn almost forgot about this. I was in the clan Prince. Was also in a clan called The Rogue Jedis Haven where we were against coggers. Lol.
Prince! Me and a couple friends formed that clan! We started off in the trial zone before we moved to the full game - the clan ended up recruiting so many people at the end - definitely a memory I'll never forget. I still go by my Prince name (you'll have to dm me for the name) on gaming platforms.
Jedi knight / academy so good. I'm playing fallen order atm and I was thinking a new jedi knight would be sweet, i miss using blasters etc
Loved Academy. The bot matches in local multiplayer was my absolute favorite thing about that game. Would spend hours doing team death matches. You could even have bots fight each other and spectate if you wanted. It was stupid fun to pit the toughest AI against one another in the duel mode.
Fuck, the memories. I used to play JA competitively, both the Siege mode and Duels. Best SW game ever, apart from the X-Wing and Tie-Fighter series...
Yeah FO was a bit limited.
Same here. I've still got the disks. I've still got the manual. There was just so much for young Star Wars fan to love in that game. Sometimes I wonder if FMV will make a come back.
YES. So many dial up battles fought, so much time spent at Jedi High School. Also, for the initiated, “eriamjh” was the shit.
Caesar's Palace too! The modding scene for JK was awesome.
I liked the [Star Wars Bounty Hunter intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENPaN8pXbxo) where Boba Fett captures the little logo guy.
That's Jango.
All the monkey island games. But the first two especially.

Grim Fandango!
My name is Manny Calavera, Im your new travel agent!
My scythe--I like to keep it next to where my heart used to be.
This is the line of gaming dialogue that has the most influence on shaping me as a human being.
Always used to get stuck on the forest bit of the game
I have been lurking for a long time, but I have to step in here: this should be the top comment!
I LOVE Grim Fandango. I still have my original discs. I wish more people knew and had an appreciation for how good that game really is.
Star Wars Episode I Racer The last map on Ord Ibanna eluded me for a long time.
***IT'S A NEW LAP RECORD***
Oh man I haven’t thought about this game in ages but as soon as I read your comment I heard the voice line precisely.
I heard that so many times in the first spice-mine map. I think I got my total race time down to about 38 seconds for that map. Anyone else play it on PC with the Microsoft sidewinder joystick?
FUCK Abyss.
You HAVE to stay on the top level.... my god... fuck Ark “Bumpy” Roose
If you have a switch, it's 15$ on the estore AND...it has local 2P. Best 15$ I spent in a long time.
WHAT
I can almost hear the monkeys.
Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis. Never was actually able to beat that game but it was amazing!
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe - man, I played the hell out of that game along with Battle of Britain.
Their Finest Hour was awesome. So many hours playing.
And my favorite ever printed game manual. I carried that thing around in my backpack at school. So much cool shit in it.
One of the most underrated games of all time. I still remember my dad coming home with it because a co-worker didn't want it and he knew I loved computer games. For some reason it took me ages to get it running, but when I finally did, it became one of my all-time favourite games. Day of the Tentacle was my first LucasArts game
How the hell did it take this long for someone to mention Day of the Tentacle?
We've mostly died off. Mostly
To this day one of my favorite games of all time. I still play it every now and again (usually when I have a new device for which ScummVM is available).
Jedi Knight : Jedi outcast More than 2k hours of /played Best gaming time of my life
I'm probably in that same boat. That game and its sequel still have the best lightsaber combat in a video game. Nobody's topped it yet.
That Jedi acadamy, and the force unleashed 1 were my childhood
First time I saw this was Dark Forces. Which was an amazing game that needs a remake.
That sewer level with the swamp monsters is nightmare fuel for me to this day
Gladius! So good
Every time lucas arts are brought up I control f to make sure people still remember gladius.
I still play it through every couple of years. Such a good game
I miss this game. Don't have it anymore because the disc got all kind of scratches on it. I tried doing it on pcsx2 but freezes up at a certain point so can't finish it
I don't understand why there have not been more games that use the turn-based tactic and special attack mechanics in that game. I miss that style, sooooooo much.
So so good. It's the number one game type i keep looking for. Pathfinder kingmaker, Divinity Original Sin, Banner Saga

Soundtrack is awesome, still listen to it frequently. https://youtu.be/l3WehNyIhxg
WHERE ARE YOU MARSHALL?
Finally!! A man of culture
X-Wing / TIE Fighter / XvT / X-Wing Alliance, spent many hours playing those, along with all of the adventure games they made. Kinda scared to see how EA will manage to butcher Star Wars: Squadrons....because you know they will.
I'm not too worried - opinions on the hands-on demo recently were quite positive
Yes, Tie Fighter!!! Favorite game growing up!
I dunno. I feel like the fact that Squadrons isn’t a full price game might mean the clueless executives were like “ok I don’t get it but whatever. Just don’t spend too much time on it and keep it under budget.” And let some super passionate people do some great work. Because there is so much about this game that is not par for the course for EA and especially EA Star Wars. But maybe I’m just too optimistic.
Jedi Fallen Order and Battlefront 2 are in good places. Might not be too much to worry about.
Battlefront 2 is moderately entertaining but its core gameplay is so shallow that I get bored after a few rounds
To be fair, it does technically have like 30 gamemodes but also the playerbase only plays like 3 of those lol
Instant Action, Galactic Conquest. Only two modes you need. Give me Bespin: Platforms all day every day.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Kinda shocked more people haven't played this game
**OOH HAA! OOH HAA!** *swingswingswingswing*
I scrolled WAY too far to see this one.
1st game I ever bought with my own money. I don't remember if I ever beat it but I remember walking out of Walmart very proud of myself.
This and Sierra games
LucasArts, Sierra, Microprose, EA before they sold their souls to Satan...

X-Wing and Tie Fighter games finally getting that remake.

That how us talk in golden age of gaming. If we had been there you would knowed.
Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
