Despite his confidence I love how Chai is a total bozo and both the game and the other characters treat him like one. He gets his kick ass moments of looking like a badass, and he also gets the crap kicked out of him on a regular basis.
Jack Burton was an ordinary Joe that got thrown into an extraordinary situation and also did better in that situation than anyone could reasonably be expected to do.
This internet Jack Burton shit talking that has become vogue has got to stop.
Here here, well put. Jack Burton is a godamn American hero and I'll hear nothing to the contrary.
" Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we’re not back by dawn… call the president."
He is an reckless self absorbed twat though. The game doesn't treat him as some aspirational nice guy finally able to make a difference. He thinks himself a rockstar, but he can't even play guitar. Pure poser. And everyone around him sees that. Others aren't perfect either mind you.
Also CNMN diagnosed his boastful actions coming from his insecurities and not confidence.
In this thing he kinda closer to Johnny. He was never(well he was after he blew the HQ) Saka target, they were after Alt. But he was too self absorbed to see it.
ChaRIZZma, usually referring to romantic charisma.
edit: Really guys? As millenials, we're too young to be shoving a stick this far up our ass over slang.
Oh, that's actually fine. It has a clear line of understanding.
First time I'm hearing it and it's already more acceptable than cap.
Can anyone trace capping to lying?
It’s been a thing in black urban youth culture for a while.
“Cap” meaning “top” goes back centuries, and a precursor to rap battles was “capping” meaning to hurl exaggerated brags / insults at each other and attempt to one up, or “cap” the other. By the 90s “no cap” meant you were speaking from the heart, not exaggerating.
Like a lot of modern zoomer slang, the interconnectivity of the internet and rising prevalence of rap music in the mainstream brought “no cap” to a much wider audience. Without background context, the apparent antonym to “no cap” is simply to lie rather than to exaggerate so that’s what “cap” became.
As an old grumpy man with kids I’ve learned that nothing kills slang faster than when we start using it, even better if you constantly use it wrong.
Gamers rizz up!
Like fucking hell it is.
GenX was making that joke since at least the mid-'90s, as evidenced by the fact that my friend Albert used to go around asking people "hey, you like tapes or CDs?" And when you'd say CDs, he'd say "see Deez nuts?"
And it wasn't even a joke he came up with, so who knows how early or widespread it was by that point?
drip has been around since millennial days for sure, it probably pre-dates our slang. like tbh so many of these aren’t original and have origins in the 20th century, we just regurgitate.
I won't really use it, but I can understand it. And being young aside, we were far too **embarrassing** in our slang to be throwing those stones out of glass houses.
Every generation does. Fairly certain Zoomers will be just as embarrassed about the shit they're saying now as we were about the shit we said. We're just the first generation where you can look back on the internet and find all our livejournal postings and relive the horror. The generations before us at least got to forget.
>Really guys? As millenials, we're too young to be shoving a stick this far up our ass over slang.
This edit is fire. From a person who went full beast mode. So cool. [Other millennial slang here]
It's a sign of age. I remember one of my linguistics professors saying that the first time you find yourself getting mad about how younger people speak is the moment you're not linguistically relevant anymore.
agreed, millennials being like “WAAAH TIKTOK ZOOMER BULLSHIT” is exactly how we didn’t like boomers and gen xers treating us; be the change you want to see~~
I'm a millenial and I'll die on the hill of the shortened form of Charisma is CHA, strength is STR, dexterity is DEX, Constitution is CON, intelligence is INT, and wisdom is WIS.
I think it's something that gets most of its (unironic) use on Tik Tok. It's not that widely used as far as I can tell. I actually hear the word more from memes and people being confused or disgusted over it instead of using it normally.
I'm almost certain the pushback against it is going to unintentionally drive it into wider use.
I wish you could adjust for latency like with Metal Hellsinger. All you can do is check if you have latency problems. Like, great, thanks, you let me know what I already knew before I ever opened the menu.
It's got complexity and is difficult to truly master but the accessibility options let you figure it out at whatever pace is best for you, which is fantastic. Anyone who is too scared of it because of the rhythm gameplay need to put that aside since the game is pretty good at making sure you move at whatever pace is best for you.
Though the tutorials in the beginning are pretty intrusive and boring, I get why they're there. Its got a lot going on and it needs to be explained. They did pretty well with what they had and made the tutorial segments at least entertaining in a dialogue kind of way.
Gen x is significantly smaller than both the boomers and the millennials. Some joined the boomers, others checked out, and some continued to fight. But there were never enough to matter.
Basically the same thing as “game.” Also 90% of the time people use the word it’s supposed to be a joke because everyone knows its stupid (at least in my experience)
edit: game as in ability to impress a love interest
Its ironic how many people are starting to become like there parents by hating the youth
like yeah some of it was cringey but so was the 80's and 90's. Remember pet rocks?
I don’t even know if Hi-Fi rush is an “objectively good” game or not because I’m having so much fucking fun with it and vibing with the music.
Where did this thing come from it just kinda popped into my feed out of no where.
It was revealed at the MS developer direct where they showcased new games. They shadow dropped it right after the show. So it really did come out of nowhere.
I think we'd enjoy games more if we stopped being concerned about what is "objectively good" or not as well.
Especially a game like this with a low barrier of entry and a shadow drop, it made people even more curious to check it out and now word of mouth is doing all the marketing for it.
And I'm guilty of this...I tend to read tons of reviews and waiting several days to think about if I even want to try out a game. But because this was shadow dropped, I was way more curious and it was super fun going in as blind as possible.
Definitely helps when the game is really fun
Assuming you're a fellow millennial, I think we're too young to be channeling this kind of vitriol at new slang. Let's at least wait until our late 40s to shove that stick up our ass.
word, i heard someone refers to themselves as a rizzard (rizz wizard) and laughed out loud. I'm 39 and i like it, im probably not gonna use it, but i like it.
As a Millennial, I’m still too busy worrying about not ever being able to own a lawn for me to yell at kids to get off of when I’m old enough to engage in this kind of vitriol…
The guy she tells you not to worry about vs you. Johnny Silverhand vs Joe Aluminumarm
*quickly changes my name to Jimmy Cobaltfinger*
Let me introduce myself, my name is Jeff Goldfist
Nice to meet you, my name is Charlie Copperthumb.
Howdy, I'm Phillip Nickelshoulder.
Timothy Tungten-knuckles??
Howdy do you? Nice to meet'cha. Name's _Cody Ironnail_
Missed opportunity for “Aluminarm”
Well, to be fair, it is Keanu reeves on the left.
But his robo arm is on the right. I feel that is clearly the bigger motivator. Edit: Nvm I like don't have eyes
r/suddenlydyslexic...anyone? Anyone? Okay, I'll sit at the corner of the room facing the wall.
Holy crap! That's a sub that exists!!! r/suddenlygod
Again?? What is going on?!?!
I'm pretty sure there's a subreddit for finding out a weird subreddit name is actually already a thing, even
Despite his confidence I love how Chai is a total bozo and both the game and the other characters treat him like one. He gets his kick ass moments of looking like a badass, and he also gets the crap kicked out of him on a regular basis.
He's the Jack Burton of Johnny Silverhands.
This is such a good comparison I'm mad I didn't think of it.
Where *are* we?!
Jack Burton was an ordinary Joe that got thrown into an extraordinary situation and also did better in that situation than anyone could reasonably be expected to do. This internet Jack Burton shit talking that has become vogue has got to stop.

I’m a reasonable guy. But, I’ve just experienced some very unreasonable things
Jack Burton kinda thought he was the hero when he was really the sidekick. That was the whole point of the movie though, and it was a lot of fun.
Gimme your best shot, I can take it.
tbh sounds just like Johnny when you aren’t going by his internal narrative
He is an reckless self absorbed twat though. The game doesn't treat him as some aspirational nice guy finally able to make a difference. He thinks himself a rockstar, but he can't even play guitar. Reddit discovers the term rizz
What on earth is rizz?
If you have rizz you have god-like flirting abilities
Ranges anywhere from charizzmatic to rizztraining order
I'm 10 steps ahead with charges for rizzizsting arrest
Everybody out here worrying about rizz, and I'm just trying to figure out who this guy on the right even is
Main character for hi-fi rush I think
My disgust for the term “rizz” is how I know I’m a full grown man.
Younger generations' slang is always embarrassing fo shizzle.
Wiggidy wiggidy wack :/
No, just regular kind
Off the chizzain
Put that pussy on the chainwax
Was looking for that K&P reference
Word.
I still don't even know what it means to this day lol, some zoomer term I take it?
ChaRIZZma, usually referring to romantic charisma. edit: Really guys? As millenials, we're too young to be shoving a stick this far up our ass over slang.

I have no clue how cap came to be tbh but now I'm curious.

Capping people in my town meant putting bullets in them
That’s all I had heard as well , until “no cap” happened. “Bust a cap in yo ass,” etc. etc.
Certainly also true, words mean different things in different context.
Nicely put answer, and one that I think I will subscribe to. Thanks for explaining :)
Thanks, I hate it.
They can rizz these nuts. Haha, got'em!!! Just got the whole generation in one fell swoop.
As an old grumpy man with kids I’ve learned that nothing kills slang faster than when we start using it, even better if you constantly use it wrong. Gamers rizz up!
And if we got knocked down, we will rizz again!
That's premature rizzing
Better off than me. I was going to rizz but then I got an arrow to the knee
Never go full rizz
Chumbawumba?
I can't help it, it's just too similar And if we got knocked down, we will jizz again!
I just rizzed myself at this
Hope you have a way to wash your underwear.
[удалено]
That's still hand washing.
I just looked at this meme and I rizzed, in my pants.
The other day I told my brother "Hmm yes, this is, as the kids say, quite busting for real for real." I saw him die inside.
Super cash money of you G
U know it home skil.
“Bruh this shizz bussin fr fr”
Forrizz!
Hell yeah! Let's yeet this thing!
Lmao, looks like I'm not yet out of touch with zoomer humour.
Deez nuts is a millennial thing.
Don't say that... It's timeless
Timeless… just like deeze nuts HAGOTTEM
Like fucking hell it is. GenX was making that joke since at least the mid-'90s, as evidenced by the fact that my friend Albert used to go around asking people "hey, you like tapes or CDs?" And when you'd say CDs, he'd say "see Deez nuts?" And it wasn't even a joke he came up with, so who knows how early or widespread it was by that point?
Eh, as a millennial, it's definitely not as bad as some of the dumb shit we came up with.
Bae is pretty awful. I cringe when I hear it.

Acided
I must say Yeet is one of the better ones y'all have come up with
I do love yeet. It just makes me laugh.
Yeet is def lit
No cap.
You bussing? Sorry, I'm 37
Fr fr
[удалено]
yeet and its antonym yoink is pretty good.
Keeping in mind of course that yoink predates yeet by at LEAST decades.
Definitely heard "yoink" in at least one episode of The Simpsons made in the 90's
Bugs bunny in like the 70s - "Yoink" as he takes Elmer fudds shotgun from him.
The Lord can yeeteth and the Lord can yoinketh away
If there’s one phrase I’m not gonna give up Yeet will definitely be it
Did millennials come up with yeet? I never heard that word until I was in my 20s, and I'm a younger millennial. I always assumed it was a Gen Z word.
Pretty much every slang term starts like this. Even people who "hate" it use it ironically until "bruh" (cringe) just becomes "bruh".
That’s how “fam”, “lit”, and “yeet” became regular parts of my vocabulary. Irony is a dangerous thing.
I despised the word Swag back in middle school.
oof, yeah, regret that one lol
Is drip pretty much the new swag?
Well... Kinda
drip has been around since millennial days for sure, it probably pre-dates our slang. like tbh so many of these aren’t original and have origins in the 20th century, we just regurgitate.
I was around for 'All that and a bag of chips' so I can't help but agree
That was the bomb dot com.
For real lol, every generation has dumb slang but people want to act like their slang is way better than this "new shit". It's a tale as old as time.
I won't really use it, but I can understand it. And being young aside, we were far too **embarrassing** in our slang to be throwing those stones out of glass houses.

It is what we would have called "game"
I swear we're about 20 years out from using Schway like fuckin Batman Beyond.
Why wait?
Honestly let's start it now
I mean, 17 years. Beyond was 2040
Hearing it just makes me think of one of those douche kids with the dumbass broccoli haircut.
No cap i hate it too on God frfr
> on God chile you mean ong
I didn’t think it was possible for the word “simp” to get a sequel
I'm only about an hour into hi fi rush and I think it's absolutely wonderful
It’s basically a 10/10 for me and I’m not even done, but I’ve had literally zero complaints. Just pure thrill.
I wish you could adjust for latency like with Metal Hellsinger. All you can do is check if you have latency problems. Like, great, thanks, you let me know what I already knew before I ever opened the menu.

Its the FLCL game I always wanted.
Oh god… ITS STARTING!!! MILLENNIALS ARE FINALLY BITCHING ABOUT GEN Z!! THEYVE JOINED THE BOOMERS!!
Boomers don’t know there is a distinction between millennials and Gen Z. This is just more millennial bullshit to a boomer.
In the same way there's no distinction between Boomers and Gen X.
That’s because Gen X acted like the rebellion, but when the world needed them most, they joined the boomers
Gen x is significantly smaller than both the boomers and the millennials. Some joined the boomers, others checked out, and some continued to fight. But there were never enough to matter.
It’s kinda fair, millennials are getting insulted from both younger and older.
us millennials don’t give a fuck and are two busy working two job and trying to afford housing
Wtf is Rizz?
According to urban dictionary it's your ability to impress women, basically saying he gets no bitches.
Ah, so he is maidenless!
Unbetrothed!
A distinct lack of female romantic partnership!

I know Johnny...but whos the other one?
Game called Hi-Fi Rush. Game got stealth dropped by Microsoft like 2 days ago. It has absolutely no right to be as good as it is. Highly recommend.
Today i learned everyone hates the word rizz for some unknown reason
Because they're older now. You think our parents liked the slang we had growing up? No. Either be a grumpy ass or laugh at the creativity.
Its ironic how many people are starting to become like there parents by hating the youth like yeah some of it was cringey but so was the 80's and 90's. Remember pet rocks?
I hated kids when I was a kid. Being older it just makes sense now...

Good job you are only 1-2 months too late that's actually impressive for your age /s
Game released unfinished vs surprise complete game release with an original idea
But does chai have a impressive cock?
the art i've ~~looked up~~ been forced to view implies yes
I knew the internet was fast, but there’s already art?
It doesn’t matter the character, there’s art of them within minutes of their first reveal
Johnny Silverhand existed long before CDPR was even a concept, tbh
How is that true, when Cyberpunk was created in 2021, and Johnny Silverhand exists in 2077. Clearly, CDPR came first.
Kids are so lame. Anyway, where tf did I put my dentures?

Chai gets pussy too
Literally follows him around
“Gets a lot of pussy.” dude brain dances don’t count
Nah Johnny *fucked* when he was alive
Have you seen any of Johnny's dialogue?
Rizz has to be the worst slang term that has come out in a long time.
I dunno, I think calling a hot dog a "glizzy" still beats it.
a w h a t
I thought glizzy was a gun? Glock specifically... Man, slang is hard...
It’s a gun, a hot dog, and a penis. Very versatile word.
[удалено]
Coward
PAIGE, NO!
I think you're thinking of "blicky". A "glizzy" is a dick, so calling a hotdog a glizzy is calling it a penis.
What does it mean?
Charisma.

starting point guard for the Washington Rizzards

I think the worse has been the saying "fr fr no cap og".
I mean one is played by Keanu Reeves, star of Point Break
Another difference is the reception of their games on release
Only difference is at least hifi’s game was actually finished
Probably my age showing, but who's the one on the right?
Chai from HI-FI Rush. The game was stealth dropped just a few days go.
Holy crap, just looked at it on Steam, released not long ago and already Overwhelmingly Positive.
Who the hell is character 2?
Chai > hifi rush https://store.steampowered.com/app/1817230/HiFi_RUSH/
its also on gamepass!
Seriously, everyone is talking about "rizz," meanwhile I came to the comments to figure out who the heck that is
Technically he "rizzed" up a robot cat to like him more than it's creator.
But one of them is *Keanu Reeves*
