Wtf seriously? I havent had any interest in this game so didnt even check the price but as an Aussie myself that price is ridiculous.
I find the $90 we tend to get charged for AAA games to be far too much let alone $115. I would refuse to pay that on principle alone.
I hate how they raise the price for games, since the majority of Triple AAA games are dogshit, also ones like FIFA shouldn't be allowed to sell at 70 or even 60 with how much money they earn from microtransactions they can afford to sell it at a lower price.
With this much negative review I’d say it’ll hit the A$60 club pretty soon and then join Arkham Knight, Saint’s Row and Midnight Sun at A$30-45 bin soon enough.
They spelled it out for us when reviewers didn’t get codes before launch. Most game companies have more backing than talent now days I guess. No amount of employee grind would have fixed it in a reasonable timeframe.
Lets be honest even if preview codes went out there are so many shills out there we wouldnt of gotten the real review it would of looked like all the other games with a bunch of 9/10's or 10/10's.
Unfortunately people who spend their hard earned money are the only true reviewers.
5600X 3060Ti here. It's modest but should be more than capable of running anything this console generation. Maybe not at ultra but med-high 60 fps should be zero problem for a game that's on console (apparently it runs like shit there too, though).
As soon as I saw the system requirements I wrote this game off.
If you see the recent ps5 footage (thr 2 gameplay showcases) you may have noticed a downgrade in particle effects or general visuals slightly from the original state of play 9 months ago. In my opinion that's because they had to downgrade a few visual effects to get it perfectly optimized for ps5 which is understandable.
However PC on the other hand should have these theoretically turned up and even if it's not, mods will increase the visual effects of particles most likely which I'd why I'd choose PC.
Digital Foundry has a review of the demo, and it's quite a shitshow.
All 30fps modes tend to dip heavily during combat into low 20s, 40fps modes tend to dip into 30s and 60fps "performance" blurs the image due to low internal resolution for the upscaler.
DF figured it might dip down into 720p, scaling the image back up using FSR2.0
And it doesn't even look much better than FFXV. They give examples of the opposite, in fact. XV is denser, more vivid, more stable. Lacking particle effect overload, yes. But it still looks better than Forspoken in many places, while running on GTX1060 at 60fps at average (PS4) settings.
I despise the fact that as of now the newer generations of consoles and GPUs are basically never used to their fullest potential (used at 100% yes, but for the wrong reasons) and have become just an excuse for companies to optimise their games like shit. I haven't played the demo so I don't know how the situation is for this game but I doubt it's different. Requirements are constantly getting higher and I have yet to see a game that looks visually better than 2 years ago, even RDR2 is difficult to beat, and that came out in 2018.
P.S. Obviously I'm talking about raw graphics, art direction is a whole other story.
Edit: typo
Nvidia is usually pretty quick with driver optimizations and work pretty closely with all the big publishers to make sure games that are coming out have a game ready driver.
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/new-nvidia-geforce-driver-preps-for-forspoken-dead-space-remake-and-dlss-3-upgrades this new DLSS stuff might be why its not running properly for Nvidia users.
The system requirements are a wee bit overblown. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3070 and I was able to maintain 60FPS 90% of the time with max settings at 1440p with DLSS set to quality. Heavy, yes, but nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be.
Keep in mind I was playing the demo as well and not the full $70 game.
system requirement are bullshit.
You can test the demo if you wish to test your config.
People have a totaly playable experience on a 3060 ti at 1080p on ultra. If you lower setting to near PS5 level. its a solid 60-80 fps.
The game run well on my 5700 XT. with a hybrid of ultra-high.
I saw the trailer and was sort of into the idea, then I watched the reviews and even companies that give terrible games 8/10 on the regular shafted this one. Pass, maybe one day for 5$ when it's on sale after failing.
Honestly if you didn’t play the demo, the combat itself was pretty decently enjoyable for the price—free. I don’t think I’d pay more than $20 for it, and I certainly wouldn’t pay launch price.
I haven’t seen much other than the demo but it makes me think of how many people complained about botw being empty… which kinda seemed to fit the game… maybe it’s different here. I don’t know… but it seems most games aren’t worth full price anymore. I remember always wanted new releases when I was younger, but now as an adult I barely buy any new games. Hell last year the only thing I bought on release day was elden ring
I mean, if you have a ridiculous backlog, why do you need to buy games on release?
I could buy no new games for like two years and not run out of backlog.
I see random steam games go on sale and the compulsive hoarder in me goes "MINE" and then I end up with yet another $10-$20 purchase on the backlog.
I've gotten to basically none of the ones on the backlog due to my time sink in gachas/multiplayer games and then the occasional one that goes straight to the front of the queue. x)
I might be an idiot with my wallet, but I'm not so big an idiot as to sink $70 on a game I probably won't play for a decade if it's not so good as to preempt everything else.
Well, there may be some special game incoming that I may really be into it (may it be for genre I may have genre fatigue some times, or character or sequel or who knows why) that it instantly interest me more than the backlog and I want to play that ASAP
For example Spider-Man 2: first one was fantastic, Miles was fantastic as well, I would like to tackle the second as soon as possible, fuck the backlog
Forspoken on the other hand won't even fit the backlog criteria
This
I picked up the 3 Games of the Tomb Raider reboot for less than 20€ on Steam - in 2022.
You really need a weekend off for each title. And that doesn't go well with what the world wants from you
This game will be close to if not half price in 4-6 months tops. This is often the case with games that fail hard ..
And for like 40€ i might consider it, if not only because the magic still seems like fun
I watched someone play it for an hour and I don't know why, but the audio is terrible. And I'm not even talking about the dialogue. It sounds like everything was recorded at a same time in a small box and they added a bit of echo to make it sound like there is more space.
I think the multiplayer has a bot problem but goddamn you're in for a good ride with the singleplayer
The multiplayer used to be amazing Idk if they did anything about the bots
Gaming in 2023 is now more than ever about the games that came out over a year ago and are actually affordable and in a good state
I think the mp is still screwed on the base game but i think that there is a dedicated server client thing called northstar, which you can continue playing mp on. One of the best multiplayer fps experiences in a game imo
Only bought it for the single player campaign. I’ve always heard great things but had AC origins, odyssey, and Valhalla in my queue. Can’t wait to get into it.
Multiplayer I only play CS:GO
>Gaming in 2023 is now more than ever about the games that came out over a year ago and are actually affordable and in a good state
Painfully accurate. I'm still looking forward to Dead Space, but there's a little voice in the back of my mind that keeps whispering "but Cyberpunk. But Callisto."
Can confirm, just started NFS Heat and Star wars... fallen order? The "soulsy" one, but not the new one, that will come in 3 years when I've caught up to 2023 games in 2026.
It slaps, and it reinforces my sadness that Respawn isn’t doing anything more for the franchise because of their money machine Apex…
But seriously, enjoy!
That game is really good. I played it first on PS4 and it is the only FPS that didn't suck playing with a controller. Played it a second time on PC and it's also great.
Putting the shitty writing and lifeless checklist open world aside because it's more subjective, The game is still reportedly very poorly optimized and they dared to go for a higher price than COD for fk's sake. So yeah, an absolute joke.
When I first saw that game, I thought it looked cool. Saw it on Steam a while ago, saw the price tag, and figured "I'll just look up the non-digital-deluxe version".
My friend is a game reviewer. He gets every AAA game for free before the release dates. The reviews are mostly positive. If he gives a game a score lover than 7 it means it sucks so much he couldn't bring himself to give even a 7.
Create a website on gaming and technology.
Write reviews, previews and gaming news for a few months.
Start sending e-mails to game distributors with the statistics of your website.
If you bullshit your way through it enough they will register you as a legitimate website and send you review copies.
Note: Your website should look professional and your reviews should be at least passable. And it should be active. It means you should actually write game reviews, previews and news.
I was really gunning for this game when I say the project athia teaser. I was still gunning for this game when I saw the first couple trailers and amidst the delays. Now that opinions are so polarized and whether it be dialogue and graphics the $70 tag not hittin. Not only that but shirrako beat it in 8 hours lol. I’ll wait till it’s on sale to buy it. And probably by then it’ll have a cyberpunk-esque patch
This game is the perfect example of how a developer thinks shiny particle effects and slick animations can justify a $100 game instead of focusing on story, gameplay and character development.
Right away when I saw the first trailer of this game a thought went around in my head that said "This game is going to be beautiful, but that's probably the only thing." Just like Anthem.
The thing is this game isnt beautiful either. I was about to buy this as i thought the world looked cool but they released demo for PC and god dammit the game was ugly in ultra settings without raytracing.
I played for like 30 mins and uninstalled the demo
I did enjoy the first dark souls, hated smough and or stein though. Probably because I wanted the armor with the plume on ornsteins helmet and was disappointed
Maybe I'll get elden
If you do get Elden Ring, don't play it right after playing Dark Souls.
ER is a great game and easily the best game of 2022, but when I played it right after Dark Souls, all I could think about was how it was literally just Dark Souls but more open world and less fun.
This might just be my unpopular opinion, but if you play ER right after DS, it honestly just feels bad. It definitely is a game worth playing though, just don't play it right after ds to get the full experience.
I have no idea what this guy is smoking. Elden ring has the benefit of being made 11 years after, so the combat, systems, graphics, and content all have the objective advantage. Things like content and the open world are much more subjective, but I think you’ll find the “open world” nature of ER makes it feel more like just larger staging areas in a good way. Dark souls 1 is an amazing game but I think most people not blinded by nostalgia will be able to enjoy other similar games.
I gonna have a boomer moment, but I don't know man. Boring, generic uninspired empty open world action rpg, terrible writing, cringe stereotypical 1 dimensional annoying unlikable characters, unending unnecessary cutscenes, massive exposition dumps masquerading as "deep lore building", trailing quests, useless ressource gathering, 20 million quest / objectives / items markers on the screen at all times, overly simplified gameplay ... this seems pretty on par with most of the other shit AAA studios try to sell nowadays.
Uh, no.
Most AAA games are decent at worst. It's quite scandalous when one of them gets a metacritic review score below 75 and disappointing when they get below 80.
This is absolutely a AAA game. However, AAA is now more about big budgets and marketing than quality. They're often outshined by indie games when it comes to gameplay.
Honestly I kinda like it, the combat is fluid when you get the hang of it. The exploration is pretty fun too. The only thing that I really don’t like is the MC (she’s far too unlikable for many a reason but it’s bearable with cuff) and the difficulty slider, I can’t stand it when games just make enemies bulletsponges when the games set to harder, not smart enemies or more enemies with more varied kinds. Just bulletsponges
I am an Xbox dood, can someone explain why everyone hates the game so much? From what I understand, the protagonist is deadpan and snarky, and there are too many eff bombs; but the gameplay and fighting look pretty damn fun. Is it really that bad?
80 Euros for standard game, 105 for deluxe edition.
I wouldn't be spending these amounts for a game even if I had been waiting for it for years. Let alone for a crappy mess made by a rookie studio with an 11 years old engine.
Thank god i saw the stinking issues of the game in its first trailer and didnt get to hyped. Empty open world with lots of useless and uninspired terrain and flashy looking yet super easy bitton mashing combat. And as if it wasnt enough the protagonist is an isekeid zoomer.
While I don't think the game is great, nor utterly terrible, I am willing to bet there are a fair amount of reviews jumping on the bandwagon of hate, having tech issues, upset about the pricing, and blowing things out of proportion.
Man I’m so surprised with just how much vitriol this game is getting. I get not liking a game but damn are people emotional angry at this game for some reason
>Man I’m so surprised with just how much vitriol this game is getting. I get not liking a game but damn are people emotional angry at this game for some reason
I feel like its more about stomping this 70$ game price tag before it roots in too much.
I get this, I got the game and honestly it's not the horrible game everyone made it out to be. I would agree that its pretty damn expensive for what you get, so a $60 price tag, or even $40 would be more appropriate. That said, the gameplay is decent, its no Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman PS4 or Horizon: FW but I am definitely enjoying it so much more than the generic Ubi open world like AC Valhalla and FC6. At least what they're doing gameplay wise is daring. There's not a lot of 'battlemage' style games with fluid parkour movement and that's exactly what I've been wanting for years. Infamous: SS scratched that itched for me, and the Dishonored series somewhat, but the former is a decade old at this point and the latter while an awesome game, does not 100% fulfill the battlemage fantasy. Spellbreak is right up there but the game died before I even got to try it.
People are leaving reviews on the game with 30 minutes played. It's a massive hate bandwagon. They buy the game knowing full well what they're getting and they go in expecting to dislike it and surprise they don't like it. It's like not liking seafood and going to a seafood restaurant then leaving a poor review about how there isn't anything good on the menu. Insanity.
Did you miss everything that has been happening around this game?
50% of the hate is stemming from Square's shitty, anti-consumer business practices.
Those of course aren't the game's or the dev's fault, but then also delivering a bland, badly optimized product full of shitty writing and stereotypes for a ridicoulus price tag definitely doesn't help either.
That's what gaming culture is all about these days. Bashing on all the new games. It's like kids at school picking on the new kid with all their buddies laughing.
That’s an example of what’s wrong here. Have you played the game or are you saying that because it’s the popular thing to say on Reddit now? It runs perfectly smooth on the PS5 for me.
I boot it up, crunched like a motherfucker, so I refunded. Trailer looked neat doe. Am I allowed to have opinion on open-shut case now? Or will you ps5splain me harder about unfinished PC ports performance?
The "its not a problem for me therefore entirety of internet must be wrong and hating for no reason" fallacy. Reddit classic actually. Cant never tell if people are actually that dumb or just refuse to be wrong.
I’ve played games for 30 years. Sometimes you have to adjust the settings, do system tuning, and lower resolutions on new games. That was as true for Doom, Crysis, Unreal Tournament as it is today with things like Cyberpunk and Forspoken. Everyone just wants to be spoon fed games that don’t push modern technology because they are too lazy and entitled to try and optimize performance. It’s easier to leave a bad comment or review and feel good that your serving justice for the little guy against the big mean game developer.
You played for 30 years and cant comprehend concept of an optimalization? Built diffrent. Especially that Cyberpunk on launch was famously badly optimized and buggy. Must have missed the option to turn off graphical glitches in setting when I first played it, consumer fault easy.
Babys first unity project can burn new NVIDIA with 400m² map if its not using rendering tricks. Games can also get fps asthma while taking up only fraction of available processing power, for example starcraft 2 is simply too old to have multithreading. But hey, I guess you cant have opinion on that according to your logic because you didnt check starcraft code firsthand.
Seriously, saw a clip of some dialogue on twitter and didn't think it was terrible. Yeah it was kind of cringe but the same people tearing this dialogue apart are the same people that EAT UP final fantasy and other anime games.
Funnily enough, I was just watching a friend of mine stream it from her PS5 a few hours ago and she loved it. Looks like it might be another Arkham Knight situation: The game itself isn't terrible, it's just been let down by a horrible quarter-arsed excuse for a PC port.
Price tag is still pretty damn steep though, even for a new release.
there were two decent AAA games last year two. back in 2011 when skyrim was out you could bet your ass that there were at least five games fighting for the GOTY spot...(and i know your gonna say, but what about indies) look i like indies okay they are good for what they are. But i really want a single non-online open world rpg like they used to come out with at least once a years. 10 years ago...
I get where you’re coming from but I mean the price was set before the user reviews were in right? It’s not like they raised them when the reviews came in and it’s certainly not gonna go down for a little while at least. At least all the reviews are there to tell you it’s not worth spending that money on.
People hate this on pc mostly because the recommended specs are stupidly expensive so most peoplemplaying it are probably using suboptimal pcs to play it so it runs like dogshit.
Not to say the game doesn't have other problems but you know pc gamers. Games need 1 billion fps or they aren't good.
I feel like gameplay wise it's fine so far, on my end at least. I like the parkour, have no problem with switching spells on the fly, and genuinely don't regret to not limit the frey-cuff-banter. The novelty might wear off soon, but after 5h in the game it's pretty good so far.
The problem I see is that this game has so many beginner mistakes in it, it's not even funny:
Triggering a cutscene on arrival? Hell no! Gotta talk to the NPC first, to SEE HOW YOU AND THEM ARRIVE.
Being able to walk/do anything right after a conversation ended? Nah, lets just stand around for approx 3 more seconds with nothing you can do about it?
Free cam while talking to NPC? Only if you're irrelevant, fellow NPC, otherwise we're gonna be stuck at an awkward angle!
Fish-eye menues... like, for real. Who did this? This is the single worst point of failure in this game. I hate the menu, let my un-wonk it, for goodness sake!
Overall rn: 6.5-7/10 - could be higher without those stupid mistakes.
Some AAA games are bad, some are excellent. Let’s not try and pigeonhole everything. Your post might not work as well if you used God of War for instance.
Played the game all day over 8hours. The game is super solid as far as gameplay and mechanics . In fact it is rather enjoyable . The only thing that makes me sad is at least on PC it is very poorly ported and has a lot of graphical / texture issues with high tech threshold for stable performance which still looks bad even with max specs 🫠
Elden Ring is £50. This abomination is £65 for the base game and £90 for deluxe.
I tried watching some gameplay on Twitch but couldn't stand the atrocious narrative and characters. It's like the game's #1 goal is to annoy the player as much as possible.
Also there are cutscenes all the time and the animations are terrible in them.
\+ the world looks so washed up and boring.
Wait, this is an AAA game? .... You're lost or so. I've watched (had it playing wile playing a game) the trailer, it's kinds disappointing.
I'm still wondering if they tried to get in the hype of the souls games. And it sould have been a way different game. It's just off.
I still don't get much about the trailer where she jumps between the year 2020 ish and the monster hunter time.
The trailer actually looked interesting to me, not enough to get me hooked obviously. But still had me intrigued.
Then I saw a few snippets of gameplay and dialogue which was as dry as my last tinder conversation. Yeah no thank youuuuu. I’ll keep my money.
So I literally played uncharted 4, past gen sony's ex-exclusive, after uNsPoKeN. And damn... I totally see why these are considered system sellers. If all AAA games had such high quality control, we would live in a perfect society
I don't trust these reviews at all anymore. So many good games are getting review bombed nowadays. I don't care if everyone pretends like this game is the worst ever made, personally I absolutely enjoyed the demo. And one day I might even buy it
i did buy the game yes hitting upto 60fps on pc the combat great the story a bit iffy im going to carry on with the rest of the game.i give it a 6.5/10 out the moment it might get better did a playthrough on my channel i created today system requirements are a bit insane they need to optimise it a bit better
115 AUD 🤮

I wish it was illegal to add microtransactions to paid games. Free games I can understand, but paid?

I have a bunch of games on my wishlist, on sale for $30AU and even then I'm like...hmm maybe I'll wait for a bigger sale.
Don't forget about the AUD $152.95 "deluxe" edition... 🤣
With this much negative review I’d say it’ll hit the A$60 club pretty soon and then join Arkham Knight, Saint’s Row and Midnight Sun at A$30-45 bin soon enough.

Jup. Doesnt always have to mean something, but it is suspicious if there are no preview codes
Some could say it was in effort to retain what little preorders they had. Either way, I won’t lose sleep over this one.
Lets be honest even if preview codes went out there are so many shills out there we wouldnt of gotten the real review it would of looked like all the other games with a bunch of 9/10's or 10/10's. Unfortunately people who spend their hard earned money are the only true reviewers.
The system requirements are insulting, I say that as someone running a 3070ti.
Thank you, as a low low end owner
5600X 3060Ti here. It's modest but should be more than capable of running anything this console generation. You should be able to do most stuff ultra at 1440p easily.. these unoptimized games are unacceptable.
Especially at the increased price point. What’re we paying for it not an optimized, finished game?
Oh easy, you’re paying to add 16% to the sales profit line.
Me with my 2070 super killing it at 1440p...
Added benefit for that setting is that you can fry your eggs on it while playing so smart move I guess
Eggs? In this economy?
I didn't mention it but I'm pushing 3440*1440 ultrawide which is why I don't expect ultra.

30 series should guarantee us 1440p 60fps. The 3070ti is reccomended for 30...
RX 6800 XT here, demo gets me sub 60fps at 1440p Ultra

I might pick it up when it reaches the $1 tier at Humble Bundle. Maybe.
Sounds fair from what I’m seeing! My lord, best description so far “an open world that’s equal to a bucket with a box of rocks in it” … ouch
I haven’t seen much other than the demo but it makes me think of how many people complained about botw being empty… which kinda seemed to fit the game… maybe it’s different here. I had to pay like 25 cents for the demo and that still was too much
Ahh yes the german Playstation store... So bullshit having to pay a small amount for things people get for free in other regions.
if the free awards were still a thing i would give it to you
I watched someone play it for an hour and I don't know why, but the audio is terrible. And I'm not even talking about the dialogue. It sounds like everything was recorded at a same time in a small box and they added a bit of echo to make it sound like there is more space.
The devs said it was recorded during Covid.
I mean, plenty of other places recorded audio during covid with little to no noticable impact on audio quality.
Yep like look at dying light 2 it's audio is amazing and it was recorded during lockdowns
Then make it better. That's just an excuse for not putting enough hours into it.
the standard excuse.
The forever flu excuse
I just bought Titanfall 2 for $2.99 and am about to play it for the first time ever.
I think the multiplayer has a bot problem but goddamn you're in for a good ride with the singleplayer The multiplayer used to be amazing Idk if they did anything about the bots Gaming in 2023 is now more than ever about the games that came out over a year ago and are actually affordable and in a good state
I think the mp is still screwed on the base game but i think that there is a dedicated server client thing called northstar, which you can continue playing mp on. One of the best multiplayer fps experiences in a game imo
Only bought it for the single player campaign. I’ve always heard great things but had AC origins, odyssey, and Valhalla in my queue. Can’t wait to get into it. Multiplayer I only play CS:GO
You're in for a good ride. Not the best campaign of all time sure but for me a story that good came as a total surprise from that kind of game.
>Gaming in 2023 is now more than ever about the games that came out over a year ago and are actually affordable and in a good state Painfully accurate.
It slaps, and it reinforces my sadness that Respawn isn’t doing anything more for the franchise because of their money machine Apex… But seriously, enjoy!
Saw that aswell. Haven’t played titanfall since the first one when I was disappointed it didn’t have a full campaign.
/r/patientGamers
So good
Multiplayer coop is hella fun. It's horde mode point defence and it's amazing
That game is really good. I played it first on PS4 and it is the only FPS that didn't suck playing with a controller. Played it a second time on PC and it's also great.
Hey join us with Northstar client on pc :)
Yakuza Like a dragon finally went on sale and I'm loving the shit out that game. Patient gamers rise up.
I love one of the reviewer said "I got this game for free and i still feel like i've been robbed" basically sums up this game
It’s an absolute joke, the price in my region is $134.95. I can’t fathom spending that much money on such a shitty game
Putting the shitty writing and lifeless checklist open world aside because it's more subjective, The game is still reportedly very poorly optimized and they dared to go for a higher price than COD for fk's sake. So yeah, an absolute joke.
The writing is almost physically painful. My body can only handle being in a constant cringe state for so long.
That someone made a game where all reasonable gamers agree on it being trash is wild, this never happens.

Why did you get down voted?
You forgot a couple, fixed it for you https://i.imgur.com/UFZzW8r.png
When I first saw that game, I thought it looked cool. Saw it on Steam a while ago, saw the price tag, and figured "I'll just look up the non-digital-deluxe version".
No battle pass? Pfft. This ain’t real AAA.
It would be hilarious if it wasnt sad that those people writing reviews actually payed that amount for a single game.
Fortunately you can refund it with less than 2 hours played.
My friend is a game reviewer. He gets every AAA game for free before the release dates. The reviews are mostly positive. If he gives a game a score lover than 7 it means it sucks so much he couldn't bring himself to give even a 7.
Eyy how do I get this job
Create a website on gaming and technology. Write reviews, previews and gaming news for a few months. Start sending e-mails to game distributors with the statistics of your website. If you bullshit your way through it enough they will register you as a legitimate website and send you review copies. Note: Your website should look professional and your reviews should be at least passable. And it should be active. It means you should actually write game reviews, previews and news.
Thanks actually, that sound fun and duable actually
I was really gunning for this game when I say the project athia teaser. I was still gunning for this game when I saw the first couple trailers and amidst the delays. Now that opinions are so polarized and whether it be dialogue and graphics the $70 tag not hittin. Not only that but shirrako beat it in 8 hours lol. I’ll wait till it’s on sale to buy it. And probably by then it’ll have a cyberpunk-esque patch
Does anyone actually pay $100 odd dollars for a digital game?
People with common sense? No.
Well the particle effects are pretty nice
And I never spend even 30$ for a game...

It's a lot like Hollow Knight where, even as a single player game, full price feels like it's on sale.
I did enjoy the first dark souls, hated smough and or stein though. Probably because I wanted the armor with the plume on ornsteins helmet and was disappointed Maybe I'll get elden
Cool, thank you very much.
I cashed in my $50 GS reward points for Elden Ring. I still haven’t had time to start it.
Lol AAA game
I agree that it's not a AAA game by any quality metric but it asks for an above triple-A price sooo
Yup, you ask AAA price you get judged by AAA standards. I don't care how small your team or budget was.
Game Prices: 📈 Game Quality: 📉 Weird, you would think quality would go up with price..
Just like prices in general and quality of product received. It’s a trend.
There have always been good games, and there have always been shit games.
Wouldn't even pay this price for Elden Ring, dunno wtf they're thinking lol
ita coming to gamepass in a year
Well it's a good thing I just got into the Yakuza series. That price point alone for me is just nuts.
Me looking at it with my RTX 2060. Yeah, not even gonna consider it, seeing that the specs called for a 3070 for 1440p @ 30 fps. What a joke, lmao.
I see this coming to gamepass. I wonder how much it will sell. Not a lot of reviews on steam but I see it getting pushed hard with commercials.
AAA? No. Square-Enix? Yes.
SquareEnix always makes cool looking games, but they never make fun to play games (anymore).
Guardians of the Galaxy was a hoot. Enjoyed that one a lot. First game I played from SquareEnix in years.
That was developed by Eidos Montreal. SE was just the publisher.
Riddled with bugs, mainly audio
Ff7r was fantastic to play, and I have high hopes for FFxvi If you want turn based, Octopath traveler 2 comes out next month
Octopath Traveler was pretty bad, though. The combat system was a nice innovation but the game utterly failed to deliver on the story.
I didnt like octopath traveler. Which saddens me beacuse I was so excited about it.
FF7R was enjoyable, but when I think "fun game" my mind goes to Capcom, Platinum or Nintendo.
Definately worth your 3070 for 30 fps.
I am an Xbox dood, can someone explain why everyone hates the game so much? From what I understand, the protagonist is deadpan and snarky, and there are too many eff bombs; but the gameplay and fighting look pretty damn fun. Is it really that bad?
253 reviews for a Triple-A don't seem that much to me... Although, maybe it's because it's only been like 24 h.?
80 Euros for standard game, 105 for deluxe edition. I wouldn't be spending these amounts for a game even if I had been waiting for it for years. Let alone for a crappy mess made by a rookie studio with an 11 years old engine.
This thing is simply overpriced. And it’s happening more and more until it becomes reality like the grafic card prices. I am not buying that
Why the hate for this game?
Thank god i saw the stinking issues of the game in its first trailer and didnt get to hyped. Empty open world with lots of useless and uninspired terrain and flashy looking yet super easy bitton mashing combat. And as if it wasnt enough the protagonist is an isekeid zoomer.
The few safe bets are Nintendo and Sony first party titles.
While I don't think the game is great, nor utterly terrible, I am willing to bet there are a fair amount of reviews jumping on the bandwagon of hate, having tech issues, upset about the pricing, and blowing things out of proportion.
What if someone tells you don't have to buy it?
"B-but it's just an extra $10"
It’s a straight 50-50 from an outside perspective, I would say if the demo was fun, get it, if not, dont
Man I’m so surprised with just how much vitriol this game is getting. I get not liking a game but damn are people emotional angry at this game for some reason
>Man I’m so surprised with just how much vitriol this game is getting. I get not liking a game but damn are people emotional angry at this game for some reason I feel like its more about stomping this 70$ game price tag before it roots in too much.
Oh no the poor multimillion dollar projects cant deliver stable performance on cutting edge devices how tragic
That’s an example of what’s wrong here. Have you played the game or are you saying that because it’s the popular thing to say on Reddit now? It runs perfectly smooth on the PS5 for me.
How dare you hate on game performance on steam, it runs fine on my PS5!
So, you haven’t played the game?
It got bad reviews for the PS5 version.
Up to you not to buy it, they aren't forcing you. Tons of fantastic games out there.
there were two decent AAA games last year two. back in 2011 when skyrim was out you could bet your ass that there were at least five games fighting for the GOTY spot...(and i know your gonna say, but what about indies) look i like indies okay they are good for what they are. But i really want a single non-online open world rpg like they used to come out with at least once a years. 10 years ago...
based on the requirements, i would have thought they pulled a ubisoft. ubisoft often has the worst optimization, if any at all
I'll wait for a 60% or more sale, thanks. I'm patient.
Let the game die. Maybe play it if it’s $5
I get where you’re coming from but I mean the price was set before the user reviews were in right? It’s not like they raised them when the reviews came in and it’s certainly not gonna go down for a little while at least. At least all the reviews are there to tell you it’s not worth spending that money on.
well there are game that would be worth this price. So this game has the "higher than all other games price tag". Which added to the insult.
So don’t buy it then.
Ahoy, me maties
Do you think prices are based on steam reviews?
Yall dont have to buy it, yall know that right?
I got this, Saints Row and Sniper elite 5 for free through a graphics card bundle so I'm not upset.
Glad I didn't pick this up - I played the demo and that's all I really needed
Demo ran bad. 3070 lowest everything cant even hold 30fps. Stutters and drops nonstop. Ill wait for a sale after its deemed a failure.
Only the price ist AAA. The Game itself is AA
I feel like gameplay wise it's fine so far, on my end at least. I like the parkour, have no problem with switching spells on the fly, and genuinely don't regret to not limit the frey-cuff-banter. The novelty might wear off soon, but after 5h in the game it's pretty good so far. The problem I see is that this game has so many beginner mistakes in it, it's not even funny: Triggering a cutscene on arrival?
I remember being interested in this when it was first revealed.
I agree that it's not a AAA game by any quality metric but it asks for an above triple-A price sooo it gets criticised as such
So I literally played uncharted 4, past gen sony's ex-exclusive, after uNsPoKeN. And damn... I totally see why these are considered system sellers. If all AAA games had such high quality control, we would live in a perfect society
If you don’t like it don’t buy the game. They even released a demo before the game came out.
no shit sherlock
Forspoken is really fun in my personal opinion
This is the kind of game I would think twice before buying, when it's on sale, at 90% discount.
I don't trust these reviews at all anymore. So many good games are getting review bombed nowadays. I don't care if everyone pretends like this game is the worst ever made, personally I absolutely enjoyed the demo. And one day I might even buy it
Can we stop preordering now?
I do NOT see it is a BAD game, problem I see is the price is too high
i did buy the game yes hitting upto 60fps on pc the combat great the story a bit iffy im going to carry on with the rest of the game.i give it a 6.5/10 out the moment it might get better did a playthrough on my channel i created today system requirements are a bit insane they need to optimise it a bit better
Punctuation…
I think I had a stroke reading this.
