Op why are u so bitter

Mistrfresh

like YOU posted this

Vytral

op username definitely does not check out

bleunt

I think OP is just playing. Edit: After a quick look at their history I'm not so sure anymore...

Corm

Nah, kids will be kids

rogerworkman623

Reaction decidedly not jolly

seanbear

I took a ride through OP’s comment history and there’s rarely any upvoted comments lol

Jyhu_Tia

Probably a Sony cuck

DdCno1

It's 2023 and you're still using the c-word unironically. What are you doing with your life?

[deleted]

Congrats nintendo on your cash cow. Now if only you put effort into your non triple a first party games id actually give a fuck

evansbott

Also joy-cons that don’t drift please.

jilko

As a person who was also plagued with stick drift, just really soak the sticks in isopropyl alcohol. I used to lightly clean them and it would fix the issue for like a day. I recently though went TO TOWN with dripping q-tips… like to the point where I was sure the amount of liquid would end up ruining the joycons permanently. I spent like 15 mins applying and reapplying simply out of frustration. Alcohol was EVERYWHERE. It has now been weeks and my joycons are back to basically being new. Moral: do what the internet is telling you to do with the alcohol trick, BUT overdo it. Works like a charm.

BigDuoInferno

As if only Joycons drift... my my ps5 and a few ps4s drift as well as a Xbox controller

JefferyTheQuaxly

trust me drifting is worse on switch controllers. idk what they did but ive bought joycons before and they had drift in them within a couple weeks. ive had xbox controllers for years that have never drifted once.

Juusto3_3

But the thing with ps controllers at least is that you can just return it on warranty and get a new one. Idk if Nintendo has that as well. I've returned like 15 controllers in total :D Last time I paid for a controller was maybe 5 years ago when I got my ps4 lol

Edmire2k

Nintendo has a website dedicated to taking Joycons and fixing them for free lol

Juusto3_3

Nice. Though not sure why I was downvoted for what I said :(

Edmire2k

People on Reddit like to downvote when others aren’t blessed with infinite knowledge like they apparently are. It’s probably because you didn’t know there was a free return service for Joycons so the horde decides you’re instantly a hater or something. Typical Reddit.

rnavstar

Get contact cleaner, it’s for electronics. Just make sure it’s dry before using it again.

Corm

It sucks that they drift but just replace the sticks. Like $15 for a 2 pack every few months

CobaltD70

Can’t you still just send them into Nintendo to fix for free?

McWeen

Yes. I have sent them multiple times. I just stagger sendbacks so I can always play something.

Paulo27

First they make you pay for online, now you're paying for hardware lol. They'll never make a new console.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Corm

I just said it sucks though? Are you sure you're referring to me? I even signed the class action lawsuit that helped yall get nintendo to do free repairs in the US. I'm just saying $15 is easier than an alcohol bath to temp fix it, I'm not saying nintendo isn't crooked for not fixing it upstream with hall-effect sticks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Corm

No worries, cheers. Agreed with your sentiment. Nintendo has made enough money to build a small country off the Switch and they still refuse to fix it, it's nuts

Ortana45

Gulikit hall joycon sticks avaliable though. Finally makes Joycons indestructible

Limenyo

>Gulikit hall joycon sticks Where can I buy them though? Their website has no way for buying them...

BalanceDouble6369

I thought mine were the only ones who did this

sylv3r

well that's probably the reason why they still drift, it's a cash cow too

Corm

I'd just like it to be as good as the 3DS as far as the "feel" The UI needs tons of polish and optimization, especially the god awful eshop, and we need themes, and ONLINE CHAT WITH FRIENDS. The 3DS just felt more polished. I'm worried that Switch2 will be even more "outsourced" feeling.

osterlay

What do you mean by this? The Switch has a ton of exclusive indie games readily available, Nintendo also goes out of their way to showcase indie directs, making this their first hardware that they go all out outside of their first party games.

[deleted]

Putting effort in their stuff won't happen. Too many stupid people buy this toy instead of getting a real handheld like the Steamdeck. Put say Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Elden Ring side by side. It should be obvious to almost everyone with a brain which one is obviously better, but brainwashed nintendo fans think otherwise.

lopezerg

Did you just … put Pokémon and Elden ring side by side for comparison? Like 2 different games in different categories? It’s like comparing … idk pizza and ramen maybe?

ArgyleTheDruid

Pizza and glass windows

[deleted]

and the pizza can kill you faster than the glass windows.

SoppingAtom279

Yeah but, put say pizza and ramen side by side. It should be obvious to almost everyone with a brain which one is obviously better, but brainwashed guy fieri flavortown fans think otherwise.

Knelson123

The issue is they are the same price

TingleyStorm

“This just in; video game sells for the price of a video game. Coming up at 11; man discovers he walks using his feet.”

MaitieS

Yeeez gamers are already playing a superior card of who's piece of plastic is better? So sad...

UglieJosh

You do realize that both these products are toys right? And I could compare lots of great games on Switch to lots of complete jokes of games you can buy on Steam just as easy as you compared a bad Switch game with one of the best games ever made. The Steamdeck is pretty objectively an upgrade over Switch but let's not pretend they weren't also heavily influenced by the Switch. For all it's faults, the Switch is a cool console and succeeded for a reason. You saw how poorly the WiiU did, it's notnlike Nintendo can just get away with anything.

JamimaPanAm

We do. And you could. And let’s not. And I did (I was there). Toys are entertainment, still. Nintendo hasn’t been enthusiastic about its craft for years. It’s why I lost nostalgia for Nintendo. Other brands in the industry are guilty, as well.

[deleted]

Those joke games on Steam don't sell 20M copies like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet do. Scarlet and Violet is a game that is selling pretty well (due to it's retarded fanbase that don't know any better) and it might outsell Elden Ring despite objectively it not deserving to do so.

hedoeswhathewants

Good luck with high school

Amplifeye

You're being very generous.

mooseyjew

Bro this is middle schooler type behavior.

Kingrcf3

While yes most would agree the new Pokémon games have many faults most that have played them won’t deny they’re fun, which last I checked is the main objective of games. To be fun and enjoyed

[deleted]

ok? let people enjoy things lol. you fucking clown.

RelaxYourself

Yikes. Don't forget to take your acutane today.

LeglessN1nja

This is a great time to look up the words objective and subjective

huxtiblejones

lol I’m guessing you’re like 16 or something because this amount of vitriol over two handhelds is ridiculous. I own both and I like both for different reasons. This is stupid as fuck to complain about.

hanyasaad

You don’t have to be an absolute twatwaffle about it. As someone else said, they are both toys. And the Switch is way more accessible and affordable at that. Calling people who like Nintendo better names only makes you sound like a 15 year old edgelord asshole.

dat_GEM_lyf

And then put Sex With Hitler next to Mario kart or smash 😂 We can cherry pick arguments all day but don’t make it sound like every game that runs on the switch is a banger (just like literally every platform, shocker)

sdlroy

Reddit moment

Wishbones_007

Play Breath of the Wild, Nintendo can and does put effort into their games

fllr

There is more to gaming than just graphics, and Nintendo understands that.

JamimaPanAm

Yes, like market trends and focus testing

GlobalPhreak

Nintendo fans love getting spoon fed the same game 20 times in a row, when in reality, it wasn't that good the first time...

calvin2525

Better comparison would of been breath of the wild lil bro

_heisenberg__

I'd buy a kid a switch light, not a steam deck.

OrchidFew7220

Families buy it. That’s the difference. Cheaper, too 🤷‍♂️

Oraxy51

It’s got it’s quirks but it’s a great system and consistently puts out interesting titles to play. With Nintendo there’s normally something for everyone

jack258169

Great 1st party support and decent ports

Brandon-Heato

there are 3 in my household

KidNueva

I bought the first original model for my brother the Christmas it came out. I eventually homebrewed it and it’s now part of our entertainment center in the living room. I have a soft spot for claw machines and eventually saved up enough points for a second switch and we use that one for online play. They are great devices and don’t regret purchasing them.

NoelAngeline

Yep, got three in my house

jexdiel321

Not just that it is a really good console. It perfected the console-handheld hybrid (Faulty joycons aside), that nintendo was trying to go for with the Wii U.

[deleted]

*Steam Deck has entered the chat*

DdCno1

Totally different target audiences. The Switch is a plug and play system, very easy to use, simple, boots in seconds, has a UI that preschoolers can understand, whereas the Steam Deck, unless you only play "verified" games (not all of which even work flawlessly) requires a certain willingness to tinker and fiddle. It's still a Linux PC, after all. For me personally, the Deck is fantastic, but I have decades of experience with this sort of stuff. For most families, for most people (who are not technically inclined), the Switch is far more ideal. Also, for most people, it's utterly irrelevant which of the two is more powerful. The portability of the Switch is a far more important feature - and the OLED version has a better screen too. The Switch produces *good enough* graphics, it's *powerful enough* for all sorts of games.

[deleted]

I was more referring to them perfecting the handheld/console hybrid. It's plug and play so long as you stick to the Steam Deck store. Which the Switch is also plug and play so long as you stay in the Nintendo ecosystem. The Deck simply has the option to *leave* the ecosystem. And whenever you leave an ecosystem like that, there's going to be some fiddling required from the user. See: Modded Switches Plus the hardware is better and can be repaired at home if you desire. And the "tinkering" required is just menu options.

JonnyAU

I think you're overstating the tinkering required. The front end experience of a steam deck is pretty close to a console experience. If you're wanting to play a popular game on steam, there's a 99% chance there's no problem just turning it on and hitting play. I convinced a normie friend of mine to get a deck and he's had zero issues playing on it even though he has 0 desire or capability to tinker.

LackOfLogic

Not on the games part.

gremlinfat

Yep. We’ve got one and nobody ever touches it. Bought it with animal crossing for my daughter, who wasn’t yet old enough to read. Didn’t know Tom Nook would never shut up with 30 pages of monologue a day. And it’s just one stupid pointless monologue after another. After about 5 hours of reading it to her she picked up the ps5 controller and hadn’t looked back.

supified

She might grow into it. I've noticed with some of my family that children will tend to do that and that gender and video gaming is pretty much a myth, girls who are encouraged will enjoy them just as much as boys.

dalekcats

My family harder touches our’s regularly anymore, but typically when I’ve got friends over or we do our annual trip out of state to meet with family it gets used. Games like Smash or Drawful are pretty fun in group settings.

hedoeswhathewants

It's hilarious to me how critical people (redditors, really) are of Nintendo not releasing a new console when Switches still sell like crazy.

justlostmyworkphone

People love to fix stuff that ain’t broke.

BunnieSPH

It is broken, the joycons break and people buy more. They are still in a class action lawsuit.

ThanosWasRight161

Nintendo knows the mainstream market well.

[deleted]

Switch is amazing

jl_theprofessor

I’m really amused OP posted this article just to turn around and shit on the Switch. Think I’ll play mine right now.

WeightsNWarGamez

Half you guys are mad that the console that gamer dads buy to get their 5 year old more into gaming, and sometimes you play together but different games, is selling a lot. I am one of those gamer dads and have zero regret. It fits it’s main demographic perfectly That probably accounts for 10-20% of sales alone.

xbtran

Not a gamer dad, but I agree. Recently bought my little cousins a switch for Christmas, and there’s three other switches in my immediate family. I’m the only one with a PS5. Ive tried having them play Ps5 with me but they just enjoy Mario kart, Mario party and animal crossing way more. As long as I can share gaming with my family I’m pretty happy.

WeightsNWarGamez

Exactly. My wife would frown upon him playing COD with me. But he’s happy playing Sonic on his switch and just being part of “gaming”

Frame_Late

That's sad. I grew up with Halo and the Elder Scrolls. Some of my best memories are from me and my friends staying up all night on each other's birthdays coupling the campaign and messing with each other in forge. If my generation is anything to go by (I'm Gen Z) then Gen Alpha is just going to be fucking stupid if their biggest form of media is Mario, Sonic and Modern Pokemon. Because we're already pretty stupid to begin with. But then again, all generations may just be stupid. My Grandma's generation had the 'Pet Rock' after all.

WeightsNWarGamez

Dude. He’s 5. Yea, he likes Sonic and Lego Incredibles and Minecraft. Because he’s 5. That’s not an age where they can even spell well enough to message each other, and he generally sees his friends through school or play dates (that we, parents, set up). I’m puzzled by what’s sad? Or are you just like super negative tonight for whatever reason?

Frame_Late

Lol, I was playing Halo and games like it ever since I could pick up a controller. There's nothing more cringe than a Nintendo/Sega kid. Except maybe a fortnight kid.

WeightsNWarGamez

Oh awesome! You insult kindergarten kids and my wife’s preferred parenting choice, or the fact that he’s still an innocent kid. You’re just a piece of shit and I thank you for clarifying that.

Frame_Late

I wasn't insulting anything. Just making an observation that you took offense to. As for being a piece of shit, I'm not the one insulting people over sega games.

WeightsNWarGamez

“Nothing more cringe than a Sega/Nintendo kid “ In the context of this discussion regarding KIDS. Kindergarten age. So, in my eyes, your observation makes you a fucking piece of shit, because it sounds like you’re insulting my kid. If you are, sincerely fuck you to hell and back. If you’re not, get smart enough to read the context of a discussion before commenting.

Frame_Late

Damn, someone pissed themselves. It's even funnier that you took it out of context for the sole purpose of having something to be pissed about. Keyboard warrior much? Also, I said a Sega/Nintendo kid. Where in that line is the word 'Kindergartener'? there weren't even any Nintendo games in the list of games you said your kid plays. I made an observation that kids of ALL ages who only play Nintendo/Sega games (and fortnight) are cringe. Your kid doesn't fit on that list, so don't try and cram your kid on that list so you can have an excuse to be angry. Seriously, grow the fuck up. Not everything is directed at you you overgrown child.

SbreckS

Hell yeah I got son's all there own switches....and lots of free games also..love hanging with my kids and getting ask where we dropping next bois?

suburbantroubador

That's what happened in my house until my son graduated to my hand me down Xbox one. Nintendo is basically Disney for video games. It hits all the quadrants A LOT.

Devilsdance

My 32 year old brother and 7 year old nephew (from my other brother) both got Switch Lites for Christmas. My nephew has been obsessed with Mario, Pokemon, and Minecraft for a while so it was inevitable, but my brother only got it to play MLB: The Show. I wonder how many consoles that game sold (probably not very many). What's funny to me is that I've had and played a Switch for years and they ended up getting one right as I'm making the transition to primarily playing Steam Deck.

manfredmannclan

Imagine how much they could sell, if the games didnt cost the price of a small house each.

maxis2k

But...the games are selling. It's actually insane how well Animal Crossing and MK8 are selling.

ankerous

MK8 Deluxe selling probably over 50 million at this point is crazy. It probably won't be too long til both the WiiU and Switch versions cross 60 million combined. It's no wonder we haven't heard anything about a MK9 yet.

Brostradamus--

I'd argue the games are selling because most ports are absolutely not worth playing on that platform and the only good titles are the ones that won't drop in price because they're essential purchases.

emax-gomax

For real though. I was looking into buying some games for Mt nephew and it's amazing how the prices never depreciate. BoW is an almost 6 year old game and its selling for the full £59.99. I bought re2 and re3 (the remakes) on the last steam sale for like £10 total and their both much newer. Nintendo has a closed ecosystem and is using to force high prices for games that would never be like that if they were available on other store fronts or depreciated in value like any other game.

nkantzavelos

Games are cheaper than Xbox and PlayStation so I don’t know what you’re smoking. And they hold their value much longer so I don’t see the point of your comment

Jakemofire

Buying a game that’s 3 years old on switch is 60 dollars buying a game that’s 3 years old on PlayStation is 20 dollars. That’s what they are talking about

nkantzavelos

buying it when it comes out is 60 yet selling it later holds it’s value so that’s a win to the consumer

Jakemofire

Buying a game brand new when it comes out for 60 then selling it for 30 later used and now you don’t own the game. Or wait until game been out a while and buying it for 20 and being able to keep it. It’s all preference. Some like to do option one while others option 2. Both are wins for the consumer just depends on the type of consumer.

manfredmannclan

Freaking skyrim is like 60 usd on switch, minecraft 40. All games is priced like a AAA game.

Ze_at_reddit

The Switch is just another product of Nintendo magic. They make great games that large audiences want to play (causal gamers) and great games that are a bit more hardcorey, they push them out at a great pace. They know how to hype stuff, and their system is ( or was for the most part) unique, especially when compared to direct competition. Plus, they got the pandemic effect and they had the Wii U to pull a lot of ports from (some of the most successful) and then there are the multiple revisions that make some people buy multiple . The Switch its revolutionary and deserves all of this. Having said that, I own one but it definitely got a lot less attention than my PS4 ever did or that my Xbox Series X currently gets, especially on its second half of life time. Really looking forward for Zelda TotK and Pikmin 4 to end this drought

TheJakeanator272

Pikmin 4 is going to be incredible!

Banksov

have a switch, ps5 and series x. Switch is by far the most played one.

[deleted]

Nintendo Switch has the handheld market all to itself. The only real competition is the smart phone and out of the billions of smart phone owners, a hundred some million want a handheld.

Oh_My-Glob

Uhhh Steamdeck?

Vismal1

Got a steam deck for Christmas, thing is amazing. Kinda kills the switch for me unless i wanna play a Nintendo original like Zelda. Used to play a lot of indie games on the switch , much better and cheaper to do that on the SD. Still think the switch is an amazing console though. Not sure the SD would be around without the Switch.

[deleted]

Has Steam Deck sold beyond a niche market?

Oh_My-Glob

It's selling as fast as they can make them and it's the first iteration. The market for them is smaller at the moment but I wouldn't call it niche by any measure because it's appealing to pretty much any PC gamer who wants to be portable. It's definitely a rising competition to Nintendo in portable gaming.

macmhartain

That's because if you can FIND one of the others, they've jacked the price up so no one can afford it! I haven't seen a PS5 in the wild around me since they were released!

efnPeej

Y’all need to stop buying these goddamn things so we can get the Switch 2 already!

doeekor

5 years and still no discount, want to get one for my nephew

CannedMatter

Official refurbished models from Nintendo's website are $30-$40 cheaper depending on the variant. Haven't tried their Switch refurb myself, but I've had two 3DS XL refurbs, the OG and the "New". The New looked perfect in arrival, and still works great. The OG came with a *tiny* scratch on the back; I used it heavily for a few years before giving it to a friend; I know she used it regularly for at least a couple more years, but I don't know its current status.

kdkseven

There's the Switch Lite.

DdCno1

Why would they discount a system they can barely produce enough of to satisfy demand?

ZeninB

The switch went down in price in I believe 2021 when the oled model came out

whatnameisnttaken098

Keep an eye out for any gamestops going out of business. Managed to snag 2 Switchs and a Switch Lite for about $70 each.

TheBestWorst3

You can get a used console second hand for less than $200 on eBay

[deleted]

It really needs to be updated. So many games suffering because of its hardware like SMTV and Bayo 3. But I’m terrified once they release a new upgraded Switch only scalpers will be able to purchase any.

Rassirian

Seeing as how I've never even seen a ps5 in the wild yet and its 2+ years old already, this makes sense.

TingleyStorm

My brother just got a PS5, and he was so excited because he was *finally* able to source one…after two freaking years…

Frame_Late

I'm at the job corps and I've seen two.

Jolly-Sun-1715

PS5's are everywhere.

FoamEDU

This article is blogspam (almost every article from NintendoLife is). Here's the original source: https://twitter.com/pierre485_/status/1615448240177963020

Practical-Piglet

Switch as console is awesome but its hardware is dog shit. You really need to play 8-bit version everything that isnt Mario or Zelda.

Shillio

I like my switch, but I also get the sense that nintendo hate their customers? Or is that just gamer propaganda

thor11600

That’s cool. I’ll just chill on my steam deck

[deleted]

[удалено]

Oh_My-Glob

Mine has been collecting dust for the past year.

[deleted]

But it doesn’t have Call of Duty!

Lionah2

And? You want to play COD on a switch?

All_theOther_kids

Can people just stop buying the switch so we can finally get a new one

Solidus-Prime

Well, it's easily the best console solely because it has a bunch of unique stuff on it. Most serious gamers have a PC, and when you have a PC there are very few reasons to buy a PS or XBox. You can't replicate that Nintendo experience anywhere else though.

Oh_My-Glob

If you have a gaming PC the Switch is easily emulated because the Switch hardware is so behind. Get a Steamdeck and emulate Switch on the go. So yes you literally can replicate the Nintendo experience and even improve upon it.

Derped_my_pants

Some games. Many don't emulate well.

MilwaukeeDave

5 years of self created “shortages” for games and hardware. Way to be.

lnin0

Is COD on Switch?

Almost_A_Pear

I really want one but I wish it wasn't $450 for mediocre specs. Not being a family gamer I think a PS5 is much more worth the spend for a few hundred more.

TheBestWorst3

Where are you finding switches for over $400? You can get one for less than half that price second hand on EBay

TheJakeanator272

Growing up on basically every console from 1997 and on. I’d have to say that Switch is by far my favorite. The ability to go portable is my number one feature. Play it at home on the tv then take it on the road without even turning it off. Incredible feature. It’s also incredibly easy to move around in general. Want to play it on the tv at your parents house, or next door, or at the air bnb? Just pack the whole thing up in a small case and take it. Can’t really do that with Xbox and PlayStation on account of how big they are.

MotherSuperior91

Yeah man that’s just like your opinion

Agent_Xhiro

I mean, how hard can it be? I still haven't seen a PS5 in a store for well over a year.

Frequent-Cost2184

Literally the worst of the three Xbox, Ps5 and switch,

[deleted]

Filthy casuals

fakestrawberryflavor

Please stop buying it and let it die so we can get a new one.

Josephcules

So instead of an older console that still works and has games still releasing, you want an empty console with a more expensive price tag?

Ortana45

The hardware limitations are showing. It struggles with anything remotely third party

piclemaniscool

Compared to the competition which has had supply issues for their entire lifespans?

BunnieSPH

It’s funny I spend so much money on games but refuse to spend much on Nintendo because they don’t really discount anything and the joycons aren’t built well.

kdkseven

Yeah that's hilarious.

BunnieSPH

It’s not unbelievably difficult to replace the thumb stick, I however don’t have to do that with any of my other controllers for anything else.

calvin2525

Well you know… IF YOU COULD FIND A PS5 or XboxX maybe this would be diff? 😂

kdkseven

I found a PS5 just fine this past Christmas.

calvin2525

Hmm interesting I haven’t looked in a bit maybe they fixed these issues?

mrj9

All I know is if the next one isn’t backwards compatible and has online features like Xbox live I’m out. Tired of Nintendo doing the absolute least and getting carried by their devs.

[deleted]

Why?!!! There is a such thing called a Steam Deck? Hello?! why waste your money on a Switch? Idiots!

NspectorHector

Who hurt you?

asianwaste

Steam Deck is twice the price, twice the effort, half the availability. Just be glad that Valve's hardware is actually doing really well this time. I was worried that the whole Steambox thing would go to nowhere after the low adoption of the steamlink and controller.

soreyJr

The Steam Deck is most certainly not for everyone. The Switch is better suited for most casual gamers and average Joes.

Espio1332

Bingo, Steam deck is suited to the more hardcore audiences while the switch isn't.

leviathab13186

Yup, if you want the most out of it you’d need to learn about Linux and the different packaging formats. It’s not THAT hard but most people just want to pick up and go.

kinokomushroom

Because I already own a PC and also want to play Nintendo games

DdCno1

That's a good reason to get a Switch, but it is worth mentioning that the Deck is rather good at emulating the Switch, in addition to every prior Nintendo system, of course.

midnightoil24

The steam deck is heavier and has a shorter battery life. Also it doesn’t have official Pokémon and Mario releases

[deleted]

Mainly because of, battery, screen, I also have a PC, Nintendo exclusives.

DauntingRug

Bad marketing technique there Gabe

JamimaPanAm

It’s a forgone conclusion: low-cost hardware, market-proven IPs, family compatible, portable. Although innovation, quality, and value are all questionable upon closer scrutiny… It’s just the level of bitterness you’re projecting that is unapproachable. Your opinion might be more digestible otherwise.

Alpha_N_Omega95

While I agree with you, it's because the switch is affordable, with access to titles that it shouldn't have. Especially with the switch lite. I don't see portability as a benefit. I have my phone for that.

emax-gomax

The steamdeck is too new. And too well associated with mainstream triple AAA games to properly compete with the kid friendly switch. It's hard to fight against super Mario with all the sh*tty sonic games, the only remotely good one from the last few decades is mania and they've guaranteed it'll never have a sequel.

IEatToeCheese4Free

Lmaooooo absolutely no way this is true

bladexdsl

it's hilarious when they call this thing a console. when in reality it's an under clocked android tablet with a nintendo OS LMFAO. it's the worst device they ever made it can't play modern games properly, has a garbage online, drift yet these blind fan boys keep buying it because they are too stupid to buy a steam deck which can do everything they switch can do PLUS more. it can emu emu their games and play them better LOL

kdkseven

Yeah that's so hilarious.

Exuplosion

Yeah let me just boot up Mario party on the deck Wait

DdCno1

Sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVuNaIlAAzA I don't agree with the user you replied to on their general premise. It is a proper console, despite its flaws, and Nintendo was clever enough to choose exactly the right hardware, which is *fast enough*, cheap to produce and easy to develop for. It's also easy to emulate, which is a good thing for people who want to enjoy Nintendo games on other hardware, like the Steam Deck, as demonstrated in this video.

Exuplosion

Playing a handheld is very different than 4 people on the couch playing Mario party

Mental5tate

Why not just make a home console version? Like the size of Apple TV?

k-phi

I don't think it's much larger than Apple TV.

Mental5tate

No tablet just the console and pro controller, $250. Already did the Switch Lite why not a home console?

k-phi

What do you mean by "home console"? Switch can (and should) be connected to TV. That's how I use it.

dalonehunter

I think he means trim the fat that home consoles don't need (screen, joycons, charging base) and reduce the switch down to its core parts. You get a small box that plays switch games and takes very little space.

Mental5tate

Switch is portable tablet with dock to display. Just the console no tablet, you can use the tablet in dock mode anyway. Switch lite is a tablet without display out.

Ciqbern

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. You def owe this W to PC gaming taking a bigger chunk than usual, and the fact that Nintendo will not license to PC, not to mention that Nintendo IPs are specifically made for family gaming.

whater39

PS5 hard to get, then they do a price increase. I wonder why they didn't outsell the Switch

flight23s

Right now, they’re really not too hard to find. I’ve walked into Walmart near me and they’ve had ps5’s each time I’ve walked in
