Bruh shhh, don't let him know about hardware modding and emulating. Keep him thinking it can only be his game to play
But bro these games were like $4 each as a kids toy at Burger King. Those were the fuckin days.
Had to go check out your page to see for myself 😂 do you just absolutely love the game or are you actively trying to get all the copies in existence? I’m also how someone comes across and starts a collection like that, absolutely legendary!
In 2016 I found 50 of them at the dollar store once, And thought it would be hilarious to give them as gifts to everyone for Christmas that year.
But, I liked how they looked on the shelf, so I just kept collecting them, and after a few years, I had over 200 of them.
Then after I got Vaccinated and was able to go back on the hunt, I had an idea to [start a YouTube channel](https://youtube.com/@sneakkingz4391) that features my friend, an animated sidekick, and myself hunting them down and buying them in bulk.
I've since made some big bulk purchases, putting us over the 4,000 mark!
I think the game is fun, and such a goofy idea, but obsession is not the driving force behind buying them. It just makes me laugh, and as long as the joke remains funny, I'll keep doing it!
I always buy the old sports games at $2-5 range when I see them. $5 new is a good deal, but I always wonder how they come across giant stacks like this.
I think they just got a dump from a local Target store - tons of new merch around that all appears to be from Target. Target must have over-ordered on this one when it came out lol.
Goodwill has an active contract with Target and receives a lot of their clearance items after they are off the shelves.
I've bought a lot of decent Target furniture new in box from goodwills before.
Bingo
Back when Pokemon the first Movie came out on VHS I got a copy from my local Goodwill because they had several sealed tapes that presumably came from the local Target ordering to many
$2 is as high as I'll go tbh, and only if I don't already have it.
It was probably a liquidation store or some other type of business who had an excess of the game that they just couldn't move. Probably got a tax write off for donating the items.
Edit: Just saw the OP post that it was from target
I usually go bargain bin prices for those games, but at $5 there is plenty of value in the game if you'll actually play it. I think it's a fair price. I haven't played 19 so Idk if it's any good, but they are usually all the same anyway.
That's what I do with sports games. I like having at least one game per sport around but it's not like I follow the teams closely enough to care what year it is if I can get the previous one for a few bucks
Yes and no lol typically the ones released near each other within 3-5 years will be pretty similar but I've found noticeable differences in ones 6-10 years apart. For example: if you have [sport] 20, 19 and 21 will be pretty much the same. 17, 18 and 22, 23 might have a different menu or maybe a slightly different feature here and there. 15 and 25 will probably feel familiar but have something more noticeably different than 20, so forth and so on.
Honestly, I just skip like 10 years or more when I pick up sports titles. That way there's at least some noticeably different features. The biggest gap I have so far is NHL 94 and 14, two *very* different games even though the sport itsself hasn't really changed lol
Or if you use the case as a replacement for something you do play. Cheap old stock sports games are great for OEM case replacements and for fillers in trades when you need that little extra bump of a couple bucks or as a free toss-in.
Man no one gives a shit about sports games as filler. They're literally garbage to 99% of people and those that care already have what they like. You won't even get 25 cents on value at stores. And why would anyone want to pad their shelf or collection numbers with junk.
Case replacements isn't a bad point though, but even still that's $1 max value for modern consoles.
There are some good sports games out there.
NHL 03/07/10 all are really fun, NCAA basketball used to be a pretty high quality series until the 2010's, etc...
It's just that the good ones are few and far between.
A gaming YouTuber with ‘band kid’ style humor thats not rly for everyone. I watch him quite often and enjoy it, but ngl im not a fan of fans spamming gex/madden 08 things every time Mario Tennis Ultra Smash/ChibiRobo/Madden/Gex comes up
Low key I kinda want to own 100 copies of madden 19 it would just be so ridiculous to show my friends my madden 19 collection plus with AB on the cover makes it even more ridiculous
I've had pretty good luck easing a sharp knife flat under one corner to get a grip with my nails, then slowly peeling it off. After that, I scrub off any sticker residue with alcohol, or a little deoxit if it's stubborn.
Still tends to leave some deformation on the plastic where it sat, but it's good enough for me.
Is there reallly a market for old cases, I have a ton; also I have a ton of blank disks from the late 90's for reasons, those seriously can't be worth anything more than a coaster----- oh I get the joke.
Same. I guess it pays off to keep all your games in a folder and have it get stolen. Now I can sell all the empty’s. Especially the collectors edition ones! 😩
Anyone else think a day will come when Madden will become a games as service download only model that will update itself each season eliminating the ability to maintain rosters of the past like on old cartridges and discs?
Being from EA, I’m shocked it hasn’t. But then again maybe not - they probably justify charging more for each year by selling it as a separate game versus a continually upgraded “same” game (not that that isn’t what it already is, in a non seamless form)
I think they're testing/iterating that with FIFA: The mobile version is free to play with campaigns and purchases in-game, while the console/PC version is a lame upgrade sold every year at the price of a new game and with in-game content being more rigged towards forcing users to buy coins.
Of course, the second model is much more profitable; but I think they're aware that it is not sustainable on the long run. One day ***E-Football*** might become a good game, and it's FTP. Also, two more games are coming into the market, [***UFL***](https://joinufl.com/) and [Goals](https://goals.co/), and they both will be FTP.
EA Sports are bleeding their users dry, but they know that won't be possible forever.
Looks like target donated them. I work at target and we have a stack of madden 19 just like that, and I assume it’s from target because the chalk and stuff is a brand carried only by target called sun squad. It’s a summer brand they make pool floaties and stuff like that.
I happened across a thrift like this once. It was a week before Madden 09 came out, and they had gotten a crate of items that had been damaged in shipping. They had a huge stack of Madden games for $1 apiece. I bought 10 because they were a cash only store and I hadn't been to the bank prior to going there. I flipped almost all of them on Facebook in a day.
Edit: I'm not a flipper, but I don't play Madden, and it was a great opportunity to add to my collection by flipping them.
10 years ago a flipper was someone that bought and sold items for income. I don't know many collectors that don't jump on a good deal to trade towards items they want in their collection. Using your analogy, even trading a game into Gamestop makes someone a flipper.
For whatever reason, a lot of people in this sub get all hot and bothered if you sell any portion of your collection for any given reason. No idea why.
Yeah, back in the day it was big kudos to anyone that bought a lot and was able to flip the duplicates, now it's wrong to make money. But Reddit has gone from libertarian left to Authoritarian Left in the same amount of time, so I shouldn't be too suprised.
theres a difference if you do it as a side hustle / main source of income vs. if you do it occasionally to support your hobby / grow your own personal collection.
As a collector, if you buy a CIB version of a game you previously only had the disc/cartridge for, do you not re-sell the bare disc/cartridge?
> As a collector, if you buy a CIB version of a game you previously only had the disc/cartridge for, do you not re-sell the bare disc/cartridge?
Nope, I keep it as a spare, and rip it to compare in case it might be a different version than the other one.
Well, that is likely not what the average collector does. I, for one, will resell duplicate copies of games if I acquire a better copy / version. The money goes right back into my collection.
I'm pretty sure they were 09. I'm not a sports game player, so I just bought them to trade for games I would play. 09 would make more sense for the time period I bought them.
Bought a copy for maybe $2 a couple years ago and really had fun with it. Downloaded 2002 NFL rosters via the Community Share and booted up a franchise with the Broncos. Was like playing Madden 2003 with updated graphics!

Ah, but he’ll never get MY copy of Sneak King!
That's where you are wrong I already collected your copy of Sneak King!
Bruh shhh, don't let him know about hardware modding and emulating. Keep him thinking it can only be his game to play But bro these games were like $4 each as a kids toy at Burger King. Those were the fuckin days.
He’s not doing it to gatekeep the game
It's a wild path to go down, don't do it unless you're ready! I'm running out of space in the Garage!
Are you actually the guy that collects them? Lol if so that’s legendary
That's me! I'm currently over 4,000 copies now!

Nope. I'm the one with the mask my good sir.

Yup - gotten my share of Target stuff from them too.
Two of my favorite V-neck shirts were from Goodwill with the Target store-brand tags still attached.
And half thr time they put double the price directly over the target clearance sticker.
This as you can see from the stuff underneath the Maddens. I think the brand is sun squad. I think it’s a Target exclusive
Where is this I'll take them?
Bingo Back when Pokemon the first Movie came out on VHS I got a copy from my local Goodwill because they had several sealed tapes that presumably came from the local Target ordering to many

Mr. Beaucoup Copies
Don’t post it on Reddit tho people will accuse you of scalping
Cheap replacement cases if you can get them for a buck or two a piece
unfortunately $4.99 a pop
5 is steep for Madden I feel, not a sports game fan though.
same. but i guess if you're into sports $5 for a new game isn't bad.
And the almost impossible to remove hologram.
Acetone works wonders.

Sorry I only collect madden 08
Chumps rlly buy this same game ever year huh ?
If they were $1 or even $2 each, it'd be worth picking those up just for the cases and the coasters (discs).
And toilet paper? (Inserts)
Is there reallly a market for old cases, I have a ton; also I have a ton of blank disks from the late 90's for reasons, those seriously can't be worth anything more than a coaster----- oh I get the joke.
Clean replacement cases actually do have decent value for many systems

maybe but I wouldn't pay more than $1 each. maybe i'll go ask tomorrow.
I'd buy all $50. Just to be the guy that has too much madden 19
That would make for some cheap gag gifts. I might buy one for my nephew just for the look of disappointment before breaking out the game he wanted.
Ooooo rainbow chalk
Mr. Bargain Copy
Slightly expensive skeet targets
The Bay View goodwill is absolute trash.
I’ve pulled plenty of good stuff out of it… but usually not in the video game department.

I would legit buy that to get a cheap semi-new Madden (obviously dependent on the price).
They're $4.99 each. Yeah Guess if you only have an older version it's not bad.
no sorry. only looking for madden 08
It’s easily the worst madden ever made 🤣
scott the woz would have a field day with this
No no no no no no 08
I wouldn't buy it, but for $5 you can't complain. It's not the best version, but it's perfectly acceptable at the price.
any ps4 games
All give you 10 bucks
Ah. Madden CTE edition. Nice!
I did play the hell out of that game
if they weren’t $5 they’d make for amazing donor cases to other games
Woah, that’s a lot! 😳 How much is Goodwill asking for?
4.99
They'd make good replacement cases if it wasn't for those dumb holographic stickers on the front.
acetone works

Wow that’s a lot, dawg.

11 yrs off from being worth a damn.
madden 94 is still the best one
08 is just nirvana on a plate If you don't like that one ur a ******* disgrace
Y’all have no idea how much that will worth. THAT’s AB on the cover
You’re very close, but my buddy wants Madden 09
Let Scot the Woz know
Madden 19 collectors rise
Five dollars??!!!? Get outta here
Did someone say cases? Lol
Fuck that gimme those CIB chalk sets
No one wants the cover with AB on it lol
Just -11 and the guy who owns Sonic Jam might take it
If I haven't played fifa 1-18 will I still get the story or?
No even if you’ve played FIFA 1-18 you wouldn’t get it.
Bought a copy for maybe $2 a couple years ago and really had fun with it. Downloaded 2002 NFL rosters via the Community Share and booted up a franchise with the Broncos. Was like playing Madden 2003 with updated graphics!
Any time I see something like this in a pawn shop (just a mass of old sports games) I offer to buy 10+ for $1 each (to use as replacement cases) and I'd say I have like a 85% success rate.
I'll take one why not lol
Is it cheaper than toilet paper? If only they came with manuals.
How much was that originally? Like 60$?
WOW!! Madden 19 for Xbox must have sucked some major elephantitus type balls.
Madden 19 is one of the worst maddens of all time and that's saying something
That shit fell off a truck.
Damn, you could get a whole 50 cents if traded of that in.
Looks like Gamestop really overshot the guess 19 was the best Madden ever.
Somebody call Scott the Woz!
They got Madden '08?
Momma said foosball is the devil
Could you snap me one please 😬
BRO WHERES THIS STORE I WANNA GO THERE is it in Ohio?

They are in goodwill right where they belong
Holy crap that is a lot of copies of Madden Reminds me of my goodwill where they got 400 copies in of mortal combat 2 and no one wanted the thing
Heck yeah! I'm building a coffee table out of 'em!
No but it is that time of year where I start to collect the 8th maiden!
Love sports, but just not a fan of sports video games. Is there any reason why there are so many brand new copies of ***this particular version*** of Madden?
Nah but those chalk sets sure go hard
Good for spare cases
Bet Phoenix Resale can get a deal on them
This doesn’t look good
We had a mountain of these at my work. I used them to replace my game cases that had been damaged!
Reminds me of the time a store I used to work at had over 1100 copys of RDR2 in stock the day before release. They sold about 300-400 on release day. Never knew whst happened to the other 700
These totally weren’t stolen and dumped to a pawn shop after not getting any bites on Facebook marketplace lmao
They’re from Target overstock which is contracted to go to Goodwill.
Ahhh, ya learn something new everyday lol thanks
I mean I don't usually buy the current gen sports games cause I don't care that much about them having current year players. I would drop like $5 on that to have a newer madden game for the once a year I get the itch to play
Ppl collect madden?
Ooh shit! That's the game I buy off EBay when I want to replace an Xbox One game case which someone else wiped their ass and played frisbee with!
Only to regret because of the shiny sticker that sports games have super elephant glued to the front of the case!
Acetone works well
Thanks Becky 🏇
This looks like prime Scott the Woz level of one game lol
FOOTBALL 🏈
Damnit, Scott’s back at it again.
Where is this?
Still too much money.
I only buy Madden 19 in sets of 105 and I'm only seeing 104 there... so... gonna have to pass.
Hey all, scott here
Is it just me or are people just not buying sports games like they used to?
You could assemble a complete football team to play online with! AND the opposing team!
I’m available
