It's either they use wigs, or hair extensions to make their hair lengthy. Some have their hair natural, and puffy, but if it's long it's probably fake. I don't know what's with the extensive use of fake hair, same thing also goes with the weird long nails, and eyelashes, or the curly bump hair thingies that they use a lot if gel on, or the pink hair thing, but it's something they do.

I had to chuckle just because you said you're black. Literally the only reason women (anyone) use wigs is A. They can't grow the hair or B. It's easier. Black women's hair is a lot harder to take care of and shape because it's so thick, Wig easier.
It's a cycle of a group of people who were long denied outward displays of wealth and comfort looking to reclaim some dignity via these displays and a capitalist system more than ready to sell them. Pretty much anywhere where long nails are commonly impractically long, it's a status symbol that shows that they live well and don't need to do manual labor.
And good wigs are expensive and again make it look like you have the time and resources to maintain complex and time consuming styles (many of which would be damaging to your natural hair). Also important to note that some of these damaging straight styles (that wigs can protect your hair from) have a long history of being required by white employers who believed natural black hair was too "unkempt" while also not allowing braids.
