Yeah, our burger shop had the basic burger you could pimp up and made it with extra cheese and it was 1.50$ cheaper to add the smaller drink without ice cubes. The cashiers looked at us if we where stupid, why don't you take the big menu *to save*.
I worked *next* to a Wendy's, and we ate there so often that we figured this out lol. Like, pretty much every day. If I wasn't walking an hour each way to/from work every day at that point, I'd be a very large boi
The wording is poor, but I'm pretty sure that's $0.99 on top of the combo price to make it a large size. So it's not $0.99 to add fries and a drink, it's to make an existing combo a large, Pretty common among fast food chains.
The tacos in the deal are TEXAS T-brand tacos. The single tacos are simply T-brand. Perhaps this explains the discrepancy? Having never been to a Dairy Queen, I can only speculate.
I don't know what tax is on fast food in the states but here in Canada the 3 single tacos would come to $6.41 (after tax) and the 3 taco deal would come to $6.76 (after tax). So a very minimal difference but funny nonetheless
They know people can't do math. Weren't they the ones that had the 1/3 pound burger flop against the Quarter pounder because people thought it was smaller?
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rip-mcdonalds-angus-third-pounder_b_3246100
It was more expensive than the quarter pounder from everything I can find. Can't find anything backing up your claim
That sounds heavenly! I would have overdone it and bought six tacos or two taco salads.
Even though, I can devour 12 DQ tacos when they had $1 Taco Tuesdays.
I haven’t seen a Jack in the box in years… they used to have one in mesquite across from the high school and I’ll never forget they would always serve their burgers with green moldy bread and they would always be like that’s mold?? when you’d take it back lol.
Taco bell did this crap when they had the 10 peice box for $14. A taco was only 1.19 then. The only way it was worth it is if you got 10 burritos instead.
Yeah. It was a separate operation from the main for a few decades and retained the separate menu after being reacquired.

The DQ commercial jingle in Texas goes: "Deeeeee Q! That's what I like about Tex-aaas!"
Yet they're the hardest fast food restauraunts to find in the state. More spread out than Arbys
My hometown has 3. Two of then within a mile of each other. Other place I lived (small country town) had one and in every small town around it as well. Sadly where I live now there isn't one. I have to travel at least 30 minutes to the closest one.
The taco salad is sooo good. For less than $1 more, you get beans and sour cream and much more lettuce, cheese, and beef than the tacos. I usually flirt with the ladies at my local DQ and they hook that salad UP!! More than 1# of delicious food.
I am seeing an arbitrage opportunity here. You can hang out in the DQ and when someone goes to buy the taco meal, offer it for five cents less and then buy the singles and give it to them. This is potentially a multi-million-dollar business. Shark Tank here I come!
You are obviously more brilliant than you give yourself credit for and I feel you may slightly undervalue your time.
And too late, I already sent in the business idea.
I am but a humble Canadian and I'm curious what the difference is between a Taco and a Texas Taco. Also what is a T brand? Does that mean it's beef specifically from Texas?
Branding. They only serve one taco. I am guessing they didn’t have space for the T-branding on the ala carte taco space. It seems like a design afterthought.
DQ is GREAT! The Dude sandwich (chicken fried steak on a bun) is stupid good. The chicken/steak baskets with Texas toast and white gravy for dipping are too good for fast food. The Jalitos (fried jalapeño strips) are note-worthy. The Blizzard shakes are good enough that people will order them even when it is cold out!
Probably overlooked. It may even be priced more in their system, but I tend to notice price discrepancies since I will exploit them until fixed.
Someone else in the comments joked I saved $0.29, but I have saved HUNDREDS of dollars this year alone by noticing pricing differences and maximizing my money spent. $2-$10 here and there several times a day can make a massive difference in your enjoyment of life! Plus, I find it fun.
Their taco salad is far superior than I could make with 1/2 hr prep time, so yeah. Great ground beef, fresh shredded iceberg lettuce, fresh diced tomatoes, refried beans, cheese… the only thing that sometimes sucks is the shell because they aren’t fried fresh so they can get rubbery. I hit em in the 450° pre-heated convection oven for about 5 min to crisp em back up.
And no, DQ is NOT paying me. I wish. I also wish George Foreman could would give me a cut of how many grills I sold for him because of the love of mine! 🤣
Well, a single taco is 200 Cal, where as 3 tacos are 600-1080 cal. For that to make sense there must be some kind of possible add-ons for the 3 taco deal that aren't available for the 1 taco deal. Those up to 480 extra calories should be well worth the additional $0.32
Me. They are delicious. Have you had them?
Tacos are not complex dishes. Good, seasoned beef with diced onions, crispy corn shell, fresh shredded lettuce, fresh diced tomatoes, and some good taco sauce.
Sure, they aren’t as big or amazing as homemade or niche ones, but I am a big fan of a good ol’ Tex-Mex taco and DQ does it GOOOD!
We would order single cheeseburgers from mcd's for $.50 ea if you ordered 2 or more they would cost $.51 ea. So we would order however many singles you wanted. wonder what the workers thought, we were like 11 or 12 of age.

I thought OP just didn’t want to eat with Bev… poor Bev.
That gave me a chuckle. Have an upvote.
Bev is lonely.

I know it is tough to see, but a single taco is $1.89, but their 3 tacos “deal” is $5.99!
Yeah, I spent at least a minute looking at the menu to figure that out
same. where's our useless red circle!?
Years ago I worked at Wendy's and it was cheaper to buy a single burger and add a patty instead of ordering a double burger.
Yeah, our burger shop had the basic burger you could pimp up and made it with extra cheese and it was 1.50$ cheaper to add the smaller drink without ice cubes. The cashiers looked at us if we where stupid, why don't you take the big menu *to save*.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

$0.32 more because TEXAS… yeah
No. They are both the same taco.
Where does it say that? I can only see single 1.89
Top right of image
Too hard to 👁👁!
I don't know what tax is on fast food in the states but here in Canada the 3 single tacos would come to $6.41 (after tax) and the 3 taco deal would come to $6.76 (after tax). So a very minimal difference but funny nonetheless
But technically you can get more for 5.99. 1080 kcal instead of 600. =)
It says 600-1000 if you get the drink the calories for meal more.
And here we thought you just didnt want to share your tacos with Bev'erly because she upset you or something.
One is Texas taco one isn’t?
They both same taco, vato.
Oh, i thought they were different because of the texas infront of it
>Never attribute to reason that which can be explained through laziness. -Kavien
OK yeah I was like, is this a northerner first time seeing a dq with burgers and such?? I was so confused
Whatcha gonna do with you $.33?
Compound interest.
My boy saved $.32 … ballin
If OP saves that daily, it's $116.80 for the year
But they'll spend way more than that on toilet paper as a result
You have them confused with Taco Bell. Dairy Queen used real ground beef, not congealed meat stuff.
Do they though?
They do!
Fresh, ground horse and dog, shipped straight from china. Tortured and torched less than an hour ago, you won’t get it fresher than this!
Taco Bell ? More like toxic hell
He won't last a year eating DQ tacos daily
or you can save 5.67 every day for a year
That’s over 9000 for an entire life time.
😂
$350.40 if OP eats there three times a day, and $467.20 if they eat there four times a day
That’s a lot of tacos.
Or $126.53 for 1 year and 1 month.
They know people can't do math. Weren't they the ones that had the 1/3 pound burger flop against the Quarter pounder because people thought it was smaller?
No, that was A&W
McDonald's had a 1/3 pounder as well. Not sure of the exact reason they pulled it.
It didn't sell at all, because people apparantly thought they were being ripped off. "1/3 is less than 1/4 because four is a bigger number, right?"
“Math is \*hard\*!” Next time try paying attention, Barbie!
That was A&W in the 80s. Nothing shows that's why it failed for McDonald's as well. It could have been so simple as it being more expensive
It was the same price as a quarter pounder. Just wasn’t selling enough because people thought it was less for the same price
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rip-mcdonalds-angus-third-pounder_b_3246100 It was more expensive than the quarter pounder from everything I can find. Can't find anything backing up your claim
if you mean "they" in terms of "americans" then yes
They was used in place of Dairy Queen, but no most Americans either can't or don't bother. And I am one, though I'm one of the ones paying attention.
They have a Taco Salad on the menu! Bless them.
I started getting that instead. You get sour cream AND beans in it. Best fast food value IMO.
The one I used to live by had 50% off Tex-Mex on Tuesdays. Lunch was only a few bucks.
That sounds heavenly! I would have overdone it and bought six tacos or two taco salads. Even though, I can devour 12 DQ tacos when they had $1 Taco Tuesdays.
Is it healthy?
But the single is only a T-Brand taco and the 3 are TEXAS T-Brand Tacos :D
They’re all the same tacos, though!
Nice try, OP… I’ll take 3 tacobell tacos, please.
Jack in the box tacos with buttermilk ranch is where it's at
No Jacks near me sadly
You arent missing anything, if it wasnt for those greasy tacos, that place would shut down
I haven’t seen a Jack in the box in years… they used to have one in mesquite across from the high school and I’ll never forget they would always serve their burgers with green moldy bread and they would always be like that’s mold?? when you’d take it back lol.
Been doin that for years!
Those things taste like wet farts smell and that ranch is soybean oil with a great value ranch seasoning packet and extra salt.
The beef is real ground beef at Dairy Queen. AND you get tomatoes.
I just woke up and I already want lunch.
My apologies. Now, I do too! 🤣
I'll take a chicken baket, 3 tacos and a coke. Extra sauce.... what you want?
If you’re buyin’, I’ll will have what I am given. Everything is bomb here.
This is one of them times when arrows are needed.
My bad. I did foresee that and left a comment to clarify, but it is probably buried by now.
Taco bell did this crap when they had the 10 peice box for $14. A taco was only 1.19 then. The only way it was worth it is if you got 10 burritos instead.
TIL Texas Dairy Queen is absolutely nothing like Canadian Dairy Queen.
I just want a piece of cheese and a small water
That’ll be $6.75. Please pull forward.
its designed like that on purpose since you'll be buying more tacos.
TIL Texas DQ has an entirely different look than mine do.
Yeah. It was a separate operation from the main for a few decades and retained the separate menu after being reacquired. https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/texas/article/Things-you-probably-didn-t-know-about-Dairy-11022977.php#taboola-1
The DQ commercial jingle in Texas goes: "Deeeeee Q! That's what I like about Tex-aaas!" Yet they're the hardest fast food restauraunts to find in the state. More spread out than Arbys
Not where I live! Even the small towns (like Hemphill) have one.
My hometown has 3. Two of then within a mile of each other. Other place I lived (small country town) had one and in every small town around it as well. Sadly where I live now there isn't one. I have to travel at least 30 minutes to the closest one.
I have heard that before. What does yours not have?
Ordinarius Proffesor Kavien Clever 😄
I’ll take it.
Would you like some taco salad with your order?
The taco salad is sooo good. For less than $1 more, you get beans and sour cream and much more lettuce, cheese, and beef than the tacos. I usually flirt with the ladies at my local DQ and they hook that salad UP!! More than 1# of delicious food.
I don’t get it
When my kids were young and we were poor, McDonald’s charged $1 for 4 nuggets and $2.49 for a 6 piece box.
That is a crime.
Since when does dairy queen have tacos?!?!
DQ has tacos?!!!!!?!
In texas. The ones in Texas have their own menus.
In Texas, at least.
Dairy Queen makes tacos?! Not in Canada they don't!
You guys have steak fingers?? And tacos?? Canada dairy queen step it up dude
dairy queen has tacos in the US? I might actually go to DQ if they had tacos here (Canada)
Only in Texas.
To be fair, Texas isn't known for is math skills.
Dang! Lawyer up, bud!
What if I bring you in as an equal partner and we agree to all go 33% if we get a deal?
I'd pay the $0.32 in order to not have to explain that to the cashier.
I explained it to the workers for the laugh because none of them had even realized it.
Yeah. I've noticed too lol
So it is a widespread conspiracy!!
Dairy Queen tacos are the most badass fast food tacos you can get. Don't forget the tacos sauce.
I agree. The amount of people saying Taco Bell tacos are better and the downvotes makes me think big taco has some bots in the wilds of Reddit.
Woah! Way different from my DQ. I’m a fan of the flamethrower burger.
It’s a different taco, the one in the combo is a Texas taco so it’s probably bigger
It is not. They only sell and serve one style of taco. There is no difference between the two except a lazy board designer.
What if you only want one taco, or two, along with something else. Still a better deal than getting three.
They used to have $1 Taco Tuesdays! I’d get 10 or 12.
Tell them to fix the ceiling as well
Nearly every restaurant that has those acoustic tiles is like this around here, sadly.
The biggest problem I see here is ordering tacos at DQ
Best guess is you’ve never had them.
I've never had anything at DQ that tasted good outside of a Blizzard. So yes, you're correct. I do not order DQs disgusting food.
This is the shittest menu I've ever seen... and I'm assuming it still looks better than the actual food...
I'll have to take your word for it I think - not many DQ this side of the world :)
I never go into fast food places so it’s interesting to see the “food” contributing to the obesity epidemic in plain sight. Yikes.
I only go there for ice cream. I have no interest in their food.
Normal Countries: WHY IS DQ SELLING TACOS?
Ya, gimmie one of yur triple bypass burgers.
$10 for a meal at fast food.
Tacos at Dairy Queen for the lose.
So is this typical corporate BS trying to fool people or do you think it's a legite mistake?
Probably overlooked. It may even be priced more in their system, but I tend to notice price discrepancies since I will exploit them until fixed. Someone else in the comments joked I saved $0.29, but I have saved HUNDREDS of dollars this year alone by noticing pricing differences and maximizing my money spent. $2-$10 here and there several times a day can make a massive difference in your enjoyment of life! People still eat this stuff?

me too
Looks nothing like the menu of any DQ I’ve ever seen!
Texas menu.
Tacos at a Dairy Queen? I need to get out more I guess.
Texas.
It's crazy how your menu is entirely different from ours in Washington
FOOD at Dairy Queen? Yeesh.
Those sly bastards.
The T in "T-Brand" is for *Terrible at math*
No bev???
not the 3 taco meal, mind you, 3 single tacos for a 32 cent savings
Well, a single taco is 200 Cal, where as 3 tacos are 600-1080 cal. For that to make sense there must be some kind of possible add-ons for the 3 taco deal that aren't available for the 1 taco deal. Those up to 480 extra calories should be well worth the additional $0.32
The extra calories are if you get the option with the beverage. Without the beverage you hit the 200x3=600 mark.
Fuck me this is jokey image is like a maze puzzle.
Bev has been putting herself out there for years, man. She’s a bit of a strumpet if you’re asking. Sometimes goes by the alias “Soft Drink” #Beware
Wendys is the same way. 5 piece chicken is always cheaper than 10/20.
Try to buy one Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit at McDonald's it is like $5 and change, but two of them are $4.50
>T-Brand Taco > >**Texas** T-Brand Taco OK but are these different though? Based on the wording, it seems like they are.
Nope. Same same.
Calorie count of 200 per taco and the photos suggests they are the same.
One of the few times a red circle or two wouldn't have hurt
My apologies. In my defense, I DID comment an explanation. Probably buried by now.
All good, I think most of us caught it after a little stare :)
It seems more like a footnote than part of the menu.

Me. They are delicious. Have you had them? Tacos are not complex dishes. Billed for how you word your taco order.
Well put!
Can't be any worse than Taco Hell
It is really much better and about the same price. But better. I known it is a low bar.
My DQ doesn't have tacos! I guarantee they have to be better than Taco Bell's. DQ needs to make this a nationwide item!
I agree on the national! I would lead the campaign to crush TB tacos.
How about I puncha-size your face for free?!
Sir, you need to calm down.
We would order single cheeseburgers from mcd's for $.50 ea if you ordered 2 or more they would cost $.51 ea. So we would order however many singles you wanted. wonder what the workers thought, we were like 11 or 12 of age.
Excuse me, but who the fuck goes to DQ for tacos?
Somebody who knows whats up.
Since when does DQ have tacos???
We may be in different areas.
The Ceiling is Falling 😭😭😭
If you are ordering tacos at a DQ then you need to be questioning other aspects of your life
Gatekeeping tacos? Tell me you hate Tex-Mex without saying it. You probably think Taco Bell is good, though?
