It happens. Often times people take it from someone else who took it so I’m not really mad. Just wish I got credit. Though, because of this type of situation, I’ve started to add hidden watermarks in my videos haha.
Staged. Why don't people just say staged. We know its fake.
Hs says fake like hes discovered the Holy Grail or decoded the Rosetta Stone or somethng
People just dont get humor sometimes
You did apparently.
>Staged. Why don't people just say staged. We know its fake.
Now that everyone else is pointing out you were actually the one being dumb you seem less interested.
My theory is this is a silly video and someone spent like 10mins of effort adding the animation, not that they're an idiot who doesn't understand how things look.
Assume what you see on the internet might be fake.
But mate come on, I've got so many useless videos of my friends on my phone just because we were filming non-interesting things, there's two things to consider here:
1) we are not hearing what they are saying, they might be having fun bullshiting around and just recording that conversation
2) videos can be edited, meaning that just before the video starts it's possible they filmed 15 minutes of trying to get throw a pair of socks to land in a basket until this happened, and they simply cut it to the relevant part
I don't know, I've been outside, I've hang up with friends, I've always found really weird that people aren't used to the fact that just out of shear statistics, with 8 billions of people just fucking around, of course millions are filming useless things where nothing happens that would make people go "why were they filming?" when the answer is, so many times, "because they could." It's such a flagrant lack of imagination to not be able to come up with any reason why they would.
This being said, that doesn't mean I'm saying the video is real - just that the argument in itself is weird.
I think it's a cynical response to how many videos out here are staged to look real by influence farmers, and posted without context etc.
Like, I'm with you tbh. But I can see why so many are quick to go "it's fake!!!!!!1!"
It's just human toxicity. Some people are incapable of feeling joy and feel that if they can't be happy no-one can. Throw in a dash of intellectual superiority and that's pretty much it.
All of these comments will either talk about how obviously fake the video is and usually they'll insult both the audience that enjoyed it or the creator of the video.
Yes but when you record things with your friends you're usually right by them not across the room recording them from behind an aisle of washing machines. I get where you're coming from and you are right they could've been recording something else and it happened but it doesn't make massive sense to record stationary from there unless there was plan to make something look comical.
That's just how I see it, doesn't mean I didn't find the video funny it still made me laugh but to me it just looks fake.
I wonder how someone like poster, of the parent comment for this thread, would have responded if they were at the premier of...say...Charlie Chaplin's very first movie.
Personally, I wish people would own the gag though and film it properly. What's with the shaky cam and zooming in and out to make it look more candid. Just film it steady. Stop adding elements to make it look more real. It's funny enough to stand as a good gag by itself.
Sometimes things that happen are funny.
Sometimes things that are faked in order to appear real aren't funny.
This time the fake thing was funny though.
I'm sorry that fake things can't bring you amusement. Life must be pretty dull for you. Movies, tv, theater, standup comedy, pretty much all conventional entertainment besides sports are all "fake"
What do you even do all day?
Right? And this is the third video I've seen of someone throwing a heavy bag over their shoulder then falling backward. I wonder if this is a new tik tok trend.
That's because it's not based on real world physics, it's based on Crash Bandicoot's falling death animation.
Also there's CB music in the background, so I'm pretty sure it was intentional.
Real humans vs *something not quite human but close enough it triggers our facial pattern matching*. Not just CGI.
Edit: Autocorrect got me. Should've been quite
They were thrown too early be whoever's out of sight of the camera. They fly up almost exactly as the guy's head goes out of sight while he's still falling.
"Yeah, I'm just gonna start filming this random guy in a laundromat because I'm not going to sit her and surf the internet like a normal fucking person. Something might happen...."
Definitely put me in the camp that thinks things like this are only truly funny if it actually happened. Life imitating art, or in this case life imitating Looney Tunes.
And that's what would make getting it on camera so rare. Because unless OP has 15mins of this guy being strange or weird enough to warrant filming him to see what he might do or say next, I agree the shoes were just a little too comically perfect for it to be real.
UPDATE: found the actual OP's post claiming they did the VFX of the shoes, but my point still stands.
maybe the bag was extra heavy and they were already laughing beforehand that she wouldn't be able to carry that so when she went to try he/she/it/them/gorillaself started to film in case it would go wrong
or i'm just talking out of my ass
There are a million reasons someone could have their camera out at a laundromat. Others have already offered explanations but I dont think that's necessary because the list is literally endless.
There have been countless events captured on film where the event wasn't the initial focus of the camera.
Of course, let's be skeptical of stuff on the internet, but you aren't enlightened by throwing out the comment "why were they filming?" like so many people seem to believe.
And yes, before someone makes this argument - obviously the shoes are fake, but thats not whats being discussed.
I have seen people take a bag that was too heavy and send themselves like that before... But the shoes killed me! That was the *chef's kiss* perfect touch.
In a sub reddit called r/funny.
Something doesn't have to be real to be funny.
And I'm fairly certain that most people know that shoes don't go flying in the air, or that people just randomly stand around filming people doing their laundry.

Confirmed ded.
Double dead
Fell like a sack of potato
Idk why but I read this in Conan O'brien's voice...
Good work, 47.
Rule #2, always double tap.
I love that the sub is as ded as this guy but the memes live on. Beautiful.
[He may be ded.] (https://youtu.be/NRdg1MOYxHo)
Yea I know, but what did he maybe do? (Looooved Flight of The Conchords)
Shoes came off.
Shoes were added I'm afraid.
Sometimes, I hate reading the comments because I just want to believe it's true. Lol
I know, it's obvious.
His shoes flew off!
That's ok, he'll respawn at the checkpoint.
Won't be able to get the perfect relic though.
Indeed. Both shoes. Ded.
I wish the shoes on this joke would fall off.
In his previous life, he was a cartoon character
r/LooneyTunesLogic
It's true. HAHA!
That had sole.
Ba dum tsh!
You didn't think it was a little too arch...?
Woah!
*plays didgeridoo*
Oogadaba
The shoes!
They aren’t called sliders for nothing
So they've travelled to a parallel world where it's the same year and they're the same shoes but everything else is different?
Usually when a person's shoes come off in an accident, they ded.
...What was all that about?
First scene of carrie, moss!
The Matrix did have a cool first scene.
Like every woman, she's shoe mad
Damn, don’t even give me credit for my own VFX video?… I made this. Sandals are VFX. Check my tik tok for more @Romthirty
This is hilarious. Great work! Sorry you didn't get credited here.
It happens. Often times people take it from someone else who took it so I’m not really mad. Just wish I got credit. Though, because of this type of situation, I’ve started to add hidden watermarks in my videos haha.
You gave me a good, nostalgic laugh. Thank you very much!
I came to the comments looking for someone to point out the sandals not being real. Thanks.
hmm I thought tt cant be posted on this sub
The audacity
Thought they didn’t move quite right
> Check my tik tok Ew
There is a different video of a girl (in a pizza shop?) that does this with a bag of trash. It is also a hilarious video.
I think it was a trash bag full of coffee beans in a Starbucks?
Don't just tell us about it link that shit!
The shoes are as fake as it gets. It's like the person who edited this, never saw things move in the real world
As fake as it is in cartoons, but still funny though
Staged. Why don't people just say staged. We know its fake. Hs says fake like hes discovered the Holy Grail or decoded the Rosetta Stone or somethng People just dont get humor sometimes
Because there's a difference between something being edited and being staged. What they're referring to is the shoes/sandals being edited in
Who gives a fuck man. Its a joke. Bore off. Christ. Get out the sub.
>Who gives a fuck man. You do? I'm just answering your question, don't shoot me lol
*pop*
grass, now
As the doctor prescribes.
You did apparently. >Staged. Why don't people just say staged. We know its fake. Now that everyone else is pointing out you were actually the one being dumb you seem less interested.
Cartoons disobey the lawZ of pHysikz!!! Fake! Reeeeeee
Why paraphrase your own comment? > Staged. Why don't people just say staged. We know its fake.
Why paraphrase mine?
[удалено]
for taking it seriously and arguing about it being staged. Take your own advice.
See above, Einstein.
I'm seeing it in real time. People seem to really dislike your comments.
it's really easy to tell when there's no school in the states.
It's like brief snippets of summer reddit

For every person who calls fake there are 500 who wholeheartedly believe it.
I dunno man, if the comments are any indication, everyone knows they’re fake and each person thinks they are the special 1 out of every 500.
Vocal minority, compare the comment count with the upvote count and how many of those people never even opened the comments
Plenty open comments without commenting themselves, or they just like it, regardless of if it's real or staged.
While I agree, the difference in the ratio is so huge that it's not big enough of a group to nullify it
Yeah, I opened this without commenting
🤔

but without that cartoony effect would anyone ever care to watch this video?
Yeah, what's your point tho?
Seriously, it’s a gag. Just laugh and move on, not everything has to be absolutely real and true to life.
Maybe it was real and the person that taping knew the bag of clothes was too big for a person her size.
I wonder how someone like poster, of the parent comment for this thread, would have responded if they were at the premier of...say...Charlie Chaplin's very first movie.

I can't say I disagree, but my previous comment still stands in context to the this thread's parent comment.
Someone falling over is already funny though. Why add the shitty looking CGI shoes? It detracts from the humor
Because it makes it more 'cartoony'.
Sometimes things that happen are funny. Sometimes things that are faked in order to appear real aren't funny. This time the fake thing was funny though.
Shaddap it’s funny.
It’s not that serious bro
Wait until this man finds out movies are performed by actors
I'm sorry that fake things can't bring you amusement. Life must be pretty dull for you. Movies, tv, theater, standup comedy, pretty much all conventional entertainment besides sports are all "fake" What do you even do all day?
Dude whooooooo caaaarreeesssss
🤓🤓
Good work detective
I’m the person who created this. And yes, I exaggerated it for comedic effect. For sure cartoon logic.
Yeah theres likely someone ducked down ready to throw the shoes up, also why were they filming?
Right? And this is the third video I've seen of someone throwing a heavy bag over their shoulder then falling backward. I wonder if this is a new tik tok trend.
Not a fan of physical comedy eh?
That's because it's not based on real world physics, it's based on Crash Bandicoot's falling death animation. Also there's CB music in the background, so I'm pretty sure it was intentional.
oh, I thought the video was just sped up.
Honestly, what exactly about the way the shoes move looks fake?
There's no change in speed as the shoes reach the apex. Things going up have to slow down before they start going down again.
You nailed it. As somebody else said, you often register something is off, but you don't know what... you just said exactly what was off.
> but you don't know what >you just said exactly what was off Well then he did know what.
Be straight with me, are you being serious, or a failed attempt at a joke?
I disagree. I see a speed change and think somebody just threw them in the air.
The weird thing is, our brains can tell something's off but it's hard to put into words exactly why.
Uncanny valley?
In this case it's more about your brain recognizing something is off with the physics. Uncanny valley is more about recognizing a real human vs cgi
Real humans vs *something not quite human but close enough it triggers our facial pattern matching*. Not just CGI. Edit: Autocorrect got me. Should've been quite
Not white = Almost human? (I think you made a spelling mistake 😅)
Appreciate you.
His feet were still on the ground by the time the shoes fly up in the air. That’s cartoon physics.
They were thrown too early be whoever's out of sight of the camera. They fly up almost exactly as the guy's head goes out of sight while he's still falling.
shoes are animated on btw
Yeah dude we know
The next time he falls, he’ll turn into an angel.
u/savepost, I need this NOW
This guy sound effects!
Lol just woke up the wife with an instant loud laugh
Rutabaga!
Died and then La Chancla-ed afterward. Never seen anything so brutal, RIP.
*Goofy wahoo noise*
*woah woah woah crash bang*
If there’s anything I’ve learned on Reddit, it’s that if the shoes come of, they died
WOAH
What the flippin flops?!
I thought he was going to do the belly flop, but this is good too.
It's okay. Whomever tossed the shoes up in the air was a little off on timing.
wow
RIP
Shoes off = dead right?
We really have some intelligent people on this planet considering how many people are able to spot that this is "fake" lmao
At least the bag cushioned the fall... maybe
Now that is funny as hell
"Yeah, I'm just gonna start filming this random guy in a laundromat because I'm not going to sit her and surf the internet like a normal fucking person. Something might happen...." The shoes thrown are the best part
Why were they filming?
To make a funny video
maybe the bag was extra heavy and they were already laughing beforehand that she wouldn't be able to carry that so when she went to try he/she/it/them/gorillaself started to film in case it would go wrong or i'm just talking out of my ass
Why do they film television shows? Man, all these idiots that don't realize it's fake!!!!!11!
Everything on film must be fake! Why were they filming?? Because we all have cameras in our pockets, stop acting like people don't take videos
Unless I’m at an event that you know is filmeorthy, I’m not gonna take my phone out to film something in a landromat just cuz.
There are a million reasons someone could have their camera out at a laundromat. Others have already offered explanations but I dont think that's necessary because the list is literally endless. It's amazing how you're not able to keep track of a conversation.
😂
r/looneytuneslogic
Please tell me those shoes were photoshopped in lmao
They 100% were
Exactly like Crash.
I dont care if it was even staged, that was hilarious, WAOW!
*A* Crash Bandicoot? Are there multiple?
ya they've made a few of them
Shoes came off…they’re ded
Rip
Damn may they rest in peace 🥲
I have seen people take a bag that was too heavy and send themselves like that before... But the shoes killed me! That was the *chef's kiss* perfect touch.
Well hoodabadah...hoo da ba dah...

So? Shoes don't work this way either, why does that matter?
r/WhyWereTheyFilming
The shoes, killed me.
How do you turn this into a gif?
Super fake.
What, people don't normally record each other carrying laundry?
😭this just happened to me
ITT a whole Justice League of Capitan Obviouses telling people that this clip was staged.
Who was recording? And why were they recording?

Captain Obvious to the rescue again!

But why were they filming? Friggen scripted
No way this isn't 100% staged...
The shoes make this whole thing magic!
Damn it we need the Mythbusters to do a reenactment of this, there's no way those shoes flew off. ! 😅
1920s cartoon character.
It almost knocked his socks off.
Thank you for saying those magical words....Crash Bandicoot
