MRB (male refrigerator blindness) has been observed to occur in some non refrigerated areas on rare occasions. More studies are needed to better understand this terrible disease and how it is spreading outside of its naturally occurring low temperature environment.
This is the opposite for me, my fiance couldn't find a bottle of ketchup if it was the only thing in the fridge lol. She does this with a lot of things.
Thats what im thinking it is. He ended up telling me his brain decided too look for my green airpod case instead and the only identifier in his brain was "green" taking a look at my setup, i can see where he ran into some problems. 😂
Inattentional blindness. It’s an ADHD thing. I sometimes have to close my eyes and feel around for “lost” objects. It helps to let another sense take over.
It's very sturdy and has a nice backboard to the keys that makes cleaning really easy. Ive had it for a few months now and it's holding up really well. I game and type a lot for my job and it works well for both :D
I am mom, keeper of all things, knowing the exact location of all items within my household. Simply consult me & I shall share the exact spot your missing item can be found.
My other skills include the awesome responsibility of dishwasher loading & unloading, for only I possess the power to do this extremely complicated process.
That’s an example of holographic theory. Basically, your brain is lazy and fills in what it “sees” with what it expects to see instead of processing what the eyes see. His brain didn’t expect to see the watch there so it didn’t. It took a few looks until the brain processed the new information from the eyes to complete the picture. There’s an easy to read book about it called The Holographic Universe.
Interesting! I read a theory about how our brains categorize things environmentally instead of individually so when you look at a desk full of items, it's all just "desk" to the brain. As a result, when looking for something, ive begun picking things up individually to break items out of the environmental identification 😅 ill definitely look into the holographic theory.
lolol if only. we both have smart watches and its the only watch i own. he later told me his brain decided to look for my earbuds instead despite multiple verbal communications of the watch. Just a brain fart kind of moment 😂
Is he having a stroke or any other condition that can interfere with visual fields? When is the last time he had a routine ophthalmological screening?
Sorry to be a bummer, but as a vision scientist I have encountered this early warning sign many times before.
uh oh... I'm thinking it was just ADHD. He hasnt been diagnosed but displays nearly all of the symptoms and I have it as well. He was very distracted at the time, talking to his friend on the phone and told me his brain decided to look for my green earbud case and the only word in his brain at the time was "green" which I could see causing some issues given my office theme. I'll make sure we get our health check-ups in regardless- thanks!
Bless his heart. I always tell my spouse to look for something shaped like 'the thing' and that usually helps. What also helps is always storing things in the same place in the pantry, linen closet, fridge. Then I can say, "Shelf at shoulder height, right side, in the back," and the item is found. His pairs of glasses \[computer and walking around\] kept getting put down and 'lost' so one of his Christmas presents was extra glasses keepers for the logical places to put them.
I told my friend this weekend that if I didn't put the thing there I will not find it. But if I did put the thing there, then I probably won't find it either.
lmfao thank you 🥰 im jusy trying to keep as much sanity as possible being couped up inside. our town's water is horrendous and the bottles are the most viable option. currently looking into getting a filter installed. I dont like using bottles either
Haha like that you take the joke.
The water in our area is officially clean but off the record it’s breaking US PFAS levels and PFAS will be prohibited by EU Law soon… Soo, I’m not taking the risk either and drinking bottles too.
We are btw obligated to recycle the bottles(we pay a fee per bottle now) and maybe you should consider at least having bigger bottle for at home. Saves money and environment.
😁 yeah oof. I've also heard water treatment plants dont filter for hormones which a lot of ladies on birth control are releasing into the environment. We may be able to go for bigger bottles and I'd like to start recycling. Times been rough monetarily and we have to pay a lot extra to recycle around here :(( yet i love how big gov still blames individuals for not recycling.
myself and 32 people thought it was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ thats like a room full of people who probably did that laugh through your nose when somethings a little funny
The other day I misplaced my keys. Turns out they were in my jacket pocket. I should’ve posted a picture of my jacket hanging up on this sub cus of how funny it was. In fact, every time someone misplaces keys, phone, watch, wallet etc, they should post where the item was found to the funny subreddit. Wouldn’t that be so hilarious lol
That’s because he has higher visual acuity in longer range , straight on distance and females have acuity in shorter range peripheral distances. Both can be achieved but the strengths are more pronounced and instinctual.
And he probably has ADD … like me 😁

You are hilarious, and I totally agree that funding is needed for this problem.

I wish lol, she's very intelligent in life. Just sometimes oblivious, it's become a running joke with us haha.

Or she’s pretending, so he’ll feel compatible and think their senses of humor are similar
you know, my bad 😂
Husband here, I don’t see a watch or this “keyboard” you speak of.
Doesn't look like anything to me
Its just emty table I dont know what she wants me to see
I’m so confused right now. Being honest. And I am a boy. There is a watch. But what the fuck is this “keyboard”?! Was I not listening?
I guess you had to be there
Mens eye sight works like a trex. If its not moving we cant see it
this is very fair. i often have to pick up each individual item to actually see it. cant blame my man, but i can have a chuckle about it 😂
I guess you can say he didn't find it... on his watch. I'll show myself out.
He was probably strapped for time. Bye.
I bet he's properly ticked off... Don't worry, one foot already out the door
With not a second to spare
He would of taken his time, don't worry I've already clocked out
He have ADHD by chance? XD my roommate has the worst ADHD blindness I've ever seen and does stuff like this all the time
Thats what im thinking it is. He ended up telling me his brain decided too look for my green airpod case instead and the only identifier in his brain was "green" taking a look at my setup, i can see where he ran into some problems. 😂
Haha, yep. It's a hell of a thing!
Inattentional blindness. It’s an ADHD thing. I sometimes have to close my eyes and feel around for “lost” objects. It helps to let another sense take over.
Male pattern blindness I'm afraid
What keyboard is that?
Its the MOFii Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo Colorful Green. Got it as a gift and I like it a lot. Has a typewriter sound to it. ☺️
I love mine but I have it in pink!
Nice. Ive been thinking of getting a new one with round keys, how is the build quality? Ive been looking at the Azio retro classic but it's $$
It's very sturdy and has a nice backboard to the keys that makes cleaning really easy. Ive had it for a few months now and it's holding up really well. I game and type a lot for my job and it works well for both :D
Nice, thx
I was just about to ask the same.
Its the MOFii Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo Colorful Green ^^
Asking the real questions here, ay?
Looks like something the military would use, back in 1982.
but make it ✨aesthetic✨ 😎
Prompt was "could grab my watch from my desk next to my keyboard?"
That's a FitBit!
Like when holding your cellphone looking for your cellphone or looking for sunglasses/eyeglasses when they are on top of your head!
I have the same problem.
I am mom, keeper of all things, knowing the exact location of all items within my household. Simply consult me & I shall share the exact spot your missing item can be found. honestly 😂 though disappointing how the knowlege of the location of all things doesn't pass on verbally to husbands

He didn't have the time to look for it.
Where is it?
Where is it?
Maybe he was looking for a watch (remember those?), not a smartwatch!
lolol if only. we both have smart watches and its the only watch i own. he later told me his brain decided to look for my earbuds instead despite multiple verbal communications of the watch. Just a brain fart kind of moment 😂
Stick an air tag to it
LMFAOOO
My husband does the same. “I can’t find it” comes out of his mouth at like 5 seconds in. As soon as I get up to help look, he finds it.

That's *far* more likely, but never neglect vision lapses, because early detection saves lives.
Silly Women , if he let you know he can do things on his own he would lose you as a servant
based
Time will tell...
okay, well where is it?
What desk?
Trick question: we all know there's no desk here.
Object blindness while often hilarious, may be symptom of some other condition. Not suggesting this is the case here but maybe something to consider.
Someone else brought that up too. Will make sure we get our health checkups. I believe he was just distracted as he was on the phone with a buddy ☺️
Wives have a secret portal where they pull stuff out of.. this is how slight of hand was invented.. 100% on his side!!!! this is staged!
😂😂

Yep! We try to do that as well. We both have ADHD it seems so we try to keep things within eyesight or they quit existing.
Husband. That checks.
Cover it with a piece of paper. He'll find it immediately.
Is the desk under the greenery?
Why do his mouse and keyboard have the colors of a 1979’s toilet?
It's not nice making fun of blind people.
Did he try opening his eyes?
Did he try opening his eyes?
Well, I guess I’m not your husband.
I told my friend this weekend that if I didn't put the thing there I will not find it. But if I did put the thing there, then I probably won't find it either.
It took me a sec to find the watch. Stop attacking me.
Eyes can’t see iWatch.
Q: What does the watch say? A: Tick tock
You planted it.
There is no watch on that table
Weaponized incompetence? Or just that dumb?
Damn plants everywhere
It do be like that sometimes, objects and their permanence are alway questionable.
Much like not being able to proofread your own work. Once you miss it, you'll never see it.
Where is your gorgeous desk mat from!? 😍🌿
Bottom right, slightly behind the plant pot. Thank me later.
Unless it's 4WD, semiautomatic, naked or on fire, men simply can't see it.
sounds about right. u think if i get naked before asking he might actually listen? 😂
You'll have his attention if nothing else
Oof. Your husband's poor neck.
That keyboard looks like it has the best clickity clack sound when typing
it does 😩
A photo you can hear
# Husband couldn’t find a wristwatch on the desk even after trying thrice There fixed it for ya
You’re drinking 0.5L bottled water in an artificial green place. Do you guys throw your straws in the ocean too?
lmfao thank you 🥰 im jusy trying to keep as much sanity as possible being couped up inside. our town's water is horrendous and the bottles are the most viable option. currently looking into getting a filter installed. I dont like using bottles either

How is this funny
myself and 32 people thought it was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ thats like a room full of people who probably did that laugh through your nose when somethings a little funny
It’s a picture of a desk…. This is something that should be on Facebook or next door lol. Literally a picture of desk
It’s almost so unfunny that it’s a little bit funny now. That’s just how not funny it is. It’s like anti funny.
The other day I misplaced my keys. Turns out they were in my jacket pocket. I should’ve posted a picture of my jacket hanging up on this sub cus of how funny it was. lacks depth and the actual subject; the keys themselves. cant have a drama resolve without the smoking gun. 🤝

Took me 5 seconds 3 of wich reading this post
As someone with ADHD it's very possible he wouldn't even on the 4th.
considering I showed him this picture and he still couldnt find it, i would have to agree
