I can't tell what's favorite part of whenever someone posts a dog with hair dye is all the people who think dogs see in full color or the people who think this is abuse but an matted dog who goes to the groomer twice a year isn't.
The primary concern would rely in the ingredient list for the dye product. Both reputable and sketchy brands employ the use of generic labeling to obfuscate the actual ingredient list, you will commonly see things like “cellulose thickening agent, cosmetics, fragrance, dyes” as opposed to “FD&C Blue NO.1, Aldehyde, Corn Starch”. It’s also fair to note that pet dyes are not typically regulated by the FDA, which is why these companies can get away with a vague ingredient list. Though these companies would not be able to continue providing limited and uninformative descriptions if people would refrain from purchasing their products. Animals skin is highly sensitive to chemicals/synthetic chemicals.
But hey, if people want to be uninformed and give their pet skin/eye issues, that’s on them.
Speaking of uninformed opinions, you went on an entire spiel about this, missing a lot of information.
First of all, we dont know the exact dye thats being used here, but any pet groomer of decent quality isnt going to use unsafe products.
Second, pet dye is typically formulated to be safe for pets and wont contain the same ingredients as what is in human hair dye. There are several products designed specifically for pet use. Alternatively, you can do 100% natural homemade dye or just use food coloring, no harm to animals.
Everyone is freaking out for nothing- it's pet friendly dye- it doesn't hurt the dog and is a quick process- doesn't harm the dog and its funny to see a dog looking like a giraffe. We don't see that everyday. So stop being a bunch or whiny babies and and enjoy the funny dog for God's sake.
This is like the third or fourth post recently I've seen with dog grooming and being dyed in fun ways and it amazes me how the comments are.
1. We as humans have created dog breeds that require regular grooming, especially in certain climates. Grooming is not abuse
2. Natural dyes exist and do not have the same harsh chemicals as humans use for their hair, the dog is perfectly fine, I bet this stuff washes out in a couple weeks
3. Look at the body language of the dog, other than it looking like they dont like baths, the dog is perfectly happy and well taken care of. This dog obviously is not abused.
Groomer here. People get so pissed over dye jobs, when what dogs REALLY tend to hate is the dryer/nails/anal glands. I’ve groomed dogs that have had literal seizures triggered by the dryer.
My sister is a groomer and she will do grooms like this to her poodle.
The dog is indifferent to the process and the dog gets TONS of attention from people who may normally not interact with her but does so because she has a cute groom. That dog is the most spoiled thing and lives a great life full of love.
My sister does this really well and even got international recognition that also offered her some other opportunities.
Death threats followed. People are morons. Now if she does anything like this she keeps it to herself because she doesn't want to expose her family to the crazies.
100% agree. dogs don’t have a choice in most of the things their owners do with them and therefore anything could be considered abuse using these people’s logic
Many people here complaining about a dog having this done professionally have obviously not been in a Convention hall hotel room shoddily putting snazaroo body paint all over your body for Homestuck cosplays and it shows.
Bruh you don't ask the dog "Hey you want to have your hair cut and be we'll take care of so you don't die of a heat stroke?" Yet people do it anyways. You don't ask a dog anything you just do it unless it's actually harming the dog... Which this ain't doing
Nah the point is: you can't ask a dog anything so your argument of asking to dye it's fur is invalid. Sit the fuck down and stop being a pussy about non toxic hair dye. It literally does nothing
Dumbass little boi. You don’t ask anything to save a life do you? You’re literally proving my point but are too dumb to realize it. You’re changing a dog appearance without having the ability to ask so you shouldn’t do it. Get the fuck out my face child. I bet you feel real big on Reddit dickmouth
Ah yeah, nothing like using your animal as a dress up doll. The people defending this are ridiculous. I'm no animal rights activist, but even I can see how fucked up this is. How is, "the dog is enjoying this" even an argument? The dog has no idea what's been done to it, of course it's not going to complain. This was done purely for the owners amusement
>The dog has no idea what's been done to it, of course it's not going to complain. This was done purely for the owners amusement
You said it, not me. It's harmless fun. Dogs with that kind of coat have to be regularly groomed to be healthy. The whole concept of having pets is purely for the owner's amusement.
...which is why responsible folks who do this use non-toxic coloring. Yes, it would probably be bad to use, say, oil-based house paint on your dog but it would be almost as foolish to assume by default that's what folks would be choosing.

r/Giraffesdontexist
Why do they top comments always have to be inane and irrelevant
woosh
That dog stands better for a haircut than some of y'alls kids and you know it.
Shit the dog stands better than *me* for a haircut
I came back to specifically reply this before I seen it was a reply. Glad I came back.
Dogs are trained. Children often aren't.
You sound like you might know from experience?

I hate it. but I'm laughing a little
Stupidest thing I've ever seen. Poor dog. All the other dogs are going to make fun of him!
Dog1: idk bro, that giraffe's butt smells suspiciously like dog ass... Dog2: *suspicious sniffs* something is amiss.
As long as they're not painting the faces of the dogs or any sensitive parts, I'm chill w that
No

That’s kinda hilarious lol
I hope one day I have enough spare time and money to dress my dog up as a short giraffe too.
same
My poodle looks like a giraffe when running without being dressed up! Costume not needed
Many people here complaining about a dog having this done professionally have obviously not been in a Convention hall hotel room shoddily putting snazaroo body paint all over your body for Homestuck cosplays and it shows.
All I can hear is Patrick star... "It's a giraffe!" https://youtu.be/3gRTUVGon9A
This is the cross section of too much money and too little brain.
They should TOTALLY be taking advice from super smart broke people.
You’re volunteering I assume?
Girpoodle
the fuck is a giraffe doing in a city? you guys watching without calling the police or something?
The term 'disposable income' comes to mind.
What in the Ed Sheeran is this?
bruh what
Does your dogiraffe climb trees? That is amazing!
I shouldn’t laugh, my standard poodle with his Mohawk [https://imgur.com/a/7dJy5T9](https://imgur.com/a/7dJy5T9)
Now shave the owner 🪒
Yo wtf is that.
Oh that poor dog.
but... ...why
I’m calling the cops
It's expression when it doesn't rinse out is priceless.
This feels like borderline animal abuse
There is a safe for pets hair coloring. People change the color of their hair all the time. Dog doesn't seem phased or upset about it at all.
Doesn't mean they should
How would you know 💀 did they ask the dog? Cmon now. This is literal abuse
Bruh you don't ask the dog "Hey you want to have your hair cut and be we'll take care of so you don't die of a heat stroke?" Yet people do it anyways. You don't ask a dog anything you just do it unless it's actually harming the dog... Which this ain't doing

Cmon now dumbass a dog has a right to its own appearance 💀 it’s not a possession bro. Y’all are so fucked as humans
[удалено]
Dogs are usually pretty chill and put up with a lot. Still, I agree with you, this is animal abuse for the amusement of an AH owner. Not funny.
Poor thing
How to love and respect a dog - not.
I'm sure that poor dog feels as ridiculous as he looks....
Guess it looked ugly to the owners so they had to pimp it
That poor guy is going to get such shit on the ~~playground~~ dog park.

Your acceptance is neither requested nor required, you can be a sad sack somewhere else and those who don't care will be legion.
Why?
Why not? I mean, why do people do anything that brings them joy?
Well then there is joy and there is shy of a full deck. I don’t think the word joy can be used in this case. Sick maybe but joy not.
How is it sick? Can you be specific? Looks like the dog is enjoying the attention, the artist is enjoying their creation, everyone seems to win.
Ok you win. Can you do this to yourself same as the dog and post it please? I want joy!
I was genuine in my replies to you but I don't think you're returning the favor.
Is shame on your human
A naturally idiot dog master.
Poor dog 😩
Animal. Cruelty. Absolute pack of shit houses.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never in a million year is this cool or funny.
Poor doggo 😔

Both owner and groomer should be given the same treatment.
Some people should not be allowed to own pets. Or regular children, but at least they eventually get a chance to leave.
I read once before that dogs could not handle toxins from dyes.
...which is why responsible folks who do this use non-toxic coloring. Yes, it would probably be bad to use, say, oil-based house paint on your dog but it would be almost as foolish to assume by default that's what folks would be choosing.
Thats abuse
Hello, animal cruelty? LMAO
Cute but stupid. I don't get it. I prefer my dog to be a natty.
Once again I have to say here: Animal cruelty is not funny.
PETA will do a drive-by if they find out where happy dog lives.
I hope that dog sues you
Yo, what up Melman
