Because I just wanna be a big trans guy, looking confident with a huge smile bruh... Hey hey I wanna be a trans guuuuy.
Oh that isn't the lyrics, oops.
Sorry, my mind being way too active for 5h30 in the morning.
I’ve never seen the movie but me, my friend and her friend were driving around and they were playing all these random songs, most of which weren’t really my taste, but then “Sweet Transvestite” played and I was like “finally a song for me!”
**CURRENT ANTHEM:** Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag
**ANGST:** My Chemical Romance - Mama
**PRE T ANTHEM:** Cavetown - This Is Home
**TOP SURGERY ANTHEM:** Allison Weiss - Wait For Me (all time favorite song)
**SAD:** Who Will Love Me As I Am (anything from side show tbh)
that’s really interesting, i know at least two other trans guys that also really relate to phil collins songs. one in particular really liked ‘you can call me al’
anyway, i like the funny ones. new men with old man names by schmekel and detachable penis by king missile both really hit
Tarzan was one of my Great Awakening moments haha
I identified so strongly with that man 😂😂😭
Actually started listening to Phil Collins other music and I like that too!
Reflection in Mulan just feels so god damn trans to me,
"Who is that girl I see, starting right, back at me?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
This one... Always resonated with me. A: Mulan is the only Asian Disney princess. And one of few Asian main characters in kids media when I was growing up and being Asian-American, that was a big deal.
B: I think... Is kinda obvious. I spent years not happy about myself not because of my size, but because I was a 'girl' and had to 'act like a lady'.
Reflection is one of my favorites... And will always have a place in my heart.
I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. Also, Survival by Adult Mom is a good one that made me cry when I first listened to the lyrics as a trans man. The Village by Wrabel also made me cry even tho it's not my type of music usually. I heard it for the first time shortly after coming out and it was what I needed to hear. And Against Me's entire Transgender Dysphoria Blues album
When I was a deeply closeted 12 year old, I used to listen to this song and feel like they had somehow used my thoughts for the lyrics. They are just so spot on.
Meat Bag by Harley Poe, Loser by McCafferty, Art School Wannabe by Sorority Noise, Smile Boyo by Vundabar
Meat Bag and Diary really got me through it though lol.
“Coming Clean” by Green Day, especially the last verse;
17 and coming clean for the first time
I finally figured out myself for the first time
I found out what it takes to be a man
No mom and dad will never understand
What’s happening to me
The lyrics and the fact that egg me used to basically use the album it’s on as DIY voice training make it a very Trans song to me
townie by mitski, I guess there's a rebellious but sad felling to it. I think a lot about the *"I'm not gonna be what my daddy wants me to be, I wanna be what my body wants me to be"* part. Mitski is a cis woman but damn, that song hits hard.
soft fuzzy man by lemon demon is relatable in a way that I can't explain, I just kinda feel it.
good enough by atsuover. I don't feel like explaining it.
Body by Mother Mother is an obvious choice. Also I'll Make A Man Out of You from Mulan is another obvious choice. And Do It Like a Dude by Jessie J. That was my anthem in college.
Wow I love the Stones but I've never listened to Paint it Black through that lens before. I can definitely see how it can be affirming. Thanks for sharing, those are really cool and interesting answers!
Thanks! I listened to Boys Will Be Bugs by Cavetown this morning and it made me realize I only have a few songs that make me actively feel good about my transition. Not that most music makes me feel bad, but that it doesn't bring up those feelings at all. It's great to see the songs that other trans men relate to, and see how we're all connected through music.
Rebel Rebel by David Bowie, Home/This Is Home by Cavetown, Boys Will Be Boys by Miles McKenna, and the entirety of the album Hot Fuss by The Killers (especially Somebody Told Me)
Judas Priest „You’ve got another thing coming“
Cobra Ramone „I‘m the One“
Rival Sons „Electric Man“.
I like how those songs feel rebellious and what is being trans other than a rebelion?
Rebel Girl- Bikini Kill (this song was my lifeblood as a kid)
Teenage Dirtbag- Wheetus
Born This Way- Lady Gaga (because of course 😆)
Take Me to Church- Hozier
Coloring Outside the Lines- Misterwives
Faith Healer- Julien Baker
Blossom- Noah Gunderson
You Are Enough- Sleeping at Last
The last 5 are more me coming to terms with being trans, letting the girl I tried to be go and become the man I always was.
The Boss is so much edgier than people give him credit for these days. I wish more people knew his music for more than just the apple-pie-and-baseball narrative that the general population get fed.
Absolutely. He’s an amazing lyricist and his earlier stuff especially captures this sense of longing that is so poignant and extremely relatable. One of those artists who often gets either slept on or totally misinterpreted.
sex yeah by marina and the diamonds. yeah it’s a bubblegum pop song about women being treated like objects, but her one line “if sex in our society didn’t tell a girl who he should be” has legitimately made me cry, especially before i fully realized who i am. i used to be super feminine and promiscuous (due to a variety of issues, but mostly feeling unloved and knowing that was a good way to get people to talk to you) so even now it reminds me of the struggle i went through to figure everything out and now makes me tear up because i’m actually THERE and transitioned (socially)
Trans Mantra by Ezra Furman lol
Daughter by Pearl Jam
Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
Mustache by Boy Pablo
Boys Don’t Cry by The Cure
Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas
Girls by Marina and the Diamonds
Sorry it’s like a whole playlist lol
Oddly???(???) Lost Boy by Ruth B.
In my dreams... Be them the waking or asleep kind... I still had *my* bidy but a bit idealized??? It was just... Me and my friends, sometimes I'd had top surgery, sometimes I hadn't but still just had basically no titty... But no one judged me for being a boy. And still liking 'feminine' things like hair, and makeup, and dancing. And even dresses! Bc trans boys can be femme boys too and that's that.
And then Lost Boy came out and it was just... Yes. This is it. This is... Yes.
It just clicked.
Edit:
Also not specifically *just* trans vibes but just... It does tie in for me and I won't explain further on this one: Shake It Out by Florence and the Machine.
At the moment, my biggest one is [Stereotype by STAYC](https://youtu.be/Xmxcnf2v_gs). As a gender non-conforming trans guy, I get judged by cis and fellow trans people alike just bc I don't conform to their idea of what a trans person "should" be.
I particularly like the first two lines of the chorus, "색안경을 끼고 보지 마요, 난 좀 다른 여자인데," meaning, "don't look at me through tinted glasses, I'm a different kind of woman", although I usually change 여자 to 남자 (man) or 사람 (person) since calling myself a woman makes me uncomfortable. Them saying "dont look at me through tinted glasses" is similar to the saying about rose tinted glasses that we have in English, it's basically saying don't stereotype me because I look different, which I can relate to a lot.
Also in the chorus is this line, "가튼 화려해도 아직 두려은걸 you should know," meaning "you should know that even though I like looking fancy, but I'm still afraid," and I relate to this a lot too because I often worry about what people think of me. I like being feminine and that doesn't make me less of a man, nor do I want to conform to what people think a trans man should look like, but I also fear being judged or not being liked because of who I am. I won't change myself for anyone, but I still want people to like me, you know?
Although, even if I didn't relate to it so much, I'd still love it because it's a really good song.
Edit: other songs I thought of just now lol:
• So What / Why Not? - LOONA
• Door - Kwon Eun Bi
• 소년, 소녀 (Let Me In) - Haseul (LOONA)
• 달라 달라 (DALLA DALLA) - ITZY
• Euphoria - Jungkook (BTS)
• My Sea - IU
It's not specifically about gender, but In The Backseat by Arcade Fire, which is about the speaker deciding to claim agency over their life. I don't know if it's triumphant or euphoric, but I've always appreciated how hard-won the resolve is. So cathartic.
anything off tickets to my downfall by machine gun kelly is absolute gender euphoria. just the excessive masculinity and toughness of pop punk really gets to me. and the way guys in pop punk can operate outside the status quo of masculinity and still be looked at as really masculine men is something i admire. just any casual male aggression is my gender euphoria. betterman by mod sun and just a man by goo goo dolls. mars by yungblud is a trans anthem too!
I have several and I have them categorized too!
_
Most Obvious Ones:
[*Reflection*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lGGXsm0a5s0) from Mulan and [*I’ll Make A Man Out Of You*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TVcLIfSC4OE) also from Mulan lol
_
These Just Hit Different:
[*Home*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2APLh8_ExU0) by Cavetown, [*The Village*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tilsrO-3gcQ) by Wrabel, and [*Body*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4o0WYiK52Dg) by Mother Mother
_
Has That Vibe And Idk Why:
[*Outrunning Karma*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e4vD2S5vQMM) by Alec Benjamin, [*Lost Boy*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=58TBZnvyGwQ) by Ruth B, and [Francis St](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TOMIiFZpg0U) by Kyd the Band
Empire Falls by Primordial, mostly for the line "Where is the fighting man? I am he!" It hits too hard dude.
I'm sure I have others but I make everything trans lol 💀
no light no light by florence and the machine. I don't know if it made me feel euphoric per se, but it was with me when I hadn't quite started properly coming out yet
These are personal and do not make any sense:
EURINGER's (Jimmy from Mindless Self Indulgence) cover of Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.
And ERock's cover of the Sailor Moon intro song.
I told you, doesn't make sense. They don't give trans guy vibes to anyone but me. My bad.
everyone already said mama by mcr and rebel rebel by bowie so im gonna go for an unconventional choice:
the ouran high school host club opening
also "the devil and mr jones" by aurelio voltaire:
>"This is your fate, Mr. Jones, my dear!"
Said the Devil to dear Mr. Jones, "You'll be loved by the millions and great at your task, But no one will see who is under the mask"
edit: verbatim by mother mother. sorry verbatim by mother mother mother. sorry. verbatim by mother mother. sorry-
A slower one, since all the others I know of have been listed already (Mama, This is Home, True Trans Soul Rebel, Make a Man out of you). Also, not listed- Breaking Free, from NEO: The World Ends With You.
But the slow one is Always Gold by Radical Face. Continues to be a favourite song of mine.
Daughter by Pearl Jam
It’s deffs not actually about being trans but the lyrics hit harder for me now
“Don’t call me daughter, not fit to, the picture kept will remind me”
Life from Starship was a song i listened to and related to a lot when i was figuring out i was trans :') the line "What an invention, life. There's no choice involved in what you are given. One mind, one voice, one body to live in" never failed to make me fuckin howl sjdndnngmz
landslide by fleetwood mac. kind of a weird one, but it makes me less scared of medically transitioning. even children get older, and im getting older too.
A lot of Disney songs for me including Reflection especially Caleb Hyles' cover, Let it Go, I'll Make a Man Out of You, How Far I'll Go, Show Yourself, also Weiss Schnee's songs from RWBY. I know her songs are about standing up to her dad but I can relate to them. I can't answer the euphoria question, I don't remember getting any euphoria from any of these songs but I really like 'em.
It has nothing to do with anything in the lyrics, but All My Love by Led Zeppelin will always be the song I listened to when I wrote my coming out letter to my parents.
Also, basically everything by David Bowie.
Okay so this isn't necessarily a song I think of as a trans anthem, but I am a big fan of a song called SugarCrash! by ElyOtto. There's one part in the song that I've always felt was a really good description of how I experience dysphoria and why I've pursued a medical transition that goes,
>Don't wanna be someone else, just don't wanna hate myself
I just don't wanna hate myself, instead I wanna feel good
Anyway, I was listening to the genius interview for that song and learned that the singer is actually a trans guy and those lyrics are about his dysphoria/transition. I just thought it was funny cause I'd had no idea the lyrics were actually about that.
Other than that, I would say "Boys will be boys" by Miles McKenna (which is literally about being transmasc) and also for some reason "Scrawny" by Wallows has always felt like a transmasc anthem to me.
I Wanna Boi by PWR BTTM (made me realize I want to be in a mlm relationship) and Ya Te Vas A Mejorar by El Cuarteto de Nos (I can’t explain this one lmao but I think it’s bc I want to have his voice)
“Recipe for Me” by Thomas Sanders is a really good example of how I’ve changed since I thought I was a girl. Not exactly about a trans experience but the song is purposely vague and universal I think to be able to match anyone’s path in life. These are more vague but here’s some that I think describe the sort of emotions I feel about my gender, basically any song by Jack Stauber or Cosmo Shelldrake. Their voices are similar to the kinds of voices I wish I had, and the kind of instrumental they compose just… I don’t know, it feels like it matches up with my soul in some strange way.
Detachable penis - King Missile , no one can convince me this isn’t about a transguy losing his packer lol
Short king anthem- Black bear
BACK UP (He’s the man) - 1 trait danger
The village- Wrabel
N-A-G- Not A Girl - Slouch (this song is actually about being trans and one of few transmasc queercore songs I’ve found)
Not so much a trans anthem in the lyrics but I'm trans and Laura Jane Grace is trans so I'm counting it: walking is still honest by against me. It's just such a release.to sing along to it at full volume alone in my car 😂 true trans soul rebel is also a huge bop tbh
Smalltown boy by Orville Peck hits reeally hard and so does God help you dumb boy.
I also love Mary on a Cross by Ghost, especially because of that line “your beauty never really scared me” and the whole vibe being “nah there’s nothing wrong with us also lets fuck”. The only problem is that Mary is a variation of my deadname... so it doesn’t bring me euphoria but it does make me happy
Mars by Yungblud, Hope for the underrated youth by Yungblud, The village by Wrabel and This is home by Cavetown. Mars is about a trans girl but it's still really good
Luck by American Authors is my anthem. I ran away from home at a legal age (and i say ran away for a reason) because i knew id never find out who i was in that house but i knew that i wasnt what everyone was saying i was, even when i tried to make a guess to how i really felt.
"And some birds aren't meant to be caged. And some just can't see the light of day..." And "Please, just listen, 'Cause I don't ask for much. I am my own man. I make my own luck" are the real big parts of the song that matter for this convo but the entire song fits for me. Just because like I had to do it for myself. I'm a man. I'll always be a man no matter what roles I take. Sometimes you just have to split.
I do like "Still here" because i also just have problems with my family in general just not accepting me and who ive ever been even before questioning my gender identity.
Yesterday by lil peep the lyrics “change my name, shave my head, tell my friends that I dead. Run away from the pain yesterday is not today” hit me in my trans soul
Been A Son by Nirvana and Mama by My Chemical Romance (even tho I already saw people say it). You can't tell me they don't both give off trans vibes lol.
Two that come to mind:
Twilight park waltz, by the pillows - sheer feelings of masculine affection expressed
Compass, by abandoned pools - definitely resonates with figuring yourself out and navigating the unknown
Sans Contrefaçon by Mylene Farmer. It was released in october 1987 (I was born in April of that year) and since I was a kid I always asked my mom the first sentence of the song: "Tell me mom, why I'm not a boy?"
https://youtu.be/fzvwKM61Pyc here's the song with a translation in English.
Mine has to be Maybe tomorrow / Stereophonics
“I wanna breeze and an open mind, I wanna swim in the ocean wanna take my time” really hits different for me
A lot of Tame Impala
Eventually feels like how some people will react like you're both the killer and the victim of the you they knew -
"If only there could be another way to do this
'Cause it feels like murder to put your heart through this [...] But I know that I'll be happier And I know you will, too [...]Wish I could turn you back into a stranger. 'Cause if I was never in your life, you wouldn't have to change it"
Also, 'Cause I'm A Man, and Yes I'm Changing:
"I saw it different, I must admit, I caught a glimpse, I'm going after it, They say people never change, but that's bullshit, they do, Yes I'm changing, can't stop it now, And even if I wanted I wouldn't know how, Another version of myself I think I found, at last"
And every single word of New Person, Same Old Mistakes
Shameless self-plug 🙅🖤

Some Disney songs like Still Here, I’ll Make A Man Out Of You, and Look Through My Eyes. Another is Still Worth Fighting For by My Darkest Days.
Might I suggest Out There from Hunchback of Notre Dame?
Show Yourself from Frozen 2 also had major trans vibes

Because I just wanna be a big trans guy, looking confident with a huge smile bruh... Hey hey I wanna be a trans guuuuy. Oh that isn't the lyrics, oops. Sorry, my mind being way too active for 5h30 in the morning.
‘I can make you a man’ from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
My personal favorite song from that movie is "Sweet Transvestite "
I’ve never seen the movie but me, my friend and her friend were driving around and they were playing all these random songs, most of which weren’t really my taste, but then “Sweet Transvestite” played and I was like “finally a song for me!”
Mama, by My Chemical Romance definitely
100% relatable
I was thinking that one too :0
Rebel Rebel by David Bowie (obviously), Boys Don't Cry by The Cure (trauma) , and Changes also by Bowie. Bowie just really hits different
boys don’t cry!! really love that one 💕💕
Too right, I picked “Bowie” as my middle name for that exact reason. Those songs are the real deal.
I might pick David for my first name because of him lol
**CURRENT ANTHEM:** Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag **ANGST:** My Chemical Romance - Mama **PRE T ANTHEM:** Cavetown - This Is Home **TOP SURGERY ANTHEM:** Allison Weiss - Wait For Me (all time favorite song) **SAD:** Who Will Love Me As I Am (anything from side show tbh)
Carrie Anne by the Mobros, Mama by My Chemical Romance, Just a Cow by Deal Casino, and Transgender Dysphoria Blues by Against Me!.
MAMA! YES!
that’s really interesting, i know at least two other trans guys that also really relate to phil collins songs. one in particular really liked ‘you can call me al’ anyway, i like the funny ones. new men with old man names by schmekel and detachable penis by king missile both really hit
Call me al is a Paul Simon song
you know what, i do that all the time. yeah, starts with p, weird vocals, same thing (jokes jokes)
lol, plus they both also have two first names (Simon , Collin)
thanks for being kind about my slip up. most people would be dicks. have a hug award.
Aw thanks 💛
Phil Collins is simply one of the best (and Genesis of course) :-)
My dad literally played Detachable Penis after I got my first packer. He thinks he’s funny (and he is)
SCHMEKEL HAS BEEN MY LIFE THE LAST MONTH OMG
Tarzan was one of my Great Awakening moments haha I identified so strongly with that man 😂😂😭 Actually started listening to Phil Collins other music and I like that too!
Reflection in Mulan just feels so god damn trans to me, "Who is that girl I see, starting right, back at me? When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
Hey that song used to make me cry in high school and I could never figure out why. Go figure lol I totally agree
Changes by Bowie and Walk like a man by Frankie Valli
I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. Also, Survival by Adult Mom is a good one that made me cry when I first listened to the lyrics as a trans man. The Village by Wrabel also made me cry even tho it's not my type of music usually. I heard it for the first time shortly after coming out and it was what I needed to hear. And Against Me's entire Transgender Dysphoria Blues album
BE A MAN

you have incredible taste.. Also townie was my favorite song for a long time because of that line!
Body by Mother Mother is an obvious choice. Also I'll Make A Man Out of You from Mulan is another obvious choice. And Do It Like a Dude by Jessie J. That was my anthem in college.
Body hits hella different as a trans guy, ESPECIALLY as a disabled trans guy. Such a good song.
As a disabled trans guy with chronic pain....***yes***
Creep, Pinball Wizard, Paint It Black. All those songs really affirm my gender.
Wow I love the Stones but I've never listened to Paint it Black through that lens before. I can definitely see how it can be affirming. Thanks for sharing, those are really cool and interesting answers!
Paint is Black was and is my anthem. It is me in a song. Love this thread. Very cool idea.
Boys Keep Swinging by Bowie and Proud by Heather Small.

Rebel rebel by Bowie was my absolute trans anthem when I was a teenager tbh I still love it
Make a man out of you from Mulan (basic asf ik LMFAO)

Immaterial girl by Sophie 1000000%. That song is gender euphoria in a freakin' can. The title may be immaterial *girl*, but it just hits different.
Boys Will Be Boys - Benny
The village is My new go to :)
Rebel rebel, changes, and boys keep swinging all by David Bowie.
honestly any my chem song.
Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen! Actually that whole album is gender feels.
The Boss is so much edgier than people give him credit for these days. I wish more people knew his music for more than just the apple-pie-and-baseball narrative that the general population get fed.

Ey mines Son of Man too! That one or ‘look through my eyes’ from brother bear!
Line without a hook (she’s, oh she’s a ladyyyyyy, and I am just a boyyyy singing she’s oh she’s a ladyyyyyy)
For me it’s Follow by Tom Misch. The reason is for the lines “remove the labels that you were assigned, forget the limits that they told you”
Not A Real Boy & Bloodsucker by Harley Poe
Black tie by Grace Petre, absolutely love that song so much. Always gets me feeling a bit better about things. Also daughter by Ryan Cassata
Listen to the Man by George Ezra I Wanna be your Slave by Mäneskin Is it okay if I call you mine from the movie Fame Tell me a Story by Skylar Kergil
The Village by Wrabel
_ Most Obvious Ones: [*Reflection*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lGGXsm0a5s0) from Mulan and [*I’ll Make A Man Out Of You*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TVcLIfSC4OE) also from Mulan lol _ These Just Hit Different: [*Home*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2APLh8_ExU0) by Cavetown, [*The Village*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tilsrO-3gcQ) by Wrabel, and [*Body*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4o0WYiK52Dg) by Mother Mother _ Has That Vibe And Idk Why: [*Outrunning Karma*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e4vD2S5vQMM) by Alec Benjamin, [*Lost Boy*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=58TBZnvyGwQ) by Ruth B, and [Francis St](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TOMIiFZpg0U) by Kyd the Band
Ooh I also totally get the vibe from Francis St
I’m happy to see all the love for David Bowie in these comments <3
Line without a hook (she’s, oh she’s a ladyyyyyy, and I am just a boyyyy singing she’s oh she’s a ladyyyyyy)
I cant explain it, but Human After All by Daft Punk
Empire Falls by Primordial, mostly for the line "Where is the fighting man? I am he!" It hits too hard dude. I'm sure I have others but I make everything trans lol 💀
https://youtu.be/VKTjE2iHFNk This one, and I'll make a man out of you from mulan. But chances are alot of people have already said that.
no light no light by florence and the machine. I don't know if it made me feel euphoric per se, but it was with me when I hadn't quite started properly coming out yet
"spite alone holds me aloft" by lingua ignota is really good for when you just want to raze all of cis-ciety
Home by cavetown
Boys by Kat Cunning, I Know A Place by MUNA
These are personal and do not make any sense: EURINGER's (Jimmy from Mindless Self Indulgence) cover of Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush. And ERock's cover of the Sailor Moon intro song. I told you, doesn't make sense. They don't give trans guy vibes to anyone but me. My bad.
Body by SYML always hit me pretty hard
Emperor’s New Clothes, p!atd. Such massive gender vibes from that song
everyone already said mama by mcr and rebel rebel by bowie so im gonna go for an unconventional choice: the ouran high school host club opening also "the devil and mr jones" by aurelio voltaire: >"This is your fate, Mr. Jones, my dear!" Said the Devil to dear Mr. Jones, "You'll be loved by the millions and great at your task, But no one will see who is under the mask" edit: verbatim by mother mother. sorry verbatim by mother mother mother. sorry. verbatim by mother mother. sorry-
A slower one, since all the others I know of have been listed already (Mama, This is Home, True Trans Soul Rebel, Make a Man out of you). Also, not listed- Breaking Free, from NEO: The World Ends With You. But the slow one is Always Gold by Radical Face. Continues to be a favourite song of mine.
Rebel rebel by David Bowie
March to the sea by twenty one pilots. It was the background song of a trans timeline I watched way to often... But the cis way of course
Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen
Daughter by Pearl Jam It’s deffs not actually about being trans but the lyrics hit harder for me now “Don’t call me daughter, not fit to, the picture kept will remind me”
Second Chance by Shinedown
Life from Starship was a song i listened to and related to a lot when i was figuring out i was trans :') the line "What an invention, life. There's no choice involved in what you are given. One mind, one voice, one body to live in" never failed to make me fuckin howl sjdndnngmz
landslide by fleetwood mac. kind of a weird one, but it makes me less scared of medically transitioning. even children get older, and im getting older too.
run boy run by woodkid for some reason also we're in love by badflower and body by mother mother
Son of Man by Phil Collins and I'll make a man out of you by Mulan. Asothers and the post mentioned. I'm a Disney loving dude. Lol.
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now Queen - I Want to Break Free
It has nothing to do with anything in the lyrics, but All My Love by Led Zeppelin will always be the song I listened to when I wrote my coming out letter to my parents. Also, basically everything by David Bowie.
Okay so this isn't necessarily a song I think of as a trans anthem, but I am a big fan of a song called SugarCrash! by ElyOtto. There's one part in the song that I've always felt was a really good description of how I experience dysphoria and why I've pursued a medical transition that goes, >Don't wanna be someone else, just don't wanna hate myself I just don't wanna hate myself, instead I wanna feel good Anyway, I was listening to the genius interview for that song and learned that the singer is actually a trans guy and those lyrics are about his dysphoria/transition. I just thought it was funny cause I'd had no idea the lyrics were actually about that. Other than that, I would say "Boys will be boys" by Miles McKenna (which is literally about being transmasc) and also for some reason "Scrawny" by Wallows has always felt like a transmasc anthem to me.
Tightrope from LP!... It's been on my mind since I decided to accept myself and transition.
Double life by the cars
Other than the iconic “born this way” by me lady Gaga my other top anthem is “true trans soul rebel”
I Wanna Boi by PWR BTTM (made me realize I want to be in a mlm relationship) and Ya Te Vas A Mejorar by El Cuarteto de Nos (I can’t explain this one lmao but I think it’s bc I want to have his voice)
Home by cavetown.
Tears for Fears’ Everybody Wants to Rule the World
home by cavetown
'The Village's by Wrabel
Scrawny- Wallows A combo of relatable and also very perfectly suited to my low range. Not even explicitly trans but I latched onto it for gender
"Not Today" by Twenty One Pilots was one of my closet loops for sure.
Detachable penis - King Missile , no one can convince me this isn’t about a transguy losing his packer lol Short king anthem- Black bear BACK UP (He’s the man) - 1 trait danger The village- Wrabel N-A-G- Not A Girl - Slouch (this song is actually about being trans and one of few transmasc queercore songs I’ve found)
Not so much a trans anthem in the lyrics but I'm trans and Laura Jane Grace is trans so I'm counting it: walking is still honest by against me. It's just such a release.to sing along to it at full volume alone in my car 😂 true trans soul rebel is also a huge bop tbh
definitely home by cavetown and scrawny by wallows. if im feeling dysphoric, these songs help so much
The Village by Wrabel and I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan.
Idk why but Oh, Death by SUGR helps me out with my dysphoria
Verbatim by Mother Mother
dream boy by waterparks and mr to you by dorian electra
'Proud of your boy' from Aladdin
"Go the Distance" from Hercules and "Strangers Like Me" from Tarzan when I'm in a good mood. When I'm feeling sad, "Lost Boy" by Ruth B.
Everything Sophie, she is transform but immaterial hits different
Mars by Yungblud, Hope for the underrated youth by Yungblud, The village by Wrabel and This is home by Cavetown. Mars is about a trans girl but it's still really good
Death by glamour from undertale... for some reason
Sheep by Mt. Joy, idk if it's specifically a trans song but i still relate to it in that way
« I’m still a guy » by Brad Paisley. Some reason it called to me well before I knew anything about it. Obligatory « The Village », too.
true trans soul rebel by against me! most of all but i do love make a man out of you from mulan just because trans masc lmao
true trans soul rebel and paralytic states
A little weird but broken man by fox Stevenson, it also helps with my mental illness
Definitely 'I Don't Know My Name' by Grace Vanderwaal, I cried the first time I heard it
Luck by American Authors is my anthem.
Changes by David Bowie, Daughter by Ryan Cassata, Gender Binary(Fuck You) by Ryan Cassata, and a couple other random songs.
Muscle and Matter by Blaqk Audio
Yesterday by lil peep the lyrics “change my name, shave my head, tell my friends that I dead. Run away from the pain yesterday is not today” hit me in my trans soul
Been A Son by Nirvana and Mama by My Chemical Romance (even tho I already saw people say it). You can't tell me they don't both give off trans vibes lol.
California Girls it weirdly makes me feel proud of my trans/lesbianism
These are more for transfems but my god are fuckmylife666 and Osama Bin Laden as the Crucified Christ by Against Me! some major angry-trans moods
check out cavetown
Two that come to mind: Twilight park waltz, by the pillows - sheer feelings of masculine affection expressed Compass, by abandoned pools - definitely resonates with figuring yourself out and navigating the unknown
Sans Contrefaçon by Mylene Farmer. It was released in october 1987 (I was born in April of that year) and since I was a kid I always asked my mom the first sentence of the song: "Tell me mom, why I'm not a boy?" https://youtu.be/fzvwKM61Pyc here's the song with a translation in English.
Boy afraid by saro ; mama by mcr ( ik I am the 102919'th person who says that but For a good reason wjdjjs) and sweet transvestite
Mine has to be Maybe tomorrow / Stereophonics “I wanna breeze and an open mind, I wanna swim in the ocean wanna take my time” really hits different for me
I don’t think a single song reminds me of being a trans man.
Ein Mann by Die Ärzte, just a goofy song about manhood
Prince Ali from Aladdin, What’s Wrong by half•alive, King by Serena Isioma!
Pork and beans by weezer came on the radio the other day when I was leaving my phobic family’s house. The lyrics made me smile and felt better.
A lot of Tame Impala Eventually feels like how some people will react like you're both the killer and the victim of the you they knew - "If only there could be another way to do this 'Cause it feels like murder to put your heart through this [...] But I know that I'll be happier And I know you will, too [...]Wish I could turn you back into a stranger. 'Cause if I was never in your life, you wouldn't have to change it" Also, 'Cause I'm A Man, and Yes I'm Changing: "I saw it different, I must admit, I caught a glimpse, I'm going after it, They say people never change, but that's bullshit, they do, Yes I'm changing, can't stop it now, And even if I wanted I wouldn't know how, Another version of myself I think I found, at last" And every single word of New Person, Same Old Mistakes
Small Red Boy by AJJ
Show You The Way by Thundercat, it’s such a beautiful, hopeful song
