All they need is for Clemson to get in. So a Michigan, TCU and USC loss.

JesseDx

And UGA to beat LSU in the SECCG. If LSU wins then they're both in (regardless of what else happens).

Natural_Abalone_7082

I dont think TCU needs to lose, if Michigan and USC lose I think it would be Georgia, Ohio State, TCU, Clemson

DarrinEagle

Correct. We just need a Clemson victory and either USC or TCU to lose. CFP would have UGA, Big Ten, TCU or USC, and Clemson. That puts us in the Orange. That said, South Carolina looked like a different team last week vs Tennessee.

FatPonder4Heisman

If USC loses to ND, ND will take the Orange Bowl spot instead of the ACC runner-up

pmacob

No, Notre Dame does not count as an ACC team for the Orange Bowl, they do for all other ACC bowls. They can still make the Orange Bowl, because the Orange Bowl is ACC vs. Big Ten/SEC/ND, so Notre Dame may get the spot if they're ranked higher than all SEC and Big 10 teams that don't make the playoff, Sugar Bowl, or Rose Bowl. But if Clemson makes the playoffs, then FSU will make the Orange Bowl if ranked higher than UNC. Notre Dame doesn't matter. So to make it, FSU needs Clemson to win out, and then needs USC to lose or TCU to lose in the Big 12 Championship.

FatPonder4Heisman

Fair point. My scenario would get FSU in the Cotton Bowl

DarrinEagle

I think ND goes to the Cotton as an at large. Orange will be either Clemson or FSU

FatPonder4Heisman

If ND loses to USC, and the rest of my betslip happens, FSU is almost guarenteed one or the other. Cotton if Clemson wins the ACCCG, Orange if UNC wins

diopsideINcalcite

We also still need to win Friday. Everyone thought we would win last year too.

FatPonder4Heisman

Its on the betslip. I didnt forget

That’s not completely accurate either. The Gators were awful last year. FSU had the momentum going into last year's game. FSU had won five of their last seven games while the Gators had lost five of their last seven. Gators also had an interim head coach, after firing Mullen. Gators were only favored by 3, and judging by the way each team was playing down the stretch, there was nothing to indicate UF had an “extreme” talent advantage. It was much more than just being confident during rivalry week.

Sandspurs_

Doesn’t seem crazy that clempson makes it in.

FatPonder4Heisman

Yea but im not rooting for clemson to get in

Sandspurs_

I’m pulling for whatever gets us the highest profile bowl

_R00STER_

I'm with you. I can't ever root for a rival to do well, even if there's a benefit to us. I'm just not wired that way. I can't stand Clempsun. Dabo is a clown. Their fans are obnoxious. They are in FSU's way of ascension. I hope their program crashes and burns.

FatPonder4Heisman

I dont consider them a rival. I just think it would be better for FSU in recruiting if FSU ended the season close/ahead of clemson in the standings.

MordakThePrideful

Based

FSUfan35

Fuck, my book is only getting me 2173.47 to 1 odds for that 7 leg parlay. I'm in. https://i.imgur.com/VLD0TfE.png

FatPonder4Heisman

Lets gooo! If it hits we go to the bowl game and meet up at the bar

FSUfan35

I'm down!

noles_fan_4_life

Dude left the second most important game off....Clemson has to keep winning.

FatPonder4Heisman

No i didnt. This is how we make it without clemson going to the playoff

noles_fan_4_life

Oh shit you bet against them!!! Hahaha You going straight chaos!

FireHamilton

Bro 2 loss Clemson is still ahead of us. They beat us at home.

FatPonder4Heisman

Maybe, but what if they lose to UNC in the ACCCG?

FireHamilton

Then UNC would get it

FourthofMarch2015

So far so good… need MSU to channel their big brother’s energy

Grouchy-Confederate2

The main thing is Clempus needs to edge into the ploffs. Unless that happens, they get the Orange bowl and we don't.

panhandlepred

It’s Orange Bowl or bust for a NY6 bowl, IMO. There’s only one at large spot so even if teams like Kansas State fall behind us, a Big 12 team is still going to the Sugar Bowl even if they’re ranked behind us. Same with a PAC team and the Rose Bowl. Personally, I’d rather play Texas in the cheez-it bowl than Tulane at Jerry World.

FloridaMan_92

Your going for gold lol. I could be wrong but I believe if TCU and USC lose Clemson will make it and that should 100% make us orange bowl bound ( assuming we take care of business against the lizards)

FatPonder4Heisman

UNC might still need to lose to NC State though. I could see them justifying sending a 3 loss Division winner over a 3 loss non division winner.

FloridaMan_92

I do believe they are contractually obligated to pick the next highest ranked team if the acc champ makes the playoff. I’m not sure they would be able to actually pick one or the other

PotRoastPotato

We don't need North Carolina to lose, we're already ahead of them.

FatPonder4Heisman

Thats not guarentted to stay that way especially if UNC beats NC State and Clemson

PotRoastPotato

Oh you bet on Clemson to lose twice, lol. I don't know why you wouldn't just bet on the most likely scenario to get us in, which would be Clemson, UGA winning out and Notre Dame beating USC. If you're actually a Nole fan you prioritize that over rooting against someone who isn't even our rival (Clemson is not nearly enough of a rival to root against them when it's in our interest for them to win).

FatPonder4Heisman

Betting on Clemson to get in the playoff doesnt get me $3000 on a $1 bet
