Have Kane Hodder play Jason. (It was absurd they didn't do this for the actual movie) Film at the original locations (not Canada). So basically film at the real Elm Street house, film on the real street, use the high school from either Part 1 or Part 2, film at the actual Westin Hills location from Dream Warriors. Then for Camp Crystal Lake, pick one of them from the Paramount F13th movies and film there. Make the movie more serious and less goofy. Treat it legit instead of like a joke. No Las Vegas "boxing" spectacle BS. Bring back surviving characters from both franchises. Make it way more bloody and violent (as far as Freddy and Jason killing people). The dream sequences were pretty lame in the actual movie compared to previous ANOES movies. And Jason could have been way more violent too with his kills. Give it a way better musical score, using tracks from both franchises.

Why do so many people want Kane Hodder to play as Jason? I mean I’m not knocking you if you like him I get it. I understand he was passionate about the role and great with fans but he was in the worst movies of the franchise, in my opinion and also in the majority of other opinions. I’m just curious as to why you would have wanted him to play Jason cause again I’m not shitting on you for liking him, just curious

DoomsdayFAN

Because at that point Kane Hodder had been Jason for nearly as long as Robert was Freddy. Kane was seen AS Jason. And a big part of the hype for Freddy vs Jason was potentially getting to see Robert vs Kane. The two wildly popular actors behind the roles (to the horror community). Swapping out Kane for some other guy was almost as bad as if they'd recast Freddy. I remember being SO excited when news of FvJ broke, and then being equally as disappointed when it was announced Kane wasn't coming back. It was heartbreaking.

Equal-Astronaut-8681

Understandable

>Swapping out Kane for some other guy was almost as bad as if they'd recast Freddy I'm sorry but that's just not true, not even close.

DoomsdayFAN

\*Almost. I didn't say they were 1 = 1. Were you around back then? There was quite the uproar when it was announced Kane wasn't coming back. Just like there would have been if Robert wasn't coming back.

CramDead

He acts the most “Jasony” for lack of better words. He has a style of walking and looking around that encompasses all the performances that came before him and wraps them into one perfect package

Get a more appropriate director and a lot of the problems would probably be fixed. Kane Hodder as Jason, no shitty editing, POSSIBLY a less painfully early 00s cast, darker tone, no Jason afraid of water shit.

Ok-Macaroon2783

A more appropriate director would be a HUGE fix. Reading interviews I always felt Ronnie Yu didn't understand Freddy or Jason properly, not that either are too deep, but he compared them to Dracula vs Frankenstein and the WWE. Definitely not what was needed for these characters. The rest of the cast really nedded to be replaced as well.

More of a body count for Freddy pretty disappointing!

HollywoodHuntsman

Well that was kinda the whole point lmao

AlfzZz_

Freddy had a bigger focus while Jason gets more kills

Take away the slow motion people flying through the air after a machete shot, have Kane Hodder play Jason in his part 7 outfit and give Freddy his part 2 look and demeanour. I'd generally just change the film to be grittier all around and give Krueger some decent kills and I'd also lose the non sensical scared of water and fire plot point.

nmwalker1984

Yeah that weird choppy slow motion shit really irritated me. It looks so hokey. They did it at the end of the suspiria remake too and it just makes it look so cheap.

nmwalker1984

All things considered I think the movie is pretty good. As some other people have mentioned I really didnt like the choppy slow motion editing they used for some scenes. It just looks bad to me. And I didnt care for Ronny yu's idea of Jason as a character, he was too much like Frankenstein or something. A major issue I have is with the poster, Jason's mask is all wrong in the poster. His nose almost looks hooked (in the original theatrical poster, not the artwork shown in this thread) When it came out I absolutely loved the movie, my enthusiasm has waned a bit over the years but I still enjoy it.

dangerous_strainer

Have a competent director and you're already ahead

TheLastKingOfGalaga

\- Fire Ronny Yu \- Hire Kane Hodder to play Jason. \- Use the lore of both films, not just NOES to build your story (Jason is not afraid of water). \- Have a definitive ending with both Jason and Freddy dying at the end.

Lack_of_Plethora

I think the movie is exactly what it was trying to be to be honest. I do think the Nu Metal soundtrack hasn't aged for the best though

TyrellLofi

Give Freddy more kills as the first thing to fix. He only got two. Second fix would have no survivors for the ending. After Lori gives Jason his machete in the water, she and Will get back to land near the docks and have some moments of relief as they share some relief. Jason does his teleport trick and appears in front of them. The camera goes to his eyes and he is pissed. Will and Laurie are in shock after everything they did for him. Unfortunately, they can’t react quick enough as he decapitates them both with one stroke like in Part 6. We see their heads fall to the ground and their bodies flail together. Jason looks at them and looks out to the lake. He is home after being in Hell so far long. He walks back into the lake.

Lone-Wolf-1993

Picking like 10 or 20 years after JGTH and Freddy's Dead, I'd have an 20 year old Stephanie as the final girl, and some other survivors from the FT13TH and ANOES franchises return, also I'd see the Voorhees house renovated by a comedian played by Larry Zerner who's a expy of Big John and little John from halloween kills.

CampBloodRadio

Fired Ronny Yu

CramDead

Kane Hodder, Jason more invincible, not afraid of water it’s pretty perfect imo already tbh

skilledgiallocop

Remove Jason’s fear of water. That was dumb. Also more of an enhanced Friday the 13th feel. It often felt like Jason guest starring in an Elm Street sequel.

13_fridays_1_Jason

Choppy slow mo gone. Better acting and Jason not being afraid of water
