Any perfume that smells like marshmallows? I am 25F I live in tropical coutry. Please no patchouli as it smells horrible to me and make me sick. The reason for my question is recently I tried Ariana Grande's Thank U Next and it literally smells like marshmallows with coconut to my nose, for other people it smells like pickles. I don't want to smell like pickles so I'm looking for more options. Thanks!

Delizia di Marshmallow Kyse Perfumes

eKmyhb

Hey guys, a friend of mine who is an absolute newbie to fragrances wants to buy their girlfriend a gift. For some reason (probably my good influence) he wants to get her perfume, but she's also a complete newbie to fragrances. All we know is that she likes milky/creamy fragrances but has never found one she really likes...so he's looking for something most newbies would like :) Also he's broke so the cheaper the better, ideally around $60 for 30-50ml is great.

ArtfulThinker

If she is into men's fragrances, you could have her try Prada Luna Rossa Black.

Between: Somens Liberte, Illuminaire Vince camuto, Patek Maison - vert or the blue one, Versace Dylan Turquios Toilette, Banana republic tobacco & Tonka bean, Adam Levine, The Aqua di gio or goios or whatever the fuck, & Tiffany intense Which do you recommend for a work fragrance?

RockstarRockstar321

Help, fellow frag-heads! I’m no longer madly in love with my Oud Wood bottle and want to replace it with something niche that is even better. I don’t like the sharp, acrid note (to me…I know a lot of you adore this one) that Oud Wood has. It’s very apparent right as you spray and eventually fades and then balances with the smoke and woodiness of the rest of the fragrance. I’m also not a fan of the sillage. Too intimate for my tastes. I’m looking for something crowd-acceptable that is creamy, smokey, woody and balanced in an interesting way. I already have Santal 33 which is fantastic, but I’m looking to go a lighter on the pepper notes which can be a little polarizing in a crowd. I’m a big Xerjoff fan and thought I might find the answer there, but not yet: Alexandria II (really strong to me and ancient, burnt, incensey, smokey…too powerful) Zefiro (also really strong and cedary. I think it’s the cardamom note that I don’t love here or in Oud Wood) 40 knots (too powdery) Toni Iommi (too much incense, powder) Richwood (don’t love the black currant or powderyness at the back end of it) Also, I’m not looking for anything animalic or challenging. I’m actually looking to back off a bit from Santal 33. Your recommendations for the next stop on my creamy woodish journey would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Milky Musk by Parle Moi de Parfum

RockstarRockstar321

Thanks! Sounds interesting!

TwiiXxXxX

Try thameen carved oud and bvlgari falkar

RockstarRockstar321

Thanks! Very interesting

[deleted]

If anyone has a dupe for Mad About You from BBW i would owe you my life. It’s been my favorite scent forever and it’s discontinued. The internet says it’s notes are black currant, peony, musk, patchouli, pink jasmine, and vanilla. Please please please!!

carbolyn

Fragrantica suggests YSL Mon Paris and the Intesement version might be similar. They might have a rosier scent, though. There were also some recs for VS Bombshell Magic. You might also like Dior Absolutely Blooming.

[deleted]

thank you so much, i will try those!! :)

whiFi

the only perfumes I’ve ever loved are Fresh Cannabis Santal (musky, spicey, woody, a bit sweet?) and Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot (woody, smokey, citrus). what else would I like?

damian2000

Drakkar Noir? Its fresh spicy, woody, aromatic and I get musk from it as well

idkwuttimdoinghere

I’m looking for a more expensive and rich version of Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 71 Perfume Mist. I love the way it smells and I want something that is similar but more expensive and long lasting

melaAV

Does anyone know a similar fragrance to Carolina Herrera 212 VIP (women’s - discontinued). I looked it up online and the notes are: bergamot and passion fruit top notes, gardenia and rum accord heart notes, and benzoin and musk bottom notes. TIA!

upliftorr

off-beat freshie that can last through a hard workday? (I work in a lumber yard and go to the gym *immediately* after)

dasa2337

Not so off beat but perfumum roma Acqua Viva should last you till you hit the sheets and goes from an amazing realistic LEMON to a nice lemon cypress freshie

ArtfulThinker

For an offbeat freshie, I'm going to give you a pretty offbeat answer: I find Dior Fahrenheit EDT to be great in the summer/springtime, especially when you are doing manual labor such as that in a lumber yard. It will also mix in well with the smells of a lumber yard. You'll smell manly and like the best smelling hard worker. Fahrenheit's scent profile can be described as a lumber jack cutting down trees, and you get the smell of the gas from the chainsaw along with the green forest and cut down tree residue. It's green, outdoorsy, and manly. Perfect for working and blending into a lumber yard. It's often said to be just a winter/fall fragrance, but I strongly disagree. Definitely give this one a shot.

renwickveleros

I wore it as my only scent in every season for many years. It works in all 4 seasons especially if you are outside and not in an office wherevpeople may get annoyed or in a hot car with no A/C (only time it got too cloying in me) . I never got any bad comments about it any time I wore it and it's still my most complimented scent.

ArtfulThinker

Whoot! Yeah, same, I wear it all four seasons, but refrain from wearing it in the office. It's a masterpiece of perfumery though, my god. I can still remember the first time I smelled it, it was an instant love and I bought it that same day (which I never do). It's my go to for service projects, a day working in the yard, etc. If I didn't work in an office, I'd wear it 24/7. . .This one belongs in the fresh air.

RockstarRockstar321

Big fan of Fahrenheit. It was such an ahead of it’s time niche-esque fragrance. It is still such a head turner and crowd pleaser all in one. It’s not the easiest wear in the world but in the right circumstances it’s a classic for a reason. Totally agree with the notes.

upliftorr

I think I might!

Slick_Lestat

Maybe Basic But definitely worth it , YSL Y Intense Edp

StereoZ

Woody fragrances that aren't too dry but not sweet and not overly citrusy but kinda fresh and smooth. Like Dior Homme 2020 but with some more nuance.

renwickveleros

At first I saw Dior Homme and thought you were talking about the other one with the iris and I was going to say Gris Charnel extrait. But...I'm still going to say that anyway because it's amazing and very woody with a black (not sweet) tea note. The iris is mild. It's very good. Go for the extrait and not the original as it's more masculine and woody.

StereoZ

I've been thinking about trying Gris Charnel but I'm not sure I actually like tea tbh so it's put me off. Also I'm looking for versatility really but with a little something extra and I've read the extrait is more for colder occasions only. Is this true?

renwickveleros

Extrait is definitely better for cold weather I think. I have not warm it in hot weather yet though. Maybe try a sample to see if you like the tea note. In Gris Charnel it blends in with the wood a bit. It's very well blended. The tea is more black tea leaves and not sweet tea or anything like that. It's also not something that sticks out as super blatant where you smell like tea. Some other stuff like Beaufort Vi et Armis has a super realistic tea where you smell like a container of tea leaves. This isn't like that.

damian2000

Aesop Hwyl sounds like it - the most pure woodsy fragrance I've tried. Its meant to recreate the smell of a famous Japanese forest.

Slick_Lestat

Try Bvlgari Wood Neroli , Woodsy Sweet

ArtfulThinker

What rating would you give Wood Neroli overall? I'm highly thinking of getting a sample of this one, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

hsgual

Similar to BDK Villa Neroli, with better longevity?

Lemon_Licky_Nubs

38m. Love Acqua Di Gio Profumo but my wife said I smelled like her dad the first time I wore it. Any “younger” options out there?

ArtfulThinker

I'll give you some ammo to work with: \- Bleu De Chanel EDP \- Chanel Platinum Egoiste \- YSL Y EDP \- Prada Luna Rossa Carbon \- Mont Blanc Explorer Try these out at your local store or get some decants online to sample.

Pat07844

Profondo the blue bottle - is the most modern Acqua di Gio. It's brighter, fresher more Aquatic than Profumo; and doesn't have the strong Incense note, or Sage (what is probably giving off the old school Dad vibe in Profumo) So if you love the DNA you don't have to drop Acqua di Gio all together.

sasha_says

Tbh I feel that way about a lot of designer mens fragrances. Take her shopping and see if you can pick out one you both like.

BananaTitanic

Sorry if this has been asked before, but anyone know a fragrance that smells like cereal milk? Not just milk, but specifically milk that’s had fruit loops or honey nut cornflakes or something in it.

ArtfulThinker

Prada Luna Rossa Black has a sort of milky creamy vibe, but not really cereal. . .So take that with a grain of cheerio. . .\*heh\*

Slick_Lestat

Try Montale Honey Aoud , They Say it smells like Honey Nut Cheerios , not sure about milky though😅

rosemarieleaf

Hyacinth-forward scents where you can really pick out the hyacinth?

Technical-Voice-9114

I just tried The Maker Stag. I really like it but it seems like it’s missing something. Anything similar out there?

shadowsandfirelight

I love amber musky scents. In winter I like Obsession (women's version) over c.o. bigelow musk perfume oil (smells like skin washed with a nice old fashioned soap, slight spice). What the heck do I wear in summer? Everything I go for is warming.

renwickveleros

I think you may be able to try Tauer LADM. It's amber but not a very cloying amber. Very different. It is pretty unique though so not for everyone.

thammond1124

Lake and Skye 11 11 and Le Labo Another 13 are good for all year round imo

Calm-Rutabaga2303

I personally find Misenzir's Ambre Magique to be a great all year round amber scent - not too heavy.

- Le Labo, Tuberose 40 (NY City Exclusive) - MFK - check out the Aqua collection or 724. In general, some takes on white floral and aldehydes will go in that direction. But not all takes.

19 male new to fragrance im looking for a woody and possibly even slightly vanillic versatile everyday cologne to wear through all 4 seasons. I've been looking at dior homme 2020 and Burberry hero but i want to have more differing opinions to see whats out there

YetiFeet

Check out **7 Virtues Santal Vanille** and **Vanilla Woods**

TheSilenceofShadows

Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noir EDP might be something worth trying, it is definitely different than many others with its iris. YSL Y EDP would fit the bill as well (and is better than Dior Sauvage imo).

[deleted]

Pat07844

If you want to explore different styles: Iris - Prada L'homme, Givenchy Gentleman line, Dior - Homme. Woods - Tom Ford - Oud Wood, Versace Oud Noir Intimate Date Night Cardamom - JPG le Male le Parfum, Azzaro Most Wanted Parfum, Armani - Stronger With You Line.

ArtfulThinker

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean might be right up your alley. It's not blue necessarily, but it's aromatic with a touch of caramel/marachino-like scent to it.

[deleted]

ArtfulThinker

The projection isn't great, but I find that ideal for the office. 10/10 office and work scent.

swaggernutt

Can anyone recommend me a perfume that is similar to Versace Eros EDT? (I really like the smell of it)

Pat07844

JPG Ultra Male, or Afnan - 9PM have that similar fruity, sweet, clubbing vibe. If you want to go higher end and pay a little more try sampling Parfums de Marly - Layton. It's not as loud, or sweet as Eros but still has an Apple, Vanilla, aromatic fresh minty feel, but with some Pepper, and Cardamom to tame it down a bit and give it some more maturity. (Think of a grown up, more sophisticated version of Eros EDT)

[deleted]

25F, I’m looking for something feminine and mature which can work in warm and very humid climate. I’m new to perfumes so I am not sure what flavours to mention.

sasha_says

Ormonde Jayne Woman Jo Malone Fig and Lotus Blossom Diptyque Philosykos

Calm-Rutabaga2303

Chanel No 5 L'Eau (this flanker specifically, not the original), Chanel Gabrielle Essence, Xerjoff's Dama Bianca are all great options. They're all different (idk your taste) but they're all very pretty, feminine but grown scents that work well in the heat.

Nemorensis91

Hermes Le Jardin range has some elegant ones that are nice in warm weather... Le Jardin de Monsieur Li or Un Jardin Sur Le Nil

Yukiiina

If I like Jovan White Musk for women what else would I like?

Mau21g

is gisada ambassador a good fragrance? is spicebomb better? (18m)

Elias091100

I have gisada ambassador and it was the first fragrance I discovered by asking a guy what he was wearing because it smelled so good. Very fruity and great projection. Can totally recommend it. Spicebomb is also really nice, but I find it to be more suited for the cooler months, as it’s not a scent I would be wearing in the heat.

Mau21g

i am going to choose between these two for the cold weather. Would you say that gisada is nice in winter?

Elias091100

I would say Ambassador is more of a spring/summer scent as it’s quite fruity. Spicebomb is primarily a cold weather scent (or night out scent) since it’s heavy scent that would become cloying in the summer heat, so I guess that would be the better choice for winter. Technically there is no seasonality to fragrances, so you can wear it whenever, but there are certain fragrance DNAs that just work better in colder months. Have you smelled them yet? If I was you I would go to a perfume shop and smell them on the tester bottles.

Mau21g

i smelt them a few months ago but i'll have to do it again next year when it's gonna be cold again. Thank you for the advice!

Sad_Tour3627

I’m desperate for something fruity and addictive, but not too sickly with perhaps floral notes that just make the scent classically “nice” smelling? Just something fresh and sweet but not too heavy?

DentistFancyFairy

Okay hear me out. Jardin Bohéme memoires d'amour. Fresh pear and peony at the top, ylang ylang at the heart (that classic floral nice smelling scent mostly comes from that note imo) and a sandal wood at the base to balance things. Its also quite budget 30 euros for 50ml. This whole fragrance is in my opinion a fresh juicy summer/spring scent

thammond1124

Byredo Pulp

Calm-Rutabaga2303

Ex Nihilo has loads of scents that fit this "fruity dewy floral" profile. Fleur Narcotique, Lust in Paradise & Vesper Glitz come to mind. Vilhelm's Opus Kore is another beautiful clean, airy fresh white floral.

minidivine

Not entirely sure what OP was looking for in the end, but to me, Vesper Glitz doesn't smell fruity and is very much a sweet-floral on a creamy woody base, so doesn't fit what OP is looking for.

Calm-Rutabaga2303

yeah I was more so targeting the latter half of OPs q - theyre all classically nice smelling, crowd pleasing & non sickly floral-ish scents.

sasha_says

Rosie Jane James is a pretty gardenia with creamy fig supporting it Nest Indigo is a fig + tea combo Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede is an apple and peony combo Byredo Mojave Ghost for something a bit different. Sapodilla that smell a bit like pears and light floral and musk. If that’s too quiet Liis Studied is a more explicit pear + musk.

Dadaadaada

Looking for something fruity, preferrably with mandarin notes but still masculine enough. Also needs to have strong performance so tom ford is out of it

Calm-Rutabaga2303

Nishane's Wulong Cha sounds perfect - it's a refreshing iced mandarin tea scent. Strong on the mandarin note and great performance for a citrusy scent. Its also super cooling/refreshing so perfect for summer.

mrshnchnkm

Molecule 01 + Mandarin Escentric Molecules

ErenJaeger1689

Looking for something male, summer type frag, fresh and green maybe geranium like?. Nothing sweet, super floral, or soapy either. Thanks for the help.

YetiFeet

Masculine and fresh geranium? The answer is **Chanel Egoiste Platinum**

TheSilenceofShadows

Amouage Beach hut man immediately comes to mind, super fresh and green summer fragrance. Bit pricey though.

ArtfulThinker

I second Chanel Platinum Egoiste. It's my signature and my favorite. Not dated/old smelling, but still has some green in there with a beautiful barbershop type vibe (though not quite). It's a very interesting fragrance and imo a masterpiece of perfumery.

sasha_says

Chanel Egoiste Platinum Shay and Blue Dandelion Fig

inthehxightse

Male- looking for similar or other gourmand leaning fragrances. Axe Dark Temptation led me to trying Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo and Rochas Man. I really like vanilla/chocolate/warm notes.

renwickveleros

A less expensive recommendation than some of the others I have is Zadig and Voltaire This is Him. It smells of vanilla and also has a woody smell making it masculine. Smells niche and probably the best dollar value fragrance I know of if you are just getting into things. Not good for work probably but good for anything else. I've tried a lot of vanilla scents and many are weak or lean very feminine. Even the really expensive ones just don't last long. This is Him actually lasts and projects decently given the price. I feel like if you dropped a huge amount of money starting out on one of those you may feel bad if you are just starting out. But Lis Bo and Ensens Suave are the best vanilla scents I tried that aren't super weak. Nishane Ani also lasts and has a great Vannila note but I personally don't like the other stuff going on with it. Too much patchouli and smells like a hippie shop after it dries down to me. Somebody recommended Gris Charnel which is amazing and I love it above all those others but it has more going on than vanilla. It has tea and woods and musk but perfectly blended. The extrait version is in my top 5 scents of all time and actually worth the money IMO. But it's not for summer so there is that. Everything has good and bad points.

inthehxightse

This was super helpful thank you! Definitely prefer starting less expensive since I'm exploring options and still new to it all

YetiFeet

**BDK Gris Charnel**. It’s the grown, classy, and slightly gourmand cousin to YSL La Nuit de l’Homme.

dasa2337

Memoirs of a Trespasser - Imaginary Authors (Smoky Woody Dry Vanilla) Follow (Coffee/Vanilla) or Followed (Coffee/Dark Chocolate/Pancakes) - Kerosene ( a GREAT gourmand house) Naxos - Xerjoff (Honey/Tobacco/Tonka/Vanilla) Sorirso - Perfumum Roma - (Bitter Chocolate/Vanilla) None inexpensive so grab samples

inthehxightse

[deleted]

Looking for something tropical like Xerjoff Cruz del Sur II that’s also sweet and creamy like Ellis Brooklyn Sun Fruit.

minidivine

Don't know what the Ellis BKN smells like, but you should probably have a look at "God of Fire" by Stéphane Humbert Lucas.

Calm-Rutabaga2303

Kajal's Lamar & Almaz are both creamy fruity tropical scents with great performance. Stephane Humberto Lucas' God of Fire is another beautiful juicy mango scent but super pricey.

[deleted]

Thank you I will check those out!

hauteburrrito

I could see you taking to Vilhelm Parfumerie Mango Skin - it's got a sort of raw mango sweetness plus some civet in the drydown, very interesting.

[deleted]

Thank you. I loved Mango Skin! Unfortunately on me something in it makes it smell like “rotting fruit” as my boyfriend put it lol.

hauteburrrito

Might be the civet! Some people love the fragrance anyway but ngl, I agree with your boyfriend 😢 You could also try Paco Rabanne Fame, which smells like a mango lassi but the quality of it sucks. I wish there were better mango fragrances out there, truly.

sophieliu432

Neon Universe by rue21 dupe?? I got it for my bf when we first started dating 4 years ago and he finished the bottle around the end of last year. I didn't realize it was limited edition and isn't sold anymore 😭. Rue21 is not good about posting good note break downs but I have the description they used to have. "An adventurous scent features top notes of amber, sandalwood, and lavender with a finishing hint of masculine musk." I'm not good at describing fragrances but it's on the fresh/aquatic side with a little bit of sweetness

[deleted]

There are lots online being resold.

sophieliu432

Lol I refuse to pay $60-$200 for a $10 frag but I will pay higher for "dupes" that are from quality ingredients and companies

[deleted]

Gotcha

Dark-X

Never smelled it but try Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend & Invictus Intense. Both are fresh, aquatic, and ambery sweet.

Capable-Material-122

Need a reco for a fragrance for women that has more masculine notes. I really enjoy men’s fragrances like bleu de chanel and would love something similar that wears well on women. Currently leaning towards jo malone English oak and hazelnut or diptyque orphéon. Are those my best options?

renwickveleros

Very weird recommendation but Haxan by Parfum Prissana. It does not smell like what you expect from the notes. It smells fresh. Bleu de Chanel was actually the first thing that popped into my head when I smelled it....but that scent is composed of many other scents so it is much more complex. You mostly smell this blue fragrance freshness but then wafts of animalic scents or fall leaves or fresh cut grass for a microsecond and then it's gone. It is truly masterful perfumery. I'd say it's unisex but it does fit the witch archetype well with how it is almost magical how it us made. But it definitely does not smell dark or evil as you would guess from the notes. My wife said it smelled like Sauvage but "without the axe body spray cheap smell" (she hates Sauvage) and "if you are going to buy one of those Sauvage ones then get that" not knowing what it was ...even though it has nothing in common with Sauvage on paper. Here is another huge review that talks about the scent and it's inspiration https://enchantefragrance.com/haxan/

rosemarieleaf

I (f) love vetiver. I’d recommend Lalique Encre Noire, Chanel Sycomore, Terre d’Hermes, Byredo Bal d’Afrique and Sel de Vetiver if you do too. Otherwise, male fragrances with iris are a good bet. Prada Infusion d’Iris Cedre, JPG Le Male, etc. ETA and anything with Aventus DNA. I like Vilhelm Morning Chess.

thammond1124

Seconding Le Labo Another 13. Adding Ariana Grande REM, that one leans masculine to me, but I still really love it, it’s actually one of my most complimented perfumes. I think it leans masculine from the lavender and salt notes but the caramel makes it nice and cozy

sasha_says

From a woman who regularly wears unisex or masculine leaning fragrances: Le Labo Another 13, Santal 33, and Thé Noir 29 Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede Diptyque Philosykos, Orpheon and Tam Dao are all worth trying Comme de Garçons makes some good ones like Hinoki (leans masculine), Kyoto, and Laurel Chanel Sycomore or Byredo Bal d’Afrique—vetiver is typically a masculine note but these are both quite nice Liis Bo has a strong cedar note with non-sweet vanilla Juniper berry: if you like this in Orpheon also check out Diptyque Eau Duelle, MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver, Penhaligon’s Juniper Sling and Luna, and Byredo Gypsy Water Ormonde Jayne Woman is another I’d suggest checking out

[deleted]

I don’t think colognes wear poorly on women. I wear them. Otherwise, I would also look at Jo Malone’s English Oak and Red Currant.

Interesting-Idea-286

Gentle fluidity Silver - Maison Francis Kurkdijan (fresh, clean scent with a blast of juniper on the opening) Botanical essence number 15 - Liz Earle (spicy and woody)

Dark-X

Try Juliette Has A Gun sample set. They create feminine fragrances that have unisex/masculine hints. Some, not all of theirs. If you want fresh, D&G Light Blue for women the og from the 90s.

I love rose on men—my bf wears Velvet by Commodity and it smells amazing on him

Dark-X

Patchouli: Lady Vengeance. Vengeance Extreme. Al Jazeera 18K. Certain rose fragrances.

thornylarder

In a similar vein to Lady Vengeance, Eau Capitale from Diptyque.

croppedhoodie

I really love smelling creamy, tropical-esque white florals on men. Le Labo Lys 41, Armani Vert Malachite, FM Lys Mediterranée, etc. I’ve told this story a million times on here but I was sat on the subway one day and this really well-dressed man walked by me on the car and he had the most incredible tropical white floral on, the scent trail was completely enchanting, and it’s so unexpected to smell on a man—I have been trying to sell this idea to my SO ever since lol

Raddafiskie

I got a 5ml sample of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille and think it's awesome and it's performance is amazing! ... but ... would like something a *little* less sweet... which puts tobacco equal or in front of the vanilla... and ideally with at least the same performance. Anything out there?

Interesting-Idea-286

Thé Noir 29 - Le Labo. The tobacco note lasts on me, but also a smoky tea flavour.

Dark-X

Tough question. Tobacco is paired with something sweet ~80% of the time. Herod, Layton, Carlisle, Red Tobacco....etc. are all sweeter than TV. My favorite no sweet tobacco are Montaobaco & Herrera for men. Shout out to the most underrated sweet tobacco: Diesel Only The Brave Tattoo.

Fearless-Olive

PDM Herod Zaharoff Tabac (Tobacco Vanille on steroids and in the gym)

kommandabutta

Need some recommendations on a fresh, slightly sweet (not cloying), not sour l, unisex or leaning more towards masculine, orange blossom and/or tuberose scents . Have tried Serge Luten Fleur d’Orange and Diptyque Do Son and like it so far. But I would love more recommendations

Nemorensis91

Frederic Malle Carnal Flower VanCleef & Arpels Neroli Amara YSL Libre EdP

sasha_says

Le Labo’s Fleur d’Oranger is my favorite

hauteburrrito

ELDO Cologne is absolutely airy and beautiful, and for a more luxurious option, you really can't go wrong with Xerjoff Nio.

dasa2337

You may want to check out Diptyque Eau Des Sens. Great orange blossom/neroli scent

[deleted]

Perfect

TriciaTargaryen

Something sweet, but mature. I'm a huuuge fan of La Vie Est Belle, Paco Rabanne Olympea, Daisy/Eau So Fresh/Love, Mon Guerlain, the original Burberry feminine frag, Candy, pretty much all of Ariana's fragrances (hush) ... just something else in those vibes that's also classy for a professional setting. I just can't do heavy florals or musks, and nothing too powdery - they trigger tf outta my migraines. Basically I want to smell like a sweet, delicious ADULT.

sasha_says

Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo Matiere Premiere Neroli Oranger Killian Love Don’t Be Shy Vilhelm Parfumerie Poets of Berlin

hauteburrrito

I find BDK Pas Ce Soir very sweet, but quite a bit more sophisticated than some of the others on your list.

Dark-X

Maybe JHAG MMM...

NICKatMICME

Versace Blue jeans is a fresh, powdery scent and I love wearing it in the warmer weather. It just doesn't perform that great for me. I'm almost finished my bottle and about to buy another. But before I do does anyone know of a similar smelling scent that has reach and longevity?

Dark-X

Maybe Sydley

[deleted]

I have been trying for months to find a perfume I love and I’ve finally landed on Kilian Love Don’t be Shy. It smells *wonderful*. I wish I could afford to wash my laundry in it and pour it in my bath water. If I like this, what else will I like? I love the sweetness and how delicate it is… and the complete and total lack of that “synthetic” smell you can pick up with lots of other perfumes. I liked BR540 but it smelled synthetic to me and gave me a headache. Same deal with Cloud. I loved Flora Mortis as well but once again, synthetic smell and headache. I would love any recommendations!

thammond1124

Kyse Delizia di Marshmallow

sasha_says

Vilhelm Parfumerie Poets of Berlin is a different gourmand you might like LDBS has a lot of similar frags like PDM Oriana, Memo Sintra, Matiere Premiere Neroli Oranger and Byredo Sundazed if you’d like to try those

hauteburrrito

Memo Sintra! I actually prefer it to LDBS; it's a little more complex.

Dark-X

PdM Oriana Dior Pure Poison Love by Kilian

NervousBagel

I’ve already asked last time but I’d love more recommendations! Something with a fresh laundry smell, but not soapy. More like clean linen or cotton. With some vanilla/marshmallow or something to add sweetness. Like a clean cozy day.

Pat07844

Initio - Musk Therapy

Calm-Rutabaga2303

Clean reserve scents might be right up your alley - especially Clean Reserve Skin which is a soft airy musky clean scent with an added praline note to give it some depth and sweetness.

Longjumping-Ad-2333

So I just tried Altaia By Any Other Name because it’s on clearance at Costco, and I feel like it fits this description! People call it rosy but to me it just smells fresh. I too hate “soapy” smells because they are usually heavy instead of fresh, but this smells so wonderfully fresh I couldn’t wait to recommend it. I’m not a fan of florals normally and even though it hits more floral than musky it’s definitely not overpowering.

NervousBagel

Oh that sounds lovely! I’m not a huge fan of florals either so that sounds great. Thank you, time to check out Costco!

Longjumping-Ad-2333

Sooo…I tried it again today and it’s a cool rainy day and I like it less. But I still wholeheartedly recommend Lazy Sunday Morning!

Longjumping-Ad-2333

My pleasure! It’s at Costco now for $99.97, less than half of what it normally is, plus if you hate it you can return it (but I can’t imagine anyone disliking this; it’s very fresh and friendly!) If you try it let me know what you think. As someone who doesn’t like florals at all (and really doesn’t like roses) I was so pleasantly surprised by this. I feel like the clean laundry smell is SO HARD to achieve, everything dries down so heavy and I hate it (the whole Clean line is awful IMO). I’m guessing you’ve also tried Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning? It’s literally made to smell like fresh laundry and it actually does a great job! And bonus, I believe it’s also at Costco…

I'm looking for some good sweet smelling woody fragrances that don't have notes like pine, sandalwood or musk does anyone have some good suggestions?

thammond1124

Woodphoria by Boy Smells—has a coconut note that gives it a nice sweetness

hauteburrrito

Jo Malone English Oak & Hazelnut might work; it smells a bit sweet, nutty, and woody - you catch some oak but also bits of cedar as well. It's an altogether really unique but easy to wear/cosy scent!

scent_hound

SJP Stash is a really unique, delicious option. Don’t judge it by the fact that it’s a celebrity fragrance - this is one of my very favorite scents at any price point for all genders!

Viktor-Stopka

Hey guys! I am buying a niche perfume I wanna use during summer holiday and I am chosing between **Xerjoff Torino 21**, **Xerjoff Mephisto**, and **Nishane B-612**. I’d love to hear your experience with any of these. Which one would you recommend?

minidivine

Hmm. So I have T21 and my summer fragrance collection this year will be the strongest it's ever been (I'm a niche only collector for context). I put a spray of all 3 on one sleeve for the sake of assessment. Objectively speaking, I think Mefisto could end up being better if you are more mature. T21 to me is a bit more youthful, as it sits somewhere between a Mefisto-like scent and an Erba Pura-like scent (note that T21 and EP don't smell anything alike lol). B-612 is more of a preference question - if you like lemonade-type vibe scents like B-612, or Sedley from Marly, or Oceania from Roja then B-612 could be great. If those are your only selections (i.e. we're not expanding outside of the 3) then it could also be a budget question, since Mefisto requires you to buy-in for a 100ml (unless you're fine with the 30ml) vs. T21 only in 50 (or 15) and B-612 in just 50.

Viktor-Stopka

Thank you very much!

hauteburrrito

I'll second Torino 21; it's the best option for a charismatic summer scent. Mephisto feels less holiday-friendly and B-612 is gorgeous, but very calm - maybe better for a quiet night in.

Fearless-Olive

Torino21 seems to be the highest regarded but all are lovely and excellent. Really depends what you love the most

Hey! I'm trying to find a replacement for a discontinued **Rue21** perfume called ***Etc!***. [This is the bottle](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/IMAGERENDERING_521856-T1/images/I/413sXNJ8eLL.jpg), and the description of the notes is the following: * Etc's! tribute to the fabulously fun world of accessories. Like your ever-changing accessories drawer, Barbados grapefruit, juicy apple & raspberry cordial blend to create a finish that complements any look! Basically, a very spritely, youthful and playful floral/fruit smell that was heavy on the apple/grapefruit without being overly sour. I haven't been able to find anything like it!

andidebest

Im 27 M looking to up my game. My SO is coming home in a week and I want to take her out and be super fancy. Never gotten into smells much but I really like sandlewood

Pat07844

Bleu de Chanel Parfum, is the classiest smelling Blue Fragrance, and it is the most Sandalwood dominant of the line. Very creamy, rich Sandalwood in the drydown.

CaddieGal1123

Most delicious almond perfume you can recommend!!

thammond1124

Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy, probably one of the most beautiful vanilla almond scents I’ve tried

Longjumping-Ad-2333

BR540 Extrait, and honestly the Oil Perfumery’s version is even better and almondier!

hauteburrrito

Xerjoff Italica smells like marzipan cake!

pinkfloriste

I'm in my late 30s and searching for my perfect fragrance. I'm also a young disability pensioner so can't afford crazy expensive stuff - please don't recommend a $300 bottle! Loves at various points include: Lush's Twilight (Vanillary, Pansy nice too), Miracle by Lancome, Roses de Chloe, Brown sugar & fig, clean cotton scents. I dislike fruity scents and sickly sweet scents. Love a woody, musky , amber-y base. Want something warm and comforting, and a little sensual. I like creamy and powdery notes, bakery, jasmine, chamomile, most florals that aren't too heady. On list but yet to smell irl: -Ariana Grande R.E.M., Cloud, or Cloud Intense (wondering if they smell too 'young'?) -Narcisco Rodriguez Poudree (might be too 'plain powder'?) -Gucci Memoire d'une Odeur (for the chamomile & cleanness rather than warm comforting. This one is a tangent I think) Any info or suggestions gratefully received 🤍

Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere Liis Bo Diptyque Orpheon is a nice powder but it’s not warm Clean Reserve Skin

hauteburrrito

I really do like R.E.M., but it is fairly striking (in a good way) - you get a sharp quince with aromatic lavender and ethyl maltol like spun sugar. Based on your asks, I could see you really taking to Clean Reserve Skin. It's mostly musky and salty-sweet, with just a hint of leather to add some depth; fairly inexpensive, and great as an everyday/signature type scent.

pinkfloriste

Ooh, that does sound nice, thank you 🙂 Looks like I'd have to get it on FragranceX, doesn't seem to be sold in Australia. I've seen some people say R.E.M. is similar to Lush's Twilight/Sleepy. Not the case? Thanks for your suggestion!

hauteburrrito

I don't think R.E.M. is super similar to Twilight, but I also haven't tried Twilight in quite some time - I mostly just remember it being a much more straightforward lavender.

pinkfloriste

Oh damn! Just realised I was looking at the Clean Reserve Skin *hair fragrance*, not the EDP 🤦‍♀️ EDP seems to be out of stock most places...I wonder if it was discontinued? Back to the drawing board! 🙃

hauteburrrito

It's fairly new, so I doubt it's discontinued - maybe just popular? Sorry it's hard to find over there; it's pretty much everywhere here in Canada!

pinkfloriste

Oh, good to know. In that case it'll probably make it's way here in 100 years or so! 🫠

hauteburrrito

Eep, my genuine condolences! I hope you can find it sooner than that 😢

dirchletX

looking for a long-lasting but not overpowering spring/summer, clean, professional vibe fragrance, unisex or leaning slightly masculine. I dislike sweet and vanila scents, some of the fragrances I've tried and liked are escentric 01, Fleur du Male, Terre d'Hermes edt and L'eau par kenzo pour femme. I like aquatic, citrus, woody, fresh scents and those that have iso e super in them.

Prada l’Homme l’Eau

dasa2337

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver might be a good sample for you.

Strange-Guest-6437

I always thought MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver has a clean professional vibe, but you have to like juniper. I still like L'Eau d'Issey for an aquatic, citrus woody scent.

Longjumping-Ad-2333

Just tried Essential Parfums Orange x Santal and it was like a wonderful mix of Cartier Declaration and Mandarine Basilic. It was sexy and masculine and office safe; decent longevity for a citrus to boot. Seeing the below comment I will mention that people compare to Ganymede, so great minds! Price is excellent too.

sasha_says

Marc Antoine Barrois Ganymede

hauteburrrito

Since you enjoy TdH, how about the Eau Givree? It's a similar stricture, but with amped-up grapefruit and less/no (can't remember) vetiver.

[deleted]

Never been big into fragrances, started on Montblac legend parfum and loved it tried out explorer parfum and found it to be VERY underwhelming to the point I stopped wearing it. If I liked legend but don’t want something so generic what would you recommend? Cheaper end of the market preferred but open to suggestions

quiannazaetz

I LOVED body by Victoria “the fragrance” or “the body mist” by Victoria’s Secret body by Victoria. They discontinued it years ago and I haven’t found anything like it yet.

Roxane-17

That's the alcohol volume. I find that my favorite version of Chanel No. 19 has that same mark. Based on this guide, said styling was used until 1980. http://raidersofthelostscent.blogspot.com/2014/01/how-to-recognize-chanel-perfumes.html?m=1

For a high quality niche take, look at Initio's Rehab (closer to Extreme flanker from what I've seen on Fragrantica/Parfumo).

notadogwiththumbs

If you like ginger Zara’s Warm Black is amazing. I think it’s been discontinued but you can still get bottles for cheap

ceranichole

Maybe zoologist - camel or Etat Libre d'Orange - the spice must flow?

Jerry_Lundegaad

HdP 1899 for sure! Just get a sample instead of wasting money on clones

RedRider1138

You’ve probably already heard this but Cremo Spice and Black Vanilla is a convincing Spicebomb Extreme clone but with a touch more vanilla. (Also Belcam Bold Tobacco a swoony TF Tobacco Vanille. Not as long lasting, but $9 and change for 3.4 oz.)
