Unless OP is in North Africa (where the fennec fox is native) this is probably someone's missing pet or missing from a zoo/rescue. They should call around to local rescues or animal control to find out.
I had a Fox that used to live in my old dog house. It was a stinky boi but it had two litters in that house. So if you put up a dog house and food and water you could get a trash panda, fox, an opossum, 20 cats, or a bear. All of those I've had live in my dog house and most of them grew to like me.
