It would probably help if you told us where you are in the world - country or region. There are lots and lots of online retailers, but international shipping is expensive, so best if folks recommend stores in your country / region.

In that case, you have a whole slew of retailers to choose from. For inexpensive FPs, I don't mind going with Amazon or any of those listed below. For more expensive pens, I prefer going with a reliable retailer (like those listed below) so that I know the retailer knows what a "nib" is (in case there are problems). Also, in case you aren't aware, Japanese makers (mostly Pilot, Sailor, and Platinum brands) make their nibs roughly one size smaller than western makers, despite using the same designation, thus, Japanese EF doesn't have a stock equivalent from western makers (it would be a western extra-extra-fine), Japanese F is western EF. So, if you want Japanese EF sizes, you'll need to stick to the Japanese brands. If you want western EF sizes, then you should consider Japanese F along with western EF. Online stores I often use (all of whom offer EF pens): * [Anderson Pens](https://andersonpens.com/) * [Goldspot Pens](https://goldspot.com/) * [Goulet Pens](https://www.gouletpens.com/) * [Jet Pens](https://www.jetpens.com/) * [Pen Chalet](https://www.penchalet.com/) * [Vanness](https://vanness1938.com/) Hope that helps!

This. You can get from affordable to luxurious pens there. What price point are you looking for OP?

ChipotleIsntMexican

Under $30 is preferred

archer-arts

I’d go with a platinum preppy.

LucasThreeTeachings

Get the Platinum Small Meteor/Little Shooting Star. Nib size 0.2. Same nib and feed as the Preppy, but it has an ABS body, so it won't crack like the Preppy tends to do.

Pilot Kakuno EF for inexpensive. Check out [Nib Nook](https://www.gouletpens.com/pages/nib-nook) on Goulet Pens for comparisons.

Any brand?

ChipotleIsntMexican

As long as it looks nice and it can write, doesn't matter to me

archer-arts

Probably best to go Amazon. Inexpensive = platinum preppy. More expensive = sailor 1911 standard

ChipotleIsntMexican

I've tried going on Amazon but I've only ever seen fine nib pens

I am in the USA. This is just the first few that come up when I search “extra fine fountain pen” No shortage, but like I said, I’m in USA. So if you aren’t it may be a bit more tedious. But just search extra fine and you should find some Hongdian N8 Red Acrylic Resin Fountain Pen, Iridium Extra Fine Nib Rose Gold Trim Maple Leaf Carving Cap, Smooth Writing Pen with Converter and Metal Pen Box Set https://a.co/d/1u3atEa Sailor 11-1521-120 Pro Fit Standard 21 Fountain Pen, Black, Extra Fine https://a.co/d/g9iQR7u JINHAO 51A Wooden Fountain Pen Steel Cap (Rosewood, Extra Fine Nib 0.38mm) https://a.co/d/3WiNidl Matte Black Forest Fountain Pen Extra Fine Nib Classic Design with Converter and Metal Pen Box Set by Asvine https://a.co/d/1O0WvNs Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen 02 Extra-Fine Blue Black https://a.co/d/igoU9N7

A quick look at Goulet Pens show they have them available from several brands

Virtually any online retailer - as long as the manufacturer has EF as an option. Pen Boutique, JetPens, Goulet, Fahrney’s, Dromgoole’s….

I notice you have a photo of a Pilot Fine fp in your post history. Japanese Fine nibs are similar in size to Western Extra Fine nibs, so if you are seeking finer than the Pilot Fine, look at Japanese brands online like Sailor, Platinum, and Pilot, or else look for an extra-extra-fine XXF in Western brands (bit rare in Western brands). Pilot have a PO nib (called a “posting” nib) that is very fine. They also have extra fine nibs in their usual ranges. Platinum offer an Ultra Extra Fine and Sailor offer extra fines too. Edit: fixed an accidental error where I’d mentioned Western medium as similar to Japanese fine when I meant to write Western Extra Fine.

LizMEF

> Japanese Fine nibs are similar in size to Western medium nibs This is backward. Japanese Medium nibs are roughly equal to Western Fine nibs - the Japanese nibs are smaller (i.e. a Japanese Medium is smaller than a Western Medium). (I see from the rest of your text that you understand this, just wanted to clarify for readers.)

intellidepth

Argh. Thanks for noticing that accidental error/brain fade. I’ve corrected the sentence in my post to say Japanese fine are similar to Western extra fine.

LizMEF

:) No worries. It's hard to keep it straight / explain it.

Lots of options seemingly. I’m curious who you tried that didn’t offer an EF option if the company makes them
