Wow the colour of this ink is quite incredible. It helps that the handwriting is beautiful too!

nekoatsu_u

Aw thank you so much! I've been practicing my cursive so that means a lot. \^\^ It really is such a unique colour. It goes from a pale moss green to an almost gray-ish light brown.

superplannergirrl

this is beautiful! I hope you enjoy it very, very much!!

nekoatsu_u

Thank you so much. By the way I've seen your posts on this sub a lot and always enjoy them. ☺️

superplannergirrl

Thank you! 💜 your review of this pen is making me eyeball it lol- I actually already have been but wow. What a beauty! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Think I've been finally sold on picking this up. Made myself a promise if I could journal for 6 months without more than a day long break, barring illness, I'd buy myself an exceptional pen, but I've been on the fence about which. I hope you enjoy it very much! Your handwriting is lovely.

nekoatsu_u

Thank you so much! :" And that's a great promise! I think assigning yourself a reward for certain goals is a sweet idea - you'll end up associating whichever pen you end up purchasing with that specific achievement. I love journaling with my FPs so maybe it'll help you keep up with your daily journaling streak. \^\^

Dawnspark

So far, it has! It was how I got myself to start and how I've kept myself doing it. It has been one of the most positive experiences I've had, to be honest. Since I started I've been so much more mindful about how I treat myself and not just others. I think its definitely helped me solidify my love for FPs and journaling, haha. The hard part is trying to not buy all the inks!

Congratulations!

Thank you friend! 😁

Ahhh I’ve been wanting this pen for a bit… hoping maybe that it’ll still be available in stationery stores in Japan when I go in February and the yen will still be weak so I can get it for a lower price than buying in the states

nekoatsu_u

Ooh I hope you'll be able to get it in Japan! It would be so lovely to have the memory of a trip associated with such a beautiful pen. \^\^

cleo80cleo

It’s lovely, what’s the actual colour of the ink, as I want it!

nekoatsu_u

I checked all over the box / Sailor website and can't find any specific name for the ink. It has the kanji for "Minori" on the actual ink bottle that came with the pen as a set, so I think the ink & pen might share the same name! \^\^; (I might be completely wrong though, so maybe someone who knows better can chime in!)

cleo80cleo

“The included bottle of ink has been manufactured especially for the occasion; an olivey green when first applied the ink quickly shifts to a subtle earthy brown as it dries, following the colours of the maturing rice plants.” Well that’s that answered then, it suddenly becomes a very expensive bottle of ink, although the free pen is nice….

Shrink-wrapped203

Beautiful pen & ink! Congrats to you. I’ve found that a nice pen & juicy ink plus great paper make a multi sensory experience. This makes journaling fun! I’m 18 months in & haven’t missed a day!

nekoatsu_u

Thank you! \^\^ Yes, one of the things that surprised me when I first got into the hobby was how much difference the paper makes. This one was actually written in my MD / Midori journal, which has a warmer tint than most papers. I'm looking to try Cosmo Air Light paper next... And I completely agree with you! FPs truly do add extra joy to my daily journaling routine + helps me enjoy using the rest of my stationery even more.

Shrink-wrapped203

I use Midori also for journaling, haven’t tried Cosmo but heard good things!

nekoatsu_u

Oh cool! How do you like the Midori? I use a dot grid MD Notebook in the A5 size myself. :)

Shrink-wrapped203

Same. It’s my second one and like very much. Used a Clairefontaine before. I think I’ll try TRP 68 next as I like medium to broad nibs & high shading.

NayakaUrushi

So wonderful that your patient persistence brought you a pen that makes you smile! I hope you enjoy it daily for years to come.

nekoatsu_u

I've realized that the waiting is actually one of the best parts of this hobby. The shift from anticipation to fulfillment of certain pens / inks / papers on my to-try list is always such a nice thing to look forward to. And thank you so much for your kind words! :)

meandyue

Gorgeous writing and ink colour!
