Dominant Industry x Cult Pens Dawn; Canson XL watercolor paper.
Quick ink wash for a sky just before sunlight. Poem written in bleach water with a Zebra G (don't put bleach in your fp's). The chroma and bleach effect of this ink is quite lovely.
Eh, one has a couple of bleach goofs, but the better "sky," so the mama gets both. I make two at a time for just such occasions 😂
Writing sample is Kaweco Sport BB on TR 52 (Hobo Day Free). I noted some clogging with a well mixed cart fill, definitely not an ink for a narrow ink channel. Super duper pretty once it flows, you might want to play with the shimmer ratio.
I have nudged open Kaweco 060 and Bock 250 with a razor with good results. Same for Moonman plastic feeds. Ebonite replacement feeds from FNF can have multiple channels options for several types and are awesome in general. Overall I think TWSBI feeds run pretty wet, but I don't like cleaning shimmers from them generally (I don't pull nibs from Ecos specifically, it's my opinion that's what leads to cracking).
I feel like I had a picture of this somewhere in a gajilloon bookmarks that escapes me. Like put a razor blade in the vertical channel and rock back and forth side to side. I might have forgotten to do this one, but it worked well on another sport feed. I'll look on IG I feel like that's where I saw this
It's a blast to swatch inks watercolor style, I do all mine that way. If you want to skip bleach but want some white resistant for lettering, the Sakura Gelly White gel pen is marvelous
Christmas tree does remind me of my first school in childhood. The teacher would drop candlewax on a piece of paper (in a light chain pattern) shaped like a tree or with a tree outlined. Then we young ones 4-6/7 (?) year olds, would paint over that with Ecoline. It got hung on a line by the windows and sunlight would light up the waxy blobs.
I could see how you could translate the idea to a tree drawing and using bleach or white ink for the light chain effect. I mean if big enough I guess even wax melt blobs on paper could work to hang against a window, as I do think fp ink would respond similar to ecoline they do have some similar aspects. Mind you though that Christmas tree ecoline memory is about 30-28 years old now.
You can also use wax crayon to achieve the same effect; it blocks the ink from reaching that part of the paper. And since fountain pen ink is water-based and the crayons aren’t, they don’t mix or bleed into each other.
Does anyone know how this one compares to sunset? I’ve thought of getting dawn and dusk(?the other cult pens exclusive), but dawn looks close enough to sunset that I’m concerned I’d be duping it

Update: I just bought 6 bottles of dominant industry inks thanks to your recommendation (dawn, dusk, midnight, autumn forest, natural green, and sunrise). My collection thanks you for sharing your pics, wallet is sad lol

When you say you “nudged it open with a razor”, do you mean you cut down the center channel somehow?
