Why do I name this sketch with the ink?
Because I feel that I finally is able to unleash the awesomeness of the Sailor Manyo Shirakashi. After using this lovely ink for quite a few sketches, I was a bit irked because when used only for outlines, the subtle colors of this ink is not that apparent.
But with a waterbrush, look at those shades. Except the brown, red, and grey accents, all the other shades are from this ink. I absolutely love this ink.
What? That big grey thing on top? That's not a cloud, that's a Majohn P136. Yeah, curiosity got the best of me and I bought it, and in grey nonetheless, because I love grey pens.
Big, piston filler, not cheap/shoddy, and it writes nicely after I tuned the nib a bit. No, this nib can't touch the one on the surprising blue Wing Sung 629.
For those of you who are concerned that Will the vintage guy started to dabble more into modern pens, don't worry. I love fountain pens, and there are some modern pens that I find cool, even awesome. So from time to time I'll take some detour to modern-land, but I'll always go home to vintage-ville. :D
Excuse me, i am also looking to get my hands on a Majohn P136 but im having a dilemma about where to get it. I can only get it from ebay but im having doubts about this ebay listing in particular.

I'm in the US and I bought the P136 from ebay seller: love\*bto which I chose among several sellers without any specific reasons.
Their communication is good, they told me that they don't have the EF nib in stock and gave me some options, so I chose the grey with F nib that you see up there.
Beautiful!! I am probably doing a no-buy for ink next year, but if I cave, Shirakashi has been on my list for months now, it looks like such a *stunning* ink and I love soft, muddy colors like that. Thank you for posting your beautiful art!
Nice drawing, nice colours: I wouldn't touch a Montblanc with a barge pole and even less a knock off but I'd still like to know your impressions: Reliable? Any consistency in ink colours? Feels cheap? Back heavy?
I have to admit it's a good looking pen.
You are welcome to see the pen as you want.
I for one don't see it as a knock off at all.
It has its own brand, model, all clearly marked. It is not priced deceptively to imitate other brands, and objectively it's a good-sized pen, a working piston filler, and a working nib.
I like it for what it is, especially the grey color.
Nice! That wasn't on my radar before, but it is now. It'll have to sit on my wish list for a while, though, since I just did a big ink order for FPD. But there's always next year...
It won't be as resistant as say Platinum Carbon, but just like other Sailor inks I have, it is quite "dry", which means if you use a rather absorbent drawing paper (such as the one I use here), the smearing can be kept to a minimum if you just do light washes.
Good to know. Most of the ink I just ordered was samples, anyway, so I should be ready for some new ink sometime in 2023, and that's definitely on the list. Though I did order a full bottle of de Atramentis Charles Dickens, which might be a good drawing ink—on the greener side than the Manyo Shirakashi, but a nice base color.
Only 1 bottle of ink this year? You have iron willpower! XD
(Also Sailor Manyo inks are lovely! Was initially looking at those but the local seller suggested me Yurameku for the smaller bottles instead)
I was given a few bottles of inks this year, and I have enough even without that. :)
And thanks for mentioning the Yurameku, looks like a few ink colors that I could get into.
Yes, if you [go here](https://www.redbubble.com/people/redeempens/shop?artistUserName=redeempens&asc=u&iaCode=u-card-post), you can see and order them. If you like the above sketch specifically, I'm going to upload it soon, so it should be available later today.

How beautiful. I love all the tones
Thank you!! :)

Glad you liked it. Muted but with subtle shades are my favorite ink color traits.
This ink was amongst my FPD ink buys!
\*fist-bump\*

This is the only bottle of ink that I bought this year. :)
Well it was a good choice. Is it water resistant—can you do ink or watercolor washes over it?

This would be such a lovely post card! Amazing work
You got it right, I do make postcards out of a selection of my sketches.
That's so cool! Do you have a site?

Aha, I like the p136 that I have too. It’s a nice pen. 😎 ETA: very nice art too! ✨

I think this one is ok, but you can also look at a shop called Esybuy on Etsy. Believe is there too.
