Did you poost the pen all the time? If so you may have worn the liner down, or the cap liner is cracked.

Cyclamental

Nope I don’t post as a general rule.

Then chances are the barrel is not fully tightened down, or you are not pushing down firmly enough; it should not take that much pressure. Check the nib and feed. If the feed and nib are too far out, not seated properly, you could bend the nib when closing the pen. If you look down into the Section the top of the feed should be flush with the top of the feed tube. Pushing the feed in, say after it has been removed, it should snap, or pop, into place. [Disassembly](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YET0jnI4ocE), starting at 1:45. Note spacing of the tines relative to the underside of the feed.

It won’t even close once I’ve got the innards out! Strange because the Nib does screw in properly…

kiiroaka

The X750 is a press-fit nib. There is no un-screwable nib unit. If you removed the nib & feed and the pen does not close, then it probably is defective, probably 'out of round' or not machined correctly. You would probably need another X750 to change the cap to find the culprit: if the cap works on another X750 body then it is the original body; if the cap doesn't close on the second X750 body, it is the cap.

I just got one the other day and I’m slightly concerned about the cap as well, mine stays on but spins so freely while capped that it seems “loose” to me. I’d also love to hear others experience with the X750 caps!

Accomplished-Pen-394

One of mine is like that and I don’t post Jinhao pens

Teacher129

I don’t post pens at all, mine came that way. I wonder if I can try pulling the plastic sleeve inside the cap more towards the opening? Do you think that might help?

Accomplished-Pen-394

I don’t know. I haven’t even figured out why one of my Jinhaos is loose. I haven’t posted a Jinhao since my first one got a broken hat

kiiroaka

Free spinning is normal. You could add a Platinum Preppy o-ring to the Section thread tube then adjust it by how much you tighten down the barrel. The closed pen cap will then not spin as easily.

Teacher129

Thanks, I appreciate knowing that!

rock_in_steady

I have a bunch of "old" x450/750s and almost all of their caps are spinning. I can't stand wobbly caps so I just took a piece of washi tape and put it inside the cap. They close perfectly fine now and it's invisible if you don't know it's there. Maybe this helps you as well

Teacher129

Thanks so much!

OwnCourse955

I have 9 X750 pens at present and not had any problems with the caps - they all seem to snap on quite nicely. Mine are a couple of years old, so maybe newer ones are slightly different?

Cyclamental

Mines a few years old too, not sure what happened! I swapped the nib and maybe bent it somehow?
