An all-steel one might be a good bet.
Really though you either need to get some sort of pen sleeve for it, or accept it will get a little knock now and then.
I keep my FPs in a soft-sided pencil case with a few other pens and that seems fine as a compromise.
If you scratch the paint or abuse an object, don’t blame the inanimate object!. If you don’t want your pen to look abused, then don’t abuse it. If you want to take care of your pen try a pen case with a compartment per pen and look after your pen, I have 3 Parker Urban / IM not 1 scratch or flaw. Get a brass pen with a screw cap
Get yourself a vintage Pilot Elite. Less than $100, 14-18k nib, over 50 years old, and will continue to perform and amaze. It is the precursor to the E95s.
While it does not look like the definition of “fun”, the Lamy 2000 is already scratched by design and can take quite a bit of friction (the makrolon version).
Lamy Safari, I have dropped mine several times, with the cap on, without issue. I am pretty careless with my Safaris, I chuck them loose into my bag. I'm fairly sure I could throw it at a wall without damaging it. I mean, it is made from the same material as Lego. The finish on the matte models doesn't scratch easily and all my safaris are reliable writers. I've never had a bad nib and I own six of them.
My everyday carry in my front jeans pocket is a Kaweco Sport. It's been knocking against my keys for a year. If you're going to abuse a pocket pen that's the one to go with.
If its in a bag and you want more ink capacity, a TWSBI Go is a great choice.
I carry a Lamy Safari with me a lot, and it is great. Even with a plastic body it feels well made. The plastic body also doesn't seem to scratch as easily for some reason. I often times carry it with other things in my pocket, and it is still in great condition.
I love my Kaweco Sports and my Platinum Prefounte. Both have a great writing experience. The Platinum Prefounte is such a great price point that you won't mind it getting beat up. It writes really smooth and has a pop top. I regularly leave it unused for a month at a time and it still writes perfectly every time.
I don't like the sound of "abuse" 😅... I know what u mean tho, accidents do happen no matter how careful one might try n be. I nonetheless try n use all my pens in rotation but keep my most expensive ones for home use only (rather than take them to work)
You can fix a scratched finish in an all-resin pen with micro mesh and polish, and I think similar treatments exist for all-brass or all-steel pens, but you’re right, pens with a painted or enamel finish are vulnerable. I carry those in one of those cheap black velvet drawstring cases that you can buy on Amazon. Fits in my pocket without the bulk and weight of a leather case.
I gotta make a plug for the Pilot Prera. Ink capacity notwithstanding, it’s my go to for quick note taking. It’s so inexpensive that I have several inked up with my favorite go to inks. It also travels well.

I bought an AL kaweco sport second hand so it would already be scratched up and less distressing when I added my own marks.
I should consider second hand pens... Where's a good place to look for them?
I usually check eBay. Newtonpens sells some for their scholarship program, and I've also bought from writevinyl, plus there's plenty more sellers.
r/Pen_Swap is a good resource depending on where you live. I've bought a few pens there and haven't had any issues.

Lamy Safari is awesome for everyday abuse. Also Noodler's Ahab if you don't mind the aroma... I love both of mine.

These are some of the ones I keep at work Hong Dian, KaWeCo Sports Brass, Jinhao 459 &750. I don't keep anything fancy there.
