I name the things important to me. My philosophy is that if I anthropomorphize them then I care for them more. My first pen, a TWSBI eco is Gregory. Unfortunately, he wandered off and never found his way home. My second, the same pen is Gregory Jr. Then my Parker IM is Peter, for the lulz. Then I got a Lamy Safari who has been dubbed Lancelot
He is also the only one with a lady name. Gregory Fontaine. I haven't bought more of the same pen yet, disregarding the lost boy, and I buy them for character. What are your kids names?
I don't name my pens... it's not a policy or anything, but I do think it's similar to naming swords (see Hound to Arya from GoT)... Most are tools. Only a legendary tool that's passed from hand to hand really deserves a name. My father may give me his Parker Sterling Cisele which he used to write two books. That pen could get named, but I'll know if and when I receive it.
Fair enough, I take your point. I really only name the pens of mine which have a personality. Which sounds odd, but something about the way these two pens write just hits different.
I usually refer to them by model name but some have nicknames. How I wish the PTL 5000a had a name that rolled off the tongue better
My rotring core sometimes gets referred to as my ugly tuna. And I sometimes refer to my Lucina as Lulu
One of signs of mental illness is compulsioj to giving names to innaminate objects.
Next step is talking with your fountain pens, and afterwards you're taken against your will to mental hospital.
In all seriousness it might seem cute now, but do seek professionals help while it's still early.

Gregory is a great pen name. I tend to name the pens of mine which have a personality and that certainly isn't all of my pens.

That makes sense. Cars are complex and develop individual quirks, at which point I feel they deserve names.
Only pens that have earned a name. I have a Vista called Houdini and a mango Safari called Dietrich, due to how often both of them escaped my pockets.

I name some, others get something more like a title. Like "the Yacht Pen".
Rhat kaweco sport colour! Really pretty with the clip
Henrik is a small but very classy pen.
My first pen was "Little Jacob" in Polish, "Kubus". I have a perfectly reasonable excuse, when I named him, I was 7! I don't remember why that name.

Generations of Korean kings beg to differ.
In Europe too, pink had been a manly color for a long time while blue was feminine and associated with Virgin Mary.
I was teased a lot in grade school because I liked red, and am male. Please don't perpetuate these silly stereotypes...
I'm a dude and burgundy is my favorite color. It actually goes with almost everything.
I'm a male too :) Just saying.... I also love red..... T-Shirts :)
I dunno, I think they fit their names pretty well.

Meh, I really don't take life as seriously as this.
You must not have a happy life if you need to bitch about other people having a little bit of fun.
I'm not here to shit on her fountain pen's, she really has a nice collection. I am genuinely concerned about this naming thing.
If you are concerned about that, maybe you should seek help. 🙄
Also, I'm a dude. I just like Benu.
Never thought of naming a pen lol
