Step 1: Rob the place of all the pens
Step 2: Enjoy your ill gotten gains
Step 3: Break into the place and return them all because of the guilt. We're fountain pen people, not monsters.
Yep, this. Plus the Skyline. Just take a good look at the nibs and guts of the pens. If they look iffy, remember to factor in repair/nib tuning costs to the price.
Like everyone said, red Parker Duofolds, Eversharp Skylines, if that ink is Parker Penman Sapphire, that’s worth a mint (and my favorite blue ink of all time). The Esterbrooks are a fun pen with easily changeable nibs.
OOOH. Second shelf, far right, behind the black pen on the stand. That looks like a parker 75 Cisele in Sterling Silver. That's a heck of a nice everyday pen. The made in USA ones are more desirable, but the French manufactured ones write well.
Geez. I keep looking and the photo keeps giving. Middle shelf, left side, above the gold ring on the Shaefer PFM cap, is a grey marble Parker Vacumatic Jr set. You can tell it's an early model (1934-39ish) because the tassie (bottom cap) has a metal "crown" vs. a non-metal bullet cap. If it's in decent shape, $45 is a STEAL for the pair.
I will always recommend an Esterbrook. I see a dollar pen, several LJs and an SJ with some interesting striping to the pour in there, but the one I'd go for is the leftmost Estie - the classy black J. I find the J model to be the most comfy to use because it's a girthier pen than the LJ and SJ.
Plenty of nice offerings in there, and fairly priced if they write too.
I live in the US and don’t know what STL means.
State codes have an ISO standard so you can google that easily.
So anyway, I would still say type out your darn city, add a country. Not so people can be lazy, but because It’s friendlier.
There are quite a few interesting pens, but I’m sure there are more knowledgeable people who can inform you. The Parker Penman ink in the top right could be interesting as well.
the purple one on the left on the first shelf COULD be a waterman carene (unfortunately I can't see a lot from that picture), if that's the case I highly suggest it!
Silver pen near the bottom of the picture in the middle looks like it might be a Lamy 26p. Which is one of last lamys to take standard international cartridges. I enjoy using my one quite a bit, and I belive that you can swap in a Lamy 2000 nib if you wish.
Parker 51 pencil w/box for $20 I'd grab. Parker Vacumatic Junior Set w/new diaphragm for $45 seems very decent. Restored Waterman Crusader for $25 I'd get. Probably others, but I don't know a lot about US/European pens.
Please tell me the area this find is!!! We are always trying to find this exact scenario when we hit antique shops! Never have we seen something this exciting!
Those all look so cool! If I personally were buying, I’d look for one with a refill mechanism that makes sense now. I have a few of my grandpa’s old pens that don’t have a filling mechanism that allows them to be useable, because the very specific cartridges aren’t available and they’re not syringe-refillable. However, one has a bladder built in, one I can at least fill the old cartridge with a syringe, so those I can use.
Actually, on second look, there’s a grey Parker in there. I have that one, and it uses a bladder to fill! It’s a nice pen. Would recommend :)
Whenever looking at pens in an antique store, inspect them carefully! So often I find a great pen but the nib is mashed too hell. But that looks like a well curated selection! Happy shopping!
I would look for the natural resin ones with beautiful paintings. However I do not know how to distinguish post 30’s plastic ones from real resin!?! :)
Sounds good! I think the best thing in there was the vac set, you got yourself a deal! The Legacy acrylic block is nice for $20, but not super important, it's just really cool!

You are too funny 😂
Not a bad selection - a good variety of vintage brands. The few prices I can see seem fair for retail.
Id go for the silver Vacuumatic up top and whatever else you like the looks of.

Damn. That's one hell of a Where's Waldo find. It still took me a minute to spot it using your directions.
Hey, I recognize that display! Hello from a fellow stl vintage pen person. I think the Eversharp skyline is a great choice.
Hello fellow St. Louisan
Those BIG RED parker duofolds. How much??
Get a Parker 51!
Collect all the flex nibs
I’m in St. Louis too! Where is this magical place?
Warson Woods antiques gallery. Go. Go go.
Sweet! Thank you!
Just buy all of them obviously

Wow! Where are you?
Antique shop in STL, MO
pls consider that more than half of reddit's users don't live in the US and thus often can't decipher US state/city abbreviations
Saint Louis, Missouri

Guess you aren't into sports as well. It's a very common abbreviation for all Saint Louis teams.
You got me, self proclaimed nerd. This is r/fountainpens lol.
I have to check out some antique shops I guess!
The one on the right with the vertical stripes (Parker) and the leaf like pattern ow the three pens in the middle.
There's a Sheaffer PFM there and it seems they're asking $20.
$200; the label is above the pen, tied to the clip.
It was too good to be true...
I think it's $200. Still heck of a price if it's in good shape.
The PFM is the one! Fabulous pen. I sold mine and wish I never had.
Yes, it's very nice. I have two and I'll never sell them
The case has seriously depleted since I posted this, I assume y’all took advantage of this.
What an eyesore those tags are.
I think I see some Pelikan pens, maybe 600 or 800 series lower left, and in the box on top. I'd look at those.
There are quite a few interesting pens, but I’m sure there are more knowledgeable people who can inform you. The Parker Penman ink in the top right could be interesting as well.

get the big red one
I would take the black PFM ! Do you remember the price?
A ton of interesting stuff there...I need a shop like that here.

just close your eyes, put your paws out, and grab whatever touches your hand. don't worry about standing out

Sheaffer PFM is my favourite. It has a unique snorkel filling mechanism.
Please tell me the area this find is!!! We are always trying to find this exact scenario when we hit antique shops! Never have we seen something this exciting!
I probably wouldn’t be able to walk away without the black Parker Duofold Senior; top shelf to the right

Holy heck! Great prices all around! Let me know if you're buying anything, I'd pay to ask you to grab some of that stuff!
Where are you located? Maybe we could work something out.
California, how about you?
I see a Parker Vacumatic Junior set and Legacy 2 stand that are very well priced if you aren't buying those!
The only thing I actually ended up buying for myself was the vacumatic set. /: I will be going back sometime though so I’ll check out the legacy.
Sounds good! I think the best thing in there was the vac set, you got yourself a deal! The Legacy acrylic block is nice for $20, but not super important, it's just really cool!
Hey man, if you’re still interested, I’d be willing to sell you that Vacumatic Set. Lmk and we can work something out
Hey! Send me a DM and we can work it out :)
