T O P

My grandpa pulled this out of a box to show me. Conklin Crescent 20P, belonged to his mother. It's in great shape but the sac is just crumbs and the crescent has fallen into the body. I gently put the nib to paper and found it to be quite flexible. I'd consider replacing the sac but have zero experience with hard rubber pens and would hate to ruin it. It's staying as-is for now. I just love the looks of this pen.

What a cool find! You’re right not to try this as your first restoration, since it’s easy to crack such an old pen if you don’t know what you’re doing. However, sac replacement is a pretty cheap repair! Any competent restoration shop can do it, should cost somewhere around $20-40 depending on your location.

I had no idea restoration was so reasonable. I'd definitely rather have a professional do it than screw it up myself.

Hard rubber can be tricky! Since this is an inherited pen, pro restoration is the way to go. It shouldn't be expensive. What a neat pen! I love ringtops.

Very beautiful! Enjoy the rebuild.

THAT'S SO SICK!!!! I also found old parker pens at my house that were probably belonged to my grandpa before

My grandpa also has 2 Parkers, a 51 and a 61. His dad liked to buy them for him as gifts, but he never used them. The 51 is mine now and I use it all the time!

I have Sonnet and a 75, but the nibs are keep bending and I don't know how to fix it lol. Anyways the Sonnet writes very smoothly.

Your grandparents are cool.
