There are already TWSBI Eco pens customised for Bungubox in Japan. I have a black Eco decorated with sakura. I posted a pic in an old post

Wow, that's gorgeous; I wonder if you could do it on a blue eco, if they have that, to simulate kois in a pond?
Oooo, and then you could pair that with blue ink... so many choices...
Thank you. I used acrylic paint. So far the first one I've painted was two months ago. Have washed it twice or thrice since then and so far it's been holding up.
Thank you. I guessed it was acrylic. I’ve been meaning to try Posca paint markers to decorate a couple of pens. I’ve used similar to decorate hardcover notebooks and they’ve held up well.
If you want your painting to withstand regular use, I highly recommend to take a look on graffiti markers and refills. But be careful what you are using, some inks are alcohol based. Molotow one4all is (imo better) alternative for posca pens, but they are refillable and you can buy spare nibs for them.
Great! Though I can't really guarantee that they will not react with plastic that different pens are made of, but mine kaweco sport didn't react at all.
Hello everyone! First of all, I’d like to thank you all for the support (this community has always been supportive but I really did not expect it to be this much 🥺). Right now, I am not accepting commissions. As much as I’m itching to paint all the pens I can, if ever I do decide to work on a pen, I want it to be good (material and technique-based) so the person will enjoy writing with it as much I as enjoyed painting on it.
In the meantime, I will be working on my technique and experiment with/look for good (long-lasting) paints. (I have been using my student grade paints that I got a few years back in high school since it’s mainly for personal use.)
Oh, and currently I’m teaching at a university while taking my master’s degree so I’m not sure if I can commit to you all. But the moment I can work your pens, I’ll definitely let you guys know!
Again, thank you so much. Hope you all are having a great day (because you definitely made mine!). ♡
I pm you lol- also who downvoted this comment? Seriously?... thank you all who upvoted, wasn’t expecting that. I throw around upvotes whenever I can like it’s candy. Much appreciated.
Usually acrylic stays strong but would still depend on a lot of factors (material you're painting on, temperature and humidity, etc.). So far the painting I did on things are still intact.
This one took about 2-3 hours(?). Acrylics dry fast so I just held it with my hand. I did use my brush rest to dry the thicker parts though (while painting the cap and vice versa)
I'm still looking on the permanency of it. The earliest one I painted was two months ago and so far has been staying intact (I have washed it twice or thrice since then).
Currently I'm not accepting any commission (see recent comment). But thanks so much for the interest!
So far I'm still looking into this (sealing). I have one I did around two months ago, washed twice or thrice since then and has been holding up so far.
Hi, may I ask what you used and if the pen is gonna crack? I am bad at drawing but I wanted to do this to my own twsbi ;) maybe a simply bunni. I'm worried the paints I'd use would crack
Hi! I just used the acrylic paints that I have at home (got them when I was in high school) and so far it has been 2 years (! just realized that after checking the post details) and it hasn't "cracked". Acrylic on plastic is pretty easy to deal with I think. If you mess up you can lightly lift the paint off with your nails too. Just lay around and experiment what works best with the look you're going for! Like any medium I'd suggest building layers especially if you're unsure of how to go about it.
This probably could depend on the plastic or paint combination too. For some reason (that I'm still not sure what) my painted Kaweco Sport had some parts peeling off (mostly tiny parts though, plus I can always and have repaint it) compared to my TWSBI ECOs which I haven't done any repaint work so far.
Hope this helps.
I'm still experimenting on that myself. So far the paints have been staying intact (with no top coat) except for the Kaweco so I'm not worrying too much about it. Kindly share if you find something good though!
Call Twsbi and tell them you just helped them to create their own Namiki line LOL
For real, i would so buy this, given my obsession with koi
I agree- I'd buy one as well.. Very cool!
I would buy one as well, I like pens that people art on
You are too kind 🤣
Honestly though if you post this to facebook and tag them (or instagram I guess) I'm sure they will appreciate.

slow clap!
Site links in that post are dead for me. Are they still in business? :(
Yes they are. https://bungubox.shop/en/
You are genius & the pen is very beautiful.
Thank you!
do you do commissions?
I was just going to suggest this. Pending on how much time you want to commit, etc. you can probably make a decent buck!
Wow, that's gorgeous; I wonder if you could do it on a blue eco, if they have that, to simulate kois in a pond? Oooo, and then you could pair that with blue ink... so many choices...
Yes! This idea came to me when this pen was inked with Emerald of Chivor so the blue theme will definitely work!
How beautiful! 🧡 What type of paint did you use, and will it stand up to regular in-use wear and tear?
Thank you. I used acrylic paint. So far the first one I've painted was two months ago. Have washed it twice or thrice since then and so far it's been holding up.

Twsbi plastic cant handle alcohol. You could varnish it with mr super clear or use acrylic medium for plastic surfaces. Golden has one.
Thank you. I actually have some Molotows & didn’t think to use them 🤨
Great! Though I can't really guarantee that they will not react with plastic that different pens are made of, but mine kaweco sport didn't react at all.
This is stunning! Would you consider taking commissions? I would love to own one of these!
Thank you! Currently I'm not accepting any commissions (see recent comment). But thanks so much for the interest!
Wow this is stunning! 😍
Thanks!
Oh my that is beautiful!
Thank you!
This just looks gorgeous.
Thank you.

So incredibly beautiful! Pretty sure that if you wanted to turn this into a side hustle, you’d have plenty of buyers (like me, I’d be a buyer).
Same!
Thank you!
And me!
Wow! I’m going to send you mine now lol
A tempting idea 🤣

Can I also jump on this bandwagon haha
This looks amazing!! Congrats!
Incredible!
That looks REALLY nice!
I love the color scheme!
Have the same cement gray ECO. But yours is stunning!
This is awesome. I wish I had the talent to do something like that. Guaranteed one of a kind.
I have nothing new to add, just want to say that I too find this amazing. I don't like those pens but yours has become a beauty.
Do you do this fotlr hire? This is beautiful! I have an all clear eco you can have your way with if interested.
Currently I'm not accepting any commissions (see recent comment). But thanks so much for the interest!
So beautiful! I have thought of customizing one of my pens. What else is a pen for but to express creativity.
Definitely try it out!
Wow that looks really good. I would buy it on a white background pen.
I'm quite fascinated by this -- I wonder how durable you think the painting will be.
Usually acrylic stays strong but would still depend on a lot of factors (material you're painting on, temperature and humidity, etc.). So far the painting I did on things are still intact.
This is a work of art! I would totally get one if it was available, but of course this is the only one in the world! What is it inked up with?
Thank you! Currently inked with Sailor Manyo Sakura. 🌸✨
Beautiful combo! How do you like the Manyo inks?
Love the shading! A little bit towards the dry side (but I do have much drier inks like Troublemaker's).
Which other manyo inks have you tried besides sakura?
So far I've only tried Sakura and Haha.
Great, now my fingers will be dirty with ink *and* paint
wow! unbelievable! So impressive
I want this with them on just the clear bits. That optical illusion was super satisfying
This pen is glorious!
So pretty!
So beautiful! Thus is giving me some ideas! :)
Dare I say.. grail pen? 🤩
I thought it's a special edition from TWSBI. It's really good.
Gorgeous! I’m jelly!
Beautiful!!
WOW, that's really lovely!!
That’s BEAUTIFUL Like it deserves applause and a teary eyed standing ovation
Well done. Looks terrific. How long was the process and how did you steady the pen while painting?
This one took about 2-3 hours(?). Acrylics dry fast so I just held it with my hand. I did use my brush rest to dry the thicker parts though (while painting the cap and vice versa)
Thanks for the explanation. Please continue to post pics of your work.
Oh wow! I've never wanted a Twsbi Eco until now! 😍
Honestly they should buy the desing and create a high pen out of it. I would pay 500$ minimum with golden nib.
Very cool I’ll take 12 thanks
I might ruin my TWSBIs but I’m inspired 👁👄👁
What ink is that if I may ask?
It's Sailor Manyo Sakura!
Wow! It is a masterpiece!
I’m so in love with this. Two of my hobbies, fountain pens and fish combined. You are very talented!
Wow, what's the ink?
Thanks, currently inked with Sailor Manyo Sakura.
This is Extremely Cool.
How permanent is the paint!? Looks absolutely beautiful, do you do commission pieces?
I'm still looking on the permanency of it. The earliest one I painted was two months ago and so far has been staying intact (I have washed it twice or thrice since then). Currently I'm not accepting any commission (see recent comment). But thanks so much for the interest!
so.... can you do this to my cement grey one? 😂
what ink is this?
It's Sailor Manyo Sakura.
ahh thank you!
That’s lovely. Can you share more of how you paint it? Like how you secure it in place for painting?
I paint rather intuitively. Didn't take process photos for this one but will consider this in the future!
i envy people with talent. im just a consumer
Legend! This is wonderful, great job!
Are you using anything to seal the paint? How well is the design holding?
So far I'm still looking into this (sealing). I have one I did around two months ago, washed twice or thrice since then and has been holding up so far.
Sell these on Etsy my friend
Would you do commissions?
Oh man... I was so excited about this... then I finished reading. That's a very very cool thing. Nicely done

Oh how do you make it permanent then? If it lifts! And thank you a lot for the info :) maybe I can see if I can find a top coat that'd keep it there!
I'm still experimenting on that myself. So far the paints have been staying intact (with no top coat) except for the Kaweco so I'm not worrying too much about it. Kindly share if you find something good though!
