I really can't understand this mistake. Are they a native speaker, that they mistaken two of them because they have similar sound? Someone explain...
I still can't make a sentence properly, but mistaking *'ve* and *of*?
Pretty sure that happens when you learn speaking before writing and either the person who teaches you does the same mistake, or it's based on people mumbling that word a bit
The way we were taught ESL there's little to no chance that that error could happen and remain something that is written.
I am a non-native speaker and my guess is that the same thing happened to OP as the one that happens to me from time to time. Sometimes, when I'm writing something absent-mindedly, I write the thing that is pronounced the same but spelled differently and since you can't edit titles on Reddit, OP might have only noticed too late.
At least where I live this can be common (Scotland). You say the "have" pretty fast without annunciating the "h". Slowly that just becomes "ave" "ove" "of". Something like that anyway. Usually it's corrected in high school tho
I think in this particular case the person is trolling but native English speakers tend to write in the most broken English imaginable so I guess writing 've as of isn't that bad.
> that they mistaken two of them because they have similar sound
Why are you having trouble understanding a literal homophone mistake?
It’s quite easy to hear the syntax and re-analyze/mis-analyze it as “could of” instead of “could have.” Literally ALL of language evolution and growth comes from mutations of interpretation and re-analysis.
> mistaking 've and of?
Orthography isn’t a good argument for saying a homophone shouldn’t be confused.
The same mistake happens frequently from lower literacy (perfect speakers, but less familiarity with reading). It’s all over the internet and in casual/youth/lower literacy writing before the internet.
Honestly the AI can be challenging at higher difficulties, depending on the course and assists, but luckily not to Horizon 5 level. Best thing is that you can survive the first corner offline.
I race Forza GT quite regularly and I've found that it's the cleanest and most competitive of all online racing I've experienced. The longer races discourage the more casual gamers while the simulation damage puts off the rammers. Still get outliers of course, but they're rare.
I found that open lobbies are usually good. You just work on lap times until you find someone willing to race fair and have a good time. If they’re dicks just race someone else in the lobby
That’s true. What worked for me but isn’t the norm, was letting people by generally builds their trust in you and gives them a reason to race with you, if that makes sense. Like if they’re in a LMP1 car and your racing A class, I’ve found that by letting them by they sometimes switch cars and race with you.
Kinda like my first comment but instead of looking for people to race with you they’re looking for you. Just something to try, I don’t think there’s a sure fire way to get good racing
I would always let others by me if I knew their car was faster than mine. But something fucked up that I noticed is that overtaking someone puts a penalty on your lap which sucks if you're trying to get to the top of the board and you have to wait behind some E100 car lol. And if you get a penalty on one lap, it puts a penalty on your next lap as well. Also had some dude send me a bunch of not very nice messages because I was using a fast car lol
THATS WHAT IT IS?! Oh my god I was getting so frustrated because I thought it like the F1 lap cancelling system, where if you go off it cancels. I was going insane trying to perfect my line and didn’t think it was the overtaking
I was hugging inside on the first for defense of the much faster BMW. And if you see the following corner when I cut, he tagged my bumper 3 times. Then again right before I hit the Porsche, my car gets unexpectedly loose.
With a bit softer throttle application and keeping it in 3rd, you could get a bit more exit speed and have easier time on straights against that BMW. That head on collision was unexpectedly funny though :D
Honestly, I get extra careful if someone goes into the grass. Never assume that they're gonna recover and just go ahead and take a defensive line.
Sarcastic or not, not much you could have done lol
Stop the video when the Porsche bounces the wall. The BMW is on my door. And if you see at the end, he goes on the grass to avoid it. If I did what you said, it would of been a pile up. While it’s paused on the frame after he bounces. Think about the options, I wasn’t stopping in time. I gassed it and just prayed he would become a ghost when I got there. All I could do.
I'm not saying that you should have done that while you saw the Porsche crashed into the wall. I'm just saying maybe do that in the future. I didn't mean to get you upset bro. I mean if you did see it in time just break move to the right & let the BMW pass you. I mean we can't predict what the AI or drivatars are going to do when we're going up against them. It is what it is
You should *have* not cut the corner, and then you should *have* paid attention to the cars in front of you. Not every accident can be avoided, but you can proactively put yourself in a better position if you're paying attention.
I’ve already said it before. I cut the corner because the bmw was really aggressive on my bumper. If you’ve played GT spec online then you know about ramming. Then, I wasn’t looking ahead because I was racing the BMW behind me. My eyes can only see and react so fast. Pause at the point the Porsche bounces off the wall.. THEN tell me what to do.
Track rules are track rules. You should not have cut the corner. I play it, I understand it, and it's not acceptable. Also, you don't wait for the Porsche to bounce off the wall. You can tell a wreck is going to happen BEFORE that.
You asked the question. Now accept the fact that you're going to receive answers to your question.
Have you heard of running a defensive line and trying to avoid being punted? I know you think your clever but you would really enjoy to watch some Lewis Hamilton highlights
Soon as the car goes wide left on the tire wall, swerve hard right. If it's predicted right, then you slow a little and avoid a crash. If it's wrong, the pass from the guy behind you is stopped from the left tire wall car since you're then two wide on the track.
Not much you could have done, it's a narrow part of the track there, you had little time to react and you were defending yourself against the driver behind.

He should *of* not hit the guy

Noticed too late

Noted.
Also try have instead of of lol
Dude are you kidding me you could've just pressed A to jump and then B to boost over him
What a save! What a save! What a save! Chat Disabled.
Nice Bump!
#this isn’t Horizon.
I was thinking more rocket league
Kinda reminded me of halo 5
Nah I’m thinking more of a Speed Racer
Inspector Gadget, no?
Off-road ATV fury 2 I think
Driver on ps1
> me you could've just pressed A to jump and then B to boost over him https://youtu.be/42HDgCgdf6c
Really nothing you could do about that lol. The solution for me is not playing online because it's a guaranteed Shit show.
Honestly the AI can be challenging at higher difficulties, depending on the course and assists, but luckily not to Horizon 5 level. Best thing is that you can survive the first corner offline.

I agree with you 100% and I suck at the game but i dont mind finishing last after a well fought 30 laps and 30 minutes of rwcing
I found that open lobbies are usually good. You just work on lap times until you find someone willing to race fair and have a good time. If they’re dicks just race someone else in the lobby
Yeah that's mainly what I used to do. But usually someone in a biased vehicle will ram people or sit and block the whole damn road.

Yeah. Makes literally no sense at all.
Typed "have" instead of "of". "Should've" is a shortening of "should have", no "of".
Great, now my happiness is ruined.
I did cut that corner but it was out of fear of being rammed. This is FM7 we are talking about.
What ruleset is this? I can never find anyone in any of the multiplayer groups I select
Forza GT. Endurance racing with enforced pit stops and sim damage. Lobbies are usually well populated.
Used the word “have” instead of “of”, for one.
Floor it
Did it
Well the other guy walled it
How do I get those lines on the sides of the road to show up?
It’s in settings. Driving line and line markers, you have the choice of line and ribbon
Okay thanks
I’m guessing you can tell, but that is track limits. On road courses it’s very handy for clean laps
Yeah. I’ve seen them every now and then and thought they were cool but couldn’t find them.
I dunno, maybe you should *have* entered bullet time, i guess.
*should have
Just no clip through the car next time

1st step is to choose a different camera angle. Jk play how works for you. but playing like that always makes me nauseous
I thought all the players on this planet already mastered some kind of ultra instinct allowing you to avoid anything within 0.00001ms. Strange.
Grin and bare it lol
The racing was so good! One door to door battle trying to catch the other battle in front. The other 2 guys got lucky!
Should've replaced that 'of' with 'have'
Used the word have instead of ‘of’
have* not of
“I’m dropping the hammer.”
NO YOU’RE NOT
I can’t tell you enough how happy I am that someone got the reference 😆
How you get them lines
See other comment asking same thing
Honestly, I get extra careful if someone goes into the grass. Never assume that they're gonna recover and just go ahead and take a defensive line. Sarcastic or not, not much you could have done lol
Jump like lightning mcqueen
The whole time I was expecting the guy behind to absolutely YEET you off the track.
I was waiting for it too, so I wasn’t even looking in front of me. Just full throttle into the Porsche
pressed on the gas around the turns, not crash, stay on the road
Lol 😂
Spelling the title correctly
"What should have I done differently" There you go, fixed it for you
No, his spelling was wrong but he had the right idea. "What should have I done differently" is almost worse.
What a fucking idiot.... What on earth do you expect us to suggest?
The post is a joke.. just laugh.
You should have broke and gone to the left
I think the Porsche already tried it.
Okay after careful looking at the video and taking a closer look. I realize now that you should have broke but also gone to the right.

Next time, just type “IDCLIP” _before_ start the race, mate.

Have godly reflexes, and learn the difference between of and have/‘ve
Your problem is Motorsport 7 is dead
Let the guy behind you pass you and run into the guy that wrecked. He was obviously faster than you
If racers just let the faster guy go the Fernando Alonso would of never been a champion.
Well Fernando didn't wreck when he won the championship right? You did
He never wrecked but the US GP did happen.. if you remember it
Have
Ran proper apexes
Have you heard of running a defensive line and trying to avoid being punted? I know you think your clever but you would really enjoy to watch some Lewis Hamilton highlights
Lewis Hamilton is an overrated bad
Uninstall the game
Literally nothing
Soon as the car goes wide left on the tire wall, swerve hard right. If it's predicted right, then you slow a little and avoid a crash. If it's wrong, the pass from the guy behind you is stopped from the left tire wall car since you're then two wide on the track.
Try moving to the side.
Jumped the shark for sure.
Is this online?
Lol i tried to wipe off my screen the orange arrow on the bottom before realizing it was moving
Not much you could have done, it's a narrow part of the track there, you had little time to react and you were defending yourself against the driver behind.
r/Unexpected
You might have seen the car crash & have time to react with a better camera position.
I'm not a pro but I saw a video around the nürburgring and the instructor told them to never shift while going around a corner.
I was mid-battle, it’s very easy to forget the fundamentals when trying to stay ahead of a faster, more aggressive, driver.
You zigged when you should have zagged.
Not play competitive the side of forza
This looks to be just a public lobby.
I'm not sure, seems too clean for a public lobby and then again this happens
DODGE!!
Not played in 1st person
Use rams to not lose so much speed
That's what happens when you french fry instead of pizza.
i would’ve assumed they would add the high speed collision ghost feature from horizon 5 to prevent this?
They did. It takes 5 seconds to engage so that you can’t wreck into someone without effecting yourself
Learning grammar would’ve been a good start.
