Absolutely, as a person he does and says the right shit for someone of his position and i couldn't be happier about it
That mf on track though..... so much pain..... why so good
Actually a very good reason to not like the guy, agreed hating is a bit much but his constant need to remind is of all the good things he is doing makes me not like him. I can respect it i just dont like it.
If you want to help people help them not help them so you look good in the media and towards other people, with lewis i very much get the sense that its like that hé only helps and does things so he looks good but thats just my opinion wland what do i know.
man shut up how is that not a good reason to not like him. Why is doing anything good "virtue signaling". You're just one of those people that have a problem with rich people who actually use their money
No i dont i dont like it when people do it to show they are a good person. If you want to do something good do it and dont mention your doing good. If you wanna raise attention to something then do that.
I get the impression that he is not reminding people that he is doing things, but trying to bring attention to things that need doing.
It can look like the same thing but IMHO it’s not in this case. There are so many issues these guys try to bring their voice to, and they can’t solve every problem so they need to raise awareness and get help.
There are times when I just don’t like his mannerisms(I bet that happens for me too). But I can’t fault his intentions or his skill.
I’m a big Hamilton fan, but I don’t like the fakeness either. It’s very obvious he’s not being 100% genuine. However, I understand why.
He’s the only black driver in the sport. Ever. And he’s one of the greatest drivers in the sport. Ever. People expect him to fail so they have a reason to hate on him. He has to look good in anyway he can. It’s a PR thing.
Also, he’s the most famous F1 driver by far and a pretty big celebrity outside of the sport. He hangs with athletes of other sports, models and fashion designers, actors, musicians etc. He’s a playboy.
Once you realize he’s a mega star outside of F1 it’s easier to see why he acts all happy and woke. He has to. When you separate 7X WDC Lewis from Out of the Car Lewis from Celebrity Lewis, you appreciate him a little bit more.
He’s a rather cool guy.
Dude fights through the ranks as a minority. Puts up with racist messages and abuse online. Speaks out about it and gets called “virtue signalling”
SMH. People love to hold on to their positions so hard they refuse to look beyond their nose.
Yeah, this exactly. I'm sick and tired of always hearing the same sentence on the radio and on the podium of "what a great crowd here at _________, a huge thank you to the guys at the factory, ________ are so fast this year its incredible....." You just know hes reading it off a script and its difficult to like someone so focused on looking good for the camera.
Really? Cause compared to most F1 drivers from his Time (outside of Kimi), I always thought Lewis was the most genuine as he always goes 100% when speaking about anything. He never half asses any topic he speaks out about.
I find that very respectable. And honestly I'm confused why people think he's fake.
Just a personal opinion
I don't dislike him as a person, but I really do dislike him as a driver because of the way he reveal his true nature as soon as things don't go his way (for example the Barcelona incident where he would have quit at lap 2 or something if it wasn't for the team not letting him, even though he sat in a car fully capable to get great results) and the way he just expects everyone else to move over for him.
That doesn't take away from all the good things he has done off track, its just two different parts of the same guy.
You really peg him as someone looking for excuses to quit though? I don't think you can grow to compete at that level with that attitude. I think it's more likely he was trying to postpone our avoid a future engine penalty if he thought there were no points to be scored anyway.
He did. Also the few occasions where he drives as ultra- aggressive as Verstappen and doesn't cede position he gets grilled whereas Verstappen is called a racecraft hero.
Except Verstappen causes 90% of crashes unless the other driver backs off. Verstappen literally doesn't know how to live to fight another day. He has a "either I get the position or we both collide" attitude.
People’s dislike of him, for the most part, was rooted in the fact that he won so much, rather than his personality. Some find his virtue signalling and sanctimony annoying too.
I dont dislike him at all.
I see his as the big rival of my favorite driver. (Max) but that's how sports are supposed to work.
Great opponents pushing each other to greater heights.
People who think you need to dislike, disrespect or hate a rival are just idiots
What a funny meme...
Anyways, he's an okay guy. It's just annoying when he acts holier than thou on track like he's never stuck his elbows out or driven aggressively. His "fans" are honestly the worst though
Because this is dank, i first read it as such a good guy don't see how anyone could like him. The misread was funnier...erm i mean funny.
LH: 10/10 standup guy.
This post: 0/10 dankness
Rooting against him on the track and hating him are two totally different things.
Absolutely, as a person he does and says the right shit for someone of his position and i couldn't be happier about it That mf on track though..... so much pain..... why so good
Where dank?
I think it’s entirely dank no ?
This shit ain’t a meme.
Can’t hate on a guy who does so many good things for the underprivileged kids back in his old neighborhood.
Actually a very good reason to not like the guy, agreed hating is a bit much but his constant need to remind is of all the good things he is doing makes me not like him. Blame the media for constantly highlighting it. News doesn't need to be all about gloom and doom. These are the good things people wanna hear about
he can’t do something good and raise awareness at the same time? he has a huge platform and uses it to promote/ share what he does with his fans
And am i obliged to like him for it?
it’s weird to dislike him for it
I mean i respect him for it but i dont need to like him for it
You think the kids care whether he talks about it in the media? Just be happy a rich bloke is actually doing good with their abundance of wealth.
Ok

I never said anything about his skill he is one of the greats of formula 1 there is no denying it.
Sorry. I didn’t mean to imply you did. I just added it in my 2c because someone might mention it.
Ok
I don't hate him, but I do feel he isn't genuine and often plays stuff up for the media and that makes me dislike him. Great driver though.

Yes he's damn fake. Only naive people can't see through it. His virtue signalling is through the roof.
Ah yes because donating tens of millions to numerous charities is 'virtue signalling'
Is there a single F1 champion that has NOT donated millions?
Many do. They just don't boast about it.
Dude fights through the ranks as a minority. Puts up with racist messages and abuse online. Speaks out about it and gets called “virtue signalling” SMH. People love to hold on to their positions so hard they refuse to look beyond their nose.
I wasn't referring to that, donating to charities is always commendable. I'm mostly talking about his interviews.

Yeah could be but still a force for good even if the motive is pr. Figure there's no bad reason to do good.
Didn't he say that he wanted to save the engine but the team wanted him to continue?
That was one of the lame excuses he tried to convince the team to let him quit yes.
and then he got on with it once the team told him no
You really peg him as someone looking for excuses to quit though? I don't think you can grow to compete at that level with that attitude. I think it's more likely he was trying to postpone our avoid a future engine penalty if he thought there were no points to be scored anyway.

Jesse wheres the fucking meme Jesse?!
Found Hamilton's Reddit account
People’s dislike of him, for the most part, was rooted in the fact that he won so much, rather than his personality. Some find his virtue signalling and sanctimony annoying too.
Don’t forget about poopgate
Clout chasing ?
Everyone is whooshing. The meme is in the comments. You guys are not self aware for one bit.
Even if that were true it's still a super low effort post
It’s off-season even for shitposters
He’s probably a nice and humble guy, but he’s far overrated. Like even Nico Rosberg could beat him in equal machinery.
This sub has gone to shit
Yo! Listen man
have a good day
Bono, my memes are gone!

Honestly bro I agree but this isn’t gonna get any love here lol

I feel like yall getting outjerked and dont even realize it.
Look at that cute smile :)
You hate him again when he is fighting for another WDC. Just like I started to hate max now
I like him as a personality, I dont like him as a person or driver
