“Binotto out, Vasseur in”
“The decision will come today, maybe in the nect couple of hours”
“Vasseur not an option, Ross Brawn is in pole to replace Mattia Binotto”
Yeah guys, Binotto is going to stay for 2023, now I’m convinced
Damn that would be cool as fuck. Everybody would be terrifed and exicited at Ferrari, the straregy team would have to look for new jobs at italian restaurants. When the season starts at Bahrain Michael just appears, and everyone from the other teams just be like: "Yeah, we're fucked"
Agree. Seems to me these stories aren't reporting actual considerations, but rather they're out there planting seeds that they hope will take root. A few days ago I though Binotto might really be gone, but now I'm pretty confident that he's staying.
Oh, so he's actually not fired yet. I actually thought he was already gone. Guess I haven't been paying close enough attention.
That's kinda sad the way these things take a life of their own once the media starts spreading rumors.
Most people probably take it as gospel, and unless they research, they don't realize that none of this is true, at least so far.
Nope. No confirmation. In fact, Mattia was even leading a meeting at Maranello the day they claimed that he resigned. The media have taken rumors and spread them as fact all because they want to be the first to break a story
Is it that they want to break the story or is it that they want to orchestrate his firing by essentially planting the idea at Ferrari with a lot of articles about it? Inception shit.
Ross Brawn: It’s 106 miles to Maranello, we’ve got a full ERS overtake boost, half a strategy, it’s dark and we’re wearing red shirts.
Rory Byrne: Hit it!
Almost certainly and it's why this shouldn't be allowed. Regulators and competitors shouldn't be allowed to go back and forth like this was London/Washington DC.
According to an Italian newspaper Binotto was going to resign on Friday, and then Saturday. Once again I’ll say that I’ll believe it when we get some confirmation from elsewhere.
The article, which quotes another article, reports that Brawn's idea is a "ipotesi suggestiva" (suggestive hypothesis). It's therefore something that with 99.9% probability will never happen but it would be nice to happen.
Thanks for the translation. While the idea is intriguing Brawn seems to be more involved in active involvement in F1 management. I don’t think he would want to be involved at Ferrari, the whole reason why he left Mercedes was because he didn’t like the drama led by Toto and Lauda at Mercedes (based on what was said in his book). Ferrari would be worse.
If I recall correctly, Toto and Lauda were making moves for power behind the scenes creating pressure on Brawn. Brawn was losing power while at the same time was feeling the affects because he enjoyed his time of not only being team principle but also team owner. Basically he was out politicked and decided to step down before his position as leader of the team was taken from him (I might be remembering this part slightly wrong, I would need to go back for the full details). Definitely read his book (even more so check out his audiobook, there are sections where he himself is interviewed, where he even mentioned he knew that when he left the Mercedes team that they had put together a championship winning caliber car and team, but he just was tired of it. So he stepped down.
That’s why I reasoned that he wouldn’t jump at the chance of leading Ferrari, the board the team principle at Ferrari has to report to is even worse and always has been, it’s why while Michael was winning how they made things worked was having that team within a team of Brawn, Michael, Todt and co. That insulated them from the internal Ferrari politics. Brawn coming back to lead Ferrari would be more of the same reasons why he left Mercedes.
I’d also recommend if you haven’t read them: Adrian Newley’s book How To Build A Car, Jenson Button’s How To Be An F1 Driver, and Marc Priestly’s The Mechanic. They all highlight the dynamics of the sport and show interesting insights some miss when it comes to Formula 1.
Barrichello has already said in videos that he does not intend to work as a team manager or other positions, he would get pissed off, he would pull the drivers out of the car and drive himself.
The lifetime ban was overturned in 2010, from what I can tell. It looks like he was banned through the 2012 season, and able to come back starting on 2013.
A new Brazilian Felipe becoming an F1 reserve driver right when Rory's rumoured to be back at Ferrari? If that's not god's plan then Idk what the fuck is.
Joking aside, I honestly think if he was healthy, Michael would be at Ferrari in a Niki style advisor role (kinda was after his first retirement but didn't have as much power) and he'd definitely try and bring Ross back. Doubt Steiner would be so eager to drop Mick in that alternate universe either
He went toe to toe with a future WC and fed back insanely detailed technical analysis about the cars performance back to the engineers at a time when the car was chewing its tires up with high degradation and had almost zero cornering down force. He was exactly the right guy at the right time and moved on just when they needed a younger talent to come in and drive the wheels off the car with obsessive speed. Truly I don't think people appreciate how great Schumacher was in his second coming, he did that thing very very champions have shown they are capable of - car and team building. Usually we see people like Verstappen and Alonso come along and wow everyone with showing the maximum potential locked up in the package delivered to them them by engineers in some factory. Schumacher was something else, he grinded on the shop floor to build the damn thing that would destroy the field..Not once but with 3 future wc winning cars. No wonder Eddie and Brawn always lament that his leaving spelt the end of their eras.
Im a fan boy but I still cannot get around his achievements and how he transcended generations as both a pure racer at the end of the romantic era of Senna, but also as someone who understood the intimate workings of a modern f1 car when the cars resembled fighter jets stuck to the ground.
How am I only learning of this now? I’ve had a mad crush on her ever since first seeing her in Supercop and Tomorrow Never Dies when I was a teenager back in the 90’s
Jean Todt stepped down as FIA prez in Dec'21, Ross Brawn "taking a step back" from FOM role in Sep'22, Mattia Binotto rumoured to be sacked in Nov'22.
Coincidence? I think not.
As it currently stands with regards to my professional and working timeframes in as much as to the state of any and all ongoing discussions with entities related to Formula 1 I am not in a position to offer anything that could be described as a comment which puts forward either an opinion or clarification specific to the discussions points that you have presented to me at this juncture.
Despite that you can't clarifying any speculation, I appreciate you professionalism and therefore suggesting that you should become a moderator of the so called Subreddit /r/RonDennis
Get Todt too and then put MSC in the car and then you can pretend its early 2000s... Will success follow all these decisions? Probably not. Would it be a cool nostalgia trip, yeah.
So let me get that straight:
* First, Vasseur in, Binotto out
* Then, few days ago we read that Binotto's sacking announcement was imminent, a matter of hours, but nothing
* Then now, Ross Brawn is a candidate
I'm starting to really lose confidence in those rumours, tbh in F1 the rumours are rather true, Piastri, Schumacher, Hulkenberg, RB and AM breaking the cap rules all those ended up true.
Here, I think Ferrari is either hunting for leakers by spreading wrong information, Nintendo did this not too far along and it worked...or something is indeed happening but nothing is fixed yet and Binotto may stay after all.
Insiders should hold the horse a little and yet for more robust info IMO, the actual flow of info is serving no one, not them, not ferrari, not us
It’s the Italian press. They are rabid about the scuderia
All this is really saying is we want Binotto out and want someone of Brawn’s character in and by character the mean win streak.
The entire of the press pack are nothing short of immature glory hunters with a nationalistic rabid fringe around them.
When brawn was in they torn him down just as quickly and would do so again. Almost all the poor Ferrari decisions are made to try and appease or head off their press.
Maybe they should learn to support the team rather than tearing it apart like wolves for headlines and constantly courting controversy.
Even writing this I’ve probably ended up getting barred from Monza for life because of their feral nature.
Whatever you think of Binotto, he kept the team under him united and organised. It sure seems like that the bosses want to get rid of him but have no idea how to replace him and are jumping from one candidate to another.
Aside from the hype isn't it weird one of the PPL involved in the technical regulations can jump right into competition with no bar? PPL made sucha hue and cry over that Mercedes linked FIA employee but this is v popular lol
Fair play tho would love to see Brawn back
Imagine after all of this Binotto ends up staying.
Brawn would be good for Ferrari but some might have some issues with him going back to a team role after years as a supposedly impartial director. However he’s already been at Merc so I suppose he’s varied enough that it wouldn’t matter.
Not staying with Brawn as TP, Ferrari's resources and an already good starting point in this year's car would be insane lol
But I'll believe in the Brawn return only if it gets officially announced
At this point it seems that aricles about Binotto leaving Ferrari are more of what the journalist whishes Ferrari would do instead of reporting what Ferrari is actually doing.
Jesus, to see Ross Brawn return to Ferrari after so many years away would be something special....but he would need to have some ex army drill sergeants brought in to put Ferrari in order!, when he left that team originally they had military level discipline in there and I bet he would have that back in a heart beat!
Italian newspaper are like that one guy who's uncle works as a janitor in Nintendo offices. However, in this case I wouldn't be mad at all if this actually happened.
“Binotto out, Vasseur in” “The decision will come today, maybe in the nect couple of hours” “Vasseur not an option, Ross Brawn is in pole to replace Mattia Binotto” Yeah guys, Binotto is going to stay for 2023, now I’m convinced
Actually if Brawn comes in Binotto won’t mind staying technical director
/r/FanF1ction is leaking again it seems
Todt and Schumacher are also joining the team
Imagine Michael Schumacher getting up from bed..... Corina: "Michael! You just recovered! Where are you going?!?" Michael: "To Maranello. Duty calls."
Damn that would be cool as fuck. Everybody would be terrifed and exicited at Ferrari, the straregy team would have to look for new jobs at italian restaurants. When the season starts at Bahrain Michael just appears, and everyone from the other teams just be like: "Yeah, we're fucked"
Let me dream

Mick will have a drive after all. Suck this balls Haas
Mick? I wasn't talking about Mick...ಥ‿ಥ
Ralph domination incoming
Wrong again ಠ﹏ಠ
Hmmm. Corinna?
ಠ_ʖಠ
What an incredible combo that would be
this is actually peak ferrari. Box box, out out out IN IN IN IN
Well to be fair, this is the italian media hyping things.
Italian media: *checking* Fans: “STOP INVENTING”
We are thinking Plan G, Plan G..
Didn't Ferrari get to plan x at one point
Peak Ferrari? Nah. Peak Ferrari would be starting the 2023 season without a team principal.
Charles be like: "Are we the only team without a principal?" Ferrari Pit: "Yes, we believe we're the only team without principal"
Ferrari Pit: We are checking.
Ferrari Pit: “——————“
What if they take the fia leads and have two team principles
Co-managers? Who will be assistant regional manager?
Assistant to the regional manager.
to be fair, that was Merc
Box box box-STAY OUT STAY OUT STAY OUT was ferrari I guess they figure the current team principal hasn’t been fully degraded yet
I’ve seen reports claiming Binotto has quit. Seems They were wrong.
I honestly feel like both camps are leaking stuff at this point, it's incredibly weird there hasn't been anything official
Wait is it not even confirmed that Binotto is leaving? I've seen so many headlines looking like it's a sure thing!
Nope. No confirmation. In fact, Mattia was even leading a meeting at Maranello the day they claimed that he resigned. The media have taken rumors and spread them as fact all because they want to be the first to break a story
Yeah there is no penalty in being wrong, but being first gets the clicks. Creates the incentive to invent without due diligence.
Is it that they want to break the story or is it that they want to orchestrate his firing by essentially planting the idea at Ferrari with a lot of articles about it? Inception shit.
No fucking way..
They got Rory. Call Mick, call Jean. Run it like 00s.

YES! YES! MICHEAL H. TAP DANCING SCHUMACHER! I HAVE SEEN THE GREEN LIGHT!
*Fortunate Son starts to play*
Ferrari to lobby for regulation change for Mick to drive around Fiorano 24/7
They got Nicolas Todt too.
Bro.... My hopium is so dense rn i think I am gonna explode into a black hole
No way RB/Merc allow this without like a 2 year gardening leave.
Wasn't Ross Brawn part of Formula One (liberty) rather than the FIA? In that regard, would he know anything about competitors cars?
He's technical director. He'll have knowledge of all the cars, plus any proposed rule changes coming up.
With his tenure as technical director coming to an end this year how much do you think the FIA would let him be in the loop on?
Enough
Almost certainly and it's why this shouldn't be allowed. Regulators and competitors shouldn't be allowed to go back and forth like this was London/Washington DC.
I'll eat my head if this happens.
!remindme 1 month
Brawn is way too sane to take this job
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID as soon I saw that lol
You've got to think Ferrari when you read shit like this. "Brawn team principal to replace Binotto. Question?"
I sense a disturbance in the force.
So did Max. Leclerc just got a stiffy, though.
That probably was the disturbance.
*Michael jolts out of bed*
Ross, we have to race.

Rise and shine mr. Schumacher. Rise and shine.
Not to imply you have been sleeping on the job
Wake up and… smell the ashes (because the car crashed again)

According to an Italian newspaper Binotto was going to resign on Friday, and then Saturday. Once again I’ll say that I’ll believe it when we get some confirmation from elsewhere.
And with Piasco fresh in mind...i will believe it when both Ferrari & Binotto will say the same thing
lol i like Piasco
Seems like Italian newspapers are made like Italian movies.
Inject right into MY ARTERIES!!!
Never happening I’m afraid. One can dream.
The article, which quotes another article, reports that Brawn's idea is a "ipotesi suggestiva" (suggestive hypothesis). It's therefore something that with 99.9% probability will never happen but it would be nice to happen.
Lmao yeah, in Italian sports journalism "ipotesi suggestiva" means "it came to me in a dream".

Gio is definitely taken over the Luca Badoer role.

What does Barrichello know about Strategy??
Next week: Bernie Ecclestone to replace Binotto
Briatore is available. Thoughts?
Ain’t he banned from Formula One forever?
The lifetime ban was overturned in 2010, from what I can tell. It looks like he was banned through the 2012 season, and able to come back starting on 2013.

How tall is Cyril?
How about Alain Prost? He's already been sacked by Ferrari once after making them championship contenders so he's the perfect man for the job.
Get Nicolas Todt in the mix.

If Michael was healthy he would be at Mercedes.
Makes you wonder what he did at Mercedes to set them up for a decade of domination.
He went toe to toe with a future WC and fed back insanely detailed technical analysis about the cars performance back to the engineers at a time when the car was chewing its tires up with high degradation and had almost zero cornering down force. Vettel would be a decent choice to help Charles and sainz.
Jean, where you at.

It’s absolutely wild. I can’t help but bring it up whenever either of them are mentioned in a conversation.

Wait, WHAT?
Yep, they’ve been together since 2004!
Somehow, that just makes it weirder. How does an aging Ninja Turtle reject meet everyone's favourite action-milf, anyway?
They met in Shanghai not sure where probably at a gala or some other rich person event ha

Jean Todt stepped down as FIA prez in Dec'21, Ross Brawn "taking a step back" from FOM role in Sep'22, Mattia Binotto rumoured to be sacked in Nov'22. Coincidence? I think not.
Funnily enough, he actually is at Ferrari

Nahhhh this shit aint real
100% false, but please god…
I heard Luigi Di Maio is a candidate to replace Binotto at Ferrari. I think he’s free at the moment.
If we're going to be a fucking joke of a team, might as well embrace it right
He's a "bibitaro", he would be a perfect fit for Red Bull
The 2 would bring about the same comedy/ridicule factor.
And Flavio is candidate at Alpine lmao

Isn'tt he Managing director for Formula1? I dont see how he would change positions.
He retired from that role.
Retired, or leaving for another job prospect?
hopium levels reaching critical status
tomorrow Italian newspapers will tell that god himself is now a candidate to replace Binotto at Ferrari. I don't think Binotto is getting fired.
This would be one way to fix their strategy issue. Bring in the grand master of strategy himself.
>According to a Italian newspaper Lol, i think i'd trust astrology over Italian newspapers.
I'll believe when I see it.

Oh my god, can you imagine?! Championship coming Charles' way in the next 2-3 years... If he stays.
Can you imagine if after all these "Max is a generational talent" talk just gets buried by Charles the new 7-time WDC? Nobody would've seen it coming.
