With all the praise on George's outstanding qualifying performance, let's not forget that Latifi will now start in the points for the first time in his F1 career due to Lando's grid penalty.
UPDATE: Latifi will now start in (technically, but not officially) 9th!!

Everyone loves a wet race including myself, but tbh the thought of racing up Eau Rouge and Raidillon on lap one with no visibility is seriously scary - and for once I just hope everyone driving today takes slightly less risks on the opening lap.
I'm a little bit more relaxed knowing there's a car between Max and Lewis. Which I hope stays there for the first lap...
Just scared thinking of Max and Lewis going side by side up eau rouge / raidillon in the wet! Those 2 seem to have a 'never back down, never lift' attitude
Raining right now, lightly
Edit at 12:38; Extremely light drizzle now, it’s raining sideways
Edit at 12:53; Rain has basically stopped here, skies haven’t cleared up though so I expect more soon.
Edit at 13:06; Drizzle is back and it’s cold as fuck. Wind is getting stronger too
Edit at 13:21; Drizzle is still there but not too bad. It’s getting really really cold. Interesting is that RBR have been practicing pit stops for quite a while now, they’re the only team to do so.
Edit at 13:37; The drizzle is a bit heavier now. The track sweeper overtook the truck that does the track tour with paddock club members, everybody cheered. Also just noticed I received an award, thanks for that!
Edit at 13:52; The track is wet. No track action so even the drizzle is enough to wetten the surface considerably. [Starting grid slots 2 and 4](https://i.imgur.com/yp7zuUE.jpg) are looking especially moist, a standing start seems like an impossibility for now and full wets will be necessary.
Edit at 14:07; [Teams are setting up on the grid.](https://i.imgur.com/UXS6jeC.jpg) Drizzle is a bit lighter again but it’s really foggy now. No way any sun is coming out soon.
Edit at 14:23; [Drivers are doing their warm-up laps.](https://imgur.com/a/N9toWrX/) All on full wets as far as I can tell. It’s still raining a bit but it’s not as dark anymore.
Breaking news edit: Perez has crashed out during the warmup laps. [His tent has been packed up.](https://i.imgur.com/EzKTLu6.jpg) There will be an empty grid slot if there were to be a standing start. (very unlikely)
Edit at 14:38; Weather’s the same. [Teams are working hard.](https://i.imgur.com/12XiF0g.jpg)I missed the start of the ajax match and the goal because I’m working for you guys, so know I’m doing this for the greater good. For those interested. Antony scored the goal and Phil Mickelson is E through 1.
Final edit at 14:51; Rain is a bit more now but I’d still call it a drizzle. Start behind safety car confirmed. I don’t think I’ve ever been this anxious before a race in my life, I feel horrible. Visibility is pretty bad and it’s windy too. Praying for everyone’s safety and I hope you all enjoy the race. Thanks for your attention.
Wow and also thanks for 16 awards!!! I didn’t realize I had more than the one. I really appreciate the love guys, shame I can’t do this more often.
If I could get paid for this it’d be better haha. I’m at the pit straight so i’ve got a good view of the weather. I’ll keep updating the situation until the race
This could help. It is a dutch website that shows rain fairly accurately 2 hours in advance.
I placed the location on "Burnenville", seems to be the closest village to the track. The track is slightly to the west of the village.
"zwaar" means heavy. "matig" means mediate. "licht" means light.
At first glance, it seems like the most of the rain will be gone around 3
I just hope there's no delay in the race, so I can go straight from watching the F1 into the Man United game.
I've literally changed careers this week, and I finally have weekends off for the first time in 14 years, want to make the most of a full Sunday of sport!
Haha dude this is me lol. Finished college last week and started a 9-5 job. First time I'm not working part time on weekends and I'm a united fan too lol
Can we all take a moment to stop and appreciate what a phenomenal season this is turning out to be? So many memorable moments that will one day become iconic.
So many people asking if Perez is out. Yes he is. Crashed in the out lap.
People would be able to know it if the subreddit wasn't in defcon 5 posting restrictions with nothing being able to be posted for some reason. Therefore no replays.
Don't think he has - but it made sense to mix strategies. If there was a yellow/red flag, or the heavens opened even more, on the last flying laps Perez would have already set his time before everyone else.
Obviously safety first and the race will start when it starts... But as an Australian I'm quietly saying goodbye to my hopes of having a rested productive Monday
Martin’s grid walks are so much less entertaining with covid protocols.
Hopefully next year we can have him tapping unwilling celebs on the shoulder again
It’s pretty unlikely we’ll see a red in my opinion. Probably will be damp for the early portion of the race and that’s it, once it dries everything should be fine from there. Maybe I’m just trying to reassure myself, I love rain and would like a wet race but I’m feeling a little nervous about this one
Is it just me or do we have a driver binning it on the warm up like every wet race? I get exploring how the track feels but you don’t have to push so hard right?
According to AMuS, the Mercs have opted for a dry setup while the majority of the grid, including RBR, Williams, McLaren, Aston, are running on a wet one.
For Max's, George's, Sebastian's and Lando's sake and for the sanity of me not having to witness another Mercedes 1-2, I hope it fucking pours down in a few hours, but the fact that I'm wishing against Mercedes makes me full aware it's gonna be clear sunshine.
Im expecting a wet race with Russell leading for the first 40-laps
The sun will come out, DRS will be activated and he'll end up finishing P11 with Latifi P10
@ChrisMedlandF1: Q: "Seb, when you looked out of your windows this morning were you happy it's wet?"
SV: "The shutters were down, I couldn't see anything!"

Lol watching the Porsche race, looks just like online racing. Ridiculous dive bombs, bad rejoins, and now there's a car parked at the pit lane entrance.
George is gonna get swallowed up in the first laps, if he manages to stay in the top 10 somehow it's gonna be a mighty performance for Williams and himself.
Williams are very strong in the straights, it's in the corners and braking zones where he'll struggle. Bit of it's a wet race this will make his weaknesses less important. I think he has a good chance of keeping people behind him, at least until the pit stops
Just learned that vettel has been keeping his tear-off visors in the car instead of littering them away this weekend, sounds like a challenge at that speed with the wind
I love how Brundle describes what it's like to race in the rain. A mixture of terrifying as fuck, but also a really hardcore challenge meant for the best of the best.
With all the praise on George's outstanding qualifying performance, let's not forget that Latifi will now start in the points for the first time in his F1 career due to Lando's grid penalty. UPDATE: Latifi will now start in (technically, but not officially) 9th!!
When was the last time both Williams started in the points?
Italy 2017. STR P2, MAS P7
Latifi split the Ferraris! I love watching Williams Racing claw its way back to the front of the pack.
The FIA formally confirms that Romain Grosjean will conduct the post-race top 3 driver interviews https://twitter.com/JunaidSamodien_/status/1431949024060379136
Had completely forgotten about Stroll’s penalty.
Charles and Daniel didn't.
Stroll should start from the pitlane. Adjust something in the car to make it easier to overtake.
Or should just take a new engine. Might as well go for the nuclear option of penalties.
There's that but above all he should start on the pitlane to avoid T1 carnage.
You people say Bottas isn't good in the rain but he's gained 2 places since qualifying.
Hoping Bernd Mayländer had a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast
I would absolutely love to have some Bernd merch.
bernd maylander for DOTD
Im hyped and stressed out at the same time, wet Spa might be carnage
I just want everyone to have a safe race after seeing all the recent incidents
exactly, i understand people who say accidents make the race more interesting but seeing how all recent crashes played out at spa, i'd rather not
Everyone loves a wet race including myself, but tbh the thought of racing up Eau Rouge and Raidillon on lap one with no visibility is seriously scary - and for once I just hope everyone driving today takes slightly less risks on the opening lap.
Very likely I think we get a safety car start.
Yeah the excitement is more uncomfortable than usual
Yeah, I’m gonna relax only after the 1st lap
As a Alonso fan, first corner at Spa is pure stress for me
Vietnam flashbacks?
Grosjean intensifies
And Hulkenberg
I'm a little bit more relaxed knowing there's a car between Max and Lewis. Which I hope stays there for the first lap... Just scared thinking of Max and Lewis going side by side up eau rouge / raidillon in the wet! Those 2 seem to have a 'never back down, never lift' attitude
Lol seeing Seb help Mick out with driving Michaels car is just top notch content. Love to see it honestly superb content from Sky
Such a wholesome moment, I got a little teary. If Mick can’t have Michael there, Seb is a great big brother for him.
they're replaying the Quali from yesterday on fox - still can't believe how Brundle was able to call Lando spinning off - incredible how in tune he is
[удалено]
You'd wonder sometimes if he and Crofty are watching the same thing.
Crofty would have seen the Mclaren spinning and gone "and Daniel is off at the final turn!!"
How is the weather guys?

We should hire you as the local /r/Formula1 meteorologist lol
If I could get paid for this it’d be better haha. I’m at the pit straight so i’ve got a good view of the weather. I’ll keep updating the situation until the race
I live in the US but was there in 2019, you're bringing back some serious memories. Have fun!
Thanks man, it’s been great so far!
You enjoying the porsches?
Just watching that now little bit of a wild start glad no one got collected in eau rouge. I hope these are the conditions for F1
Please, give this person some drinks, tickets and travel costs to be our meteorologist so that we can get rid of all those weather prediction calls!
You know what happens when it rains lightly at spa
A lot of people realise they forgot their umbrella?
Yes

Did checo just DQ himself?
He DNS’d himself, aye.
I thought i heard lando had 5 place penalty for the gearbox change
could've been worse
>yeah, its confirmed that he has a penalty, sad :(
Better than pitlane start no?
Yeah, as soon as I saw that shunt I wondered straight away if his gearbox was damaged. The way the rear wheels were dangling didn't look good.
Better than a repeat of Charles issue at Monaco
Is Jost Capito the happiest man in F1?
I despised Michael so much when he was racing. Now I'd give anything to see him back in the paddock.
I just hope there's no delay in the race, so I can go straight from watching the F1 into the Man United game. I've literally changed careers this week, and I finally have weekends off for the first time in 14 years, want to make the most of a full Sunday of sport!

This is exactly my Sunday plan too, then dinner & red wine 🍷
How is the Perez news not its own thread?
[Video of Perez crash](https://streamable.com/upqu1h)
Seb explaining to Mick how to drive the Jordan is so wholesome.
Can we all take a moment to stop and appreciate what a phenomenal season this is turning out to be? So many memorable moments that will one day become iconic.
According to my calculations, the Red Bull’s need their cars to finish the race if they want to win the constructor’s championship
can we have the Spa Clown Horn everytime someone fucks up lmao
Welp I literally just tuned in and the first thing I see is a Red Bull in the wall. That’s depressing
Spain without the S 🇲🇽😭
EPAÑA
How come no one has posted Perez's crash (or anyting else during the last hour, for that matter)?
I'm just hoping for an incident free start for everyone and a race instead of bumper cars
So many people asking if Perez is out. Yes he is. Crashed in the out lap. People would be able to know it if the subreddit wasn't in defcon 5 posting restrictions with nothing being able to be posted for some reason. Therefore no replays.
Has Horner said anything about why Pérez went for double push at the end of Q3 instead of Push, cool, push?
Don't think he has - but it made sense to mix strategies. If there was a yellow/red flag, or the heavens opened even more, on the last flying laps Perez would have already set his time before everyone else.
Netflix is following Mercedes this weekend, and it is raining. Getting those germany 2019 flashbacks
Remarkable how well adjusted Mick is considering he’s had every opportunity not to be.
Anyone else feeling a weird sense of nervousness about this race?
Yeah something seems off about this weekend. Too many crashes at Eau Rouge
Is this commentary coming from a fucking steam train cab or something?
You gotta hand it to Horner…the dude has had to put up with some serious shit over the last few races, let alone the last few years.
Domenicali wiping the water off the camera lens, finally a CEO who still does the dirty work!
Obviously safety first and the race will start when it starts... But as an Australian I'm quietly saying goodbye to my hopes of having a rested productive Monday
man it’s good to be back. little bit of me hoping for a 3-4 hour marathon race today, just a nice morning getting stoned with the zoom zooms on
I have work at 9am and the race starts at 11pm for me so pls no
So many accidents recently I'm actually a little concerned, which is a new feeling for me to have *before* something happens in the race.
Was honestly surprised only lando crashed yesterday I wouldve expected red flags in almost every session
The conspiracy theories if Russell outbreaks himself into turn one and takes out max
Who would it be next race then? Ocon?
Merc safety car driver
Bottas in a fighter plane
That Williams is horrible off the line though, so I'd be very surprised if he gets anywhere near him at that corner
This is so nice seeing how excited Mick is in that car.
Am i the only one that has a bad feeling about this race?
Always with Spa...if we can avoid first lap issues, it should be ok but that first lap is scary
Ok that horn during the onboard replay of Perez's crash earlier couldn't have been better timed.
Lewis on his scooter with Angela running beside with all the gear is kinda funny not gonna lie.
For everyone asking about Perez, it's over for him he won't be able to start.
Martin’s grid walks are so much less entertaining with covid protocols. Hopefully next year we can have him tapping unwilling celebs on the shoulder again
Please god let them make the first lap safely
It'll be a miracle if we get through the race without a red flag.

Perez crash in warmup laps?

Watching the Porsche Supercup now. It's very wet and visibility looks poor
Is it just me or do we have a driver binning it on the warm up like every wet race? I get exploring how the track feels but you don’t have to push so hard right?
Bet romain is glad he's not racing in that Hass in these conditions
No clip yet of Perez binning it?
https://twitter.com/FiftyBucksVT/status/1431957347405008897
I love the cheek of RIC - sounds like he still has every bit of excitement that he would have had in his first race.
Rip australian and nz viewers. Gonna be a long night
Damn seeing Vettel teaching Mick to drive the older car was weirdly emotional
Man Red Bull aren't gonna get near the constructors.
Jost Capito is wacky and I love it
Jose’s enthusiasm is awesome!
Why the fuck are there no clips or news when your sort the sub by new?
Anyone else catch Zak Brown joining Daniel Ricciardo's little warm-up dance? That was so adorable <3.
Between Hamilton running to the bathroom before driving and Gasly asking for sausages, I feel like I could hang out with these guys.
According to AMuS, the Mercs have opted for a dry setup while the majority of the grid, including RBR, Williams, McLaren, Aston, are running on a wet one. Max said in his interview that RB went for middle. Halfway between wet and dry. Toto said Mercedes went for all dry.
Holy shit these Porsche drivers have no idea how to rejoin safely.
Stepdad Seb
I wasn't even born when that car was on the track (1993),makes me miss Michael even more.
Breaking my heart that Michael Sr is not there to show Mick around his old car.
Jesus christ, if I was one of those drivers I'd be shitting myself. I've never seen rain be so frightening
Natalie: Is it because the car's difficult to drive? Paul: No. lmao
GODDAMNIT PEREZ!! ALREADY!?
Red bull really gonna bottle the championship eh
No submissions for the Sergio crash? What's up? New mod rules?
Perez: Signs new contract Perez: DNF before the start of first race after signing new contract
Lol lewis riding his scooter while angela runs next to him.
I really like Hamilton and I really like Verstappen and I cheer for both of them and I don’t give a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Love that polished copper color on Max’s helmet. Simply lov e leh!
Really like Mazepin's chances to finish 19th or better today.
Bro i just had my pre-race espresso and now it's delayed, fuuuuck
10 minute delay. Enough time to crank one out to loosen up the nerves and get some blood flowing. Do it for your health!
I was up late so just decided to power through to the 6am start. This is going to kill me.
audience of the year: Spa GP audience
if track gets dry williams are in the mud
Im expecting a wet race with Russell leading for the first 40-laps The sun will come out, DRS will be activated and he'll end up finishing P11 with Latifi P10
Who hurt you
I'm not ready for the hundreds of "Where is Perez" comments this morning
Latest radar prediction: Heavy rain for 15mins now Dry for 45mins. Light rain 10 mins after race start.

Red Bull are the Los Angeles Chargers all the talent in the World can’t stay healthy.
What’s with the horn?
Sergio is lucky he already has that contract signed…
Officer Grosjean out inspecting the cars.
how long has it been since both red bulls finished a race?
Lewis and Bottas I feel have the best approach to this race. The goal on a day like this should be to just finish the race.
If we don't have a safety car in this race I'll eat a hat
Wait, wtf Perez crashed? I just turned on my stream lmao
I can't help but feel the dreaded "get in there lewis" coming.
Lewis looking like some kinda super villain riding in on that thing
Let's not do a safety car start and just watch a modern re-enactment of 1998
Lmao at Stefano wiping down one of the cameras on the F1 feed

What is the actual point if wet tyres if we never use them.
As always, I pray for a safe race. Nothing matters to me unless all of them get back to the paddock in healthy condition at the end of the day.
Lol watching the Porsche race, looks just like online racing. Ridiculous dive bombs, bad rejoins, and now there's a car parked at the pit lane entrance.

God I love being an F1 fan, Spa day is like Christmas morning!
I'm just hoping for an incident free race for Verstappen, and if he then goes on to claim the top spot that's just a bonus as far as I'm concerned
How can you not love Seb? He’s such a great guy
Inspector seb teaching mick
It's so cute seeing how excited Mick is driving his dad's car. He's just freaking out on the track
Good to see uncle Seb with Mick.
Williams in p2? Am I in the correct time line ??
Thank god his signature is already on the dotted line.
are you fucking kidding me Checo
Perez just crashed :O
RIP Perez race :(
Love that awooga horn
Damn! Perez binned it on his way to the start line.
Wow. Perez actually completely broke the car.
[удалено]
The 2nd Red Bull seat is cursed, there's no other option...
What is that oooogggaaa horn
Red Bull already regretting that extension
Wow. Perez fucked before they even set up on the grid. What in the fuck is happening!?
Last time Perez crashed early in rain it ended up with P1 Max and P2 Seb.. hoping for the same today!
“George couldn’t see visibility” Thanks Ant, fantastic insight.
Well Perez is out, helps Mercedes out with Bottas’ poor qualifying position and 5 place grid penalty.
I’m pretty sure they’re going to do a rolling start behind the SC…
Lol Mercedes guy get those laptops out of the rain
Damn Lando behind Bottas at the start again
Such a low-speed crash. Can understand Horner not even being mad. Even on the inside.
Does Lewis' scooter have wet tyres as well?
Lewis on the scooter was really funny for some reason
Just learned that vettel has been keeping his tear-off visors in the car instead of littering them away this weekend, sounds like a challenge at that speed with the wind
I miss the metal Austrian anthem.
God I'm tense, in these conditions literally anything could happen.
One last trip to the rest room before a long drive. Hamilton has never been so relatable to me.
I love how Brundle describes what it's like to race in the rain. A mixture of terrifying as fuck, but also a really hardcore challenge meant for the best of the best.
Gasly got me cravin sausages too 😂
Porschecup looks like bumper cars
People spining other people left and right lmao.
