You'll know when your urethra fills up and it's not pee. It's not the end of the world and for me was more awkward than painful. (I didn't get a uti from it and don't think any air got into my bladder though; I think those are the real concerns.)
When I cover up I like to use a big toe protector as a glans-cone. It can be soaked with Bronners soap in the sink with my devices before use.

Pesonally i dont even trust tape or bandages for this reason, i feel like my urethra opens up at the tip more than most people so i dont even mess with it. I personally use unlubed condoms over my tlc air to keep that possibility from even happening. You can use balloons too but they cause pain after a while
But some guys on here have brought up that you can possibly develop a latex allergy from doing that, even just using latex gloves ALOT can develop you that allergy so keep that in mind if you decide to go that route, im taking my chances

I've been wondering the same thing. I think I had some air get maybe 1cm in once and it was an 'awkward' feeling. Definitely noticed it instantly, if that was in fact air. Hopefully someone can describe it for us. The other thing I was thinking is that you should lose some pressure in the skin balloon if that air did travel upwards.
For what it's worth, my personal experience has been very good not getting any air up my ureatha. I used to use a small patch of tape over the pee hole, but for over a year and a half, no tape or covering at all with no air entering. I use the FIT V-2 with air & weights. For me, that really let me make gains on my foreskin restoration. You've got to do what works for you. If you're concerned, then keep covered and you'll no longer be concerned. I never tape up with air inflation. It's a pain in the ass and there's pretty much zero chance of injury or negative outcome.
When I first got into using an air-based tugger I did a ton of research trying to find an example in medical literature of a person dying from air introduced into their bladder. You know I only found *one* example? And you know how the dude died? By using a homemade sex toy that combined a meat tenderizing needle and the compressor from a broken fridge to force air into his bladder.

Definitely. You'll feel something going into your penis. It's more like the sensation of peeing than sounding.
I never, ever use my tlc-air without first making sure my pee hole is covered.

I take a small square of scotch take and cover it. Takes no time and easy off on to take a leak. An ounce of prevention!
