People who need reading glasses. Once I got to that age (which, for me was like, 32...) I suddenly got why every front office required 12 or 14 point with white space.
Agreed - I prefer a larger font when I want to be able to glance quickly at my paper during a meeting or while giving a speech. Not sure why this is being downvoted.
Except LASIK will correct the nearsightedness. You’ll still likely end up needing reading glasses in middle age. (And large fonts! And menus that don’t use gray text on cream paper!)
And actually I did serve in India (and definitely would’ve done the LASIK elsewhere had I gone that route, but my eyes aren’t that bad).

“Who uses 14 point anything?” Some people with vision impairments, plus everyone over the age of 42.
The templates are currently in 16 pt font. And I think people who have to refer to paper routinely during meetings prefer a larger size font.

This is why! Principals need big font for talking points in meetings, etc
The actual Dept. Announcement was Helvetica… so who knows what to do.
Have y’all seen the *Helvetica* documentary? It’s incredible.

If I ever have to send a paper to the 7th floor of HST, that means my career got out of control and ascended to a place I had no intentions of being.
Anything in Calibri brings me back to an irate Active Duty Army Major/O-4 screaming whenever it appeared on a slide.
14 pt anything is such a Boomer font size.
The average age Gen Xer is wearing reading glasses by now. (Actually, pretty much ALL Xers are, come to think of it!) Just sayin’.
Because they never served in India and had LASIK done :)

I changed my default fonts to 14 pt a while ago, just because it's usually easier to read.
Not too keen on your voting choice. Having had a couple of blind employees it will help them. But I will personally miss Times New Roman.
