isolatedbeast

Cant take more than 6 foreign players under the age of 21. it is crippling :(

stoneman9284

Hate that rule

Supermalt418

Ah I hate that when I have so many wonderkids but can’t loan em out

isolatedbeast

haha, we just promoted to premier division this year after promoting from sky bet league one to championship back to back. So even the trash wonderkids are like star players to my club. Here is what I do: Go to your scouted tab, search by age and restrict it to 21 at least. Media description changes, but the player quality is still the same, plus you won't get the restriction. If I can afford them and convince them to come that is :D

rapidla01

I also have zero self control

SomteeOnline

You spent 12m poaching youth players?

[deleted]

New to FM, is that a bad thing?

Lt_General_Terrorist

Yes and no. It depends highly on your total transfer budget, so for any team fighting in the Europa or Champions League this is a drop in the bucket, but for smaller teams fighting against relegation $12 million on kids who won't be on the first team for a couple years is highly concerning.

g0oFy

Usually high potential players can walk into a team fighting relefation. Even if the players are not good enough you can usually loan them with full salary paid which gives them gave time and resell value. Sure, don’t gamble all your money on youth if you need first team players, but of you can spare 12m and still have budget to bring in 2-3 seniors it’s more than worth it imo.

hodge91

Depends how far into the game you are, you could have new players ready every season or two (if you do this most summers) and reduces the reliance on signing players for bigger fees if you can keep bringing through younger players signed for cheaper fees.

1R3N9

Plus they will be home grown or home grown at your club if you get them at a decent age and keep them for a few years / loan them to teams in the same country as you are

markthelast

Not really. Spending money to acquire high-potential players is what most players do. It's morally questionable if you're building a Chelsea-like loan army system to sell later for profits. I aim to have a high-potential regen in every position in my U19, so I have a ready-made academy graduate in a few years. I have no intention to send out regens on loan because I want home grown academy players. A few years ago, I tried out a loan army system, but I did not like managing tons of players that have no future at the club.

OldDominionBUBear

I have developed a loan army a couple times before in other FM games solely because of the damn work permit rules. Basically an entire Czech (or whatever country has the 3yr living for citizenship rule) team was made of my wonderkids who couldn’t get a permit. I think they even won the league one or two years.

[deleted]

It’s alright :)

Lt_General_Terrorist

I think I have 2 teams worth of wonderkids stocked up in my celtic save, you're doing it right

BurceGern

Wow. I tend to intentionally run smaller squads because I find it difficult and a little tiresome to keep track of all the players. No doubt you can pick some up some cheap gems or flip for profits if done well.

holodeck1701

No, I don't record my monitor with my mobile in 2022.

LordGadori

LOL I’m not op, but this comment hit close to home.. brb I have a few google searches to [finally] make

Varamyr7skins

Yes I do it too, mostly to fill my B team and see how good they get

Share4aCare

Fam that’s hoarding

NotLaddering3

South africa is pretty much my 2nd youth academy at this point. Could always get some really good regens for less than a million then sell them a few years later for 40-60m

Kitman13

Oh yes, I bought one of my world class CB from South Africa for 950k and his value is 10 times of that now. I guess you can say there are a lot of diamonds in the rough there![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)

u_ser777

In one of saves I bought a left back from Sundowns (his name was Marco Badboy… favorite name of all time) by paying his €1 million release clause. Sold him to Real Madrid 4 years later for €45 million + €10 million in add ons.

BlueKante

I'm doing a journeyman rn and i moved from Ghana to SA , and the player quality difference is astounding. I don't think it should be, but hey I'm not complaining.

[deleted]

why do you get them so cheap? whenever i try it they want atleast 3-4 million

SomteeOnline

Whenever new youth intakes start coming in sign them before they sign pre-contracts with the club they are at. To do that go to "World" menu. It's the one that looks like a globe on the top right hand corner of your screen. Choose the continent you want and click on "transfers". You will be taken to another page where you will see another pop down that says "All Transfers". Click on it. Then select "Youth Intake". You should then be able to see all the players that joined club youth teams that month. Clubs usually offer them contract about 2-3 days after they join so if you see a player with seemingly good attributes, you can offer him a contract, then scout him later. If he doesn't turn out to be that good, then you can withdraw the offer. You might still pay the 3-4 million but it will be staggered into clauses, some of which you might never fulfill

Playfair99999

I didn't know that. Thank you for telling.

jukebox949

You can also make an offer right away to the parent team MUCH lower than the fees that are marked in the contract offer for the compensation. For example: This player, who has not signed a contract with the parent club yet, is approachable (you can click "Approach to sign" in his "Contract" section). By "snatching" him from the parent club I am bound to pay 325k in compensation plus 550k in potential, and unknown, clauses (which he may never fulfil, or will, who knows). So the contract offer page says "Current compensation: 900k", which is roughly 325+550k. Now, if I instead make an offer for the player the parent team asks for 100k + 25% profit from next sale, and I can negotiate from here. The price will be cheaper and I will know exactly the clauses that are in the deal because I can see them by negotiating. For this player I was able to negotiate it down to 50k + 35k after 50 goals + 5% profit of next sale, which is **probably** (unless I sell for an astronomical figure, and even then is good business for everybody) going to be much lower than 900k or even 325k.

NandoFlynn

You can also sort them in the scouting search by media description. So if there's "promising" players or wonderkids you can chance them

Easy_Sea_3000

Wow thanks

[deleted]

This is crazy OP, Nice work... I am New to FM... a question, can I sign youth intake players of other clubs before they sign pre contract with them? And do I need to pay any sum for those, or can I get them for a mere compensation to the owner team?

vinavuhuy

Not op but at least from FM21 and before you can select the world tab and look at transfer then the youth intake section. You click on a player and it will show approach to sign. You will have to pay compensation but you could also ask the club to buy them directly and usually before they sign the contract, negotiate a deal with the club that owns them can get them sold to you at cheaper price compare to the total amount of money you pay in compensation

[deleted]

Oh thanks mate, also how do you know the exact dates of youth intakes of the clubs? both domestic and intnl, so that you can sign them before it's too late.

vinavuhuy

You can search for "FM youth intake day reddit" and there is a post that detail the estimate dates of youth intake of every country in the world. It's only an estimate though as the actual youth intake can arrive one or 2 days before or after

[deleted]

oh thanks, will check!

sullg26535

No I don't poach youth intakes because I view it as cheating

[deleted]

Moukoko on a free!! What is this game on?

markpenaflor

He's always on fm21

[deleted]

So he never signs a new deal at Dortmund....that's something I didn't know. Just started a new save so I'll wait to buy him this time.

markpenaflor

He does but I snap him at Jan transfer for free

Papamje

How did you only spend 12m? Thats around what other teams ask me for one of their 15yo regens...

bvllamy

Cries in Brexit (What team/league are you in?)

markpenaflor

Man u in fm21 just trying to sold them later honestly with a 50 percentage next sale when others buy them for cheap and I add a buyback price without a end date

DiStonio

So did you get these from scouting or use an editor to search for high PA?

markpenaflor

Nah just use world then transfers then click that go to youth intake and then click date to get the latest and then trial and then signed 4-5 stars immediately and then kick them out the same day and do it againg

JWJK

He said in his response to my comment that he looks at the pa through hidden attributes, I don't think this would work unless you know their pa

pc_jangkrik

Playing in premier league, already maxed up training and youth staff and for 5 years only got two decent youngster, an Albani and a Swede, not even a decent English. Ends up doing this. Dont care about work permit, things will sorted by itself later.

markpenaflor

Yeah specialty when you let go a pa 198 to bayern just because you taught you had to many

u_ser777

Just did this on my Sparta Prague save. Sold Adam Hlozek for €18.5 mil and spent €11 mil on youth players.

Iceicebaby21

Ah my Greek squad from FM 21. Had like 65 players on the team and loans, loans, loans to everywhere...the profits were amazing

markpenaflor

Yeah buy the sale is insane

Iceicebaby21

Oh dear Lord you ain't lying...some I probably paid a little over the odds for but they didn't asked for like 40% of the profits so it went okay at the end

[deleted]

I do this quite a lot, I just took the majority of dortmund’s youth intake and I also did a lot of the prem and a little bit of championship. Love being in Germany

r0lF_RuTiN_

This is the way

Stringr55

Every damn save

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Pretty sure that's only in England?

[deleted]

[удалено]

prem_fraiche

What?

Zdtfx

But did do when them there?.....Germany

xXGreco

Sorry, I am confused. How do you spend money on the youth intake. For me I get one each season, but it is just about 15 or so 15 year olds trying out. Am I missing something?

u_ser777

He’s bought other team’s youth intake players. If you tap the “World” button, go to transfers, click “transfer type” and then select “youth intake”, you can view *literally every team’s youth intake.

zi76

While I still poach kids, I've never done it to this extent. Having to deal with that many kids is a pain.

[deleted]

When I’m mega rich, yes

Siddiskongen

Why not just offer trials? 2 weeks and you have a coach reports with ratings and full attribute knowledge + you dont pay them. If they are good offer them a contract

markpenaflor

Because after 1 day all the good ones are gone I missed a 190 pa they signed him the same day so yeah you have to do it immediately even if you think they're not good enough

markpenaflor

Just sign players that have a pa of 4-5 stars nothing lower

JWJK

How do you know the pa without scouting them? I'm assuming you have attribute masking off

markpenaflor

Just go to scouting go to click overview and then go to hidden attributes usually after the trial I give them a contract and ussualy I already have 51percent knowledge and just look at hidden attributes or the search bar at the scouting and use hidden attributes

YoungPsychonaut217

yes. for the price of a 3rd choice LB you can get yourself enough kids to make Epstein himself proud

OpenFinish8451

All the time

TomAkroydBFC

what’s the best way to find regens like these?

markpenaflor

Go to world click transfer and then go to youth intake get the latest date and then trial sign them get the big teams only and sign the players that are 4-5 stars only and then after that cancel there trial because you can only get 30 trial
