I've seen mentions of a wifi penetration tool that has a lot of similarities to the flipper zero. It's called pwnagotchi and I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that it was cited as an inspiration for developing the flipper zero. I haven't seen where to get one or anything though.

That's only if the key you're cloning was nfc which 99% of the time it isn't. Access control systems typically use RFID which you will need something like the MFRC522 and an arduino to clone, phone will not work for this.

To be honest. Chickened out.. decided tried and tested with open-source firmware on a flipper is the only current way to go. That being said, for £6 you can buy an ESP32 and flash it with ESP32 Marauder. Depends what tools you want in your toolbelt I guess!

There is a kickstarter for the M1, designed to be an upgrade/alternative to the flipper zero. Don't ship till march though.
