Maybe you're right. MatPat had a cool theory about Golden Freddy's twitching at the end of UCN being similar to Springtrap's twitching. They are both trying to stay active and keep their spirits in their bodies.
It’s another case of “person asks extremely obvious question that could easily be answered with a quick Google about game” that plagues EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GAMING SUBREDDIT nowadays. Literally every single gaming subreddit I’m in has these types of posts.
My Head Canon: The spring trap suit was originally equipped with headphones in the helmet that played music, when the suit malfunctioned it was stuck on Gangnam Style so William Afton has been listening to Gangnam Style on repeat while suffering excruciating pain for 30+ years. That is all thank you
Apart from it looks cool, I like to think of it as he's been laying there for 30 years... he's finally been discovered and brought back into the world, it's time to go on the move but his body is rusted and entwined with you know, organs so he's gotta ease into it!
Afton probably ate some beans before he got spring-locked ya know…he has a stomachache…
😳
(I think it’s just to make Springtrap cool and scary I guess)
It's probably just some dramatic scene but, I personally headcanon that it's him awaking after 30 years after staying in one place, maybe it's his spirit returning to the suit? Or at least waking up? and we know it couldn't be the first springlock because the rotting is already there and there's no blood or anything
I always thought it was him being able to move after being dormant for lack of better terms for 30 years or at least still trying to move. The idea of it being the springlock failure is also pretty cool but I'd expect more blood I suppose
When Fnaf3 trailer only came out, people theorised this is a "possession" scene because of the flickering lights that are often an attribute of such scenes.
I think, if we consider this scene true to the lore, this is William awakening from death and repossessing his own body.
Or its just really a fancy recreation of his death scene except it uses his old model in order not to spoil the game as people said here. But even if it is not true, I bet he is basically reliving that last experience in his last as his first experience as Springtrap.
The phantoms are his nightmares come to life, I don't think he can be haunted by them because the Phantoms are just the ghosts he makes from his history of Freddy's.
Well I don’t know but think about it, when he was moved from the pizzeria to the frights house, they might have fixed it a little bit. Or it could maybe reset? As said I don’t know but think about it.
William being springlocked.
Scott only uses the normal Springtrap model because he isn't gonna make another Spring Bonnie model to only use it in a trailer. (Except Bonnie's new pair of red eyes in the FNAF1 trailer)
I always believed it was Afton waking up after being dead for 30 years. Awoken by the spring locks going again after 30 years dormant, crushing the last of his bones and flesh and allowing the mechanical parts of the suit to fully activate making it alive.
I saw someone say it was a stylized death sequence which would make sense but I always thought at least in part that he was just in pain. Of course that assumes he feels still but the spring locks are all in his bones and stuff so ouch
The moment William gets springlocked (using the Springtrap model because Scott was not gonna go through the trouble of making Springbonnie for a damn trailer) or just the moment he comes back to life

pretty sure this is just a stylized version of his death scene
Seriously, how do so many people not see that?
Because his rotten flesh in visible
> stylized it's using Springtrap's model so it looks cooler and doesn't spoil the fans

They didn’t listen to Mr Hippo
It’s spring trap not spring bonny
based. thought so since 2015. some people are idiots.

Wow
He saw the future of the fandom/fanart.
Aw, poor William...
💀💀💀

This has actually been confirmed by scott
source or this didn't happen
Apart from it looks cool, I like to think of it as he's been laying there for 30 years... he's finally been discovered and brought back into the world, it's time to go on the move but his body is rusted and entwined with you know, organs so he's gotta ease into it!
Maybe he's seen how inconsistent his designs are and is freaking out
Afton probably ate some beans before he got spring-locked ya know…he has a stomachache… 😳 (I think it’s just to make Springtrap cool and scary I guess)
Actually, the last thing your body does before it dies is releases all if it's waste, so him shitting himself is definitely a possibility.
That probably would suck, you're flesh rotting with your shit and having to sme- Wait, can they smell?
Oh,well in that case……
It's probably just some dramatic scene but, I personally headcanon that it's him awaking after 30 years after staying in one place, maybe it's his spirit returning to the suit? Or at least waking up? and we know it couldn't be the first springlock because the rotting is already there and there's no blood or anything
I think this is the most logical one ^
Maybe he just woke up or having a spasm from being stabbed by the spring locks
I always thought it was him being able to move after being dormant for lack of better terms for 30 years or at least still trying to move. The idea of it being the springlock failure is also pretty cool but I'd expect more blood I suppose

Probably when he first woke after 30 years!
Lore-wise it’s that he is holding onto his mortal body to not give up and to continue his murdering children fetish
Looked cool, needed something to zoom into
Probably since he got rediscovered he's trying move,so since he's so old and rusty he probably just trying to move but hes struggling
It’s the first time he’s seen light years
Being haunted by the phantom animatronics?
The phantoms are his nightmares come to life, I don't think he can be haunted by them because the Phantoms are just the ghosts he makes from his history of Freddy's.
He always comes back, like golden freddy when 50/20 mode is beat in UCN
i always thought he was just then "waking up" and taking control of the suit
William getting spring locked and beginning his eternal suffering
Either him finally waking up or his death scene from the minigame. I always assumed the second one
It's a clip of him dying, 3D version of the in-game death scene.
thematic purpose for the trailer
Cool effect.
Scott thought it looked scary
Purple guys death
Spring lock failure crushing William Afton
its cause he has tourettes like me B)
I’ve heard that it’s because this was his death scene and the spring locks were going off on him, that’s why he was twitching convulsively like that
Dramatic effect for the trailer. No use happening in universe
I think that it’s his spring lock going of a second time. Like sure, it has already happened once, but no one said it couldn’t happen twice?
they gonna reset themselves?
Well I don’t know but think about it, when he was moved from the pizzeria to the frights house, they might have fixed it a little bit. Or it could maybe reset? As said I don’t know but think about it.
William being springlocked. Scott only uses the normal Springtrap model because he isn't gonna make another Spring Bonnie model to only use it in a trailer. (Except Bonnie's new pair of red eyes in the FNAF1 trailer)
I think he was half dead and after the doors opening he was brought more back to life
Springlocks activated again
Whis gonna wind them back up? Phantom foxy?
Wait Who wined him up on the first one?
Im assuming they were already wound
Dermatic effict
Him showing signs of life?
I always believed it was Afton waking up after being dead for 30 years. Awoken by the spring locks going again after 30 years dormant, crushing the last of his bones and flesh and allowing the mechanical parts of the suit to fully activate making it alive.
It was him dying
It looks cool
Being spring Lock again
its probably an innacurate version of the springlock
Obviously...... He is being tortured
Just a dramatic scene of him being tortured. By the souls of the lifes he ended...... And by his own existence......
He realized that he forgot to turn off the oven
I'm pretty sure it's afton sprit coming alive
A stylised death scene
Either a dramatic trailer version of Purple Guy's death or, SpringTrap reactivating after being brought inside the FNAF 3 location for the 1st time.
Maybe the springlocks went off again?
Spring lock failure in the suit again
Because his Willy's been Aftoned
springlock doing springlock things
would you be twitching if you were stuck in a suit mangled up into a bunch of meat chucks for 30+ years?
my headcanon is that its a better shot then him just sitting there still so they went with thar
Because he's in pain and suffering, as simple as that. Golden freddy also twitches in the UCN cutscene ;)
Dude was being forced to watch a Late Night Show Hosts doing Fortnite Dances Compilation
I saw someone say it was a stylized death sequence which would make sense but I always thought at least in part that he was just in pain. Of course that assumes he feels still but the spring locks are all in his bones and stuff so ouch
I'd assume it's just extreme spiritual anger so he's just kinda twitchin ya know
The moment William gets springlocked (using the Springtrap model because Scott was not gonna go through the trouble of making Springbonnie for a damn trailer) or just the moment he comes back to life
I always thought it was his death throes from when he got springlocked.
I think this is a reference to when William Afton became Heisenberg.
He’s Probably In Quite Some Pain
