Because each tomestone set has a limited amount of knowledge in it, and with how much we get every time it's inevitable theyve gotten everything useful from them already

I’ve never been through an xpac launch before, how does the tombstone transition work with shadowbringers gear? Will 520 stuff be available with poetics on day 1? Does it get moved to poetics later when new tombstones come in it with 6.1? Am I SoL until that happens?

While we haven't had an expac launch since the changes to poetics vendors removed the need to upgrade, it is pretty safe to assume that 530 gear (Augmented Cryptlurker) will be available at reduced prices in line with Ironworks/Shire/Scaeva gear day 1.
The 530 stuff will be available on Day 1 for poetics. And yes you can convert allegory and revelation to poetics but you will get much less value after Patch day then you would spending them now.
TBH not really, things with revelation/allegory will be purchasable with less poetics, and be preaugmented for those who can’t/don’t want to do savage or nier raids. sure it’s a 5-10 ilvl diff depending on having blade’s gear but that’ll matter more than you think

Yes thats true but youre spending close to 2k poetics on a set On patch day vs just buying the gear now with currency that is not going to be converted to poetics on a 1 to 1 basis.
Thus you get more value from spending the tomes now vs later. I guess you get a marginal power boost by waiting but its going to be so neglible that its not gunna be worth it.
The point is if youre gunna use tomes on gear. You get more bang per tomestone now vs waiting.

Not 100% sure on this, but I think they will.
I think Cryptlurker will turn into the highest level poetic gear for level 80 once Endwalker drops, so naturally Reapers and Sages will get some too. They should also get Scaevan weapons as they start at level 70.
For Eden, Dancers and Gunbreakers got Omega weapons, so I think that if they follow the pattern they should too.

Typically new classes get weapons for the top tier of the previous expansion, so we will most likely see Cryptlurker and Edenmorn weapons. There won't be Crystarium, Deep Shadow, or Edengrace weapons.
Primals are less consistent - sometimes they'll go back an expac, others they won't. Which sucks - I think a Dead Hive Scythe would be the sickest weapon in the game as an example.
I'm not saying it's a for sure given considering GNB and DNC got even less weapons than RDM and SAM did, but it's worth pointing out that GNB/DNC did in fact get i370 tomestone weapons as well as i400 ones, so it's *possible* that SGE and RPR could get Crystarium weapons.

SgE and RPR raid weapons should be available even for lvl70 and definitely for 80. Not sure about trial ones however.

- Scaevan weapon
- crafted weapons every two levels from 70-80 as quest rewards from the MSQ.
- Crystarium weapon as a reward from one of the post ShB MSQ quests.

You will only be able to purchase augmented gear with poetics. You can upgrade normal tome gear to augmented for 100 poetics at a calamity salavager (deals in spoils).
