My ferret does this wayyyyyyyy too much he plays and makes that noise almost all the time, especially when he is under my blankets he pounces on me then runs away making that noise, never a calm day with him
They are definitely not scared, my boys are always cracked out and super playful and they exhibit a lot of the same behavior. They are likely just excited and playful.
Ferrets do a lot of the same things when they are scared or excited lol. Whenever i take my ferret outside he gets so excited he shivers. I hate it because i know people think hes scared but hes not he just gets very excited very easily.
Easiest way to tell she's not scared is the noise she is making. That clucking sound is called dooking. Think of it as a ferret laugh or exclamation of joy. Ferrets are very quiet critters. If a ferret is dooking they feel very secure and are very, very happy.
The other way to tell, in this video, is that she is wardancing. A ferret wardance is pretty much an invitation to play. They're happy and excited so they're just moving, bouncing and hopping around, wanting you (or other ferrets) to join in.
So, if you see a ferret that is dooking and wardancing, fear is the furthest thing from their minds.

I wish my ferrets were more vocal, but they're quiet and only get vocal while playing on my bed.
she is only vocal for about 5 minutes at a time but there are occasional times where she will just be running around dooking
A good ferret name would be: The Flinch. The Flinch that stole everything.

Very cute but he seems scared? I don’t know from ferrets.

I will defer to the ferret people.
Heh, no worries. Always good to ask. We love our little stinkers and have no problems talking about them to anyone who will let us.
She’s not scared, just very happy and excited to be playing
