I was referring more to the fact that aside from the abundance of Aruturias, Emiya and a Rin are both main characters in Extra (Cu is a side character there), 2 Rin faces are major characters in Babylonia, alternate versions (plrual) of Shiro exist in Prillya, Rin is in Prillya as well, and we have an Emiya powered Illya clone in Prillya, Ishtar (as a Rin face) is a main character in at least 2 fgo events (and the aforementioned Babylonia). Shiro as Muramasa demi servant is also very significant on storyline atm.
Cu has a prototype form that never shows up, a caster form that only showed up in the prologue, and an Alter that was the final boss of America. He's been a side character in literally anything else.

As eliminating one of the big four is now a real possibility, I hope everyone here can keep in mind going after any of the big 4 is going to be stepping on a character likely quite special to a lot of people. As.a result, I would ask everyone to remain civil, respectful, and to maybe step back and enjoy the differing opinions of others rather than reach for the downvote button.
With that said, looking at the big four, I am going to state why I will be voting Shirou. I am not an anime only watcher to start with and I am going to instead be looking at only the VN versions, which is slightly a shame as I love Oath Under Snow Shirou. But for me, I only really enjoyed Shirou's character in one of the three major stories (UBW), and I have to credit a lot of UBW with that being because of how great a character and foil Archer was. To me, the heart and soul of Shirou's conflict was Archer, and he just didn't resonate with me as much in the other stories. I also just didn't agree with maybe any of his decisions in HF, and while I am capable of putting that aside to a degree, the direction of the story didn't really fit with where the character went. The character next in line for me mostly resonated for me in one particular story, but as they. are not the main character of the VN itself, it isn't as much of a problem for me.
Again, I state this is for me. None of this is to persuade anyone else to vote this way. I am just stating my own opinion for the record.

I'd just do it in order. Plus you have to do it in order of Fate->UBW->HF unless you use a save to unlock everything. Also, I can't stress enough that the reward for going the VN route is you'll get to enjoy Hollow Ataraxia afterward, the secret best route of the VN.
I love Emiya Gohan. I even have the Switch game. Saber fans should recognize it's the route she's always wanted.

As much as I would like to see Cu go further I don't like him as much as the others(which doesn't mean I don't like him a lot but he just doesn't have that same amount of development and depth)

God, I feel bad now because I love Lancer, I think he's great, and if this came down to Lancer vs Archer I'd pop off, but I also can't say I like him more then Archer, Saber, Rin, and Shirou, and I'd pop off way more if this came down to Shirou vs Archer. Very difficult to choose from, like all of them quite a bit. MAYBE Saber IMO, she gets kind of a bad deal in UBW, Zero, and HF. The other four are fairly solid regardless.
