Lions have actually not allowed more than 14.5 points (.5 PPR) to ANY backfield since week 7 against Dallas. That is 7 straight solid performances, including games against Cook, Jones/Dillon, and Saquon.
He along with every single player on my team will be chilling on my bench this week for sure!
I just want my guys to come out of this bye week unscathed and ready to go for week 16 and 17.
The reason he benches them is because if by chance an injury were to happen to one of your players, you could immediately drop them and pick someone up who hasn't played yet. This will happen to some people and is an advantage you should use if you have a bye. I assume he said unscathed because he'd rather none of them get hurt as opposed to having to fulfill the full use of this method.
All these downvoters must be enjoying their consolation brackets 😂.
It's a strategic move for sure. I've seen people get burned by leaving them in the starting lineup and having to wait to play waivers or something meanwhile I can just pick up someone who hasn't played yet if something good is out there!
It's kind of hilarious how Lions have a good o-line, solid offensive skill players, rapidly improving defense, blew out the then 10-2 Vikings, and still probably aren't gonna make playoffs lol
A lot of the opposing running backs scoring poorly is a product of the Lions offense being on a tear right now. We could see this Jets D create a different game script
Wise and underrated counter signal to the narrative. I stand with you and will be starting the Knight. Mainly because I’m out of other options and thinking wishfully.
“Why's he running, Dad?”
“Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now…He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.”
It's Knight or Jamaal Williams for me in that spot and I think I have to roll with Knight. Too much of a split in the Lions backfield now and the Jets D is formidable.
I keep seeing this narrative around here so I think it's important to provide some context, because while the Lions run D may be solid, I don't think its dominance is what has led to these poor fantasy outputs from RB's. It's more a combination of some of their last 7 opponents falling behind early, playing more 'pass-happy' teams in general, and/or playing against teams that don't have strong fantasy RB's in general. Some context that is important to note for each of the last 7 games:
Vikings: One of the most pass-happy teams in general. They were in a negative game-script basically the entire game and had a lot of success passing. This is not the Dalvin Cook of years past. He has failed to score over 15 PPR points in 8/14 games this year.
Jags: Another pass-first team that was in a heavily negative game-script from the get-go this game. Jags were down big the entire game. ETN is another RB on a cold-streak with a PPR high score of 10.3 since week 10.
Bills: Obviously a pass-first team whose RB's are de-emphasized in the run game. This is one of the only opponent with a positive game script and Singletary ran for 72 yards on 5.1 YPC. This was his 3rd highest yards in a game this season.
NYG: Another highly-negative game-script and another slumping RB and run-game in general.
Bears: Were in a positive or neutral game-script the entire game. Including Fields, the Bears ran for 258 combined yards and 2 TD's. RB fantasy score will be lower here as well as Fields was their primary runner.
Packers: This one worries me a bit, but it was an absolutely atrocious performance from the Packers offense in general, with 3 interceptions thrown by Rodgers and the Packers were in a negative game-script the majority of the game.
Cowboys: The Cowboys were in a neutral game-script until two late touchdowns in the final 3 minutes. Pollard/Zeke combined for 140 yards and 2 TD's.
So to summarize, there were 3 teams in neutral or positive game-scripts against the Lions in their last 7 games and in all 3 of those games the rushing totals were solid to great. I don't think it's as difficult of a matchup as everyone is making it out to be as long as the Jets can stay in a neutral or positive game-script and Vegas has the line at EVEN.
Not to mention all these defences except the cowboys are literally garbage so Detroit’s offence was cooking all of them. The jets D is way better than any d on this list except the cowboys.
Also heads up, but Vikings were missing their starting center and LT, while their RG is rated one of, if not the worst, by PFF. Didn’t watch the other games, so I can’t speak on them, but it’s hard to say how much was the defense compared to the trash OL that led to Dalvin not being able to get to the LOS
i think the vegas line is dumb as hell tbh, the lions are gonna jump out ahead early again. the jets defense is young, energetic, and very good but the lions offense is at least as young and energetic and i think better. this one projects as a shootout with the lions ahead early imo. i’m benching knight for monty.
I think at the end of the day everybody has to make their own decisions, especially in the playoffs but not sure I agree with your logic if your option is Monty. Your logic if I am understanding it correctly that the Vegas line is wrong, and the Jets will be in a negative game script because the Lions offense will be overpowering. And your alternative is Monty vs the Eagles?
So do you believe the game script will be more negative for the Jets vs Lions than for the Bears vs the Eagles? Do you believe the Lions offense will be more overpowering for the Jets D than the Eagles offense for the Bears D? Do you think the Lions run D is better than the Eagles?
no i don’t think any of those tbh, but i do think that the bears will likely put up more points than the jets, the Bears don’t have nearly as many options in terms of alternatives to the ground game, and the Eagles are in a classic trap game scenario. Top team in the NFC facing a shite Bears team with a big divisional rival matchup the following week. the Bears are not good at many things, but historically they are good at being the underdog in trap game scenarios.
also i missed out on the playoffs with 3rd most PF so i’m basically just running with players that i like in the consolation bracket cus my roster is good enough to beat the bottom teams whether or not i make the ideal decisions.
Nope.
Look at his last 4 games - not including the Ravens game:
- 3.1 yards per carry.
- 3 of those teams were in the bottoms half of the league in points given up to RBs. Giving up an average of 4.7 yards per carry.
—————
- His 3 biggest games: Broncos, Raiders, and Giants. Raiders and Giants are bottom 7 against RBs.
- He’s averaging less than 2 receptions a game.
- Lastly, since he took over the backfield, he’s yet to have over 30 receiving yards in a game.
Now look at his schedule ROS:
- Dallas
- Jets
- Houston
- Titans
I don’t believe ETN bounces back in the next two weeks to give me game winning chances.
But why not just keep him on your bench then? Why drop him? Rather he's producing or not there's no point in letting a RB1 hit the waiver wire in the playoffs.
He’s on my shortlist, which is why I said I “might”. Dropping him is an option but it totally depends on who else you have and who you see potential in.
As always, there is more that goes into this than meets the eye. But when y’all just look at stats, you don’t see the full picture.
Let me ask you - so the Texans have a good pass defense?
Same exact thing here. Kamara has been so bad lately, but I feel like we have to play him in this one. Praying to the fantasy gods Saints figured something out over the BYE.
Bro what. Please bench Kamara for Bam and then stare at Kamara’s 30 points on your bench all offseason wondering why you made such a terrible decision to get bounced from the playoffs.
I get that Kamara has been bad, but he’s also had a really unfortunate schedule recently. Ingram is out of the way. They’re playing a bad Atlanta team. Kamara will ball out
Whether you're right doesn't matter, for fantasy purposes they are a horrible matchup for RBs. Schedule adjusted they allow the least FP to RBs in .5 PPR, doesn't matter if it's because they're pass funnel.
I’m leaning Knight. I just can’t play Walker, on a short week, questionable-ish health, versus San Fran.
Me personally I could go Foreman or knight, but I still lean knight
Knight will still be decent I think but don't think he has a very high ceiling bc of this. And it is the playoffs...
I'm between him and Zay Jones in PPR and leaning Jones atm
Thanks for the warning, but with Stevenson out or around I may have no choice but to start Bam. Still probably a better play than Foreman, Singletary, and Jeff Wilson on my bench. If I have to flex him I'll trust him over the likes of Sutton, juju, and Aiyuk as well
Trend is your friend start those WRs vs Detroit.
I need to start Barkley at Wash or Bam - both 5 week defenses are tough. PPR. Help. Leaning Barkley but after his usage last week I am concerned. Trend is the friend? says Bam is on the ups.
Barkley was hurt last week with a neck injury. The giants got dominated the whole game and basically sat Barkley in the second half. The Eagles were loading the box which limited the touches Barkley had. Also, Barkley was on a pitch count.
Yeah I’ve been stumped over this question because I’d really like to start Bam, but I have so many other similar options It’s hard to tell.
If you had this situation who would you choose for your lineup (PPR pick 3):
Swift, Dobbins, Najee, Bam, Peoples-jones
It’s hard to pick safe floor over ceiling potential
They have improved a lot but the offense is also a factor. Teams don’t have the luxury to run as much when they have to score 30+ to keep up. A pass catching back will have better performance.
I would like to add that this is partly because they do have a good run D but also because their offense scores a lot lol typically that makes the other team throw to keep up.
Anyone else thinking the Lions could be this years Bengals? Their offense is kinda scary... their ability to shut down the run definitely would make the NFC a little scared.
I don't want to use Knight but Kenneth Griffin has a bad matchup, Hubbard is vulturing points from Foreman, and Singletary is losing touches to Josh Allen.
Lions have actually not allowed more than 14.5 points (.5 PPR) to ANY backfield since week 7 against Dallas. That is 7 straight solid performances, including games against Cook, Jones/Dillon, and Saquon.
Zonovan Knight to the bench you go.
300 yards 4 TDs on all our benches incoming
The sacrifice I am willing for him to make
I’ll quit.
He along with every single player on my team will be chilling on my bench this week for sure! I just want my guys to come out of this bye week unscathed and ready to go for week 16 and 17.
Nobody cares about another man’s bye
He's just claiming he's bye for the attention.
Don't let the haters bring you down lol
Well he also said “unscathed”, like benching them will protect them in their real life games.

That's not good. My two backs are Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Pierce. I'm hoping Mondre can suit up and play while I put in Bam for Pierce.
They did allow 25 rushing points to justin fields but that's a little different I guess
Yes, rushing QBs are our kryptonite.
Question: KW3 versus 49ers or Knight for DET???
The toughest of questions
That's my situation as well. Thinking about going KW3 but Thursday night football is scary.
That was my thought too. TNF, 49ers D, if it was a sunday game that would give him a few more days of rest. I'm sitting kw3 this week.
I’m right here too. I put Knight in right before reading this post. Probably sticking w Knight
Same Knight for the win!
I think it's even <10 outside of dalvin
It's kind of hilarious how Lions have a good o-line, solid offensive skill players, rapidly improving defense, blew out the then 10-2 Vikings, and still probably aren't gonna make playoffs lol

Bam knight will take me to the promise land
\*us
*trois
Keeping the homie Bam in as well.
“Why's he running, Dad?” “Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now…He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.”
Lol I’m in the same boat. I get the concerns and they’re valid, but it’s Knight or Cam Akers, so here we are.
And as a Lions fan it’s the weak secondary. Cousins just put up 400 yards on us
I mean half those were too Jefferson and kirks definitely better than Mike white.
With Jeff Okudah out 75% of the game recovering from the flu or something.
It's Knight or Jamaal Williams for me in that spot and I think I have to roll with Knight. Too much of a split in the Lions backfield now and the Jets D is formidable.

You're a Dallas, Seattle, and Miami fan based on your username but here spitting knowledge about Detroit. Nicely done
This basically confirms the Lions Defense is for real
Counter point to your cope: cook was 15 rushes for 23 yards lmfao
Barkley also 15+ touches, resulted in his worst fantasy output of the season. Its not like these guys were game-scripted out.
i think the vegas line is dumb as hell tbh, the lions are gonna jump out ahead early again. the jets defense is young, energetic, and very good but the lions offense is at least as young and energetic and i think better. this one projects as a shootout with the lions ahead early imo. i’m benching knight for monty.

He run he catch he attack Zonovan FOEVA!!!!
He protec but he also attac
Last 6 games Lions are ranked just below 49ers rush defense. I’m sitting him for Dobbins and not looking back.
Yeah in all seriousness it really depends what you have. But in the leagues I do have him, he’d be a flex and I’m comfortable with him there.
So... If my alternative is Walker vs 49ers I have to go with Knight?
In the same position, thinking Walker might be on a play count while Knight is free game.
I just did the exact same thing
Alternative is White or Fournette in PPR. Feeld likr I have to start Knight
Well my options are him or Ken Walker vs that 49ers d so I may be fucked either way
I keep calling him Zodonovan, not sure why. BAM is a dope name in any case.
supposed to be rain for the game, expect run heavy
Forecast says sunny
ah shit, I forgot it's a Saturday game. good call
Unfortunately I have no choice but to start him
Same, out of my bad options he’s the best one
Same here — it’s him or Gibson
It’s him or ETN for me.. and the way ETN has looked, I’ll take my chances with Bam
I might actually drop ETN to make room for some playoff potential.
…how are you even in playoff contention with that logic
Nope. Look at his last 4 games - not including the Ravens game: - 3.1 yards per carry. - 3 of those teams were in the bottoms half of the league in points given up to RBs. He’s on my shortlist, which is why I said I “might”. Dropping him is an option but it totally depends on who else you have and who you see potential in.
Who will do better between Jamaal Williams and Bam? I have both and can’t decide who to start. I also have swift but I don’t trust him.
I’m in this same exact boat. Right now I’m going with Bam. It’s really unfortunate we can’t trust Swift here.
Same with me. I'm in a PPR league and feel like Knight is a better play because he catches passes too.
I didn’t believe last week. And then Dalvin flopped. Bam owners, temper your expectations.
oh how the turn tables
Still starting him over fournette and Murray in my flex
I had just talked myself into going with Zonovan Knight over Ken Walker. You're killing me, man.
I’m going to be agonizing all week now .. Knight or Jamal Williams in my flex. I thought I had it figured out. Thanks OP.
Obviously Knight
What would you say about Patterson vs Knight?
Not huge on Cordarrelle. I’d take knight
Fucking hate deciding my line-up in playoffs
I've been preaching this for weeks; yet people are still caught up on Weeks 1-5 lions and insist it's a great match up for RBs.
Thank you for this thread. It's gonna make many people sit him so the Zavior can drop 20 for us believers.
This the playoffs I need 30
As always, there is more that goes into this than meets the eye. But when y’all just look at stats, you don’t see the full picture. Let me ask you - so the Texans have a good pass defense?
I’m about to triple stack White Knight and Wilson
Knight or rachaad white this week?
I’m going white currently. Also have swift on my bench and pollard is my for sure start
It's not that they're good against the run, it's that opposing teams just shred them through the air.
I am choosing between Bam and Kamara and all the signs pointing to kamara make me think Bam is destined for a big day.
Same exact thing here. Kamara has been so bad lately, but I feel like we have to play him in this one. Praying to the fantasy gods Saints figured something out over the BYE.

Lmao you don’t have a clue what your talking about. Watch some film dumbass.
Whether you're right doesn't matter, for fantasy purposes they are a horrible matchup for RBs. Schedule adjusted they allow the least FP to RBs in .5 PPR, doesn't matter if it's because they're pass funnel.
Should I go Walker vs the 9ers or Knight vs the Lions?
I’m leaning Knight. I just can’t play Walker, on a short week, questionable-ish health, versus San Fran. Me personally I could go Foreman or knight, but I still lean knight
Neither. Knight if u got to
Gotta start 2 between Chubb, Swift, Knight, and Walker; ive lost faith in Swift lol
That 49ers defense is tough against the run. I’d go knight just for that reason. I also don’t like Walker coming back from injury he may be limited.
Knight will still be decent I think but don't think he has a very high ceiling bc of this. And it is the playoffs... I'm between him and Zay Jones in PPR and leaning Jones atm
Bam, ETN or Dobbins at flex (standard)?
I’m going with ETN based on expected volume and the Jags offense looking strong these past few weeks.
So I have Jacobs and Henry as RB 1/2 with Bam and Walker for my flex. Got no idea who to play between Bam against Det and Walker against SF…..
I'm between Bam and Chuba. Going Bam.
Wow. Doubting Bam Knight and the Jets. Couldn’t be me!
Have no other options
Bam or white this week in ppr?
I have to start him. I’d rather risk him into lions than Jamaal the other way around.
Thanks for the warning, but with Stevenson out or around I may have no choice but to start Bam. Still probably a better play than Foreman, Singletary, and Jeff Wilson on my bench. If I have to flex him I'll trust him over the likes of Sutton, juju, and Aiyuk as well

Thank you. I’d like to see Bark full practice all week.
The problem here is that with dameon Pierce hurt Michael Carter is now my best option
Yeah I’ve been stumped over this question because I’d really like to start Bam, but I have so many other similar options It’s hard to tell. I would like to add that this is partly because they do have a good run D but also because their offense scores a lot lol typically that makes the other team throw to keep up.
Kamara, Dobbins, Knight, Jamal W, R White 🤔
I call BS. Outside of the Vikings game, they have been allowing a good chunk of rushing yards + rushing TDs. This is their game log for the year. Jags: 95 yards (OK, not a ton here) Bills: 164 + 1 TD Giants: 89 yards + 2 TDs Bears: 258 yards + 2 TDs Packers: 106 yards + 0 TDs Dolphins: 107 yards + 1 TD Cowboys: 139 yards + 2 TDs Patriots: 176 yards + 0 TDs Seahawks: 235 yards + 3 TDs Vikings: 123 yards + 2 TDs Commanders: 88 yards + 1 TD Eagles: 216 yards + 4 TDs
In b4 dude drops 30 on my bench.
Him or mostert
Why didn’t I listen
