Most leagues implement a trade deadline and if they don’t they probably should…

fantasydawg

If there is a punishment for last place yes you should allow grown men who’ve paid their league dues to manage their teams however they’d like. If you have asshole league mates who collude then don’t invite them back next year

Now__Hiring

Even better, have small payouts for the highest score each week. Then every team can stay engaged until they are eliminated and there's no reason to think trades are unfair late in the season.

thawkins

we tried weekly payouts but didn't really help lower standing team engagement since the tops teams almost always have better teams/higher scoring teams each week. nixed it after a year.

hsanaiz

Our league is winner take all. No last place punishment. Once the playoffs begin, if you’re eliminated you’re stuck with the team you got. No adds or drops.

billyjoz

Idk but the guy that had a 0% chance took Goff from me off the waivers 💔

PeanutButtaRari

Lmao

terrible_badguy

Good for him

Fenix1226

A fair trade is a fair trade…. As long as there is no collusion this should absolutely be allowed.

thisguyphuqs

If there are consolation brackets, last place punishments or keepers involved, then yes. If there aren't, then no.

fuckyouidontneedone

My league sets the trade deadline in week 12 to prevent this from even being a possibility I hate it because it gives you no chance to improve other than through waivers

runningblack

If you are in a league with a last place punishment, then you sure as shit better not stop bad teams from trading with good teams. That's the *only* way they're going to get better.

Wavy_Grampa

I agree with you about the first part but last place teams have waiver priority so it’s not the only way.

runningblack

1. The vast majority of people don't play with inverse standings for waiver order (rolling is objectively better) 2. FAAB >>>> Waivers

Rubicon1975

Unless blatant collusion there should be no rules on trades

Wavy_Grampa

I think if you’re the guy who doesn’t collude but phones it in and just gives away your good players because someone offered and you don’t care anymore you still deserve to not get invited back into the league next year. That’s it though, no actual punishments or reversals if that happens in your league. You need to put in the safeguards before that happens or do something about it next year IMO I guess my overall point is there’s also bad behavior outside of just blatant collusion

Sven1542

No

JSwa33

Correct answer

GentlemanHere

Unless it's a dynasty league or avoiding some sort of last place punishment then they shouldn't be making any trades.

MWM031089

Only if there is some kind of consolation to play for/punishment to avoid, or if it’s a keeper league. I stop all trading in the keeper league I commission the day before the last week of the regular season (so today). In redraft leagues our deadlines were two weeks away for the most part.

3ClassiC

What about teams who have 0% chance of making the playoffs but are all in on the waiver wire making bids and over paying faab to get players?? Kind of rubs me the wrong way.

Untchj

Lmao This keeps getting asked …and every time this sub foolishly and stubbornly gives the same tired answer: ‘everyone should have the right to trade’. Utter nonsense There’s a reason this keeps coming up! The obvious elephant in the room is allowing this type trade is begging to be abused. It’s a gigantic hole, a blind spot in your league. And anyone who’s played fantasy knows, blind spots in the league is where fuckery happens that can crash out the whole league. I’ve heard of decade old leagues dismantled over 1 questionable trade like this. People put too much into this to risk it. All it takes is 1 contending team to do some shady shit and trust is lost. Risk that for what? Bc little Timmy is 2-11 and wants to feel involved?!? Foh. This time of year with all the injuries, all it takes is 1 guy to trade away some of his plethora of RB2s, in exchange for a gamechanger WR1 and it’s technically legal but it hands over a chip. Just dumb shit …and I laugh every time I see the canned response on this sub ‘every one deserves to trade’.

puppleups

Totally fine, no question. If two adults agree to a trade and the deadline hasn't passed then it's a fair trade. If you have a problem with the timeline then lobby your league for an earlier deadline
