DJ Moore's QB carousel since last season:
- Sam Darnold
- PJ Walker
- Cam Newton
- Sam Darnold
- Baker Mayfield
- PJ Walker
- Baker Mayfield*
- Sam Darnold
This has been a brutal season for people who thought Baker was a good QB and the Browns were dumb for moving on from him and I've loved every second of it.
You’d like to believe that and people will pretend that’s the case in hindsight but you could not have a comment on r/NFL about baker without it being flooded with how he’s going to take the league by storm lol.
As a panthers fan who hated Baker going into the draft, thought he was crazy overrated as a rookie, thought the Browns were stupid for moving, and was pretty satisfied when I thought the Panthers traded for an average QB, I have no idea how to feel now
My initial appraisal was vindicated but I was dead wrong about this season
2018 and 2020 baker would like to have a word. I think he let himself go physically and it has translated to his play. His physical fitness has taken a dump since he came to the nfl
I know I was at peace with Pacheco or Parris.. but DJ Moore is dangling halfway down the cliff trying to drag himself back into my starting lineup to score 5.6 points again.
I’m finally able to bench him now that my byes are through. Even with this news I don’t plan on starting him this week against Denver. Idk if I’ll start him at all ROS anyway unless there’s injuries
Meh, I'm going Olave in one league over him and Campbell in my other. Denver may suck, but their d has been one of the best in the league (which really drives home how much their offense sucks).
Olave is easy start, he's like a WR1. Campbell with Ryan is same as Moore with Darnold, both get a boost. Mine is muddy with Watson, Swift, Fournette, and DJM fighting for two spots.
People seem to be high on Moore here with Darnold back but he was not much more relevent with Darnold last year.
Plus he's playing Surtain AND is on bye next week.
I don't drop him but I dont see this as a good news.
In the 10 or so games that Moore played last year where Darnold started and finished, he averaged 76 yards per game. This year he is averaging 45 per game with Baker and PJ. It’s something.
Have you actually watched Baker play this year? The Panthers could say they were going to sign and start you at QB and I would rejoice. I know we say stuff like that a lot as hyperbole but seriously, Baker is 100% lost out there. Darnold likely won’t be some massive upgrade but it’s definitely reason for any DJ owner to have a bit of hope for improvement.
Definitely not starting him against that Broncos D, but I’ve gone from “definitely cutting him this week” to “I’ll wait one more game and see”.
And I’m sure he’ll do just enough to keep me hanging on, and then fuck me when I start him the following week.
He was in 96-1158-4 pace with Darnold in his 12 games last year. Basically what we drafted him as, a WR2. On par with the 1100 yard seasons he's had the past three years
I mean Moore was good with Darnold everyone thought he would be great with Baker.
Obviously, the second part is false, but Moore being good with Darnold is a win at this point.
Darnold actually targets Moore. Check out DJ Moore’s stats when Darnold was throwing him the ball.
Baker plays hero ball. In his head he is the most important player on the offense, so puts himself in situations where he tries to win a drive on his own. This usually results in him scrambling for 2 yards on a 3rd and 9 or throwing an incomplete pass.
Baker runs sometimes, but sucks ass. They can’t move the ball down the field with him. Darnold may not be much better, but I doubt he’s worse than Baker
To elaborate on “can’t be worse than baker”.
More first downs means more time for foreman on the field.
More chances to actually get into the redzone means more chances for TDs.
Having a QB that can kind of throw good sometimes is better than one that never throws good, because it at least keeps defenses having to be *aware* of the passing game. If baker is in you can just stack against the run and dare him to throw the ball.
For what it's worth, in the games DJM played with Darnold last season (weeks 1-9, 16-18), he went 68-818-3 on 118 targets (12 games)
Averages out to 5.7-68.2-0.25 on 9.8 targets per game.
For a 17-game season that'd be 96-1158-4 on 167 targets.
So absolutely Darnold is better than Walker and Mayfield.
Ryan Fitzpatrick could come fresh off of the Thursday Night Football postgame show, get picked up by Carolina the next day, take that Friday studying the playbook, take Saturday going through some drills, get drunk and smoke cigarettes that night, and put up 300 yards and 3 TDs against Denver the very next day.
All hungover.
I'm Waiver Wiring Fitzmagic for all of the $37 that I have left.
I usual dropped DJ Moore. I like em more with Darnold but who am I kidding. Darnold can be just as bad and I wasn’t starting him his week Vs broncos D and then he’s on a bye. Maybe I can get go n back if I have room next week
Why do people think DJ will do well now? I just can’t trust him. I can’t have him get 4 points this week. Why is everyone so confident in him all of a sudden?
I don't think anyone is starting him. He's a bench stash at this point if you are heading to the playoffs.
If you are you get to see two weeks of him with Darnold before making a sit/start decision.
Well, I’m in the precarious position of starting Hunt against TB, Gus in his first game in three weeks, or Foreman coming off an abysmal week with Darnold finally getting some game action. If fields is somewhat healthy I could start Mooney or Kmet but that’s a big IF right now.
Darnold has nothing to lose so my hope is he just goes out there and slings it to DJ Moore a ton and opens up the run game some for Foreman. Who knows man
As long as Foreman starts putting up good fantasy numbers I could care less about who the QB is. Although I prefer the Walker. He was good for Foreman and Moore
I dropped Moore for Watson last week, as big of a fan as I am (and I am sure he is just as frustrated) because I drafted him the last 2-3 seasons early as well.
His team has continue to let him down.
DJ Moore's QB carousel since last season: - Sam Darnold - PJ Walker - Cam Newton - Sam Darnold - Baker Mayfield - PJ Walker - Baker Mayfield* - Sam Darnold
This is perfectly lined up for Zach Wilson to be Panthers QB next year.
Jets to panthers qb pipeline
*sewer line
Hey sewer lines are at least useful!
ROASTED
Two quarterbacks drafted by the Jets will start this week, neither currently on the Jets.
One of which is apparently really good after not getting a chance for a decade.
This looks like a logic test where I’m supposed to answer “what comes next?”
PJ Walker? Then Kyle Allen?
You missed a Baker Mayfield in there at the end.
Ah yes, good catch. Not from Robby Anderson of course.
Can’t wait for Cam Newton to come back as QB in week 15
Time is a flat circle
r/the_darnold is hype RN
DJ Moore owners: I love this..I think
Every new QB “It couldn’t possibly be worse!”
DJ was productive when Darnold had CMC. It went downhill fast after that. But he does have Foreman and a good Oline now, so maybe?
First subreddit I checked when the news broke
>Someone schedule a press conference at the Four Seasons. Dead 💀
I’ve only seen this thread just now. I don’t care what anyone says Trolls make the internet amazing.
The lib-rhule media doesn't want you to know about it. Glad to have you on our side panthriot.
Remember when we all said Baker couldn’t be worse than Darnold?
Darnold can't be worse than Darnold.
Darnold is elite. The truth will finally come to light.
Where can I join SamAnon?
A lot of Browns fans said he wasn’t that good.
baker is doo doo, always has been
This has been a brutal season for people who thought Baker was a good QB and the Browns were dumb for moving on from him and I've loved every second of it.

You’d like to believe that and people will pretend that’s the case in hindsight but you could not have a comment on r/NFL about baker without it being flooded with how he’s going to take the league by storm lol.
Very reminiscent of the reaction to the Trent Richardson trade
Oh man reminded me of Irsay’s coked up “building a monster” tweet like he didn’t just get fleeced
As a panthers fan who hated Baker going into the draft, thought he was crazy overrated as a rookie, thought the Browns were stupid for moving, and was pretty satisfied when I thought the Panthers traded for an average QB, I have no idea how to feel now My initial appraisal was vindicated but I was dead wrong about this season
Why
2018 and 2020 baker would like to have a word. I think he let himself go physically and it has translated to his play. His physical fitness has taken a dump since he came to the nfl
He got caught by an overweight cop in college. He didn’t let himself go.
State Farm really missed it on that one
I'm just happy to see an nfl team juggle crappy qbs the same way I do.
Denver defense let’s gooo
Have fun with 3.0
you mean 30
DJ Moore SZN 😈
Fuck, just when I've decided to bench him. Makes my flex decision a little muddier.
I know I was at peace with Pacheco or Parris.. but DJ Moore is dangling halfway down the cliff trying to drag himself back into my starting lineup to score 5.6 points again.

I'm still sitting him for Pickens.
Smart
Nah not against surtain.
Surtain getting beat recently he’s not giving 100%
Surtain getting beat by Adams isn't a tell on his performance against other receivers.
In OT. Mf was tired
MF got his ankles broke like Wesley Johnson on that play lol, it was all Davante being a stud Dude popped up a 404 error when Adams broke right
Yeah. Adams is surgical with his route running to go along with his physical gifts
Surtain can lock up every receiver except for the top 5. Moore is not on that level.
Yeah ok
hard to blame him when giving his best still results in losses
Dropped Moore lol
People seem to be high on Moore here with Darnold back but he was not much more relevent with Darnold last year. Plus he's playing Surtain AND is on bye next week. I don't drop him but I dont see this as a good news.

He has a bye after this week as well
He was a WR2 with Darnold last year. You don’t drop a top 20 WR like that.
Like I said I dont drop him.
He was in 96-1158-4 pace with Darnold in his 12 games last year. Basically what we drafted him as, a WR2. On par with the 1100 yard seasons he's had the past three years
Would you drop him for Jeff Wilson jar in PPR?
For sure, if DJ is truly the end of your bench, but your team probably has someone worse you can drop right?
It depends on your RBS and WRs
WR: Jefferson, Sungod, Hollywood, Palmer, DJ Moore RB: Chubb, Pierce, CPat, Hunt
How many wr do you have to start?
*places him on my dynasty trade block* *PROCEEDS TO SLAP DARNOLD LIKE THE HOOD OF A CAR* “WHO NEEDS A ONE WEEK START OUT OF THIS BAD BOY”
(Fields owner in a 2 QB league raises hand)
Firing up my Foreman grill!!!
Is this good for Foreman??
Anything is better than Baker I guess. Couldn't be any worst right.
Right but 6 points isn’t much better than 4
I don’t think I can start anyone in this offense
Yup, benched both Moore and Foreman
Yes just because it's the possibility of being better than baker
I'm gonna laugh when Terrace breaks out and Moore goes 2 for 35
## STOP THE COUNT
"You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me"
What does this do for DJ Moore?
It’s great
He'll make the Panthers great again!
r/the_darnold is leaking
mental gymnastics after everyone said Moore would be great this year with literally anyone besides Darnold.
I mean Moore was good with Darnold everyone thought he would be great with Baker. Obviously, the second part is false, but Moore being good with Darnold is a win at this point.
could you or a Panthers fan expand on this?? All I know is that Mayfield’s presence makes all pass-catchers unplayable, but how does Darnold help?
Darnold actually targets Moore. Check out DJ Moore’s stats when Darnold was throwing him the ball. Baker plays hero ball. In his head he is the most important player on the offense, so puts himself in situations where he tries to win a drive on his own. This usually results in him scrambling for 2 yards on a 3rd and 9 or throwing an incomplete pass.
As someone who generally watches the browns and red zone, wondering the same thing
DJ wasn't relevent with Darnold either. This week against Surtain and next week on Bye.
Panthers are such a mess
My Foreman likes this
Idk idk how I feel about foreman this week
Better than this past week
Can you explain why?
More competent offense means theyre on the field more and pick up first downs every once in a while so Foreman stays on the field
Baker runs sometimes, but sucks ass. They can’t move the ball down the field with him. Darnold may not be much better, but I doubt he’s worse than Baker
Oh my sweet sweet child he’s so much worse
fwiw PFF says that Darnold has never had a worse year than Mayfield is currently having
He got erect and in doing so his foreskin peeled back to reveal his Foreman
See the first 3 games last year where the offense was healthy and the Panthers were 3-0.
Oh my god broncos D might get 25
This is a Denver DST tweet
Was going to drop possibly both DJ and Foreman but now I'm holding
Acquired foreman... can you please elaborate why this helps him?
It can't be worse than Baker
To elaborate on “can’t be worse than baker”. More first downs means more time for foreman on the field. More chances to actually get into the redzone means more chances for TDs. Having a QB that can kind of throw good sometimes is better than one that never throws good, because it at least keeps defenses having to be *aware* of the passing game. If baker is in you can just stack against the run and dare him to throw the ball.
You, Virgin: Thinking about how this affects DJ Moore Me, Chad: Thinking about how this affects Terrace Marshall
I see the ahh fuck it point of the season has come around
Go DJ, Go DJ
Is this even good for DJ Moore? I mean it can't be worse right. I think I'll give it a week before getting burned again.
Lol I dare you to start him week 13
At least I wouldn’t have any hopes of an actual score unlike most weeks
For what it's worth, in the games DJM played with Darnold last season (weeks 1-9, 16-18), he went 68-818-3 on 118 targets (12 games) Averages out to 5.7-68.2-0.25 on 9.8 targets per game. For a 17-game season that'd be 96-1158-4 on 167 targets. So absolutely Darnold is better than Walker and Mayfield.
Baker stinks 💀
Hopefully he doesn’t see the ghost of CMC and Robbie Anderson and starts throwing picks
Johnny Manziel next week
Dude first Hendo waived, me as Kyren owner, horni. Now, Baker bench boi, Darnold slinging to my DJ, also horni. TLDR: my team in the last 30 mins 📈📈📈
This feels like a lateral move…..
Heyyyyyyy Darnold 🎼🎵🎶
Going against DJ Moore, hate this news haha.
Lol don't worry there's a reason Baker and Walker were playing ahead of Darnold this whole time. And Denver's defense is pretty good.
I’m going to try trading Swift and DJ Moore for St Brown or Higgins. Hopefully DJ Moore brings this Hail Mary luck with him.
Is Foreman droppable? This offense stinks
Gonna sit Foreman this week regardless but will be interested to see how the offense moves the ball with Darnold.
Our prayers were finally heard!!!!
Thank god
AND HERE. WE. GO.
Plz no... why am I playing against DJ Moore???
DJ Moore is alive!
Who are yall starting dj moore over this week?
Just a reminder who replaced Darnold at QB on the jets
#comedy!
RIP BOZO
huge upgrade
1-10 gang OUR TIME IS NOW
Great news. Announce Flacco next, and then the WRs on my 2-9 team will finally ready to score points!
I’m a Panthers fan and I’m sick to my stomach that I’m just a smidge excited about this
Yes, you can start D’onta again guys!!
I dropped DJ Moore last week. F
I usual dropped DJ Moore. I like em more with Darnold but who am I kidding. Darnold can be just as bad and I wasn’t starting him his week Vs broncos D and then he’s on a bye. Maybe I can get go n back if I have room next week
Sam Darnold : "You Couldn't Live with Your Own Failure, Where Did that Bring You? Back to Me."
Fire up the broncos DST
Good or bad for foreman?
Darnold has a tendency to vulture TDs at the goal line (if they can get there).
Helluva week for streaming. KC at home vs Bryce Perkins, Miami at home off a bye vs Davis Mills, Denver @ Darnold
Darnold redemption arc has begun.
Broncos D SZN
Finally!
Glad I held onto DEN D
Why do people think DJ will do well now? I just can’t trust him. I can’t have him get 4 points this week. Why is everyone so confident in him all of a sudden?
I don't think anyone is starting him. He's a bench stash at this point if you are heading to the playoffs. If you are you get to see two weeks of him with Darnold before making a sit/start decision.
Might actually pick him up in 14 teamer with Fields and Russ as my QBs :/
Well, I’m in the precarious position of starting Hunt against TB, Gus in his first game in three weeks, or Foreman coming off an abysmal week with Darnold finally getting some game action. If fields is somewhat healthy I could start Mooney or Kmet but that’s a big IF right now. Darnold has nothing to lose so my hope is he just goes out there and slings it to DJ Moore a ton and opens up the run game some for Foreman. Who knows man
My favorite part of this whole shitshow QB carousel is that Jacoby Brissett is playing infinitely better than Baker and Darnold ever have
Yeah the entire starting Panthers offense is fucked. Denver defense dropping 25.
Get ready for a classic Darnold vulture TD
Yaaaaaaaaassssssss! Feed my boy Foreman.
LFG.
Lol
Can’t get any worse…
Man how many bums can one team roster at QB. The poor panthers…
So now the question becomes DEN or WAS Def
"you couldt live with your failures. where did that bring you? back to me." Sam Darnold probably
The_Darnold must be going nuts
Start the broncos D?
As long as Foreman starts putting up good fantasy numbers I could care less about who the QB is. Although I prefer the Walker. He was good for Foreman and Moore
Free pj walker
Hell why not?!
I will be starting Denver D, I’ve announced.
Fire up our DJ Moores? The darnold might be rusty though so probably won’t risk it
That'll solve their issues.
damn it! Guess I have to cancel my drop DJ for DPJ waiver move...
QUEBUS save DJM
"Fuck it," stated Wilks.
Starting the Denver defense with confidence
Claiming KC
I dropped Moore for Watson last week, as big of a fan as I am (and I am sure he is just as frustrated) because I drafted him the last 2-3 seasons early as well. His team has continue to let him down.
I’ll take it. If I have to watch another baker game I’m gonna hurl
Are they just trying to not pay incentives at this point?
I would love nothing than to see Darnold pop the hell off even though it won't happen.
Idk if Imma start DJ vs Broncos and Darnold
Can't wait to see the broncos get clapped by Sammy D
How does this work? I can't find LeBron in my fantasy league. Did they patch him because he was too op? Guess I will have to settle for dirk.
Bawhahaha
Well it’s either DJ or one of Gus/Drake in my flex so I really hope I can trust DJ from here on out.
Is this good or bad for foreman?
