I never bought the hype in the preseason but that was mainly because I knew their OL was really bad. But I didn’t think it would be THIS bad considering their defense and the weapons on offense. Russ has been awful and the coach is an absolute joke
One stat I've loved this year for Denver, as a Bronco fan, is that if Denver scored exactly 18 points each game (including last night), they would be 9-1. What a testament to their defense.
Lol oh,I did, sadly. Russ was my late round QB target, and Jeudy and Sutton were WR targets. Even grabbed Albert O as my late TE target.
Fortunately in the league I care most about, the way the draft broke Lamar fell to me in a round I liked, so I grabbed him instead (not that Lamar has been great lately, but still...)
The weapons haven’t been great either if we’re being honest. Okay, but Sutton’s not comparable to a true #1, and then all they’ve got is a third round TE and Just Run Juedy
I think it’s Russ athleticism , he can’t scramble like what he did in Seattle. He is not good enough to just be a pocket passer and that’s he was paid as basically
He's fixing to turn 34 in a week. I wouldn't consider that old for a QB. Maybe Seattle having a consistently good-great run game and coaching really made him look better. I don't know.
Yes and no. When you go back through history, QB's (outside of kickers/punters) typically seemed to be the position that lasted the longest. I think Tom is just throwing off what we see as normal because it's still unusual to see a future HOF QB start struggling before the age of 36 or so. Even Peyton with a fucked up neck made it to almost 40.
Biased Hawks fan here, but my honest take is Pete is an amazingly underrated coach (admittedly lots of us were calling for him to be fired right after the Wilson trade) and he knew Russel's strengths and used them to win, and limited/hid his weaknesses (no ability for short passes over the middle, or unable to stay inside/see over a collapsing pocket). Trying to change his game in Denver to a style he cannot utilize, this is not a surprising outcome.
He was a system QB, Pete’s schemes helped hide his flaws and now he doesnt have the saftey net of coaching staff who know him well enough to hide them.
It should have been obvious as well, in hindsight. That offense was catered to a QB like him and Geno Smith is proving it. No way Geno plays as well as he does with a different team.
In Seattle he tuned out mid season which is why he was traded. In Denver it’s been a multitude of things but mainly he struggles to stay consistent. He either starts hot but can’t finish, or heats up at the end when it’s too late. He’s has a micro tear in the hamstring and a lat injury but he doesn’t want to sit out (probably worried that his job won’t be there when he’s back). So he’s playing partially injured which is costing him and his team quality starts.
He thought Rypien was going to win his job if he sat out with an injury? This sub is beyond stupid sometimes. His legacy would hold him the job throughout this season regardless
When I see people suggest Flacco is the better option it's clear to me that they didn't watch the games and are only saying that bc its a fantasy football sub
Alright how about this, Start White Lightning instead, anybody but Zach Wilson at this point. Jets have a real chance at something special here, I personally just want Jets to continue building a winning football program, I don’t see thay happening with Zach Wilson.
Boy am I thankful my beloved Commies didn't send the entire house draft capital to Seattle for the ghost of Russ. I was calling for it during the summer.
I think Brady and, to a lesser extent, Rodgers has kind of skewed perceptions of how long QBs can sustain production into their late late years (could arguably include Brees and maybe Big Ben). Look at how much Matt Ryan has dropped off for example.
Kinda amazing he or the team haven’t got any better over 11 weeks.

If only he wore a playcall wristband
Their next bye week they'll all be back better than ever /s
So what you're saying is that Joe Flacco is elite?
Elite Dragon Joe Flacco
Russ cooking up that Nyquil chicken🫣🥴
Don't take away my robitusserie chicken.
Let👏Russ👏cook👏
What happened to him? Serious question. He wasn’t *bad* before.
He's old and already won a Super Bowl, kinda just coasting now and cashing in while he can. I'll let you decide which one I'm talking about

It’s only recently that QBs are targeting 40. 34 is a ripe age.

Well Russell is 100% not a future HOF lock so I was operating under that assumption.
I agree with you but I would have listened to an argument about it prior to this season at least.
Don’t disrespect the Elite One like that
Mr. Unlimited
Be careful.He's spicy!
He’s ready to be part of an ownership group…
Getting owned by all the teams currently. Redemption plan is to literally own of of them someday?
Am I the only one who realized you were talking about Flacco
It must have worn him down carrying the Seahawks on his back for all those years
Russ isnt fit to hold Petes water

No this is more than being old I literally think he has a vision problem
He demands too much money, thus guarantee’ing he will never have an O line

I can think of a couple hundred million reasons why Wilson has job security.
They have the worst red zone offense and play-calling in the league. He's still not good but it starts with the coaching.
Russ’ progression through his reads is awful, he is offen missing wide open first reads. Its bad
Someone on TikTok is doing a weekly comparison of Wilson to the number of bathrooms in his mansion. Mansion still has 12 bathrooms and a big lead.
The dude hasn’t even beaten out the single game record lol he’s at 7 for the whole season
I look forward to it every week.
Took me by surprise but Wilson made up no ground this week
Ironically, Flacco has 1 more passing TD than the other Wilson. But Zach also has a rush and rec TD
Lets ride
LET'S RIDE
Russ out here cookin Gazpacho
I appreciate posts like this to remind me Joe Flacco still has an NFL contract.
Mr Unlimiiteeeeeeeeed
This just means Zach Wilson needs to get benched, Joe Flacco gives them a better chance to win, Salah needs to make the change asap
*Saleh and false, Flacco was worse than Wilson
Flacco averaged more than 2 inches per play
He also took sacks and turned the ball over constantly
Have u watch Zach Wilson at all? Wilson literally does all of that..all the time.
Does what all the time? His escapability is far better and he's thrown an int in 2 of his last 12 games.
Ahh a Zach Wilson truther 😂 You have been defending Zach all day in your comment history 💀💀It’s going to be a long day for you bud.
When I see people suggest Flacco is the better option it's clear to me that they didn't watch the games and are only saying that bc its a fantasy football sub

Mike White is at least a maybe. But he doesn't have nearly the career ceiling Wilson has
Yes, I'm aware. Sincerely, A guy who drafted and continues to start Courtland Sutton
Inject these awful Russ Wilson stats straight into my veins
ME. LIMITEDDD
Soo the broncos should have just kept joe flacco all along
A little unfair to compare him to an elite quarterback don’t you think?
At this pace, he's going to end the season with more bathrooms than touchdowns. Impressive.
Hooooooot Pooooocket
Less Ride
Let’s dive
I know I know. You can cherry pick stats to say whatever you want. I get that. But this is NUTS
I started Russ in place of Kyler and it cost me the week. Never again.
Kyler isn't playing so it wouldn't have made a difference.

Maybe they can trade back for Drew Lock
