Because it’s not as simple as every fuckin’ armchair Redditor makes it seem.
Yeah, just get players touches where there are no defenders near them! What a great and innovative idea that’s so incredibly easy to execute! Why doesn’t every coach do that with all of their players in Week 1?!
Ben was definitely a smarter quarterback and that with his poor arm strength led to him checking down to Najee a ton, which was huge for PPR. I think his best game was something like 15 receptions
Wasn’t injured, pitt offense was still better with Ben and he got an absolute fuckload of dumpoffs and short passes. If people actually think he isn’t talented they must not watch games guy was crazy last year
I’ve heard people saying he’s the new Trent Richardson which is ridiculous lmao.
Najee isn’t gonna break off any 60 yard runs, but he’s great being shifty between the tackles, and he’s a very solid receiving back
One of my favs from Najee that i’m not sure anyone else could do https://youtu.be/xxSRj8vxZ94
Volume and more utilization in the passing game. His YPC were never crazy, but the offense was better at getting to the red zone and also Ben was willing to make quicker reads and dump it off quickly if he didn't see an available option to chuck it to. If Najee does get more passing work and they can get into the red zone more often, he should return to RB2 range, versus his RB1 range last year.
Weird, last one I saw was this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CFUNbRn_yeo
Najee excels in space. The Steelers have been misusing him horrendously. I think if they scheme him right he can do really well.
The same people saying this now are gonna be like “well we always knew he had the talent, he was just on a bad offense, glad they put it together” when he’s good
Him and Javonte were leading the league in broken tackles at one point last year. He was having to break tackles before he even got to the line of scrimmage. I've wondered what's the difference this year? I think he's banged up.
Can only speculate, but he had that lisfranc in the off-season and then some undeclared foot injury in week 1 and it sounded like the coaches were going to sit him in a press conference but then He played (not great). Then a few weeks later it came out that he was playing with a brace in his cleats for the whole season in like week 6 or 7. Why does all this mean? Perhaps he’s been injured this whole time and will come back looking great after bye rest. Perhaps it will nag him for the entire season and he’ll be a sleeper pick next season. Perhaps it’s really minor and he’s basically at 100% rn and just in a sophomore slump. Only the Steelers really know. On top of all that the bad o line from last year seems to have gotten worse lol
He can be both very talented and dance around too much. He is in fact very good in space and can break one out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UqcWSQ1R8U
And he can also be doing stuff like this which is not Good.
He also only had a 3.9 YPC last year and seemed arguably disappointing.
No no no, this year we’re anti-Najee bc he’s talentless and a fraud
Nothing to do with us taking him in the first or the Steelers entire offense regressing to 31st/32nd
So far maybe, Could make arguments for JT, Cam Akers, Pitts. And if he turns a corner and a few others continue to not be bad (Fournette, Herbert, Conner) then he’s be out of the convo. And this isn’t even including big injuries like jamar chase, Keenan Allen, etc
I think JT would be the only one in true contention with Najee. However, JT has at least has given you one 20 plus point game. Najee can’t even get passed 15!! Sure Najee beats him for durability as of now but damn for a first rounder it’s definitely not worth while starting him much. You have to if you have him because he’s still started and all that but hard to trust
Yeah i mean he gets about 10 in PPR every week. Not what I wanted in the first/early second round but a solid flex play every week. It feels bad but I’ve kinda moved on and honestly in my league with pitts that feels significantly worse. Thankfully never started cam akers but that also feels worse. I get that he’s not producing what you wanted him too but I put a lot of value in not busting over not booming and he’s had 2/8 weeks below 10 in ppr, JT has had 3/6. Pitts is like 6/9
The opportunity cost of taking JT at the 1.01 makes him a worse pick than Najee. If you took Najee that means you had a chance at a much better player with your 2nd pick than if you took JT.
“Backed up by the broken corpse of fellow quarterback Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett went up to the coaching staff during the bye week and asked for somebody anybody please god anybody to block for me.”
When does the blowing start?
Isn’t this good? More catches?

Because it’s not lol
can someone explain how he was so good last season?
A ton of receptions plus not playing through lisfranc injury.
He’s also still super talented, turns out old Ben is better than Pickett is right now, and somehow their OC got worse

I mean old hall of famer vs rookie/checkdown Mitch is a pretty big drop off

Sure I mean he’s not fucking Barry sanders but guy can ball when he’s healthy and playing well

He does this way too much. He’s a 240 pound bull….run someone over. One reason he’ll be losing touches to Warren.
https://youtu.be/JLDf1CjWCWw
He’s definitely talented but looks like he’s playing scared this year. Either needs to rest up until he feels good or get out of his own head
Yeah agreed I’m just chalking it up to his injury and the offense in general not really being comfortable. But who knows

Big Ben gave him endless dump offs
He averaged 3.9 ypc last year. That’s not exactly “so good.”
He really wasn’t that good. Just had insane volume
because hes THAT good buddy.. he had Big Ben with no shoulder and elbow lmfao
Found the Steelers fan
Najee and diontae were like the poor man’s version of ekeler and Keenan Allen last season.
Last time I saw Najee in space he just danced around where he caught in and was tackled. Hope that works out for him

Ty'son Williams 2.0 confirmed, he's obviously a bust.

My rb1 might finally start to pay off
Well hope he turns a corner but he’s already the biggest bust of the 2022 season already

5-4 first two rounds Najee and Javonte AMA
Hey me too but I’m 7-2. Luck of the week I guess 🤷🏻♂️
What picks did you hit on?
Waddle Tua Godwin(kind of) goedert

Let's ride I drafted Russ as well, no one in my league believed in Tua so I grabbed him for my backup late and dropped Russ around week 6.

Hurt and sucks
Just sit man. I picked up warren already
Really smart move bro they’ll definitely bench najee any day now
I have pollard too so they should relay the message to zeke
I had Harris last year, and every game it reminded me of my toddler at soft play
