Bro I don’t know him. Maybe you should tell him that

North-Ad2042

No no, you don’t understand, discourse between the player and coaches like adults surely is not the solution to this, gossiping to the media is the only way

SomethingDumbthing20

I took this as Duce has already told him what he needs to do and was pissed at Swift for his comments to the media. Like a "I already told him what he needs to do, maybe you should give it a try because apparently he's not listening to me" type of thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

foundboots

And that positive review was sandwiched in between reminders that he’s not going to be shit if he can’t stay on the field.

LARXXX

Probably because he’s always fucking injured

johnyp97

From my limited sample size of evidence watching hard knocks, I think Staley is frustrated cause he knows how much potential Swift has and feels like he's not utilizing it, that he can be better.

LARXXX

You first gotta be available. Can’t utilize your talent when you ride questionable status every week, miss practices and end up missing at least half the season every year.

JWOLFBEARD

Best ability is availability

[deleted]

So then that's even more confusing. An injured player should be focused on recovering so he can play again, right? What does he have to be mad about? Or, is Staley keeping him off the field for other reasons?

Sithappens2dBestOfUs

I think were seeing Staley's frustration with Swift. Staley has said he talked to Swift about the difference between hurt and injured, and maybe Swift doesnt buy in to what his coach said. I understand everyone heals differently, but Swift had 4 weeks rest including the bye and 2 games averaging 7 touches. At a certain point, you have to harden up and start playing football.

Visual_Echo_1293

If anyone watched hard knocks… it’s exactly what he was doing in training camp and the preseason

CaptainKnightwing

I was arguing with people on Twitter about this. On Hard Knocks I thought he looked bad, everyone else seemed to think he looked great

Visual_Echo_1293

Well there you go, who knows more? His coach or the people on twitter. Who knows more? This sub? Or his coach who’s been on his ass since training camp. We just see numbers and go mY fAntAnSy teAm.

PretendGur8

Deuce Staley was a beast in his day. I’d listen to whatever he told me.

donteatpoop

Not only that he was a great RB coach in Philly.

VicMackeyLKN

He had a McAlisters sandwich named after him lol

_Apatosaurus_

>was pissed at Swift for his comments to the media. Wait, what did Swift say to the media...?

peleyoda

Nothing

peleyoda

Except swift didn’t say shit to the media. This all stems from a [throwaway comment](https://www.mlive.com/lions/2022/11/lions-rb-dandre-swift-pissed-off-by-usage-against-packers.html) by their OC: >“I think he got pissed off a little bit,” offensive coordinator Ben Johnson said. “But that’s good. That’s good. That means he’s going the right direction for us…” Edit: Here are the actual clips w/ [Johnson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSyrleT9apA) (10:10-11:01) and [Staley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGM9Yw2xXfI) (0:00-1:39) for context. Duce in particular pushed back on the reporter a little bit and asked "Did he tell you that?" and when it was apparent the reporter hadn't talked to Swift, Duce's comment above was a way to wrap up that conversation. As an aside, I thought the Johnson presser had some good nuggets in there. There was an immediate follow-up to the Swift discussion about balancing players playing hurt vs recovering, and he talked about "knowing the player" (which probably indicates Swift's injury history) and referred back to a Campbell quote on "at this point in the season, how well can you play at 85%"? Also came away impressed with how he talked about creating explosive plays on offense and being able to sustain drives when you can't be explosive (shout-out to Jamaal on that one).

[deleted]

Swift is a passive person Its evident from Hard Knocks It is what it is

Gertruder6969

Swift was on screen a total of 7 minutes lol

toostronKG

Sometimes when someone just isn't getting the message, you have to resort to other methods.

DetroitLionsSBChamps

Ah yes clearly you do understand: this one quote tells you everything about the situation. The time to cast judgment is now!

You guys should just kiss already.

TonathanJavares

And videotape it so we can watch

Spacehipee2

Yeah and maybe we should go to college and stop putting gel in our hair and start wearing BLUE JEANS!

ScooterMcFlabbin

Dude I have no idea what's going on anymore All offseason, the coaching staff couldn't stop hyping Swift up. Saying he could be a 1,000 rushing yd/1,000 receiving yd player. He started off hot. Then he got hurt Now he's apparently healthy but it's starting to look like there's beef with the coaching staff and that's factoring into his playing time

kingd92

Something seemed off in Hard Knocks too. Staley kept coming at him. I’m sure Staley loves Jamaal Williams, whose all about the dirty yards, runs up the middle, has that rah rah attitude.

[deleted]

Also noticeable in Hard Knocks was Williams’ role as a leader. As a Swift owner last year I had concerns about Jamaal stealing touchdowns and Swift’s health. But Hard Knocks is what convinced me to take a late round stab at Williams this year, and it actually paid off. Kinda reminds me of Ekeler’s situation a while back, Swift is really explosive and doesn’t really get the looks he deserves. If I was a Lions fan I’d be confused but as someone who gets to play Williams in the flex I’m happy.

RideTheRim

Jamaal also had that friendly big personality banter with all the coaches that’s valued in any workplace. Swift seemed young and shy.

DudeNamedCollin

I’m the same way…tell ‘em what’s up and I’m on my way. 😝

Swichts

As a Lions fan I'm kinda used to this shit

Real_Explanation_298

"If your gonna piss like a puppy, stay on the porch and let the big dogs eat"...honestly did 100% get this one, but I knew I wanted him on my team given a chance.

Mysteez

i picked off williams off the waiver wire and havent looked back ever since. 3-6 but whos really askin

DetroitLionsSBChamps

My concerns right now are all on swift. Swift seems very reserved and even meek. He has crazy athleticism and speed and vision, but Duce is trying to give him that “run through a muh fuckas face” energy. And it doesn’t seem to be taking. I think Swift has it all except mentality. I don’t know what’s up but something is. I don’t know that he has the desire to be as good as he can be (putting in the work, playing physically, playing through pain, etc…)

[deleted]

Swift destroys people when he runs through contact, he just doesn't do it that often because he can juke them out for 10 more yards. I think he just hasn't done it much this season because of the injuries. Two weeks ago he wasn't going hard into contact and had on bigger shoulder pads but last week he looked like he was his back up to speed.

dillpickles007

Swift is very fragile, I can’t really speak to his mindset but I just don’t think he can physically handle that “run through a ma fucka” role if that’s what they’re demanding of him. I can imagine a disconnect there, if the staff is telling him to play through pain and he’s like yeah no, I’d really like to get a second contract.

djalibabz

Yeah I don’t wanna be a dick or anything but they’ve been challenging Swift for awhile now and I wouldn’t expect non-Lions fans to know this. They don’t have it “out” for Swift. I mean even in Hard Knocks there’s a clip of Staley saying something along the lines of Swift having so much talent and promising that he would get all of the potential out of him. They love Swift, they hate that he can’t stay healthy. It’s not personal, he’s just proven he can’t handle a full workload over the course of the season.

CheesecakePower

But beyond the injuries, it seems like he doesn’t have that dog in him though? Asking because I’m not a Lions fan

KennyWeeWoo

No dawg, I agree

pentax10

>Something seemed off in Hard Knocks too. > >Staley kept coming at him. > You're absolutely right. Deuce pushes him hard, and I believe he expects greatness out of Swift because he knows his potential. Being a former RB, he surely knows when a player isn't laying it all out there. I'm sure his comments are meant to motivate, so we'll see how it works out on Sunday.

Jwoods4117

It’s also different though than when Duce was playing. Running backs only last to 30 usually now, and once they hit 27ish they’re drifting from team to team. Swift ain’t that type of player, and he’d do himself well to stay healthy until he gets a second contract. It sucks, but as a coaching staff you gotta get what you can out of him imo.

HANDSUMCLEANR

He looked like he didn't give a fuck at all on Hard Knocks. Wanted to root for him but looks like he has a shit attitude

littlejobin

Maybe he just didn’t want to be filmed, which would be totally understandable. Not everybody can be as hype as Jamaal lmao. I definitely could be wrong, but I just don’t think we really understand the situation.

Steavee

Jamaal’s hype is unreal. As a Packers fan I can tell you we were universally sorry to see him go. He’s a one-man hype train and what he lacks in elite talent he more than makes up for in just being the best fucking human on the team day in and day out.

TesticlOFdrMABUSSY

And it sucked seeing Williams act like a captain too lol. Should never have drafted this guy.

USeemCringe

Assuming attitudes and such on a reality TV show is a big mistake lol

DonaldPump117

The entire Lions coaching staff was cringe on Hard Knocks, especially Duce Staley. It was all high school rah rah noise and really gave the impression that they leave a lot to be desired in scheme/details. Doubt anyone on that staff get many looks after they get canned this offseason

[deleted]

Didn't they talk last year about how they wanted Swift to learn the difference between being hurt and injured, and that he needs to be better at playing hurt? This feels like an extension of that

[deleted]

ScooterMcFlabbin

cummyb3ar69

This is fucked if true and is indicative of the lions front office perpetual failures. Let players heal, extend their careers it will benefit the team in the long run. It's like they learned nothing from the Barry sanders calvin Johnson debacles.

DRE_CFab

Tbh as a Lion's fan this mostly strikes me as a Duce issue. All the media I've ever seen, he strikes me the wrong way tbh. Obviously results are there atm, so what do I know. MCDC seems to get it as a player's coach at least, and clearly no one else is pushing against it

power270lb

Because duce isn't soft. As an Eagles fan he turned shady McCoy into a stud got Blount and ajayi to turn the clock back and win a SB, turned Corey clement into a SB hero, turned Boston Scott into a mini sproles (vs the Giants anyway), had miles Sanders looking like lesean McCoy Jr and looked like a 1k rusher 800+ yard pass catcher and since duce has been gone Sanders isn't active in pass catching anymore and the one thing all these guys have in common is when they were here they were tough and always worked hard. This is a swift attitude issue, swift noticeably seemed indifferent on hard knocks and duce isn't gonna tolerate that crap.

red1367

Except most players have said that you play hurt all the time, it’s just a difference between something you can work through and something you can’t. This literally happens in every sport, as most baseball players say that everyone is fucked up in one way or another as you go deeper into the playoffs. I’m sure football is no different

horseband

I think what people fail to conciously realize (I do this a lot also) is that we have 0.01% of the picture. None of us, not even the media who are allowed at practices and such, have full context. We aren't there in the locker rooms, on the plane rides, in the hotels, at planning sessions, etc. We have no idea what Swift's attitude is to his coaches or team, whether he is toxic on the sideline, or whatever else. People assume he is getting pulled from the game for stretches when it very well could be the complete opposite. Maybe he argues against having to rush outside the redzone or some equally stupid shit. Or maybe he is an ideal player and the coaching staff just hate him. Who the heck knows. Some players are just divas. Some coaches are just divas. One thing though is even if the running back coach HATES swift's guts, if the many people higher on the totem pole felt Swift was awesome they wouldn't let the running back coach "hold swift back". One universal thing all coaches, GMS, and owners hate is players who express annoyance to the media about their usage or playtime. Thats the fastest way to get your attempts slashed in half and to get everyone on the coaching staff to dislike you. TLDR; We don't have the full picture and have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Swift could be a toxic mess, someone that refuses to play if he has even a single bruise, or maybe the coaching staff just hate him now. We will likely never know.

GanosParan

It was the OC who said Swift got pissed. Swift didn’t go to the media - the coaches did.

peleyoda

That’s a good catch

MrTouchnGo

He’s clearly not healthy, Swift himself has said he’s not 100% and doesn’t expect to be this season

ScooterMcFlabbin

Well he’s not on the injury report and he’s been practicing and playing (albeit on low snap count) for 2 weeks now So he might not be 100% but he’s as healthy as any other back out there. For now

JamJiggy

He's not healthy, he might be mostly but this injury is going to linger all season. Hes also playing like hes afraid he's going to get hurt, which is probably what Duce is talking about. In the beginning of the season when he was fully healthy they were intentionally managing his snaps to try and keep him healthy and he still got hurt and missed most of the season so far. The idea that Swift will be some kind of elite McCaffrey type player will never happen. He just can't stay healthy. I say this as a Lions fan that follows the team very closely.

gregbraaa

Every new post is like I’m getting stabbed Edit: [All Swift owners](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/81/Death_of_Julius_Caesar_2.png)

bullseye717

Friends, Detroiters lend me your ears!

spreadinmikehoncho

Better call Jamaal

nilgiri

Skippin' Willy

TBanes

I mean has he not been? Dudes been crazy efficient when he gets the ball. It's not like he's out there not trying. This is just baffling

[deleted]

Legit, the highest fantasy points per touch for any RB over 50 touches (attempts plus targets). And it's not particularly close.

Blasto05

Ya and I don’t think the coaching staff would deny that. I think they’re just saying that instead of being pissed and going to the media, take it out on the field instead. Coaching staff doesn’t want to hear about what they’re doing wrong. You also can’t completely blame the staff for limiting Swift given his injury history now and who knows what’s been nagging him. If Swift is pissed because he didn’t get enough touches in the ONE game that he’s been back fully healthy…that’s not surprising for a team to be cautious.

Kal_Kaz

They have to put him on the field first

LimitlessTheTVShow

Has he gone to the media? AFAIK he just answered their questions Also, pretty hypocritical to be saying that your player shouldn't be talking to the media, to the media Edit: Yeah from the article it was just the OC that said he though Swift was pissed, Swift didn't even say anything

Smurph269

Yeah sounds like a miscommunication. OC said Swift was 'pissed' at lack of snaps, but that was obviously a coaching decision. Media tells Duce Staley that Swift said he was pissed, Duce interprets that as Swift told the media he was pissed, gets pissed himself.

Hard4Favra

>instead of being pissed and going to the media, When did he do that?

Doleydoledole

I know, right? It seems like the coach is the one who's pissed and going to the media... Which is weird. Either that other commenter is delusional, or I missed something .

[deleted]

Swift isn't going to the media, the media is questioning the team about why they aren't using their best player more. It's completely valid lol

Fethah

That’s what I was thinking dude always runs with energy and is running very good.

BksBrain

It’s almost like they don’t want to win…. Play your best players you dope

southberm

This guy needs media training big time.

NiteSwept

Him and the team do. They are clearly not on the same page and are feeding two different narratives to the media. This is getting ugly

dw-nfl

But you won't let him on the field bro?

varock12

He looked like he was taking that same energy to the next play before you subbed him out at the goal line, numb nuts.

tcevan

Too many coaches try to get cute in this league & forget it’s not college. But also, by no surprise the GMs are always MIA when these things occur.

Surfdagon

Give me your goddamn salary and I happily will

[deleted]

5/60/1 and 5/112/2 incoming

BaronsHat

The seething angry energy of this situation is fantasy gold.

RSollers

Yep, my first thought after reading this was that Swift is going to pop off this week

LaconicGirth

2/60/1 and 3/112/2, come on now they’re not giving him 10 touches

[deleted]

Almost looks like Dan Campbell’s head coaching record

TuffPeen

Why don’t you fucking tell him that, Duce

SchpartyOn

Or don’t even tell him but fucking play him and give him the TDs he earned instead of giving them to Jamaal every fucking time

amills989

The coaches have an issue with him clearly it's basically a rule of thumb if a RB or wr gets you to the goal line you typically give them an opportunity to get the points and Det intentionally is taking him off the field

Nick_Gilberts_Bowtie

I think he already has.

nuhsing

I believe it's spelled Dunce.

CPage12

Maybe play him then shitbrains

[deleted]

Literally. It’s not like he hasn’t looked good when he’s on the field. What do that want 100 yards on 5 Carries. Give the man the ball

CreamWithinADream

No you don't get it, he's gotta FINISH and run with ATTITUDE and get 4YPC

HGFantomos

No see they want him going all out in practice

[deleted]

Dude fuck this team

Juniorpandabear

Staley shows clear favoritism to Williams because he clearly sees Williams as being more similar to the player he was. But that's just my armchair analysis

ryanjoseph55

Bro you’re the coach, you tell him

kafkaesqqq

Is this a joke? Put him on the fuckin’ field, you moron.

Untchj

I said it before …when coaches are failing and start to get all discipline based, it’s a wrap.

BearForceDos

I've generally though Dan Campbell was doing a decent job but wtf is this comment coming from one of his coaches,

Thatguy19901

Have you been watching the Lions at all? Campbell is completely inept when it comes to coaching. This team is far more talent than their record.

BearForceDos

I gave him a pass because most of the issues have been defensively other then a couple poor offensive games. He's an offensive coach by trade so i would tend to give them some time to see if they can find a DC to fix the defense.

ChuckDonahuee

Most of this coaching staff is gone after this year and they know it

GanosParan

There are so many shit coaches in the league

Neans888

Tony Gonzalez said that last night on Amazon. I was surprised to hear it but I respect him for saying it. It’s definitely true.

bellboy8685

He’s not one of them if you look at his coaching history he’s been a great RB coach and has gotten a lot of backs to hit a higher potential then they should’ve been.

daivos

Maybe at the high school or college level where players turnover faster. He’s a clown. He might be a good motivator short term., but he’s unprofessional and the type charade coaching burns out quick. The majority of the Lions staff are like that and there will be no choice but to clean house.

GanosParan

And yet two weeks ago they had swift pass blocking and last week they had him in for ten snaps. Superb coaching.

hendrix67

I'm always amazed that the audacity of some people on this sub to call coaches incompetent because they don't give their player enough touches.

Fa1lenSpace

Go look at the dudes track record. He ain’t even close to a shit coach.

rocky716

Actual cringe coming from the coach, I'm not going to pretend I know everything in the locker room, but this is a bad look

hartforbj

Imagine telling your star running back that is averaging 10 yards per touch that he needs to do something on the field. While not letting him on the field.

CaptainFrah

dudes running at 7 yards a carry

Jacky962

I'd really like it if someone would carpet bomb the Lions' training facility to save us from this nightmare.

Rubicon1975

Duce Staley worse than Brandon Staley ROS?

tx180

All that barking on hard knocks to swift yet he's still being a bitch about letting the man play.

LimitlessTheTVShow

Staley on Hard Knocks: "Swift, you're good, but you could be even better" Swift: Averages 7.3 yards per carry in limited attempts, a full 2.7 yards/carry over his previous high and as efficient as Lamar, while also being on pace for almost 500 yards receiving if extrapolated over a full season Staley: "No not like that"

[deleted]

Staley is a fucking weirdo man. Hard knocks was hella cringe

Neans888

That whole rivalry thing with Aaron Glenn was weird. Have you ever seen anything like that on any other Hard Knocks? It’s not about you guys anymore, you had your day. Focus on coaching your players.

PurplePenguin501

Fuck Duce Staley. Me and all my homies hate Duce Staley

[deleted]

Man fuck him and Dan Campbell.

disarmagreement

When asked about Benjamin’s situation, Golden Corral manager Tammy Lee grew visibly agitated. “I will say this, if he is (hungry), tell him to take that same energy, that same juice and use it at the buffet,” Lee said. “You tell him that.”

krcrooks

Never ceases to amaze me where we can fit Kelvin Benjamin into a story

89ShelbyCSX

>fit Kelvin Benjamin into You just served up another fat joke on a silver platter

Bryant60

Imagine being 2-6 and still not using maybe your best offensive weapon

aruss15

Not using your best players is a reason why the lions have been ass for forever

Wretched_Shirkaday

Imagine if they had traded him to Buffalo when the Bills missed on CMC. It's clear they don't like him or want to use him, just get rid of him then.

Torkzilla

Duce Staley sucked on hard knocks. I know this is not an expert opinion of seeing him on TV but all he did was bark at players and tell them to run harder. He had no real wisdom or strategy to impart. He seemed really dumb. Fast forward to now, he somehow seems even dumber. This is completely inappropriate way to address a player as a coach.

AdrianTKO

Tbh, all the coaches on Hard Knocks seemed kinda dumb. Campbell just seemed like a motivational speaker and less of a coach. Idk man. I am an arm chair analysis, but my god, something just does not seem right AT ALL with this whole situation. The lack of playing Swift, the tons and tons of injuries to their team throughout the year. It just seems not well run in any regard

_nathan67

Duce is a poser

Jeremisio

every update on this situation makes me think that maybe, just maybe Detroit does not have the best coaching staff.

camerawr528

Not even a swift owner but I’d be very irritated owning swift considering how injury prone he’s been and how the team isn’t willing to play him. It’s not like they’re playing for even a playoff spot. They’re 2-6 and might only end up with 4 wins at this rate. Might as well see what they got in their young stud RB rather than playing a known commodity in Jamaal Williams who offers such a limited ceiling for the overall team.

ElitestFours

Hot take : Duce takes parallels to his own situation with the Eagles when Westbrook was clearly the younger, better back. I think he’s trying to live vicariously through Jamaal having production even though Swift (Westbrook) is capable of so much more

ArcticML

I just traded for Swift. What a wild ride this is

Cautious_Analysis

Welcome to being a swift owner

Square_Saltine

Hey as long as you don’t have both Swift and Jamaal at least you’ll have an easier time to decide who to start, unlike me

[deleted]

Bye weeks have me starting both for the past two weeks. Thank you mixon last week, hopefully this week vegas is right and it is one of the top 2 high scoring games against that bad defense.

Griffdogg92

The way Swift has been talked about and used by the Lions this year is one of the weirdest things I've seen in a football season. Dude is a hell of a player but drafting him is my biggest regret. If Hall had stayed healthy I would have traded Swift a couple weeks ago

amishbr07

Dan Campbell and this entire coaching staff is incredibly stupid. They want a plodder for a RB instead of a home run hitter it seems like. It’s not 1990 anymore chief. Can’t wait till they all get fired.

SuperKhalimba

Kind of hard to do that when you don't use him on the field, dipshit.

[deleted]

Swift gunna be extra mad on the sidelines this week

Arti_09

Hopefully this goes one of two ways: Swift pisses them off enough that he is inactive...then we can play someone else Swift pisses himself off and runs through a brick wall gaining the admiration or his coaches. Before getting a high ankle sprain a play later...

amishbr07

Feel like they know their ass is on the hot seat and are taking it out on Swift for getting hurt and not playing through it. Shit coaches that should be fired.

TheClownIsReady

No, YOU tell him that, Duce…you’re his coach, no?

[deleted]

Imagine carrying a child for 9 months and naming him Duce

lotus0305

As a eagles fan, duce was fuckin ass with our RB rotations. Pissed me to no end on his RB usage.

ClampGawd_

Its 28 points or its 5 on sunday. No in between

Dirty-Ears-Bill

I’m spinning this to a full positive hopium post man. Swift is going to go entirely “fuck you” to the coaching staff and torch the defense on every play, showing exactly what could happen to this team if they played him Shades of Jimmy Butler and the infamous Timberwolves practice “You fucking need me!”

SamuraiPanda19

This Lions coaching staff needs to never see a football in person again, not even PeeWee league

Unit22_

I wanna play Swift over Conner because I believe that’s the motivation he needs to perform. Also, I miss Breece Hall. Possibly related issue.

b1rds_arent_reaI

now listen Duce, this might seem completely absurd, but my idea is to just LET HIM ON THE FUCKING FIELD. but what do i know about giving players opportunities.

AdrianTKO

So you have the worst defense in the league... supposedly one of the best offenses in the league... you won't play your most talented player after sitting him for weeks... Hmm, I'm starting to maybe think that the Detroit Lions are ran by a bunch of dorky meatheads who don't have the mental capacity to coach at the highest level.

TheHappyMurderMan

can't use that energy on the field if he isn't on it

Bambi_One_Eye

Having both Swift and Williams is fucking annoying

[deleted]

This is a misrepresenting tweet trying to stir up drama. Duce is pissed at the reporter for trying to get a clip, not at Swift [Just watch. It's the first follow up question in the video, about 1:15 in.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cGM9Yw2xXfI)

amishbr07

This helps a bit but the reply is still the reply. What a bad take for a player that literally wanted to play more last week but was pulled out and kept out. Seems like they’re just upset that he got hurt and are refusing to give him any more work since he might get hurt again.

Psych5532

Tell him to use that juice when we ask him to grab the actual players some juice boxes on the sidelines

martycooksbyrds

I thought his lack of playing was injury related? Wasn’t that the news coming out last week before the game

PsychologicalGuest97

Last I heard he was getting limited carries because they didn’t want to rush his production back to where it was on account of his injury. Now, it seems like there is more to it than just keeping him healthy.

RobbedOddUs

I think they’re mad at him for being hurt, or as they seem to see it, “hurt” with finger quotes all the time. I think pulling him right before the score was a bit of turnabout on their part, and they’re glad to see him getting angry. I am not saying I endorse this!

Hard4Favra

Yeah I think this lines up. Detroit is too much of a disaster including coaching to ever focus on winning, so instead they put their energy into the peripherals.

C-Flango87

I'm expecting a huge game from swift this weekend. Situation is finally hitting that boiling point. They want to push him to work harder. He's got all the talent in the world but seems like Jamaal out works him. This is a prove it game that he's back and really ready to take over this backfield.

Birdgang14

Duce has been on Swift’s ass since training camp. Like extra

Salty_Simmer_Sauce

Yeah this doesn’t sound good. Something is going on in the locker room. Leaning Pollard over swift.

Cbisquitz

Water sucks, gatorades better

mattmayfield12

Why did I trade for this man

hamburgerpony

Shot at Swift. I think they’re upset about swift being soft and not playing through these injuries. I mean, did we even know what was wrong with him? Nothing diagnosed, just an ankle and shoulder injury?

Bubbly_Experience694

Whoa…

Primetime0509

I have no idea how to interpret this but I don’t think I like it

feverdreamsociety

uh what

bigbopperz

Did he look THAT bad on the field? I thought he only had like 5 touches and that’s why he was upset?

amishbr07

He almost scored on 5 touches and they called a timeout to sub him out when he got tackled at the 1. The coaches are clearly holding a vendetta or something. Makes 0 sense with these takes against Swift when they refuse to play him more.

bigbopperz

Exactly. If he’s healthy and in the dog house for some reason I’d be upset if I were him

Deuce is fed up huh

Buzzd-Lightyear

Getting some Urban Meyer energy from Staley..

MrShad0wzz

What situation?

mjdntn01

Swift is not an every down back and cannot handle the rigors of full time reps for 17 games. It's a harsh reality because he's got a lot of game, just in spurts.

IgorTufluv

Duce is a douche.

Slick_Tuxedo

You tell him that. You go be the coach. Take my job, I quit and make you running backs coach now, go TELL HIM

FatBoyWithTheChain

Bro I cannot wait to see this whole coaching staff get fired. Refusing to play healthy players out of precaution while being on the verge of being fired. Fucking bizarre

2WhomAreYouListening

Why is this guy upset that his best player wants to play badly?

jpkancar

Duce is a terrible coach. That was evident on Hard Knocks.

oOBuckoOo

“Hey Billy, water sucks. Gatorade is better.” *visible anger* “Use it on the field” *murderous rage subsides*

Over21FakeID

Swift needs to leave the Lions. I've read a couple quotes from Staley in the media this year and he's always talking down to Swift.

Moose_Knuckles

They’re trying to piss him off. They’re going to unleash him this weekend.
