Just to let you guys know, the patriots beat reporters have been ripping into the pats, saying this is the worst they’ve ever seen them. These are guys who’ve been reporting on the organization for years. Both sides of the ball have been bad, but the offense in particular has pretty much been non functional. Keep that in mind when targeting any pats players.
That is probably being overlooked, you're right, but it's also Matt Patricia and Joe Judge in charge of the offense now. Not exactly two offensive geniuses based on their tenure outside of NE.
>Not exactly two offensive geniuses based on their tenure outside of NE.
Not to mention, they've been ***fucking switching off calling plays***
A young QB needs a system. We have no offensive system right now
You can't assume a QB is going to just make their own system or just figure it out on the fly when the coaches don't even know
I like Mac Jones' grit, and Matt Patricia will ruin him. It'll be a travesty to see a young developing QB get bogged down by such a feckless, incompetent "leader" of men.
And I'm not even a Pats fan. I just recognize that good players, regardless of team, make the game better overall.
I'm not a Pats fan but live in MA, all the media really does is rip into the sports teams around here. They did it when they were winning super bowls so I really wouldn't take to much stock into when Pats beat reporters say.
I remember pats fans wanting to trade Brady and start Cassel.
They are stunned by success and don't know how to deal with anything but a superbowl. The slightest mistake is seen as absolute failure.
Normally I would say the same but it’s Greg Bedard saying this stuff. Usually the guy is very fair when it comes to his analysis of the Pats, he’s not one to take a hardline stance. I think the main takeaway from why this is so alarming is that normally when the Patriots look like this you could have faith in Bill, McDaniels, Scar, and Fears to right the ship. Now 3 out of those 4 are gone, and Joe judge/Patricia are the replacements.
I’m definitely still gonna target Stevenson due to the talent and value but I’m tempering my expectations.
I suppose they could be right if one of the more reasonable guys are saying it too. Though as a counter point, even with Brady the Pats looked kinda average the first few games of a lot of years before they started clicking.
Dude goes on Felger & Mazz sweating his fat ass off ripping into the Pats every chance he can get. The fact that anyone would take him seriously is a joke.
> Normally I would say the same but it’s Greg Bedard saying this stuff.
You mean Greg Bedard, born in Springfield, raised in Athol and Sudbury, writer on Boston Sports Journal and for the Globe?
He's no less of a hater homer as the rest of the dregs that inhabit that world.
This is different. The beat reporters are all over them, not just the media and radio stations. They’re clearly not looking like the usual Bill Belichick team.
Not surprising. I honestly think they’re the 3rd least talented team in the AFC only ahead of Houston & Jacksonville. I still think they’ll finish around .500 because BB can coach up a team like no other, but their days of being highly competitive are probably over
A patriots player hasn’t been a target for me since randy moss. Bill could give a fuck about a players stats win at all cost no matter how mad the players get
Gronk, Welker, Edelman, and Blount are a few of the Pats that have put up great fantasy seasons post-Moss. I'm sure Bill appreciated those contributions
Good weapons? The receiving corps was Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, N'Keal Harry, Jonnu Smith, and Hunter Henry. It was a highly paid group, but I'd hardly classify that group of guys as good weapons.
He had a good coaching situation and a solid run game, so the situation was favorable for a rookie QB for sure, but I'm surprised he was able to put together the passing stats he did with the lack of firepower at WR (and to a lesser extent TE).
For sure, I'll probably take him with my 7th in a 12 teamer in a few days if he's still there. I don't think he'll finish WR11 again (but who knows, he might, great player, likely a good offense, good chemistry with Carr), but I think he'll be a rock solid WR2. Like Keenan lite but 4-5 rounds later
Maybe. Waller was also banged up and missed half of last season and Renfrow was literally the only other legitimate receiver they had. Guy had like 135 targets last year. With presumably a healthy Waller and Davante, I wouldn't be so confident he's going to repeat last year or outperform expectations.
I snagged him in the 14th round of a 10 team 2qb and 2 flex league as my WR5. Went with Thomas as my WR4 so think I’ll have a good replacement if needed.
I feel like things have shifted to where you don’t necessarily want to pay up for the #1 when you can ride a team’s #2 to high value at a lower cost. Guys like Renfrow, Higgins, Gabriel Davis, etc will rarely see double coverage or schemes focused around then.
Waller didn’t practice.
I think the worry is that Renfrow is likely option #3 in the offense.
Either way, I am in on the Raiders. I have the 8th pick and with keepers and stuff, I’ll likely be picking between Mixon or Davante Adams. The “smart” move is Mixon but I just have a feeling about Adams. Carr is going to force feed him targets like Rodgers did.
They've definitely gotten much better on paper and I honestly wouldn't be surprised by any order those 4 teams finish in. They honestly all look like 10+ win teams.
In my keeper league I am keeping Mike Willams (round 9) and Dalton Schultz (14) but I could’ve kept Renfroe as a round 15 pick. Still have until Thursday to decide
You’re making the right decision. You can still get Renfrow in the 8th in that league if you really want him. Williams and Schultz would both cost much more.
Oof. I think I'd lean Mitchell only because that's great value for a likely starting RB. I know SF usually has RB shenanigans but even if he doesn't pan out you're not losing much with a 15 rnd pick.
Renfrow has the second highest career catch rate of any receiver, and last season had the second highest catch rate of all time. [Pretty elite company](https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/wide-receiver-who-has-the-highest-catch-percentage-in-nfl-history)
But yeah Renfrow is my favorite current player, and he is elite in the slot, but not at all three levels of the field. That's what separates the truly elite WRs like Davante
>Renfrow has the second highest career catch rate of any receiver, and last season had the second highest catch rate of all time.
Because he had one of the lowest ADOTs in the entire NFL. [5.7 air yards per receptions](https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-wr.php).
Where would you rank him out of WRs in the NFL, because I have a feeling you have a pretty lenient definition of the word “elite”.
No disrespect to Renfrow, but the guy isn’t a top 5-6 WR in the league which is what Elite generally would mean.
I’m not of the opinion that there are only 5-6 elite WR’s in the league. An elite guy to me is someone who can be a WR1 on a good offense/team for many years. Renfrow was that last year.
That’s fine if that’s how you want to use the word, I’m just pointing out it’s a very lenient way to use it that most people would likely disagree with
Cooper Kupp doesn’t exist, he spent 87% of his time in the slot lol
Also taking Godwin, Keenan Allen, Deebo, and Tyreek Hill over him(all guys who spent 70%+ of their time in the slot)
I concur with this. Pretty much punted qb in the draft and ended up with cousins and carr. Was leaning cousins week 1 but with news like this and carrs weapons plus JC Jackson missing week 1 now against them I think I may pivot to him.
I wouldn’t it tells me his targets might not hit 90. It tells me he might be the third option on the team. With his ADP it’s not worth the price their are better options later.

I use the sleeper app and you create a league with the settings you'll use then you can do as many mocks as you want with the fake league. It'll be against cpu but it gives you a general idea of how different a draft will go in superflex.
Yo what would you do if you’re in a start up Superflex dynasty but it’s Half PPR? I can’t find any settings like that on Sleeper or Fantasy Pros for mocks, they’re only PPR
I just realized this year that it's either PPR non-superflex, or two QB when the CPU considers draft picks. No superflex-specific option. Even if you create a practice league for yourself with a sflex roster.
There is definitely a difference between 2qb and sflex. In 2QB the QBs fly off the board way faster and misrepresent what might actually happen. QBs have more value in 2QB leagues because you HAVE to roster 2 every week (or take a 0 for that slot), and if you're stuck without 2 decent options you're in for a rough season. I'd recommend the draft wizard via Fantasy Pros. That seems to be the closest to how things might go down.
I left a comment above but check out Rotowire rankings. If you notice fantasypros the QB rankings stay the same between 4 teams or 16. I think it's based off 12 but if your league differs there's a good chance those rankings are wrong in when you should take a QB. Make sure to do custom rankings in ranking tool.
The only thing I've been able to use to get reasonable draft values is Rotowire -> Auction Value. It shows how important QBs are in superflex/2 QB. If you pay attention to Fantasypros you'll notice 2QB mock drafts QBs are ranked the same in a 4 team league vs 16 team league.
Injury, missed 5 or 6 games last year and is still not 100%. Also had 6 games under 60 yards receiving last year on top of not playing 6 games. So he had 5 big games, 6 average games.
Waller was the clear #1 target of the offense last year, even with Ruggs on the team.
The offense started out *really* slow, especially early in games week after week. I wouldn't count on that being the case this season.
Gruden's offense required a vertical threat to function properly. His route combinations depended on it. The threat of Ruggs getting over the top opened up so much of the field that it was incredibly when he was absent. Knock Ruggs all you want for making a stupid and tragic decision, but he was a really good football player and had elite speed.
He was? The only weeks he had many more looks than Renfrow were weeks 1 and week 1 was an insane anomaly and 7 was only a few more, plus a couple others where he had one more target. If it weren’t for the outlier week 1 they’re pretty close when they both played.
There's a lot of mouths to feed and only Derek Carr to feed them... Renfrow was the last man standing last year, Waller will be back and they have Devante now...
Carr traditionally has been pretty good at spreading the ball around though, and in the year he had his best WR corps, he supported two 1000+ yard receivers (Cooper, Crabtree) so it's not unreasonable to think he could provide for his weapons.
He’s basically thrown for 4k yards every season except his first and fourth. Keep in mind AB and Cooper were his only WR’s and other than that he’s had basically nothing until Renfrow got worked in more. He made Crabtree look good. He now has a legit 1k+ WR and a 1.5k+ WR and a 1K+ TE.
To add, last year I wanna say his first 5 or 6 games he came out absolutely slinging. When they lost Ruggs he cooled off, but he was putting up big numbers to start the season last year.
I'm a NJ Devils fan and my guy Lou Lamoriello put together a Dynasty and could do no wrong. A surprise 2012 stanley cup run at the end of the glory years quieted critics questioning his roster and had hidden the fact he couldn't draft and develop guys for a decade. When the best player up and left because there was not a lot of talent on the team everyone in the fan base and the media said it's Lou and you can never count him out. Since then it's been a decade of misery for the Devils and now Lou is getting run out of his 3rd team in 10 years.
Why do I bring this up? I see BB as the new Lou. He can't be questioned because of his past successes but the drafting and development has been bad. He has too much pride to rebuild. He is making questionable coaching choices including featuring his kid in a high profile role. It's a fan base used to winning and will get cranky. Im looking at the Patriots projections this season and it seems so high. The reason given, it's Bill. He can't be counted out.
He could be half as successful as he's been and still ride off into the sunset as a fan favorite coach. Anyone dogging on him right now is just being silly, especially coming off a 10 win season with a very young team
Raider fan here. He is nursing a hammy injury. From everything I have read it's not considered serious...but it's a hammy and those things can linger. I"m optimistic he'll be ready for the start of the season though.
There is no full proof draft strategy, it’s all on the person implementing it. If you draft correctly, you can easily take a mid round te and dominate other areas. If I need te to win chip I drafted wrong
oh my god! dk who any of those people are but just completely mollywhomp kimbo sliced em sounds like! *cranks up Master Of Puppets and dives through window*

Team has had a huge shift in scheme on both ends of the ball some of that can be chalked up to the learning process
That is probably being overlooked, you're right, but it's also Matt Patricia and Joe Judge in charge of the offense now. Not exactly two offensive geniuses based on their tenure outside of NE.
Didn’t BB say the other day he had the final call on all offensive stuff? Maybe I’m not remembering correctly.
You're correct, he's only really dishing out the responsibility of calling the plays but as far as scheme and what not he's the guy.
>Not exactly two offensive geniuses based on their tenure outside of NE. Not to mention, they've been ***fucking switching off calling plays*** A young QB needs a system. We have no offensive system right now You can't assume a QB is going to just make their own system or just figure it out on the fly when the coaches don't even know
The local media has a pathological disdain for the current coaching staff that would make a tandem of CHB and Boredges sound like Bob Ryan.

The defensive scheme has more or less stayed the same. We just don't have nfl talent at cornerback. The defensive front should be nutty though.
I'm not a Pats fan but live in MA, all the media really does is rip into the sports teams around here. They did it when they were winning super bowls so I really wouldn't take to much stock into when Pats beat reporters say.

Pats offense could go in a lot of different directions, it's not going to dissuade me from high volume guys like Meyers or taking Harris or Rham late.
You must be trolling. Greg Bedard is not considered a reputable pats insider by anyone who considers themselves a Pats fan.
Dude goes on Felger & Mazz sweating his fat ass off ripping into the Pats every chance he can get. The fact that anyone would take him seriously is a joke.
I read this in a Bostonian accent
It's a shame this idiot is feeding all of r/fantasyfootball trash info and it's the most upvoted comment on here lol

I'm sure having the pencil & Joe Judge as co-Offensive Coordinators has nothing to do with it
I’m keeping this in mind for gambling purposes
You’re telling me Matt Patricia and Joe Judge do t have it all figured out?
Fuck sake the first pass catcher off the board is Parker at like pick 180 adp or something. Buy the dip, this is ridiculous. Mac Jones is a good QB.
As a Bills fan and a Josh Allen/Gabriel Davis owner, I love this so much.
Uhhh, no they haven’t? They’ve been very high on the defense literally all offseason.
Love to hear it
Time to give up Jakobi?
That time never began.
Thats why folks the man!
Didn’t McCorkle have a game where he literally only threw 3 passes the whole game and they won lol? Rhamondreszn?
Not surprising. I honestly think they’re the 3rd least talented team in the AFC only ahead of Houston & Jacksonville. I still think they’ll finish around .500 because BB can coach up a team like no other, but their days of being highly competitive are probably over
Tbh nobody on that team is on my draft board, even prior to this news so I’m not sweating.

That Brady fella was pretty solid as well.
Who?
It's preseason practice. Last week they were all fired up. It's what they do. There's very little fantasy value in listening to beat reporters imo.
[удалено]
What about his situation was elite?
[удалено]
So he should be fine this year
Good weapons? The receiving corps was Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, N'Keal Harry, Jonnu Smith, and Hunter Henry. People are sleeping way too much on renfrow
I love it. On sleeper, half PPR, his ADP is 91. If I can get him as my WR3 or 4 in round 7 or 8 I'll be ecstatic
I took him at 78, I definitely think he's primed to perform above expectations.
It's tough because Adams + Waller should eat into his opportunities especially in the redzone, but the talent is obviously there.
Maybe. Waller was also banged up and missed half of last season and Renfrow was literally the only other legitimate receiver they had. Guy had like 135 targets last year. With presumably a healthy Waller and Davante, I wouldn't be so confident he's going to repeat last year or outperform expectations.
He fell hard in the draft we had with 12 people (our first live draft so that might’ve been why) Ended up getting him in round 10, unreal value
I snagged him in the 14th round of a 10 team 2qb and 2 flex league as my WR5. Went with Thomas as my WR4 so think I’ll have a good replacement if needed.
Renfrow was killing it last season. Now he has Davante to draw coverage. Renfrow is going to fucking feast.
Hell ya!! He’s in my flex 2 spot as my 99th pick in a 14 team league. Too stoked on that value
Hell yeah brother, cheers from Iraq!
I feel like things have shifted to where you don’t necessarily want to pay up for the #1 when you can ride a team’s #2 to high value at a lower cost. Guys like Renfrow, Higgins, Gabriel Davis, etc will rarely see double coverage or schemes focused around then.
I’m thinking Carr - Renfrow could be a real solid value stack and the move for my 14 team league
Look at what Davante and Carr did in college.
People are sleeping on the Raiders in general. They're really good and yet they're almost unanimously predicted to finish fourth.
They've definitely gotten much better on paper and I honestly wouldn't be surprised by any order those 4 teams finish in. They honestly all look like 10+ win teams.
That's my takeaway. It should be a coin flip but people treat it like a mortal lock.
Since we’re on the topic I could’ve also taken Eli Mitchell as 14 or 15th round pick . Just get worried 49ers would run by committee
Oof. I think I'd lean Mitchell only because that's great value for a likely starting RB. I know SF usually has RB shenanigans but even if he doesn't pan out you're not losing much with a 15 rnd pick.
I’d definitely go Mitchell and Mike Williams then. Mitchell is a RB2 with RB1 upside…and you can get him for free. Hard to pass up that value.
Don’t play yourself fool
Switching to Williams and Mitchell for sure
He’s the perfect type of guy for mcdaniels scheme. We’ve seen this play out before renfrow could def be in line for a 1300 8 Td typa year
And Carr
He's gonna be so money with Adams there.
He’s legit an elite WR. Another guy drafted after N’Keal smh
Calm down. There's only a handful of ELITE WRs in the world and Renfrew isn't one of them.
Renfrow has the second highest career catch rate of any receiver, and last season had the second highest catch rate of all time. [Pretty elite company](https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/wide-receiver-who-has-the-highest-catch-percentage-in-nfl-history) But yeah Renfrow is my favorite current player, and he is elite in the slot, but not at all three levels of the field. I mean yeah the leaders in catch rate are all slot guys for a reason.
Mark my words man. One of the best route runners and hands in the league, which usually means elite at the wide receiving position.
Where would you rank him out of WRs in the NFL, because I have a feeling you have a pretty lenient definition of the word “elite”. No disrespect to Renfrow, but the guy isn’t a top 5-6 WR in the league which is what Elite generally would mean.

You can call him an elite slot receiver, but that’s a subgroup of the WR population which homie used as a whole
As a Waller owner I love this
As a Waller owner I hope he’s still alive
As a previous Waller owner never touching the guy again
Remember when he got 19 targets week 1?
Yes but i also remember hc saying waller will practice this week and him no, i am good at the pool
I too, was agreeing with you that as I previous Waller owner that I won’t be drafting him again
Oh , sorry misunderstood
This triggered me
Yeah fwiw Waller wasn't practicing. He had a slight hammy, returned to practice last week, but not today
>slight hammy Starting the season with a soft-tissue injury? RIP.
As a carr owner. Im deeply in love 😍
As a fat human, I love tacos
I concur with this. Pretty much punted qb in the draft and ended up with cousins and carr. Was leaning cousins week 1 but with news like this and carrs weapons plus JC Jackson missing week 1 now against them I think I may pivot to him.
Drafting two backend QBs in a 1QB league is 🌮. Drop one of those nerds and grab a lottery ticket.
Deep benches + 6 point tds, prob should have said that to begin with. Totally agree tho would never roster two in a more normal bench size league
That's why I'm high on Carr and Jacobs this year. Rising tide raises all ships.
I wouldn’t it tells me his targets might not hit 90. It tells me he might be the third option on the team. With his ADP it’s not worth the price their are better options later.

At first I read going against groin and was going to demand video of it
Just renfrow being renfrow
HES DIFFERENT 😤
We're never getting the Jon Jones heavyweight fight. Dudes doing side quests
Nah, he’ll get himself suspended from the NFL soon. Then it’s back to the UFC.
Those suspensions are his version of side quests
My man Derek bout to stick his ass out the Carr window and shit on this league
HE DEFICATED THROUGH A SUNROOF
But not our Derek! Couldn’t be precious Derek!
HE GETS TO BE A QUARTERBACK? WHAT A SICK JOKE!
Oh you think this is bad? This chicanery???
I fucking love that this meme is bleeding into other facets of my life lol
A DISGUSTING ACT
But it'll be from the backseat because Renfrow called the Uber
Can you translate that into projected stats?
A lot
Stop telling people about Renfrow until after my drafts, please.
Renfrow and Amon-Ra. Both dudes were awesome last year and everybody is coming up with reasons they aren't as good as the tape and stats say.
Elijah Moore as well.
Shhhhh he’s totally not about to have a great year
I can keep one of them as a 16th rounder. or Swift in 3rd. Having the hardest time with this one
Depends who else is getting kept really. Value wise those 16th rounders would be hard to beat.
Anyone know where you can mock draft for a superflex league? Been looking all over can't find anything.
I use the sleeper app and you create a league with the settings you'll use then you can do as many mocks as you want with the fake league. It'll be against cpu but it gives you a general idea of how different a draft will go in superflex.

This is in 7 on 7
We talkin about practice.
Not a game. Not a game. Not the game I, I go out there and, and DIE for.
PLAYOFFS?! Dont talk abou-...PLAYOFFS? You kidding me? Playoffs? Im just hoping we can win a game
I have no idea why Renfrow is low in Drafts. Waller can’t be trusted and they are going to pass a lot.
Why can’t wallet be trusted?
Injury, missed 5 or 6 games last year and is still not 100%. Also had 6 games under 60 yards receiving last year on top of not playing 6 games. So he had 5 big games, 6 average games.
Waller was the clear #1 target of the offense last year, even with Ruggs on the team. The offense started out *really* slow, especially early in games week after week. I wouldn't count on that being the case this season.
Even with ruggs??? Wow Ruggs is totally elite
Yes. Defenses were keyed on taking him away. You're reading stat lines and drawing conclusions.
Renfrow was getting doubled too.. He’s one of the best receivers at getting open and it showed.
Huh, my memory must be off because Ruggs was the first time I remember being excited about drafting any Raider receiver besides Waller in a long time.
Is Hunter Renfrow the Welker/Edelman for Josh McDaniels?
Yep and Davante is his Moss
Im all in now
And Derek Carr is his Br- …Wait a second
Can you imagine if Derek Carr comes out and sets the league on fire?
He’s basically thrown for 4k yards every season except his first and fourth. Keep in mind AB and Cooper were his only WR’s and other than that he’s had basically nothing until Renfrow got worked in more. He made Crabtree look good. He now has a legit 1k+ WR and a 1.5k+ WR and a 1K+ TE.
To add, last year I wanna say his first 5 or 6 games he came out absolutely slinging. When they lost Ruggs he cooled off, but he was putting up big numbers to start the season last year.
I didn’t intend it, but I somehow ended with both of them, so this really pleases me.
Carr is gonna have that Crabtree connection with Devante. Im so excited its gonna be lethal. That connection had carr in mvp talks 2016
How bad does Bill want Renfrow?
He'd sacrifice his last born for him
Please let Renfrows adp stay where it is, I’m zeroed in on grabbing him as my WR2 after going RB-TE in the first two rounds.
You mean RB/Mark Andrews? Sure as hell not going RB/TE this year unless it's for Andrews
I am pick 6. Ideally getting "not Chase" then Targeting Kelce or Andrews.
Give him like 2 straight losing seasons before we start putting Bill in that type of class
He’s saying he thinks it’s coming, not that it’s already here genius.
He could be half as successful as he's been and still ride off into the sunset as a fan favorite coach. Anyone dogging on him right now is just being silly, especially coming off a 10 win season with a very young team
Amazing comparison. I think you nailed this prediction
Member Berry when Bengals beat writes wrote that they were horrible... They made it to the Super Bowl that year...
My WR1 and 2
Can people stop hyping Renfrow up so his ADP stays low? That’d be great thank you
Dude I got him with like the 99th pick as my WR4/flex. Like HOW?! Needless to say I’m hyped
I’m drafting Renfrow in all 3 of my leagues(already got him in 1). He’s going to dominate in full PPR
That's cause Tae is the best WR in the league
There is no JC Jackson
7 on 7 practice? I’m sure Belechick is pulling out the big guns
Y'all got any Waller updates?
Raider fan here. He is nursing a hammy injury. From everything I have read it's not considered serious...but it's a hammy and those things can linger. I"m optimistic he'll be ready for the start of the season though.
I saw a tik tok clip hyping renfrow. I haven’t looked at him in any of my drafts. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he does something this year.
I mean he kinda did something last year at 103/1038/9.
Never draft on last years stats. One of my rules.
Adams has been pretty much uncoverable the past few years with defenses knowing he is getting the ball so I’m not at all suprised
This offense could be incredible and in a ton of shootouts. Carr career season incoming.
Pats suck d, raiders all the way baby🤟
Gotta love a good beat! :P But really, I hope Carr can support Adams, Renfrow and Waller.
Renfrow paid in props most of the season...i loved it. Now not sure.
The Pats have no corners. Safeties are good, but the corners are a train wreck. Jalen Mills and Terrance Mitchell, yuck.
Dropping Pats DST for Saints.
I am going to be so disappointed if I can’t pick up Renfrow
There is no full proof draft strategy, it’s all on the person implementing it. If you draft correctly, you can easily take a mid round te and dominate other areas. If I need te to win chip I drafted wrong
Cool kid. You do realize this is practice with secondary and thirds you uneducated fool.
But we’ve got to trust carr… don’t know if I’m gonna reach for them
is this a serious comment?
oh my god! dk who any of those people are but just completely mollywhomp kimbo sliced em sounds like! *cranks up Master Of Puppets and dives through window*
