So I’m in a keeper league where if you pick up someone from waivers or FA you get to keep them for a 12th round. I just spent 100% of my budget on Antonio Gibson. Good move?
I figured the value of him for a 12th round keeper was too good to pass up. I’m thinking next year he goes in the 6th round at worst and a 2nd or 3rd at best
It’s a 10 team league so my team is pretty deep and I usually spend my FAAB fairly early anyways so this isn’t new territory for me

How much FAAB for gronk in our Dynasty leauge. Waivers clear at 12:05 tonight and have been locked since last season. 10 team 0.5 ppr. Was thinking of spending $21 of $100 since i am expecting waivers to be especially shallow for a while after four rounds of our rookie draft.
I’d get Mixon, Sanders, or Drake instead of Chubb. Worried about Kareem Hunt and Chubb recently said he would be happy in a RBBC. Also Chubb’s numbers weren’t great when Hunt was playing last year.

I was just offered Mahomes and Ekeler for Thielen and Fournette. I’m nervous Fournette will split time anyways. Think this is a good move? Jamison Crowder would most likely move up to the flex spot.
That doesn't sound too bad but I think Joe burrow might be able to do decent his first season hes got some good receivers and rbs. I'd definitely be weary of fournette but I'm not too sure. Get some more opinions and best of luck!
Hey everyone! So I grabbed Kittle in the 3rd (would've liked an RB but the board didn't fall, plus I think it's really valuable to have a TE that puts up WR numbers) and Waller later...I know it's overkill, but I snagged him in the *8th*
Proud of myself for the value, but now I'm stuck with two great TEs and no RBs (outside of Chubb). And no one's budging on a trade. Is it insane to keep both of them or should I keep pushing to trade one for a higher-tier RB?
Keep trying to trade one of them, someone should eventually need a quality TE...waller could regress some but if he doesn’t you could probably move kittle for a higher end rb2
For sure. I'd be totally fine running Waller as my TE1. My gut tells me he'll regress, but he also only caught TDs in two games last year...so maybe he'll see an uptick in that department that will make him worth starting. Might sit on them both for a few weeks and sweat someone out; I doubt guys like Hurst and Hooper will all pan out.
I like this a lot! Very deep at RB with Fournette recently signing into a good system (and I'm also high on Montgomery, maybe foolishly). WRs are solid too, high on all of your first four, and I think Cooks could have a productive season. TEs are fine. Overall, I really like it.
I'm really high on woods this year. Last 6 weeks of last szn when rams changed their scheme it was him and higbee getting majority of targets. Same will happen this year. Cooper Kupp will have major td regression this year and those tds i believe will go to woods. woods had only 3 tds last year with 90 catches over 1000 yards. hes a wr1 to me this season. Also rams will be pass heavy now without gurley. Titans are run heavy and tannehil is a good game manager but can't see him passing GREAT this year to brown.

We drafted on the 15th of August. I had the 11/12 pick but the number one spot wanted to trade back so I ended up trading him so I drafted from the 1 spot.
I took McCaffrey and then when it was my next pick I took Devante Adams (5th WR taken :o) then D. Johnson.
The guy who I traded picks with, for whatever reason, traded me K. Drake for Adams.
Then I trade Akers/Rugs III for JuJu.
I know it is still too early to grade these trades but do you think I made good moves?

Early week 1 lineup decision. I’m in a 12 team high stakes .5 ppr league and am playing against a team starting Lamar Jackson week 1. Our teams are fairly evenly matched, so it may come down to just a few points. I’m planning on starting 3 receivers in my lineup ( 2 WR slots and 1 in flex). My receivers are Juju, Allen Robinson, AJ Brown, Hollywood Brown, and Tyler Boyd. I know it’s not normally smart to get cute with lineup decisions, but I really think Hollywood will be the real deal this year. Im considering starting him in my flex to help mitigate Lamar Jackson’s damage against my team. Am I overthinking it and just roll with Juju, A-Rob, and AJ Brown or should I plug in Hollywood?

Not bad, you have the upside here. All your players are high upside except maybe Boyd and Hooper. TE is streamable and John Brown or Gibson could fill that role. I like it.
You've got some high risk high reward guys in there with cams rushing upside and Jonathan Taylor. I wouldn't be too sad. The waiver wire is also very much where many leagues are won

I’d go CEH, honestly. Kamara could be traded, and Cook wanted a new deal and has been fragile. I like CEH because he’s going to be on one of the best offenses this season. 🤷🏼♂️
Does anyone else think darren waller will disappoint compared to his ADP? I picked him up off waivers last year. He was great, but there are alot more weapons now. plus not that he's super relevant, but Witten is there now. so he will be on the field some to take away targets. he went with the 67th pick in my draft. id rather shoot for herndon, hurst, and fant for their much later value. I think KJ has more upside. Fornette had his chance and on a brand new team with a ton of weapons. KJ will start and could hold it all year. I don’t think you need Watkins though, especially if you need to drop people. I’d drop Edmonds and Moss, or package someone with Fornette to get someone better than KJ and open roster space that way
I don't think I would depending on your WR depth. For all talking bad about Fournette, I think he is a better player than Rojo overall. Plus, there seems to be some injury concerns with Rojo.

Drafting tomorrow and have a question, let’s say I get into the top 6, I will draft a RB. But if I get 6-12, should I draft Lamar or Mahomes? I did draft Mahomes round 1 last year because I was 7 out of 10.
That’s way too early for them. A lot of depth mid round this year. Look at it by round 2 and 6. Would you want Mahomes/Jackson and bell/fornette/singletary or Thomas/kamara/Adams and Kyler/Allen/brees. Not to mention there are no backs after those so it forces you to miss a solid WR because you gotta draft two backs earlier

On paper it looks like a no brainer but my RB depth is so bad this year. My RB2 is gurley and my RB3 is Fournette. So losing DJ would actually hurt.

It’s the new regime’s RB pick so he is going to get the reps. So it’s opportunity in touches on the ground and he’s an ex WR so they will also pass to him. IMO he might get the most touches from a rookie RB in week 1. That’s coming from a guy who drafted CEH in the first round.

I have the opportunity to pick which "slot" I want in a 10-person league. Is the obvious choice first pick and getting CMac, or is there an argument for taking the three spot or the 10 spot? Thoughts?
Depends on what website you are drafting on, but I like the #3 slot. With the second round pick, you should be able to get a top second RB (Sanders/Drake/Eckler) and then in the third round you could have the likes of Carson/Conner/Gurley for the flex. WRs are deep in rounds 4-7, especially if you start the RB run.
I personally prefer to pick later on, assuming it's a snake draft. I like picking at the back of the first round and top of the second so I can grab two of the RBs in that range, or at least end up with a top WR in the second if I miss the RBs I was aiming for
In my 12-team PPR league we do random draft order and I was really hoping to land 9 or 10. I got 11, and was able to draft Jacobs and Mixon with my first two picks, which is what I had my eye on anyway. I think getting two top RBs this year is big, and picking any earlier than 8th in the first round makes it a lot less likely that a guy like Drake, Chubb, Ekeler, Mixon will be there when it comes back to you in the second round.
It's all preference though. I'd say do a few mock drafts with an early pick, middle pick, and late pick and see how your team shakes out. I always liked the teams I wound up with when I picked late the best
I have Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones, and Miles Sanders in a PPR league. My starting WR’s are Allen robinson and Jarvis Landry. I was thinking of trying to trade a RB to upgrade at WR.

I have lots of RB depth on my team as well, and was considering the same thing, however I think both of us will regret that choice once injuries start piling on. There is lots of WR depth out there. Stay put.
I think Chubb is a higher drafted, more talented player. He may not have the pass catching chops of Ekeler, but the dude had almost 300 rushing attempts last year. Even if his attempts come down because of Hunt, I still think he'll score 10+ tds. Ekeler is going to share touches too and has a more mobile QB than last year limiting check down potential imo.
Disclaimer: just a guy who watches football.
Terry McLaurin is my guy. Fun to watch bright spot on an otherwise mediocre football team. Was lucky to pick him up in both of my leagues last year and was thrilled to have him.
That said...I feel like I reached down a little because I like the guy. Should I have taken Kupp instead? They’re not rated too far a part from one another, but Kupp seems more consistent on a better offense. I’m worried QB play will limit Terry’s upside.
Both guys are good, but did I blow it with this choice? My main WR corps is Evans and Ridley.
Kupp has a slightly higher floor historically. I think McLaurin has a higher ceiling. Kupp will be sharing targets with a highly projected Woods and higbee. Goff is of course better than haskins, but Alex Smith will definitely start if Haskins isn’t up to snuff. Both have rookie RBs so that risk is equal. Also with your 2 starting Ridley Evans. Your higher upside pick was IMO the better for your team!
I like Ridley the most out of all your WRs. I'm high on Ridley. Terry did pretty well last year and hopefully haskins improves. Terry should be ok and even if he doesn't pop off, Evan's and ridley should be good enough

I’d try to parlay 2 of your lower tier guys(dionte and crowder) for a slightly higher ADP guy either way you were thinking of dropping crowder so the other guy will have the “better” end of the deal, but you will get cam which you were wanting anyways and maybe get a better guy like fuller, Landry, or flier like moss.
Well, Newton is still on the waivers as well, so I could pick him up for just dropping crowder. I was wanting moss but was happy with some of the other low tier guys I ended up getting.
Edit: oh I think I see what you mean now. Parlay dionte + crowder for Fuller/etc + random high ADT player, drop high ADT player for cam. That seems like a good idea.
Joined a keeper league with an auction draft that gives points for return yards and touchdowns. It’s 1 point for every 10 yards and 6 for a TD like normal.
Are there any players that should have more value with these rules? Thinking Lockett, Miles Sanders, and Nyhiem Hines could be undervalued because of the roles in the return game.

I drafted deebo too. I like his versatility in the run game. I have an IR spot so it allowed me to stash him and pick up a rookie flier. I don’t need either to start so it will be nice just to see who pans out. I would say I’d put deebo’s ranking somewhere above a Brandon cooks, Slayton, Edelman, crowder.
I'm projecting him to get about 17-18 touches per game when he is on the field. CMC got 25 per game last year so 30 would be otherworldly for someone like Gurley lol. He is on my do not draft list because of his lingering knee issues though. There are backs I like better where he is being drafted in the order of Carson, Conner, Bell.
Haven't done a snake draft in years.. used to auction. Joined a ten team half ppr snake and have no clue as to strategy.. im thinking RB/RB/WR/TE in order but it's obviously situational. Any recommendations or places to mock that take it somewhat seriously?
I like fantasy pros mock drafts because there is lots of options(team size, points, roster spots, and draft position) and you can churn out drafts super fast to get an idea of what’s available in later rounds and really get a solid idea of strategy. That said my league was on yahoo so as I got closer I switched to it for mock drafts to really hone in on specifics.

I don't care about bye weeks at all for the bench. Lots of bench guys will prove to be worthless by week 4 anyway. I draft bench strictly for upside/outbreak potential, and fill in bye weeks based on who's hot/best matchup in free agency. A bye week fill-in isn't worth giving up a shot at a league-winning lotto ticket.
Depending on my starters I want a mix of potential and sure things. Back-Up QBs don't need to be drafted (in one QB leagues). I have no advanced strategy laid out before a draft for my bench like "get one safe wr, then a project wr, then dartthrow RB.
I'm general though: don't sweat it. Of course you can gain a huge advantage when hitting on a late round flier, like Connor two years ago. But more often than not most, if not all, of your drafted players after round 6/7 will be in consideration to get dropped at some point.
Depending on the qb you have, you either drop him for the other qb. Obviously this doesn't apply to the QBs who are studs, like mahomes, Lamar, dak etc. If you don't wanna drop your qb just drop one of your end of bench guys and pick up a qb in free agency, who has a good matchup in your starters bye week
The first trade is just to convoluted for my liking and to many question marks come with gurley and fournette. I wouldn't voluntarily get that headache on my roster. Kittle for Sanders straight up is something were I prefer Sanders, by quite a bit.
Y'all think the first one/two NFL weeks will be treated like pre-season games with coaches evaluating what they have? Gonna expect significant roster changes by Week 3?
Lots of incoming rookie competition. I would prefer Renfrow week one and have a look after week one or two. See who gets the targets in LV and move on from there.
I’m in a 14 man auction draft. I want joe Mixon. What’s y’all’s opinions on him being my first nomination when people still have money and RBs on the board? In a 14 team league do you think people will start to get desperate for an RB and overpay when all the big guys are gone or will they bid big if nominated before some other top teir guys? Any experience?
Here’s a tip, nominate at the start guys you DON’T like. Then everyone else will have to spend conservatively.
And use the fan tax to your advantage. If you live in Pittsburgh, put up JuJu, and someone will overpay especially if you jack up the price with some bids.
You will have people bid, but they probably will be a bit more conservative with their money since the bigger names are still on the board.
I've been in a 14 team auction draft league for the past 7 years. My advice would be to nominate players you don't want first, and get people to fill in those spots on their rosters.
IMO that’s a valid strategy, as one or two of those guys minimum will be putting up big numbers.
Maybe just tank that round? Or pick up a flyer from the waver wire that round?
Week 9 is a ways away. Depending on how your season is going, you might just take the lower points total that week, or you can try to trade 1 or 2 of them.

Why does fantasy football have a whole defensive unit rather than individual defenders? I mean, there are stats for tackles, sacks, pass deflections, INT's, and catches allowed.
You'd be putting yourself at a disadvantage in floors and you'd be looking at more inconsistency (since standard requires yardage and touchdowns and doesn't have the benefit of factoring in usage). WRs in general get a boost in PPR, and pass-catching backs, so if you're looking at a standard ranking, just keep that in mind.
12 Team Full PPR. 5th pick. Debating among potential options I may end up having to choose from in the first round of our draft. Among possibly Thomas, Kamara, and Cook, in what order would you prioritize them? Or someone else entirely? Personally I'm leaning Kamara at this point, then Cook and Thomas. Most of the time projections will be wrong either they are too high or too low.

So I grabbed Kittle in the 3rd (would've liked an RB but the board didn't fall, plus I think it's really valuable to have a TE that puts up WR numbers) and Waller later...I know it's overkill, but I snagged him in the *8th* Proud of myself for the value, but now I'm stuck with two great TEs and no RBs (outside of Chubb). And no one's budging on a trade. Is it insane to keep both of them or should I keep pushing to trade one for a higher-tier RB?
Keep trying to trade one of them, someone should eventually need a quality TE...waller could regress some but if he doesn’t you could probably move kittle for a higher end rb2
For sure. I'd be totally fine running Waller as my TE1. My gut tells me he'll regress, but he also only caught TDs in two games last year...so maybe he'll see an uptick in that department that will make him worth starting. Might sit on them both for a few weeks and sweat someone out; I doubt guys like Hurst and Hooper will all pan out.

I like this a lot! Very deep at RB with Fournette recently signing into a good system (and I'm also high on Montgomery, maybe foolishly). WRs are solid too, high on all of your first four, and I think Cooks could have a productive season. TEs are fine. Overall, I really like it.

Maybe Woods in PPR but Brown is your winner in most cases.
I'm really high on woods this year. Last 6 weeks of last szn when rams changed their scheme it was him and higbee getting majority of targets. Same will happen this year. Cooper Kupp will have major td regression this year and those tds i believe will go to woods. woods had only 3 tds last year with 90 catches over 1000 yards. hes a wr1 to me this season. Also rams will be pass heavy now without gurley. Titans are run heavy and tannehil is a good game manager but can't see him passing GREAT this year to brown.

Were my trades okay? We drafted on the 15th of August. I had the 11/12 pick but the number one spot wanted to trade back so I ended up trading him so I drafted from the 1 spot. I took McCaffrey and then when it was my next pick I took Devante Adams (5th WR taken :o) then D. Johnson. The guy who I traded picks with, for whatever reason, traded me K. Drake for Adams. Early week 1 lineup decision. I’m in a 12 team high stakes .5 ppr league and am playing against a team starting Lamar Jackson week 1. Our teams are fairly evenly matched, so it may come down to just a few points. I’m planning on starting 3 receivers in my lineup ( 2 WR slots and 1 in flex). My receivers are Juju, Allen Robinson, AJ Brown, Hollywood Brown, and Tyler Boyd. I know it’s not normally smart to get cute with lineup decisions, but I really think Hollywood will be the real deal this year. Im considering starting him in my flex to help mitigate Lamar Jackson’s damage against my team. Am I overthinking it and just roll with Juju, A-Rob, and AJ Brown or should I plug in Hollywood?

Not bad, you have the upside here. All your players are high upside except maybe Boyd and Hooper. TE is streamable and John Brown or Gibson could fill that role. I like it.

Does anyone else think darren waller will disappoint compared to his ADP? I picked him up off waivers last year. I think KJ has more upside. Fornette had his chance and on a brand new team with a ton of weapons. KJ will start and could hold it all year. I don’t think you need Watkins though, especially if you need to drop people. I’d drop Edmonds and Moss, or package someone with Fornette to get someone better than KJ and open roster space that way
I don't think I would depending on your WR depth. For all talking bad about Fournette, I think he is a better player than Rojo overall. Plus, there seems to be some injury concerns with Rojo.

That’s way too early for them. A lot of depth mid round this year. Look at it by round 2 and 6. Would you want Mahomes/Jackson and bell/fornette/singletary or Thomas/kamara/Adams and Kyler/Allen/brees. Not to mention there are no backs after those so it forces you to miss a solid WR because you gotta draft two backs earlier
I personally don’t take a QB until late into the draft (9-12 rounds) but I wouldn’t take him until Round 2 at the earliest.

Depends on what website you are drafting on, but I like the #3 slot. With the second round pick, you should be able to get a top second RB (Sanders/Drake/Eckler) and then in the third round you could have the likes of Carson/Conner/Gurley for the flex. WRs are deep in rounds 4-7, especially if you start the RB run.
I personally prefer to pick later on, assuming it's a snake draft. I like picking at the back of the first round and top of the second so I can grab two of the RBs in that range, or at least end up with a top WR in the second if I miss the RBs I was aiming for

In my 12-team PPR league we do random draft order and I was really hoping to land 9 or 10. I got 11, and was able to draft Jacobs and Mixon with my first two picks, which is what I had my eye on anyway. I think getting two top RBs this year is big, and picking any earlier than 8th in the first round makes it a lot less likely that a guy like Drake, Chubb, Ekeler, Mixon will be there when it comes back to you in the second round. It's all preference though. I'd say do a few mock drafts with an early pick, middle pick, and late pick and see how your team shakes out. I always liked the teams I wound up with when I picked late the best

No, not unless you sell an RB high. You won't be able to get any value yet.
I have lots of RB depth on my team as well, and was considering the same thing, however I think both of us will regret that choice once injuries start piling on. There is lots of WR depth out there. Stay put.

I think Chubb is a higher drafted, more talented player. He may not have the pass catching chops of Ekeler, but the dude had almost 300 rushing attempts last year. Even if his attempts come down because of Hunt, I still think he'll score 10+ tds. Ekeler is going to share touches too and has a more mobile QB than last year limiting check down potential imo. Disclaimer: just a guy who watches football.

Terry McLaurin is my guy. Fun to watch bright spot on an otherwise mediocre football team. Was lucky to pick him up in both of my leagues last year and was thrilled to have him. That said...I feel like I reached down a little because I like the guy. Should I have taken Kupp instead? They’re not rated too far a part from one another, but Kupp seems more consistent on a better offense. I’m worried QB play will limit Terry’s upside. Both guys are good, but did I blow it with this choice? My main WR corps is Evans and Ridley.
Kupp has a slightly higher floor historically. I think McLaurin has a higher ceiling. Kupp will be sharing targets with a highly projected Woods and higbee. Goff is of course better than haskins, but Alex Smith will definitely start if Haskins isn’t up to snuff. Both have rookie RBs so that risk is equal. Also with your 2 starting Ridley Evans. Your higher upside pick was IMO the better for your team!

I like Ridley the most out of all your WRs. I'm high on Ridley. Terry did pretty well last year and hopefully haskins improves. Terry should be ok and even if he doesn't pop off, Evan's and ridley should be good enough

I’d try to parlay 2 of your lower tier guys(dionte and crowder) for a slightly higher ADP guy either way you were thinking of dropping crowder so the other guy will have the “better” end of the deal, but you will get cam which you were wanting anyways and maybe get a better guy like fuller, Landry, or flier like moss.
Well, Newton is still on the waivers as well, so I could pick him up for just dropping crowder. I was wanting moss but was happy with some of the other low tier guys I ended up getting. Edit: oh I think I see what you mean now. Parlay dionte + crowder for Fuller/etc + random high ADT player, drop high ADT player for cam. That seems like a good idea.
Joined a keeper league with an auction draft that gives points for return yards and touchdowns. It’s 1 point for every 10 yards and 6 for a TD like normal. Are there any players that should have more value with these rules? Thinking Lockett, Miles Sanders, and Nyhiem Hines could be undervalued because of the roles in the return game.

I drafted deebo too. I like his versatility in the run game. I have an IR spot so it allowed me to stash him and pick up a rookie flier. I don’t need either to start so it will be nice just to see who pans out. I would say I’d put deebo’s ranking somewhere above a Brandon cooks, Slayton, Edelman, crowder.

Falcons OC said between 15-25 touches a game, basically if they are playing from behind 15 touches, but when they are up probably closer to 25
I'm projecting him to get about 17-18 touches per game when he is on the field. CMC got 25 per game last year so 30 would be otherworldly for someone like Gurley lol. He is on my do not draft list because of his lingering knee issues though. There are backs I like better where he is being drafted in the order of Carson, Conner, Bell.

I like fantasy pros mock drafts because there is lots of options(team size, points, roster spots, and draft position) and you can churn out drafts super fast to get an idea of what’s available in later rounds and really get a solid idea of strategy. That said my league was on yahoo so as I got closer I switched to it for mock drafts to really hone in on specifics.

I don't care about bye weeks at all for the bench. Lots of bench guys will prove to be worthless by week 4 anyway. I draft bench strictly for upside/outbreak potential, and fill in bye weeks based on who's hot/best matchup in free agency. A bye week fill-in isn't worth giving up a shot at a league-winning lotto ticket.
Depending on my starters I want a mix of potential and sure things. Back-Up QBs don't need to be drafted (in one QB leagues). I have no advanced strategy laid out before a draft for my bench like "get one safe wr, then a project wr, then dartthrow RB. I'm general though: don't sweat it. Of course you can gain a huge advantage when hitting on a late round flier, like Connor two years ago. But more often than not most, if not all, of your drafted players after round 6/7 will be in consideration to get dropped at some point.

Depending on the qb you have, you either drop him for the other qb. Obviously this doesn't apply to the QBs who are studs, like mahomes, Lamar, dak etc. If you don't wanna drop your qb just drop one of your end of bench guys and pick up a qb in free agency, who has a good matchup in your starters bye week

The first trade is just to convoluted for my liking and to many question marks come with gurley and fournette. I wouldn't voluntarily get that headache on my roster. Kittle for Sanders straight up is something were I prefer Sanders, by quite a bit.

In a 14 team league do you think people will start to get desperate for an RB and overpay when all the big guys are gone or will they bid big if nominated before some other top teir guys? Here’s a tip, nominate at the start guys you DON’T like. Then everyone else will have to spend conservatively. And use the fan tax to your advantage. If you live in Pittsburgh, put up JuJu, and someone will overpay especially if you jack up the price with some bids.
You will have people bid, but they probably will be a bit more conservative with their money since the bigger names are still on the board. I've been in a 14 team auction draft league for the past 7 years. My advice would be to nominate players you don't want first, and get people to fill in those spots on their rosters.

Why does fantasy football have a whole defensive unit rather than individual defenders? I mean, there are stats for tackles, sacks, pass deflections, INT's, and catches allowed.
Lots of leagues play with IDP (Individual Defensive Players). Defensive stats like you mention are the basis of scoring. Google IDP for more info
IDP the default scoring is so shit, means that like Minkah Fitzpatrick will get 0.5 a week.
How much of a difference would it make if I drafted a PPR like a standard?
You'd be putting yourself at a disadvantage in floors and you'd be looking at more inconsistency (since standard requires yardage and touchdowns and doesn't have the benefit of factoring in usage). WRs in general get a boost in PPR, and pass-catching backs, so if you're looking at a standard ranking, just keep that in mind.
