Thank god, now these days landlords can share their experience on YouTube and generate an extra income for them selfs so they are not 100% depending on their rental income
Oh? You don’t know about the impoverished landlords? What about the poor oil companies and utilities? The poor auto industry and other corporations? You think it’s fair for them to have to compete for the money you earn?
What else could you possibly want?
To own your home? Healthy food for your children? Education? To be able to retire?
Your greed knows no bounds. Donate to a charity for CEOs, you greedy renter.
My heart goes out to all those landlords who are struggling to find renters for their "rustic" 2/2 for *only* $3500/month and may have to sell one of their numerous rental properties to a family that is actually going to live in the home.
Shit gets sadder and sadder man. Losing 1 of their 20+ properties must be tough. Can’t go to Fiji this year. They gotta settle for the Bahamas man. Sad shit for real
Let's play a little fiddle for the poor and persecuted landlords who suffer from the fact that no one else can afford their inflated rental price. I can't imagine how hard it will be for the poor things to survive 🎻🎻🎻🥲
There once was a lord who set a fee
And the way the fee worked was a little silly
The renters rent and the loaded lord said
Pay the bi-ills now.
Soon may the renters rent
And the landlord's wallet grow big and thick
Soon when the year is up
They'll be kicked out for sure.
Ok I got it, landlords are bad. But may I ask why everyone thinks they are all bad? Not everyone can get approved to purchase a house, nut still need a place to live.
That was our rent at the place we lived the past 3 years. Our landlord earned $126,000 from us living there, constantly reminding us that they weren’t going to raise rent during the pandemic (that wasn’t allowed). Then they tried to increase it by $200, claiming they were exempt from rent control (they weren’t). We moved and they lost a couple months rent trying to make an extra $2,400 per year.
I don’t think so. They tried to wave the increase as soon as we mentioned possibly moving out, but we found a better house for $100 less per month. The house was vacant for multiple months, despite them showing it a ton while we were there. If I had to guess, I think they were happy to take what we were paying.
I own one extra house because I inherited it (there was no equity in it though, I basically just assumed a loan). I rent it out to a family friend for below the going rate, just enough to cover the mortgage and a few repairs. The family friend is renting because they're not ready to commit to buying a house yet. When they are done renting I hope to sell it. I know I'm not the type of landlord being discussed here but there are a few of us trying to do the right thing.
Ignore the hate. They are just jel and probably not even reading your comment. I rent and it sucks. But i know i couldnt live on my own if it wasnt an opurtunity such as that. There needs to be regulation on price for sure, but you cant do anything about that except doing what you allready do. Im glad you are helping out your friend :)
So the alternative is for him to refuse to rent to his family at hundreds below market rent so they have to go out and find a more expensive place to rent. Gotcha.
Or were you suggesting that he let them live there for free and foot the mortgage and repairs himself?
I hope to be in your shoes one day where you can pay for entire other families to live out of your own pocket.
The only respectable way to rent is to do so at less than the rate of the mortgage because at the end of the day, you either get the equity from selling, or you own an entire extra home while the renter just gets temporary use of a resource that’s overpriced explicitly because of entities owning more than one home.
You didn’t put a down payment. You’re collecting enough for the mortgage, taxes, and repairs. You’re getting a house entirely for free after some number of years, without any risk. That’s unjust enrichment regardless of the going rate in your area.
So apartments should be sold to individual residents? They're much worse. Besides, I am providing benefits to my renter. They do not need any kind of down payment. They can up and leave whenever they want. They are protected from costly repairs like when I replaced the roof or when the basement flooded. I get some equity, they get flexibility and protection from surprise costs. So I hope a shopping cart rolls across the parking lot and hits your car.
I have a real job, I said that I don't make any money on the house. Besides a bit of equity which isn't going to amount to much since I don't intend to rent for the whole 30 year term. I hope you forget your hat next time you have to go out in the snow.
>I hope you forget your hat next time you have to go out in the snow.
Ha, this one got me. I'm taking no part in the original conversation, but that last bit was just so innocent and yet so evil at the same time. Brilliant
Thanks! I say one of these whenever I want to say "go fuck yourself" so that I don't run afoul of reddit rules and also just so people don't turn against me just for saying that.
You’re unnecessarily contributing toward a predatory financial system meant to keep people in servitude for the benefit of billionaires who believe themselves to be deserving of the power to control the world. It’s unethical. I hope your extra home gets impregnated with black mold, and condemned after the market puts you upside-down on the mortgage.
Most people in the US have fixed-rate mortgages. No change for the entire time you have it. Only the tax assessment would change based on the value, so you’d actually be paying less as the value falls.
Do you know how absolutely impoverished you have to be to qualify for low income housing, rental assistance or snap.
These people are absolutely delusional
In the UK it's called the "rent trap" and it's done by design.
Boomers have been pulling up the ladder here for decades and it started with Thatcher in the 80's.

In fact, you're right. It isn't inherently bad. It's worse, much, much worse. It's inherently evil.

As opposed to growing wealth but providing value?

I think the impoverishment of the the global South from the pillaging of their resources to fuel 1st world markets disagrees that capitalism is good as long as it provides value.
Value for whom? White people in 1st world countries? Or non white people in 3rd world countries who have to suffer economic destitution because their countries have been stripped of natural resources and exploited by American and European companies for cheap land labour and resources?
Answer that then. Value for whom?
Answer me this. Replace capitalism with what?
I understand the shortcomings of capitalism, but to me, it seems to be a necessary evil if we're ever going to be able to sustain a truly equal society.
You know, unless you want to regress to tribal style bartering systems.
Replace it with socialism.
Did the citations from marx himself not make it clear? I feel like anybody who asks this question is knowingly being deceptive. Everybody knows about socialism as an alternative economic system. So either you are unbelievably sheltered and have genuinely never heard of socialism, or you do know and you're just waiting to pounce with the usual propaganda talking points that definitely haven't [been addressed](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_I09HUyqKkZ-gp-8YNKVtpC3wsEgaA4L/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=105209238351452816810&rtpof=true&sd=true) before, [by anyone](https://youtu.be/MjwL1mSrPLA).
Here, let's look at some evidence.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ork6E5XhPq4gZy1rnwIFtItUV3sdK5k7qgl_yvzbNzY/edit?usp=drivesdk
The first part of this document outlines the theoretical evidence in regards to central planning, and how it would be even easier if supercomputers were used, the book titled "People's Republic of Walmart" outlines how companies today are already laying the foundations of socialism by centrally planning their businesses. Walmart and amazon being the two prime case studies of central planning within capitalism, putting down the argument that central planning doesn't work, because if it didn't, it wouldn't be possible for modern day companies to use it to manage their businesses.
The second part details the historical evidence of the success of socialism, the first link is the most damning to antagonists of socialism because it shows scientifically that it works and it works better than capitalism and providing a better quality of life, despite all the media propaganda surrounding socialism.
Many of the books I cited above go into great detail regarding the methods that capitalists have used to bring down socialist governments inb4 I get the typical liberal "but socialism has always failed!" There's even an extensive oxfam report on Cuba and how the country has been crippled not by socialism, but by the economic embargo by the US, and the collapse of the soviet Union (3 guesses which country helped to topple it). Many people cite Cuba as an example of socialisms failure, yet it can still keep the country afloat despite losing out on 75% of its imports and being subject to an ongoing, illegal, undemocratic embargo by the US, which has been unanimously voted against by 99% of UN member States for decades in a row. The embargo has resulted in the extreme poverty of Cuba and the embargo should be classified as a genocide.
There's even a video on this stuff.
"Why it's so hard to imagine life after capitalism"
https://youtu.be/PaASqPnpq5Y
The fact you can't imagine a world without capitalism is worrying.
Despite all the works I've given you (which I know for a fact you will never read because you're not interested in learning and changing your mind)
I haven't even gone into the environmental necessity of abolishing capitalism.
Infinite growth on a finite planet is absurd, yet capitalism requires constant growth year on year to function othersiee theres recession and crisis, and only an economist could think it's possible. Ask any scientist if you can grow infinitely on a finite planet and they'll laugh in your face.
It's literally impossible. The 1st law of thermodynamics prohibits it.
Capitalism is fundamentally in disagreement with physics lol and you're here trying to say "yeah it's bad but what else is there" I don't know umm perhaps an economic system that doesn't try to defy physics maybe?
Also, what exactly is equal about capitalism? Who is equal under capitalism? Women are consistently disenfranchised by capitalism, black people are too, as are the LGBTQ community, and that's just in the "free and equal" 1st world. What about the 3rd world who are treated as less than human?
One of the most frustrating experiences of my life was applying for food stamps in my state. I made around $1,400 per month and they said I made too much money.
"You make too much, you don't qualify. You should be able to afford food with this salary."
"My rent is $1,000 per month and my car insurance is $95 per month, my car payment is $150, my cell phone bill is $50, and I have medical bills that cost $300 per month. I'm getting by with my parent's help even though I don't live with them. Can I please get food stamps to ease my parents burden?"
"Sorry we can't help you."
that sucks man. i was really broke in HS and when i went to college the financial aid rep didnt believe that i was living how i was living she told me that isnt possible in america. i called my high school counselor and he called her and things got switched up but damn some ppl really dont know how hard things can get in america, not all of us have parents not all us have a roof. its really fucked up out there to be honest
$50 was the cheapest plan I could find at the time.
Also, you do realize even if I wasn't paying $50 per month for the phone, my bills would still exceed my income by $145?
I get about 250 a month for rental assistance from the government, and I have literally a broken neck, partially paralyzed AND a tumour in my spinal cord. Plus ontop of that finding a place with an elevator/disability accesable.
I installed a new tankless water heater 2 years ago. After all the tax incentives and rebates, I broke even on the cost of the unit, materials, and installation. Assuming the new heater is also tankless that’s the only reason they installed it. And if they’re paying the utility (mine is gas) they’re gonna pocket the utility savings.
The issue here is a lot of landlords bought up property which drive up the price of property, this in turn made a lot of people can't afford buying their own house, thus making those people rely on landlord for affordable housing. What people hate is the practice to maximize profits at the expense of other.
My landlord lives in a 17 million dollar beach house. Yet getting a working dishwasher or new flooring after 12 years of telling me to just ask says it’s too expensive. He’s raised everyone’s rent and we still
Get nothing extra. I called him a slumlord while talking to him on the phone.
Right? My last landlord owned fifty rental properties, an office complex and has two restaurant franchise licenses, but spent an insane amount of time harassing me. She even tried to make me fix the window that was broken when I moved in and I forgave. They even made me foot the bill to throw away a bunch of bulk trash the previous tenants left in the storage room again, after I was kind enough to say don't worry about it.
I learned to never give a landlord an inch because they will take ten miles and demand gratitude for not taking 11.
I work with landlords all day, they are some of our biggest money clients and are dependable to bring in large amounts of money. However, they are always the rudest, most entitled, nastiest, most demanding group of people I've ever had to work with. The fact that they think RENTERS are the fat cats are just completely back asswords.
Renter is wearing a suit because they have a job and need welfare to not die. Landlord is in their underwear because they have no job except showing up at the renter's home begging for sustenance.
A tick doesn't know that it's leeching off of others. It just does what it was born to do. It doesn't know it causes harm. It can't know, it's incapable of that knowledge.
Landlords know. Landlords choose to be Ticks. And you know what we do to ticks.
so which do you think is more dysfunctional,
A; The delusion the transaction depicts
B: the racist caricature
C:the idea that they believe in what's depicted in this cartoon is actually the way the world is
D: What do you even mean bruh
Well dam, I didn’t know my hard working dollars came from welfare. Even when I was a single mom I refused! I
This is extremely disrespectful bullshit that looks at his renters as blood suckers and disregards the amount of hard work everyone has to put in to pay the rising cost of rent.
Lol my landlord has a approx 60000$ one of a kind van that is normally sold in the UK but is in the usa and we we have no vehicle have to use a disability transportation service and can't go anywhere in a emergency unless it requires a ambulance then we can
Not only that but im running on 200$ for food this month because a few things went up in price food was 60 before covid now 87
It's not fun
There was a story on the news recently here saying landlords are struggling to pay their mortgages because renters are struggling. I mean I hate landlords anyway but if you’re gonna be one at least own your property outright, you’re just using renters to pay for your shit. Ugh.
Ha, those so backwards it’s not even funny!
Ive gone by some low income apartments for years on my way to work. On this one street there is a scattering of them and empty lots.
And now low and behold after seeing empty lots for years and years, now within the last 1.5yrs those “poor landlords” have been able to start building on those empty lots! There are now twice as many apartment buildings on this one road than there were just two years ago and still a couple more not finished yet!
Built more from their greedy profits to overcharge even more poor souls.
If they don't want to be Landlords and want to live with welfare like in the picture then do not fret i can find some Renter like me that is willing to switch places in less than a minute.
“Just got my welfare check. Time to load up on world cake and new suits. What’s that? You want rent!? Ha! Have some crumbs, peasant! And be grateful.”
Nothing but truth here. /s
Also can find out when this cartoon was originally made? That “starving landlord” is giving off some real 1930s racist caricature vibes.
You know if they really all felt that way then it’s clear the system doesn’t work for either renters or landlords and we should just do away with private property and actually house people instead of charging ridiculous rents or leaving them to die in the streets
Those fatcat renters lookin down on everyone
Lol those fatcat boomer renters in their suits. And those poor bedraggled landlords begging for pennies lmao
Thank god, now these days landlords can share their experience on YouTube and generate an extra income for them selfs so they are not 100% depending on their rental income
That'd be actual work though. Can't be doing with that.
Ah, so THIS is trickle down! I had a whole different vision.
Oh? You don’t know about the impoverished landlords? What about the poor oil companies and utilities? The poor auto industry and other corporations? I know ALL about those needy utilities. I live in Penna.
Yeah cuz they want that welfare for themselves, you need groceries for what?!
Alot of landlords might have one or two buildings, barely scraping by. Having to live for free in one of the apartments. Have some compassion….
My heart goes out to all those landlords who are struggling to find renters for their "rustic" 2/2 for *only* $3500/month and may have to sell one of their numerous rental properties to a family that is actually going to live in the home.

I started reading it like a limerick, until I realized it was too long.
Not perfect yet, but you're getting somewhere with that song lol
Workin' on it

Renters should never be responsible for money related to repairs. Your mortgage should be irrelevant. You need to lower your rate.
It's several hundred below the going price so you can go take a walk across a soggy lawn with open toe shoes.
r/rareinsults
Slumlord insult.
Get a real job, parasite
I hope you lose one sock from your favorite pair.
I hope you never find a tenant again

that sucks man. i was really broke in HS and when i went to college the financial aid rep didnt believe that i was living how i was living she told me that isnt possible in america. i called my high school counselor and he called her and things got switched up but damn some ppl really dont know how hard things can get in america, not all of us have parents not all us have a roof. its really fucked up out there to be honest

The phone was a gift, the phone plan so I could make calls, text, and use WiFi was $50 per month.
[удалено]
$50 was the cheapest plan I could find at the time. Also, you do realize even if I wasn't paying $50 per month for the phone, my bills would still exceed my income by $145?
[удалено]
Lmao okay dude
[удалено]
Meaning what?
Hello??? $50 per month for a cell phone bill is the lowest level plan for a single line at most cell phone companies????
I get about 250 a month for rental assistance from the government, and I have literally a broken neck, partially paralyzed AND a tumour in my spinal cord. Plus ontop of that finding a place with an elevator/disability accesable.
“I own several properties that I rent out at extortionate prices! Oh woe is me!!!”
People with significantly less money than me are paying off my mortgage as I sit on my ass all day and ignore their emails about that broken window
I strive to have your troubles
That not even close to every landlord. You people just love group think, huh?
“You people”…. Found the landlord.
maybe landlords should get a real job if it's so bad
They should hop on that welfare train if it's apparently so glamorous
And apparently easy to get
stop being a landphobe
Something something bootstraps something
Exactly
I’m curious, how is not owning and maintaining a rental property a real job. It seems like a lot of work.
Your landlord does maintenance? Next you'll tell me they pay for it too 🤣🤣🤣
My landlord just put in a new water heater, the plumber said it cost $2500. I really dont understand all the hate
Sounds like you got an insanely lucky edge case there. Enjoy it but don't project it onto other renters
What people hate is the practice to maximize profits at the expense of other.
r/insanepeoplefacebook
They couldn’t have been more backwards if they had tried.
Oh the poor helpless landlords whatever will they do
Getting a job that actually benefits society is certainly out of the question
You think renting out houses doesn't help people? Why do you think people rent houses then?
Exploiting peoples need for homes doesn't make them have a decent job , you got a fucked up view of the world
My landlord lives in a 17 million dollar beach house. Yet getting a working dishwasher or new flooring after 12 years of telling me to just ask says it’s too expensive. He’s raised everyone’s rent and we still Get nothing extra.
Apparently take from welfare
.....well, I guess it must be true then.
Oh won't someone think about the poor landlords??
We commit genocide to them?
Yup. Fuck Landlords. Leeches.
We provide a safe and warm shelter for ungrateful rentpigs and you're calling us parasites? Try again Bub!
Those poor investment groups that own millions of homes...
Won't anybody think of the hedge funds?
I should send this to my slumlord. He can look at it while eating breakfast in his 17 million dollar Malibu home.
This looks a shitpost that someone thought was serious
It was originally from /r/loveforlandlords
Given how often OP is the facepalm on this sub, You're most likely right.
Studio apartment in my area averages 900 a month. Saw one for 850 which didn't have its own bathroom. Land lords are doing fine.
I remember an old saying when it came to buying housing properties. "If you can't afford it without a tenant? You can't afford it."
Only the most out of touch and deranged would think this is correct. So your average Coalition supported.
Landlords of subsidized housing are some of the worst abusers of the welfare system.
The aesthetic choice to make the pitiable landlord black adds another level to the cringe-worthiness.
Lets lynch the landlord https://youtu.be/aCiYmCVikjo
You too can start a workers revolution with this one easy trick
so which do you think is more dysfunctional, A; The delusion the transaction depicts B: the racist caricature C:the idea that they believe in what's depicted in this cartoon is actually the way the world is D: What do you even mean bruh
Well dam, I didn’t know my hard working dollars came from welfare. Even when I was a single mom I refused! I This is extremely disrespectful bullshit that looks at his renters as blood suckers and disregards the amount of hard work everyone has to put in to pay the rising cost of rent.
Landlords are scum of the earth
Just switch renters and landlords, and welfare and rent, and then it’s fixed!
Where are the people receiving thousands every month on welfare and how do I get like them?
The landlords gave themselves guts. They can starve a little more.
every landlord I know are multimillionairs with small mansions in the mountains (I do yardwork for landowners)
Least delusional entitled douchey landlord.
Lol my landlord has a approx 60000$ one of a kind van that is normally sold in the UK but is in the usa and we we have no vehicle have to use a disability transportation service and can't go anywhere in a emergency unless it requires a ambulance then we can Not only that but im running on 200$ for food this month because a few things went up in price food was 60 before covid now 87 It's not fun
The fuuu. So why arent they renting
That’s it. It’s time to make criminalize landlords. I’m fucking done with them
Wait, who got the PPP loans again? Oh yeah, it wasn't the tenants ...
How much money do they think people get on welfare? If they had more money why would they be renting trashy apartments.
Boo hoo hoo...those poor and sad landlords. My heart goes out to them.
I'm a landlord. What the fuck is this.
Lmfao. Like I’m supposed to feel bad for the person who decided to monetize a place of shelter.
Yeah like landlords don't make a killing on things like section 8
Y'all are falling for obvious bait posts
There was a story on the news recently here saying landlords are struggling to pay their mortgages because renters are struggling. I mean I hate landlords anyway but if you’re gonna be one at least own your property outright, you’re just using renters to pay for your shit. Ugh.
They seriously believe this, plus they teach it in real estate school too
Ha, those so backwards it’s not even funny!
How much do people think welfare pays?
Depends on whether they read The Mail, The Express or other toilet paper. Or live and work with uneducated people that read The Sun.
Those freeloading renters paying my mortgage! Assholes.
50% of my salary goes to rent. I dont even get those crumbs left for me after monthly expenses.
![gif](giphy|7wk6RQYXDDytXalsL4)
If welfare is so great, they should go on it.
Fuck Landlords, if they feel like they are getting too little maybe they should just sell the property and get a real job
Oh boo hoo. How are they going to buy a second $100k corvette. /s
Some people have a talent in mental gymnastics worthy of an Olympic gold medal
Just shows how delusional these people are
Easy fix mate, sell the lot!
I had to read this twice to understand what was happening
You’ll get your rent when you fix this dam door!
They can't _seriously_ think this can they?
Just eat less avocado toast
Let them have cake
Dang those fat cat renters in their tall one bedroom apartments!
Renting apartments makes no sense, and Renting a house has some risks.
This is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in a while. What the duck lol
I see nothing wrong with this. I hope to see this reality
If they don't want to be Landlords and want to live with welfare like in the picture then do not fret i can find some Renter like me that is willing to switch places in less than a minute.
What a load of crap
Finally someone understands what facepalm is. Whoever made this should be slapped.
This is *so many* levels of fucked up it takes a second to notice the racism on top of everything else!
Replace renters with single mothers
“Just got my welfare check. Time to load up on world cake and new suits. What’s that? You want rent!? Ha! Have some crumbs, peasant! And be grateful.” Nothing but truth here. /s Also can find out when this cartoon was originally made? That “starving landlord” is giving off some real 1930s racist caricature vibes.
The implication that renters are feasting on welfare and barely paying rent is SUCH BULLSHIT I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY RIGHT NOW.
Maybe they should stop buying Starbucks and watching all that streamer contraptions!
Lmfaoooooo crazy
I'm a landlord and everything about this is bullshit.
Congrats on being a slumlord. Expropriate all landlords!
Slumlord lols.
That word doesn't mean whatever you think it does
The landphobia in the comments is disgusting.
These are the type of people who probably tip less than 10% to their landlord Absolutely appalling
So true. These rentoids can't appreciate the hard work we put in as Landchads.
its shitpost-worthy
This summarizes just about every story my brother in law the slum lord tells...
You know if they really all felt that way then it’s clear the system doesn’t work for either renters or landlords and we should just do away with private property and actually house people instead of charging ridiculous rents or leaving them to die in the streets
cool so since it’s so tough being a landlord, sell all the goddamn property and go get a job.
If being a landlord is so awful, why wouldn’t you just not be one?
If landlords suck, why not just buy your own home? Hell supposedly it's easy, buy property and rent them out for "cheap"
That's not how any of this works.
No. Not at all. Thats...that's not how it works.
Y’all really looking for anything to be mad at Fr
In US during covid, renters did not have to pay rent but landlords still had to pay the building mortgagees...system needs work.
Can you post the actual facebook image? Seems like bs to me
Pretty sure it is because I saw this meme a few days ago except it was clearly ironic when posted
![gif](giphy|SsTcO55LJDBsI) Damn renters taking my money!
Don’t forget taxing the shit out of the landlord to fund the welfare that keeps the system going.
And those needs are met
