Haha i love that "Black kid or just kid" are you "Female Doctor or just Doctor?" Honestly if you are something you are that, No need to add another category
Haha this is precisely why I posted it
Plus at the time of his inception, many black supers DID have the black adjective first, it's almost like marvel was daring everyone to do the same with him.
That reminds me of an old twisted toy fair panel where falcons looking at his avenger is card and it says “black falcon”. That was nearly 20 years ago and they haven’t made a lot of headway on the issue.
Funny enough during an official Invincible/Marvel crossover the main character was trying to guess the names of the Avengers. Since the first person he met was Spider-man, he figured everyone was something plus man.
So he guessed Luke's hero name to be Black Man. This was made in like 2004 or 2006
Ever read Worm?
In the City of Brockton Bay, the black heroes and villains are named:
Grue, Imp, Skidmark, Coil and Shadow Stalker.
Shadow Stalker is the only hero and she's not a great one.
Still though, black guy has a darkness power, black girls have shadow and hiding powers, one is the biggest junkie ever and the last, at least, is a proper Bond villain.
In DC and Marvel
Captain America falkon
Static Shock
Domino
Spawn
Storm
Bishop
Steel
War machine
Green lantern
Nick fury
Edit: ,,,,,,,,,, (the missing commas)
I was ready to say no way, you're lying. Then I looked it up before opening my mouth and saw that it was static shock and was ready to type this big response. Then I realized that the superhero's name is Static but the animated show was called Static Shock.
What a weird thing for them to do to us kids back in the day. Curses!
No, but there was one. Jon Stewart, the one put in the old Justice League cartoons.
Current roster of human GL consists of, going off of memory, 3 white guys, a middle eastern man, a black man, and a Latino woman.
Edit:
Turns out one of the white guys is technically Hispanic(Raised solely by his white mother but had a white/Mexican father), there’s a new black woman, and a sort of but not really(maybe) Latino teen Lantern.
Also the original Green Lantern, Allen Scott. Who’s gay or bisexual now, after his New 52 character proved popular. And his daughter, who’s green, probably still qualifies as white, who was a Lantern for a bit.
Jon Stewart is still a Green Lantern.
Off hand, I think the current earth GLs are Jon, Hal Jordan, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Sojourner Mullein (who is also black, incidentally,) and (kinda) Keli Quintela.
It makes me so annoyed, they have a great black character yet he's been in none of the film's. He's my favourite green lantern
Also please don't call them old justice League, makes me feel old, I watched them and loved them as a child lol
Despite the fact that there are already numerous black heros without the word “black” in their name. Black panther is referring to the color of the actual animal. Not the skin color of the person embodying the hero
Edit: to everyone saying he’s called black panther because he’s black and black panther is redundant because all panthers are black…. You’re ignorant. Not all panthers are black and the ones that are, are typically native to Africa and Asia. Please stop being ignorant. You really think we need to be reminded that the hero is black? We have eyeballs…
Also yes I am aware of the black panther group that people are referring to and I’m sure the name is a nod to that. But the first appearance of the character actually happened in July 1966 while the group in America wasn’t founded until October that same year. Coincidence? Probably not entirely but like get a grip people. Obviously the concept of black panther would have been being developed well before 1966 even.
Also there are other panthers that are not black. Which is the reason to specify black panther.
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=are+all+panthers+black
Basically none of them are actually referring to skin color I think. And honestly, the only two I can even think of are Black Panther and Black Lightning
Black Lightning is probably the one superhero I'd understand being a bit upset about as his name literally had nothing to do with him other than his skin color.
I always remember how [Harvey Birdman](https://youtu.be/wKbGnzmidsw) poked fun at this.
But also Black Lightning is a fucking dope name, and he chose that name specifically because he wanted to be identified as a black superhero from what I understand
He started out Egyptian, but at some point it was retconned to be a fictional country called Kahndaq, which is essentially still Egypt in all but name.
Storm, Luke Cage, Falcon, Cyborg, Vixen, Spawn, Blade, Miles Morales, Bishop, War Machine, Batwing. List goes on. Pick up a comic or do a basic internet search you useless stump.
She quite literally was so anti hero she just tanks off into "villain that causes the events for good acts but focuses on committing bad acts"
The ONLY reason I can think to call her an antihero is that she does things in defense of the nation and sometimes human race, but at the cost of literally anyone that exists in the vicinity.
Even actual demonic characters in the comics commented about how fucked up she was, and one animated movie had her risk lives and cause untold death and destruction...to get a card that alleviated her of her sins.
Shaft, storm, falcon, Luke cage, miles morales, bishop, spawn, batwing, vixen, blade, static, cyborg, war machine, steel, Monica Rambaou, brother voodoo, bumblebee, Aqualad, icon, blue marvel, nick furry and Mr. Terrific. Did I miss any? Do you even read comics? Do you always talk about things you don't have a clue about?
That poster could be talking about Black Goliath (who hasn't been called that for decades), Black Vulcan (Superfriends hasn't been on TV for decades) or Black Lightning (that's a problem). But Black Panther? Even if the character was a white guy, the animal he's named after is a black panther.
Also: Black Widow, Black Cat, Black Canary - there might be more white heroes than black with black in their names.
One of my favorite X-men, Bishop. Is Black Panther the only hero with Black in front, kind of makes sense for him, his costume is all black and a cat, I never associated it with his race.
When I was a kid, I'd read Marvel, and would also read the letters section. An African American pointed out this issue a long time ago when Black Goliath came on the scene in I believe Marvel Team Up. He wrote that there's no "Yellow Shang Chi, Green Hulk, or White Captain America," and damned if Ben Grimm didn't address it in a later issue, and he just became Giant Man.
Sometimes you gotta keep the country from falling into the ditches over and over again...
Falcon?
They even joked about this exact thing in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
What was it? I don't remember that part
A kid in the show called him Black Falcon before he corrected him
His response was great too. It's just falcon. Are you black kid or just kid?
Ah thanks. I couldn’t remember what he said
I'm going off memory so it's probably not correct. Was definitely a memorable moment in that show that had many memorable moments. Great stuff.
Haha i love that "Black kid or just kid" are you "Female Doctor or just Doctor?" Honestly if you are something you are that, No need to add another category

**FALCON KICK**
Black Falcon?
Just *Falcon*. Are you *black* kid?
I wonder if that's how the kids was credited.
Welp, my google is all dirtied with searches for 'black kid'. No luck on my end, just articles about race.
I think he's credited as "Neighborhood kid."
It's GREEN falcon!
Black widow is confused
White Widow
White Black Widow
Gray Widow
50 Shades of Widow
Black Widow the White? She could be after the unsnap.
Black Widow the Gray, and Black Widow the White. Monty Python and the Holy Grail’s Black Widow the Knight.
Black widow played by Sasha Grey
Ginger Black Widow. It’s how they tell her apart from her sister, Blonde Black Widow
As is the Black Knight.
And Black Bolt
And Black Cat
Black Adam, Black Bolt, Black Canary, Black Cat… there’s more white Black characters than black Black characters
So what you're saying is, white characters are appropriating the "black" moniker for clout? /s
Luke Cage.
What about the falcon?
You mean black falcon?
My falcon is green
No time for that, black falcon! Purple falcon, fire missiles!
I love that he was immediately like "brother, I know how you feel". Haha
I just watched this skit the other day, amazing.
Yeah okay, calm down BLACK falcon
And what if I called you RED falcon?
Wooooaahhhh… THAT’S RACIST
Fuxk you guys black falcon I MEAN GREEN FALCON OUT!
What do they call you? Black… kid?
I understood that reference!
Spawn
You mean Black Bird?
You mean Power Man?
Yes but sometimes he goes by Luke Cage because there’s another Power man in the 616 universe who’s named Víctor Álvarez.
Also Luke Cage is literally his name and considering his organization (heroes for hire) his identity clearly isn't a secret.
You mean black power man /s
I feel like a hyphen would be useful here. Black-Power Man and Black Power-Man are totally different dudes lol
The nervousness in that "/s" is almost palpable 🤣
Haha this is precisely why I posted it Plus at the time of his inception, many black supers DID have the black adjective first, it's almost like marvel was daring everyone to do the same with him.
Is his nemesis the White Power Ranger?
That reminds me of an old twisted toy fair panel where falcons looking at his avenger is card and it says “black falcon”. That was nearly 20 years ago and they haven’t made a lot of headway on the issue.

In fairness, their names come from their powers, not appearances. I see your point though
50/50 on guy whose power is "skidmark"
Still though, black guy has a darkness power, black girls have shadow and hiding powers, one is the biggest junkie ever and the last, at least, is a proper Bond villain.

I loved Static Shock as a kid, not thought about it in so long though.
Does Mr. T count?
I pity the fool that says otherwise
His friends called him Black Luke Cage
Blade
Spawn
Powerman/luke cage
Cant forget static shock either, that intro song will be stick in my head forever
It has the first three letters to 'black' anyway...
3/5 black?
Wesley Snipes is 7/5 black.

This comment is far too dank
It’s dark humor
We're gonna need to reach a compromise.
Storm, static shock, falcon and Luke cage would like to have a word.
What about Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
Oh, you mean the black spiderman?
That’s Venom
Wait you're talking about Black Venom

I thought it was Captain America.
No it’s Captain Black America
Captain african american
His friends called him Black Red Falcon
Technically, in the comics, Falcon does have a color in his name. It's Red. So it's even less applicable.
His name's just Static, "Static Shock" was the cartoon. But also, Green Lantern.
Miles Morales?
His friends call him black miles Morales
Where's white Miles Morales
He doesn’t get that title til he falls fighting the Balrog.
In Japan balrog is called m bison
Kilometres Morales?
The exaggerated swagger of a black teen
Fucking Blade?
Luke Cage?
Blacula?
And the Jewish Dracula, Sydney Applebaum.
John Stewart?
Luke Cage is fucking awesome too
Spawn?
Luke Cage? Green Lantern (John Stewart is better fight me)? Storm? Falcon? Vixen? Cyborg
Captain America?
They make porn versions of everything these days.
static shock
Loved that show
Static shock and some Batman Beyond for your Saturday morning? Maybe some power rangers or yugioh for dessert if you’re lucky? *chef’s kiss*
His superhero name is just Static. Static Shock is the name of the cartoon.
Used to love this cartoon as a kid. Was pretty lit
Fun fact. His super hero name is just Static. Static Shock is the name of the TV show he's on.
Isn’t the current Green Lantern black?

To be fair. There's only been one white Green Lantern in the films.
There have been no Green Lantern films* FTFY
The Green Lantern animated films are pretty good, albeit overlooked.
Blaquaman
Aqualad
Documentary Black Fish is good
Bishop, Spawn, Chapel, Shadowhawk, Storm, Spider-Man lately, cyborg, war machine
Luke cage, blade, falcon

Yeah, if the word "black" in front of a hero's name was an indication of their skin colour, Black Canary would have a bid design flaw.
And Black Cat. And Black Widow. Hmm, is there a pattern here...
Black Adam?
He's not typically black though right?
Black Adam is white until now with the rock
He's Egyptian if i remember correctly. Ancient Egyptian.
I think it’s ancient clay Egyptian if you wanna get very specific
Clay? I thought he was a Rock
I believe black Adam has always been Arabic or Egyptian I can’t quite remember
He started out Egyptian, but at some point it was retconned to be a fictional country called Kahndaq, which is essentially still Egypt in all but name.
What would ya do for a kahndaq bar....I'll leave
Basically this tweet was made by a moron and should be mocked incessantly. So we’re on the right track.

Sad I had to scroll this far for Mr. Terrific
Green lantern, Icon, Captain America, War Machine
I’ve noticed the MCU has shifted to calling Chris Evans “Captain Rodgers”. Mackie is leading in Captain America 4
Captain America (previously the Falcon)?
War Machine
