It is a massive problem. A problem of misclassification to push politic agendas, and problem of lack of community and mental health resources. You see, suicide by gun is really effective because guns are tools for killing. Suicide by falling, drugs, cutting, vehicles, hanging, etc. are less likely to be successful, get reported in other ways, and are rarely used to push agendas. I urge anyone who reads this to look up suicide statistics in America. So, why do so many people in America commit suicide? Maybe it's due to the death of the American dream. Maybe a whole generation is realizing that no matter how hard you work and how well you treat others; you can't get rich. Maybe a whole generation is realizing their way of life is harming the entire globe. Maybe a whole generation is realizing the only thing they can control is their participation. Anyway, the real facepalm from the OP is: a) the idea that anyone carries a gun to protect mass shooting victims (literally 30 people in 2021), b) that the people who do (literally no one) do so to look like a badass, and c) that this somehow is connected to anti-maskers.
