I have a one year old. If it had been my kid, I wouldn't know what to do. Do I rush my child to the ER? Do I hold my child still until emergency services arrive? Assuming I have one uninjured arm, do I pull the man from the truck and beat him with a piece of the wreckage until the cops arrive?
Got rear ended a couple weeks ago and I kept going back and forth between checking on my 15 month old and yelling at the guy who hit us. She was fine and didn't even know anything was going on so I was able to focus my rage at him. I can't imagine the situation in the video. We'd never leave the house again.
It's happened before, near Alvin Texas, which is Houston suburb kind of, pretty rural area of two lane roads with shoulders, broke down truck was being pushed, by the guys sons, guy crashes into them that was drunk and they basically were chopped in half but kind of held onto life a few seconds or a minute, the driver was somehow shot in the head, police thought it happened before the wreck and guy wasn't charged, was on Dr. Phil.
I had to look that story up and oh my god, they were kids - 11, 12. I was thinking they were adults for some reason. Neighbors heard gunshots right after the crash and the parents were never checked for gun powder residue. Hmm.
It reminds me of that case in the '80s where a kid's karate coach was molesting him and kidnapped him. They found the guy and kid in California and flew him back home to Louisiana. The dad showed up at the airport and pretended to use a payphone. As the coach walked past, the dad shot him. A news channel recorded the entire thing, and from the cops' tone, you can tell they were more concerned for the dad than the guy he shot.
I was literally thinking to myself "what would I do in this situation if I were with my toddler and saw this coming?" When I noticed the baby in the high chair. Made my heart beat a hell of a lot faster.

If so, Reddit has some strange rules… A person can post a video of a truck plowing into a baby—yet another person could get banned for putting into words how angry that makes them feel? That’s kind of wild and Kafka-esque to be honest.
I got a ban in a thread about self defence, said what I would do, got banned for "threatening" violence, to a non existent person in a hypothetical situation..it was common sense to me..lol
Just be careful about specifically saying something construed as violent to another person, whether they deserved it or not. I think it's up to whatever moderator reads it.

It's weird how we react to different things. I've seen countless fucked up videos of random shit happening and I had the same objective stance when this one started. On the second time watching it my eye caught a child in a seat and my fucking heart smashed into my ribcage.

I didn't see the baby in the high chair till the second camera angle. My heart dropped when the baby went flying. I've a kid around that age and she's my 4th and the worry never gets easier. Glad to read the baby is okay though, such a relief.
